    Well basically what your saying is absolutely right
    I realized what i am doing right now is stupendous blunder.
    Basically my aim is there are 5 dimensional tables that are created
    Student->s_id primary key,upn(unique pupil no),name
    Grade->g_id primary key,grade,exam_level,values
    Subject->sb_id primary key,subjectid,subname
    School->sc_id primary key,schoolno,school_name
    year->y_id primary key,year(like 2008)
    s_id,g_id,sb_id,sc_id,y_id are sequences
    select * from student;
    S_ID UPN FNAME COMMONNAME GENDER DOB
    ==============================
    9062 1027 MELISSA ANNE       f  13-OCT-81
    9000 rows selected
    select * from grade;
          G_ID GRADE      E_LEVEL         VALUE
            73 A          a                 120
            74 B          a                 100
            75 C          a                  80
            76 D          a                  60
            77 E          a                  40
            78 F          a                  20
            79 U          a                   0
            80 X          a                   0
    18 rows selectedThese are basically the dimensional views
    Now according to the specification given, need to create a fact table as facts_table which contains all the dim tables primary keys as foreign keys in it.
    The problem is when i say,I am going to consider a smaller example than the actual no of dimension tables 5 lets say there are 2 dim tables student,grade with s_id,g_id as p key.
    create materialized view facts_table(s_id,g_id)
    as
    select  s.s_id,g.g_id
    from   (select distinct s_id from student)s
    ,         (select distinct g_id from grade)gThis results in massive duplication as there is no join between the two tables.But basically there are no common things between the two tables to join,how to solve it?
    Consider it when i do it for 5 tables the amount of duplication being involved, thats why there is not enough tablespace.
    I was hoping if there is no other way then create a fact table with just one column initially
    create materialized view facts_table(s_id)
    as
    select s_id
    from student;then
    alter materialized view facts_table add column g_id number;Then populate this g_id column by fetching all the g_id values from the grade table using some sort of loop even though we should not use pl/sql i dont know if this works?
    Any suggestions.

  • How to create a type table in designer 9i

    Hi
    In our company we use designer 9i. I want to create a type table using designer. Is it possible? I have a requirement where i need to create a type table and use in creating a view through designer.
    Create or replace type varchar2_ntt as table of varchar2(4000);
    [\pre]
    Please suggest.

    Hi
    Here I am giving the step by step process.
    1. select the container in which container you are going to create the type.
    2.Go to tools then design editor and expand the container. There you will find oracle collection types. there we have to create a new one by clicking the + button on the left side.
    3. Give the name of the new collection type.
    4. And in the collection of tab, let it be scalar, give the scalar data type,and the size and click finish.
    5. then right click on that object and give generate. there you select theDDL files only and the give the path where the scripts have to go.
    This the process.
    Thanks,
    raju

  • IWork Numbers program. I am trying to create a 'Master Table'. The table will be used on numerous sheets, when cells altered on the 'Master' it will show on all sheets using the Master table. Is this a possibility??

    iWORK NUMBERS
    I am trying to create a 'Master Table'. This table will be used on numberous sheets, however not all. Items entered into the cells in the Master Table will then reflect in the used sheets that have the Master Table linked.
    On the individual pages however, they will be able to be altered purely for that page.
    Hope I have explained myself clearly,
    Would appreciate any help,
    Cheers,

    Hi Hilary,
    The formula in the Index column of the Main table is:
    E2: =IF(A,MAX($E$1:E1)+1,"")
    Fill down to the end of column E.
    The Breakout table contains a single formula:
    A2: =IF((ROW()-1)>MAX(Main :: $E),"",OFFSET(Main :: $A$1,MATCH(ROW()-1,Main :: $E,0)-1,COLUMN()))
    Fill down and right to fill the table.
    For multiple rooms (with different data transfered to each) you'll need a column of checkboxes and a corresponding index column for each room.
    The index columns can be hidden.
    Contents in individual cells in the breakout tabel(s) can be entered directly, replacing the formula. To retun to the calculated result, select a cell adjacent to the one where text was entered, and drag the Fill control handle (small circle, bottom right of the selection rectangle) to fill the formula back into that cell.
    Regards,
    Barry

    While setting up XML data server the ro option i have deleted as defalut value is false which allows both read/write & its look like this
    jdbc:snps:xml?f=../demo/XML/EMPDEPT.xml&s=SCH_EMPDEPT.
    I have mapped and written create XML commands in commit section of IKM which looks like this :CREATE XMLFILE #ExportXMLFileLoc FROM SCHEMA SCH_FLDEPT
    created the interface and executed,it went through fine,4 rows data transformed into target xml data store,file is generated in the given path .
    But in the generated file is same as which have EMPDEPT.xml with data change,but in the target xml data store depart i am able to view newly inserted records.
    i want generate an output xml for each of the target of the XML data store, how we can do that please explain me.

    I was previously able to generate a types jar just fine from the web service's WSDL. Recently, I made some changes to the web service. Apparently, these changes to the web service now cause the WSDL to be unparseable when trying to generate types jars.
    Any ideas?

    The WSDL is generated from my web service. I made heavy revisions to my web service which, in turn, affected the resultant WSDL. The changes I made to my web service were almost exclusively related to object substitution. For example, prior to the change I was referencing object A from my web service; after the change, I was referencing object B. The objects that I'm referring to are XMLBeans, if that matters. I can't really describe it more than that without actually showing you the WSDL.
    I would post the WSDL file here to allow you to try to create a types jar out of it, but the WSDL exceeds the 30000 character limit for this field. There is no way for me to attach the WSDL to this post.

  • CREATE DATA TYPE TABLE

    Hi Colleagues,
    regarding my IDOC viewer project I'm facing a question regarding the SAP release. I started with some success on Release 471, now I tried to continue on 46C.
    CREATE DATA gr_ref
      TYPE lvc_t_fcat."STANDARD TABLE OF LVC_S_FCAT.
    works in both releases, while
    CREATE DATA ls_seg_dat-ref
      TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF (<edid4>-segnam).
    compiles on 471, but generates syntax error in 46C.
    The error message "Unable to interpret "TABLE". Possible causes of error: Incorrect spelling or comma error."
    does not help too much.
    Does this mean that there is no way to create tables dynamically on release 46C?
    Hope for a solution!
    regards,
    C.

    Hello,
    the only possibility I found was to use available table types in the dictionary. This works on a 4.6C system:
      DATA: lf_type(20)          TYPE c VALUE 'MARA',
            lf_table_type(20)    TYPE c VALUE 'MARA_TAB'.
      DATA: wa_data              TYPE REF TO data,
            lt_data              TYPE REF TO data.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <structure> TYPE ANY,
                     <field>     TYPE ANY,
                     <table>     TYPE TABLE.
      CREATE DATA wa_data TYPE (lf_type).
      ASSIGN wa_data->* TO <structure>.
      ASSIGN COMPONENT 'MATNR' OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
      <field> = 'My Material'.
      CREATE DATA lt_data TYPE (lf_table_type).
      ASSIGN lt_data->* TO <table>.
      APPEND <structure> TO <table>.
    Little curious: An internal table type defined with "TYPES ty_mara_tab TYPE TABLE OF mara" is not accepted by CREATE DATA, but the dictionary type is. So even generating a little top include dynamically with the needed type as a table type will not work on 4.6C
    Best regards,
    Stefan Kozlowski

  • Man know tool to create XML map table structrure in RDB

    I want to create XML files that map my tables in database in my application.
    I just need the table column structrues/foreign reference/PK.
    Some good frame like Hibernate is good, but is too complicated and large like a big bull. I just need a little sheep to help the problem.
    So some guide for this type tools?
    You are appreciated.
    Thanks for your reading.

    Here is the relationship: They both contain geographic coordinates that produce a point on a map. I will use the rest of the information in the second xml file (company name, address, link, etc.) to produce the information for the bubble that will pop up once the marker is clicked.
    My problem is that I need to try to keep the second xml file in a relatively similar format, so the rest of my records will still be accepted. If I had a smaller amount of records I could place them directly into the javascript, but because there are so many records, I need to use an xml file that can be retrieved by the java script. I chose to use the second type of xml file because I can easily copy and past the 14,000+ records that are now in excel document.
    After the xml issue is corrected I need to rework the javascript that is now emboldened so that it will read the new xml file correctly. I included the first xml file so that the readers will understand what type of xml format is currently being used to produce the markers in the tutorial map.

  • Where is CopyEvolve trying to create the mapping table?

    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0
    Connected to:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    With the Partitioning and Data Mining options
    I am trying to use DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.copyEvolve .
    ORA-30945: Could not create mapping table 'XDB$MAPTAB481'
    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    I can create a table in my own schema. I am left to assume copyEvolve is trying to create the table someplace else, but where?
    The oracle docs say "If there are schema-based XMLType tables or columns in other database schemas, you need privileges such as the following: CREATE ANY TABLE" I have CREATE TABLE but not CREATE ANY TABLE (and have little hope of getting it from our DBAs!) but I didn't think this would be an issue since the XML schema I am trying to evolve is only used by an object in my schema. Anyone have any idea what privilige it is that I am missing?
    Thanks,
    ggb

    Hi,
    There is a LastActiveTime column in collection views(such as dbo._RES_COLL_SMS00001).
    It records the date of last communication.

  • Create Data type table in 46B

    Hi
    Quick one, can I dynamically create tables in 46B using the 'create data dref type table of ty_table' in 46B.  It seems not but I just wanted to check.  Otherwise I will resort to using the construct below:
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
                               EXPORTING it_fieldcatalog = gt_fieldcat
                               IMPORTING ep_table = gp_table.
    From what I can see the RTTS has not been fully implemented yet.
    Cheers
    Ian

    Thanks Svetlin but I can already create my table like this. What I wanted was a 'cleaner' version so that I can have for example:
    if p_plant = 'X'.
      create data dref type table of ty_plant.
    elseif p_workcentre = 'X'.
      create data dref type table of ty_workcentre.
    endif.
    assign dref->* to <gt_output>.
    However I get a syntax error when I use the above or even when I create a table such such as;
          begin of ty_gbp,
             plant TYPE qals-werk,
             insp_end TYPE qals-paendterm,
             workcentre TYPE QAQEE-PRPLATZ,
             lwr TYPE qals-zz_lwr,
             insp_lot TYPE qals-prueflos,
           end of ty_gbp,
           ty_gbp_table type table of ty_gbp.
    create data dref type ty_gbp_table.
    It says the type specification of ty_gbp_table is incomplete.

    This is the statement that I used to create my directory:

    Does that directory have to be an actual physical directory in UNIX for this to work, or
    will it be looking for a products folder in the d drive of my Windows NT machine?

    The directory should exist on the server where Oracle is installed. Since clients can be more than one on various operating
    systems, It can not be a directory on the client (since that would not be valid for other clients or even the same user
    connecting from a different machine).
    Did you install the Standard Edition of Oracle or the Enterprise Edition of Oracle server on your machine?
    External Tables option may not be available on Standard Edition.
    I have Oracle9i Rel 2 installed on my server and the external tables works fine for me.

    The examples in the following thread include an insert, but you could also use the select statement alone without the insert.
