ORA -10567 : Redo is inconsistent with data block...
Hi All !!
Two days back I installed oracle 10g on windows XP and today my database is giving problem as it's in mount state and not opening for normal operation.
When I give command 'alter database open' then it's giving error ORA-10567 : Redo is inconsistent with data block...I have no earlier backup for database
and also no backup for any datafile. I crosschecked the status of datafile and found that there are block corruption in datafile 2 & 4 (users and undotbs01)..I used blockrecover coomand too for block corruption but not able to correct those blocks..plz suggest me that how can I fix this error ORA-10567.
Thanks
With Best Regards

Hi Ramesh,
I reckon you should try these out:
- identify the tablespace that file belongs to in the production db.
- put the that tablespace in backup mode on the prod db
- shutdown your standby database
- overwrite the problematic datafile with the corresponding datafile from production database
- put the tablespace above in end backup mode
- startup your standby database and issue the recover command.
Well, there you go. Your standby database should be all fine now.

Hierarchical tree and interacting with data block
I have a hierarchical tree that is used to pick records that are shown in another data block. I have a list item in the data block that changes the arrangement of nodes in the hierarchy. My problem is that after the update, I select the node, but the wrong data shows up in the other data block (eg. node x is selected, x becomes a child of y, the data for y still appears in the data block even though node x is selected in the tree). There seems to be something wrong with my triggers, but I can't figure out what.
Here are the triggers that I am using.
In the tree block, tree item:
-WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED
set_block_property(v_data_block, default_where, 'global_id = ' | | v_org);
go_block(v_data_block);
execute_query;
In the data block, list item
-WHEN-LIST-CHANGED:
-- find the tree node and select it
node := Ftree.Find_Tree_Node(...)
Ftree.set_tree_selection(v_tree,node,Ftree.SELECT_ON);
-- update the data block to show data from the selected node
set_block_property('GREENPAGES_DIR', default_where, 'global_id = ' | | :greenpages_dir.global_id);
go_block('GREENPAGES_DIR');
execute_query;
Thanks for your help.hi
i didn't try doing it.. i assume the the reasons can be:
1.check the value of the variable 'v_org' because 'w-t-n-s' trigger fires twice..
2. 'w-t-n-s' trigger is not firing eventhough u select it through ur code in the list item trigger.. if not firing, use execute_trigger('w-t-n-s') and remove the last set of code (update section) from the list item trigger..(assuming 'GREENPAGES_DIR' = v_data_block)
hope this helps u

Creating "Control Combo Box " Relation with data block
Hi all dears
i am switching from C# to oracle developer for joining gulf net software house, i have a problem regarding master detail data
the senerio is
"List items" control Filled programatically as under shortly:-
rg_id := create_group_from_query('myrg', 'select dname a, dname b from dept');
populate_group(rg_id);
populate_list('mylist', rg_id);
using this i fill my combo box during new form instance trigger
i have created a datablock emp through wizard which can show 10 record.
now
Problem 1
i want to show records on form when user select any dept from combo box.
Problem 2
if i create group from query and in select statement is like this "select dname, dpetno from dept" the record group is created successfully but i am unable to populate_list due to different data type colums in record group how i will populate list so that List items Labels are department name and value is department no
Thanks in advance for persualHi dears all
I have solved this problem my self
1. select dept name form combo box and the data block shows the emp's of concern depat
solution
create a data block of emp table through wizard
create its table view and show 10 records
go to datablock i consider its name "emp" datablock properties
in Where clause condition specify deptno = : my_combo_box;
now go to combo box when item changed event
go_bolck("emp);
execute_query; -
Help with Data Block Based on Procedure--getting compilation error
I am trying to create a datablock based on a procedure , but im getting errors in compilation:
Errors are :
1) identifier 'HSM_WSH_DEL_UTIL.DEL_TBL' must be declared
2)PL/SQL ERROR 320 at line 7, column 27
the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
ANy Help would be appreciated !
Heres my pkg spec and body for the data block:
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE hsm_wsh_del_util IS
TYPE del_record is record
(delivery_id number);
TYPE del_tbl is table of del_record INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
procedure do_query(p_del IN OUT del_tbl);

begin
FOR CUR IN DELIVERY LOOP
p_del(idx).delivery_id :=cur.delivery_id;
idx:= idx+1;
END LOOP;
end do_query;
END hsm_wsh_del_util;
Edited by: 981170 on Mar 13, 2013 1:08 PMHi,
Yes I did use the wizard,
I agve it the package.proc name for query.
it pulled up the field delivery ID,
Hit finish, because I do not need update/delete/inserts.
the query data source columns and arguments was defaulted correctly.
THe QUERY-PROCEDURE was built by default.
It is giving me an error though: wrong number or types of arguments in call to POPULATE_BLOCK..
DECLARE
bk_data HSM_WSH_DEL_UTIL.DEL_TBL;
BEGIN
hsm_wsh_del_util.do_query(bk_data);
PLSQL_TABLE.POPULATE_BLOCK(bk_data, 'NEW_DELIVERIES');

ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted on tables in sysaux tablespace
Dear Experts,
From the alert log file we noticed data block corruptions on one of our datafiles. After further investigation, we realized that the corruptions were on 3 of the AWR related tables in the SYSAUX tablespace:
1. WRH$_LIBRARYCACHE
2. WRH$_TEMPSTATXS
3. WRI$_ALERT_OUTSTANDING
The bad news is that we may not have a valid rman backup to do the recovery due to the retention policy - RECOVERY WINDOW OF 2 DAYS. Since this is a development database with limited monitoring, we did not discover the corruption until 6 days later. The issue happened about 6 days ago (about Christmas time).
So, what are our recovery options? Can someone advice? We are thinking about drop and recreate the 3 affected v$WR* tables, but not quite sure about the impact to the system if we drop and recreate the 3 objects. Did someone experience this type of recovery. If you did, what are your approaches?
We are running oracle 10.2.0.3 version.
I greatly appreciate your input and suggestion. Thanks!!!as long as you have a backup of ur database before christmas, you can use the " MAXDAYS " cmd to get ur backup working so long as you have not used delete obsolote....had a same sistuation....where i had a backup and trying to restore it ...kept saying no valid backup...after going thru some stuff...found the MAXDAYS cmd to use my backup...here is an example ...

ORA-10561: block type 'TRANSACTION MANAGED DATA BLOCK', data object# 237
Hello,
I encountered ORA-10561 while I was recovering my DB.
Problem Background :-
I took a hotbakup of my DB running in Windows, I edited the Pfile and recreated the control file
I was able to succesfully mount the DB
The I gave the below command to apply the redologs and recover the DB
And the errors followed as mentioned.
The HOTBACKUP was copied and restored using a USB-PENdrive. I suspect that the datafiles and / or ARCHIVE LOGS would have had some format issues due to O/S {WINXP ---> RHEL5}
If this is the case ? then I would like to know how to convert the format of the files(Datafiles and or Redologs)
into acceptable format

Regards,
ValliYou need to give much more information:
What version of Oracle? 10gR2 is not a version, 10.2.0.1 is a version.
What version of Windows, exactly? What version of linux?
ORA-600 means you need to talk to Oracle support. There is an ora-600 lookup tool, which basically searches the knowledge base (for ora-600[4502] in your case, which brings up a bunch of really, really, really old docs).
How exactly did you take the "hot backup?" There are a number of ways to do things with that name, some of which are just plain wrong.
How exactly did you get the backup from one machine to another? Which exact commands did you use to copy the files to the usb and from the usb? Did you do it more than once?
Why are you using the backup controlfile syntax? There are valid reasons, and invalid reasons to do that.
What exactly did you change in the pfile?
What does the alert log say about all this? -
ORA-00607: Internal error occurred while making a change to a data block
hi
i hv use testing purpose oracle 10 Xe in unix
but when today i hv connect database following error occured
SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 83886080 bytes
Fixed Size 1257284 bytes
Variable Size 75497660 bytes
Database Buffers 4194304 bytes
Redo Buffers 2936832 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-00607: Internal error occurred while making a change to a data block
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [4193], [625], [640], [], [], [],
I hv check alert log , but no proper solution is given , how can start databaseDuh, and of course I missed the significance of
oracle 10 Xe in unix
XE is only supported for Linux - according to the downloads page that means "Debian, Mandriva, Novell, Red Hat and Ubuntu".
Oracle have not publically stated the reasons why XE is only available on Linux and Windows, but my guess is that it is something to do the Intel chip architecture. If this is so it would be possible for Oracle to port XE to run on Solaris for x86. But they have not done so yet.
Which means, alas, that you are unlikely to get any help for this one, because XE is not supported on any unix platform.
Good luck, APC -
OAF Update of Custom Table causing ORA-600 with database block corruption?
Using OA Framework 12.1.3, running under EBusiness Suite 12.1.3
Created Custom Web page operating against Custom Tables
ISSUE
On about 2% of new records, when OAF is UPDATING a record in a certain table, it is failing with
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00607: Internal error occurred while making a change to a data block
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kddummy_blkchk], [815], [26412], [6110], [], [], [], []
ORA-06512: at line 1
Before the DBA turned on 10.2.0.4.0 DB_BLOCK_CHECKING parameter, this actually
resulted in corrupted data blocks in the database and corrupted indexes that
eventually crashed the database and we had to do a full recovery with 2 days downtime.
Now that we have turned on DB_BLOCK_CHECKING, it simply errors out and puts things
in the alert log, but the records still fail to update as the writes are blocked.
Then oddly, a few days later.. the records become editable. And others fail.
This is ONLY happening on the one particular table being updated by OAF. Other custom pages
posting to other custom tables are having no problems. We've CTAS'd the table back and
forth and recreated the indexes, and that did not help.
Support says to post to the Forum ( So I am! ) or hire Oracle consulting.. which doesn't make
much sense given the error. The Recovery Team that helped us in a separate SR ( we had
to do db_repairs not just recovery ) felt it was an important problem the OAF team needed to
strongly review.
Anyone else encounter this already and know of a solution?
TIA
KarlAfter MANY hours of trial and error and research, we've identified ONE use case that seems to apply to 90% of the issue we have encountered.
YMMV.
The BC4J generated SQL which is generating the ORA-600 is
BEGIN UPDATE XXRETURNHEADER ReturnHeaderEO SET INTERNAL_TEXT=?,LAST_MOD_USERNAME=?,OBJECT_VERSION_NUMBER=?,LAST_UPDATE_DATE=?,LAST_UPDATED_BY=?,LAST_UPDATE_LOGIN=? WHERE RMA_NUMBER=? AND ORGANIZATION_ID=? RETURNING TROUBLESHOOT_DATE, FAA_TAG_DATE, FAILURE_ANALYSIS_DATE, LAST_MOD_DATE, FAA_REVISED_DATE, TTE_TECH_SEND_DATE, TTE_REP_RESPONSE_DATE, TTE_REP_APPROVED, TTE_RMA_RANDOM_KEY, OBJECT_VERSION_NUMBER, LAST_UPDATE_DATE, LAST_UPDATED_BY, LAST_UPDATE_LOGIN INTO ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?; END;".
We determined that if TTE_RMA_RANDOM_KEY was not a null value, we would get an ORA-600 error whenever we did an APPLY from the OAF Page to update the record.
If we set that table attribute to NULL for the record using SQL.. then used the OAF Page to APPLY.. it worked fine and the record saved without error.
We then modified the EO to NOT "Refresh After Update" ( thus removing it from the RETURNING clause generated )... and even if the TTE_RMA_RANDOM_KEY
had a value... the OAF Page APPLY worked and the record saved without error.
I cannot identify anything from the User programming side that is wrong ( and neither could Oracle ), and it REALLY should be in the RETURNING clause list of
attributes.. but this is the only workaround I've found that doesn't crash the Page and irritate the user to no end.
I have reported my findings via the SR back to Oracle to do with it what they may... but it looks strongly ,to me, to be an error in the BC4J/JDBC/Database
coordination and passing data between those black boxes. -
Need advice on ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted
We have a development database server version- 10.2.0.3 with materialized views refresh as complete every morning. Yesterday we had a power failure and the server went down and database was shutdown unexpectedly.
When we restarted the database after the server restarted, we found some of the datablocks got corrupted . Following were the exceptions that we saw in the alert.log.
Errors in file /i01_01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/admin/orcl9/bdump/orcl9_smon_7547.trc:

ORACLE Instance orcl9 (pid = 8) - Error 1578 encountered while recovering transaction (9, 38) on object 54463
I tried the following query to see the segment type.
select owner, segment_name, segment_type from dba_extents where file_id =11 and 257712 between block_id and block_id + blocks - 1;
OWNER
SEGMENT_NAME
SEGMENT_TYPE
VISH
INVENTORY_TXN
TABLE
where " INVENTORY_TXN " is a materialized view that was using the block that got corrupted. I can always recreate the MV by dropping and recreating it. Will it solve the problem???
If not, how can I recover/repair the block.???
Can anyone advice on this. Thanks very much in advance.To recover a corrupted block,the best way out is to use Blockrecover command of RMAN. So you would need RmAN backup to perform the operation.But first ypu you need to ensure that this is a persistent error or not? Is this error is coming repeatedly or just once it happened?
About Blockrecover command,read here,
