ORA-01438 occurred during "Explain plan"!

Here is my query:
SELECT
rtrim(T1.col_id) Field0
, count(T2.col_id) Field2
, count(T3.col_id) Field3
FROM SS.Table1 T1
LEFT JOIN SS.Table2 T2
ON (rtrim(T1.col_id) = rtrim(T2.col_id))
LEFT JOIN SS.Table3 T3
ON (rtrim(T1.col_id) = rtrim(T2.col_id))
GROUP BY T1.col_id
When I try to explain it plan I receive an error:
"ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column"
Can someone explain this?
Thanks for the help in advance
Regards,
Beroetz

Hi,
Not sure how u r getting the explain plan...is it via a third party tool of SQLPLUS. Anyway by looking at the error it doesno tlook like there is a problem in explain plan.Did u run the script and check whether there is any error???There is a datatype error i guess. Please check ur script and the data in it.

    OptimizeServer says  GOOD BYE
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Khadar

    Hi Khadar,
    1) The information you have provided is the CTM optimiser log.
Run the job in background and in  sm37 and click on job log &
analyse the exact error happened.  In case if you are not able
to do, please provide the error log.
    2) Check the livecache is stable in its operations when the job
    runs (check with basis team)
    3) Run consistency check for master data before CTM run
    4) Check for any struck queues and clear those and rerun
    5) If you feel more inconsistencies in system, run livecache
    consistency and rerun CTM run
    Regards
    R. Senthil Mareeswaran.

  • ORA-01745 when running Explain Plan

    Hello everybody,
I would like to know what is the best way to report a bug. In fact I believe just found one and I would like it fixed. I am using the latest version of SQLDeveloper on WinXP that uses its own JDK.
To replicate the bug it's very easy, just try to do an explain plan of the following query:
    SELECT * FROM scott.emp
where empno = &&emp_nr;and the "*ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name*" error appears. Since the query executes properly, but the Explain plan errors out, I believe this could be a bug.
    Thanks,
    Paolo

    Gary,
thanks a lot for your feedback.
I have found this weird behaviour, because I was trying to avoid another one. In fact I tried using the substitution variable syntax instead of the bind variable syntax in SQLDeveloper, especially to avoid the issues coming from automatic data conversions.
For example, if I run the following query using the bind variable syntax (passing SYSDATE as the parameter value):
    SELECT *
       FROM scott.emp
      WHERE hiredate BETWEEN TRUNC(:p_eff_date,'yyyy')
AND TRUNC(add_months(:p_eff_date,12),'yyyy') - 1;it will go in error with "*ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER*", because the filter predicate will be converted automatically as follows:
TRUNC(TO_NUMBER(:P_EFF_DATE),TO_NUMBER('yyyy'))<=TRUNC(ADD_MONTHS(:P_EFF_DATE,12),'fmyyyy')-1This behaviour is visible by running the explain plan on the above query. Isn't that TO_NUMBER(:P_EFF_DATE),TO_NUMBER('yyyy') a little bit too wrong? Note that the second occurrence of the P_EFF_DATE parameter does not get converted. Can't this "automatic conversion" behaviour be disabled somehow?
Due to this weird issue I tried to use the substitution variable syntax, but the main issue with the single ampersand is that you have to enter the value of the parameter as many times as the parameter is referenced in the query and you can imagine that with big queries written by other people this is not so easy.
Is there another way to pass parameters to a query in the SQL Worksheet? How can I "use literals rather than variables" as you suggest? Do you mean NOT using parameters at all?
    Thanks,
    Paolo

Can you check the following ?
    a. Hopefully the when you execute the procedure using sql tool it works fine and returns data.
    b. Is there any input parameter available for procedure ?
    c. IF yes, is the parameter is mapped with the procedure parameter and populated with value before calling the procedure ?
    d. In the audit trial, you can see from the invoke activity to see whether the parameter is populated with value or not ?
    e. Check the input parameter by executing the procedure with sql tool to see whether this request is receiving any data in return or not ?

  • Ora-01039 - Insuffficient priviliges - Tuning using Explain Plan

In a TEST instance, i am trying (as the APPS user) on a 9.2.0.5 DB (11.5.10.2) trying to run an explain plan on a query but keep getting the 'ora-01039 - Insuffficient privileges on underlying objects of view' error message.
I have granted 'select any dictionary' to both the APPS and APPLSYS users - but this does not seem to enable the explain plan to work.
Could someone please shed some light on this?
    Tks

You seem to be doin an Explain Plan on a query against a custom view against non-Apps objects.
Explain Plan needs to be able to "see" the underlying tables (in that other schema).
    See :
    SQL> create view his_cntry_vw as select * from my_cntry;
    View created.
    SQL> grant select on his_cntry_vw to abc;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> connect abc/abc
    Connected.
    SQL> create synonym his_cntry_vw for otheruser.his_cntry_vw;
    Synonym created.
    SQL> select * from his_cntry_vw;
    GRP_I CNTRY
    ABC   Z9
    XYZ   UK
    SQL> explain plan for select * from his_cntry_vw;
explain plan for select * from his_cntry_vw
    ERROR at line 1:

SQL> REM  THIS IS THE FIX :

  • Error occured during budget check while planning in network activity

    Dear All,
i have created a project with 4 WBSE. i have assigned budget to one of these WBSE and released that project. than i want to do planning in next WBSE this is giving error while saving this planning as Error occured during budget check, see cost.
i have created user status for budgeting like if we have not budgeted than WBS is not able to release. i have added availability control as Forbidden while not budgeted but this not effective.
please suggest me some thing to remove this problem
    thanks
    Sunil

    hi,
In WBS you can Plan and budget to group WBS , the below wbs will consume budget form top.
Proj>WBS1(Group WBS- Plan/Budget) it is applicable for below all wbs elements say WBS2>WBS3
When you are determining Hierarchy you should create WBS in same levels then only you can allocate Budget.
If you wan to allocate budget for WBS2 and WBS3 separately.
    Proj
    WBS1
    WBS2                    WBS3
         WBS2A                   WBS3A
              WBS2B                    WBS3B
                   WBS2C                         WBS3C
Proj>WBS1 (it will no more act as Group wbs element) then  you can directly plan and budget for below wbs elements WBS2 and WBS3.
Below hierarchy will consume budget from as displayed above.
Note: In you case as per my understanding return budget make zero, then plan and budget the same it will work.
    Thanks and regards

  • ORA-01039 on attempt to perform EXPLAIN PLAN

    Folks,
I'm running a query below on Ora10G and getting "ORA-01039: insufficient privileges on underlying objects of the view":
EXPLAIN PLAN INTO DBO.plan_table FOR SELECT last_analyzed FROM all_tables WHERE table_name='MyTable'
I'm running under a user TST account and I did "grant all privileges to TST" to make sure I did not forget any privileges. This did not help. I also tried to explicitly "grant insert on plan_table to TST" and "grant select on all_users to TST" but that did not help either. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Vladimir.

To perform such execution plans on data dictionnary, you need to have the DBA role or have the "SELECT ANY DICTIONARY" privilege (if your O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY parameter is at the default value of FALSE. Otherwise, "SELECT ANY TABLE" should be enough). I don't haver 10G installed, but that should hold true, according to what I found on http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9013.htm#i2155015.

  • Planning object structure ATP_ALL: "Error occured during activation"

    Hi,
I'm working with pl object structure ATP_ALL in the IDES (SCM 5.0) system. Problem is I get an error saying "Error occured during activation" when I try to activate it.
Reason I was trying to activate it is because I first deactivated it. The reason for that was that it did not work for product allocations in GATP. But somehow it cannot be activated again...
I have checked all objects in the pl object structure using tr code RSD1; they are all active. I have also program  /sapapo/ts_d_objects_copy to make sure that all objects are activated. Trying again I still get the same error.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Ozgur

  • Error during Network Planning (SAPSQL_INVALID_FIELDNAME)

    Hi,
During Interactive planning in SNP when releasing the forecast to network (thru transacction /sapapo/snp01) we are getting an runtime error "SAPSQL_INVALID_FIELDNAME"
Please help. Error analysis appearing in dump is mentioned below
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SEMANTICS', was
         not caught in
procedure "SELID_GET" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
An Open SQL clause was specified dynamically. The contained field name
"SEL_9AACTNAME" does not exist in any of the database tables from the FROM
         clause.

    Hi Aparna,
Yes you are right. The forecast is already released to SNP and the team is now doing network planning. We are facing the error here.
Our technical person has done the analysis and it seems that its due to some Local objectcs that are implemented in system.
Will update once the issue is resolved.
    Thanks

  • EXPLAIN PLAN with pluggable mapping

    Dear Folks,
I have a mapping with a pluggable mapping included. When I try to get the EXPLAIN PLAN TREE I receive an error: 'ORA-00904: "FULLPACKAGENAME"."CONSTANT_0_SITUATION_1":invalid identifier'.
The EXPLAIN PLAN REPORT says in the first line: Error: cannot fetch last explain plan from PLAN_TABLE
When I search for 'CONSTANT_0_SITUATION_1' I can find things like:
    (SELECT
    "WH_JOIN_GSMNMBR_PORTINGDATA"."GSS_VOI_ID" "FACT1_ID",
    "WH_JOIN_GSMNMBR_PORTINGDATA"."BEGINDATE" "FACT1_BEGINDATE",
    "WH_JOIN_GSMNMBR_PORTINGDATA"."ENDDATE" "FACT1_ENDDATE",
    "INGRP2"."FACT1_MIN_BEGINDATE" "FACT1_MIN_BEGINDATE",
    "INGRP2"."FACT1_MAX_ENDDATE" "FACT1_MAX_ENDDATE",
    FULLPACKAGENAME."CONSTANT_0_SITUATION_1" "SITUATION_1"
    What is 'FULLPACKAGENAME'???
I can validate my mapping and this is OK. I checked the pluggable mapping again and again, all seems to be right. I can run the mapping and it works. Just need to tune it.
    I'm working with OWB 11.1 on a 10.2.g DB
    Can please someone help me?
    Greetings
    S.

    Hi,
if you generate the sql in the mapping editor, the sql may not run directly. FULLPACKAGENAME will be replaced my the mapping name during deployment. The constants you define in the mapping will be pl/sql-variables of that package.
To make the sql work, you have to replace the FULLPACKAGENAME.xxx expressions with correct values manually.
Do you have the most recent patch installed? In owb 10gr2 the values from the constants as well as the default values of the mappings are set correctly from version 10.2.0.3 on.
    Regards,
    Carsten.
