Hi,,
Is there any way to monitor the progress of the sql queries in oracle 9i other than v$session_longops
Thanks
lbn

Hi
One more thing
SID SERIAL# USERNAME OPTIMIZER_MODE HASH_VALUE ADDRESS SQL_TEXT
105 13149 MPS_OPER MULTIPLE CHILDREN PRESENT 1736428005 07000002BA3BA160 SELECT A.REQUEST_ID, A.ACCOUNT_NO, A.SRC_TYPE, A.SRC_ID, A.SRC_ID_SRV FROM BH_RECON_REQUESTS A , BH_RECON_REQUESTS B, BH_RECON_REQUESTS C, BH_UTL21A_REQUESTS D WHERE A.SRC_TYPE IN ('BMF' ,'ADJ') AND A.REQUEST_STATUS = 4 AND A.SRC_ID=B.SRC_ID(+) AND B.SRC_TYPE(+)='EMU' AND TRUNC(A.DATE_REQUESTED)>=TRUNC(SYSDATE-1) AND B.SRC_TYPE IS NULL AND A.SUBSCR_NO=C.SUBSCR_NO(+) AND C.REQUEST_STATUS(+)=0 AND C.REQUEST_ID IS NULL AND A.SUBSCR_NO=D.SUBSCR_NO(+) AND D.REQUEST_STATUS(+)=2 AND D.ACTION_TYPE(+)=9 AND D.REQUEST_ID IS NULL AND A.REQUEST_ID NOT IN (SELECT REQUEST_ID_DONE FROM WENU_EXP_PROCSD_IDS) AND A.REQUEST_ID < :B1
above is the out put for below query
select sesion.sid,
sesion.serial#,
sesion.username,
optimizer_mode,
hash_value,
address,
sql_text
from v$sqlarea sqlarea, v$session sesion
where sesion.sql_hash_value = sqlarea.hash_value
and sesion.sql_address = sqlarea.address
and sesion.username='MPS_OPER';
My question is why that OPTIMIZER_MODE is MULTIPLE CHILDREN PRESENT without telling CHOOSE , because optimizer_mode parameter we have set to choose
Thanks

    Hi,
    I am not quite sure what you mean by "i need to register the oracle ". Are you referring to the Tuning Pack Required confirmation dialog? If so, then you should click on the Yes button if that option is licensed for your database installation.

    Hi Merav
    select version from v$timezone_file;

    If you get 4 from that query use MetaLink Note 568125.1.
    Have you installed Database Vault ? that might be related to your issue.
    Can you please send us more details on the error?
    Would you please investigate also :
    -STATISTICS_LEVEL initialization parameter is either set to ALL or TYPICAL (the default value)
    -CONTROL_MANAGEMENT_PACK_ACCESS parameter must be set to DIAGNOSTIC+TUNING (the default value)
    Control also that :

  • SQL Monitoring using SQL Queries

    Hi
    I am using Oracle 10 g DB. I have an application which has Oracle as DB. Its a multiuser application. During the testing of one of the page we found that saving couple of records takes huge time (50-60 seconds). I dont have access to the logic written in application code to know which all queries gets executed when user click on save button.
    I know that there is SQL Monitoring available in OEM why which you can find out the queries which got executed and also the execution time for those queries.
    However I dont have OEM access.
    Can you please let me know teh set of queries which probably will use few of teh V$ data dictionary views and provide me the same details as generated in the Monitoting report generated by OEM ?
    I want to see all the queries which got executed in last defined time (say 10 mins, 1 hr etc) , same way as it is done in OEM and not just the last sql.
    TIA
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi,
    I recommend you to install STATSPACK - it's a free tool that can be used instead of the Automatic Workload Repository (that is used in OEM).
    This tool creates snapshots of V$ views in defined time period, so it enables you to see long runing queries in history.
    If I were you I would run SQL trace just before the problematic part and then stop it just as it has finished. It would be better to run trace only for the problematic session or module - not for the whole database. SQL trace generates a file with all the executed queries, explain plans, stats, ...
    In extreme case just create copy of v$sql before and after the problematic part and compare them (new sql_id, elapsed_time delta, ...)

  • Query about oracle standard request monitoring page

    Hi all
    I have provided a link for request monitoring in OA Framework through the following url
    OA.jsp?akRegionApplicationId=0&akRegionCode=FNDCPREQUESTVIEWPAGE
    But In this page there is no option to cancel the request .Also there is no column for viewing the parent request as we have these option in oracle forms.
    Could u plz tell me if there is any option to view parent request Id and Cancel button in Oracle standard Request Monitoring page.
    Thanks and Regards
    Bhupendra

    Jaison,
    There's another way to do that might work for you:
    1. Create the fields updated_by and updated_on in the table;
    2. Create in the page the items PX_UPDATED_BY and PX_UPDATED_ON of type "Text field (saves state)";
    3. Go to the properties of the item.
    PX_UPDATED_BY
    Source:
    - Source Type: Database column;
    - Source Value or expression: updated_by
    - Post Calculation Computation: :APP_USER
    Default:
    - Default value: &APP_USER.
    PX_UPDATED_ON
    Source:
    - Source Type: Database column;
    - Source Value or expression: updated_on
    Default:
    - Default value: sysdate
    - Default value type: PL/SQL Expression
    When the user submits the changes, the table fields are updated.

  • Oracle 10g SQL Profiler Equivalent?

    As per the subject, I can monitor sessions via the web gui, but I need to see actual SQL statements that are hitting the 10g server. Is there an Oracle 10g SQL Profiler equivalent?

    XE?
    You might want to hunker down with some of the docco available at http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/portal.portal_db?selected=1
    In particular, you could look at the 'Reference' manual (not SQL Reference, or any other ... Reference) and browse through the DBA_ and V$ views listed. The Concepts and Administration manuals are interesting as well.
    The specific views of interest include, but are not limited to, V$SQLAREA and V$SQLTEXT

  • Why is OEM SQL Monitoring showing parallel on almost every statement

    I'm confused here.
    I'm running Oracle EE 11.2.0.2 and when I look in OEM SQL Monitoring, it shows nearly every sql statement running with a degree of parallelism of *2*.
    I've checked dba_tables and the 'degree' for all tables is only 1.
    I look at the actual sql statement, and there are no hints to tell it to use parallelism.
    So why and how is the database using parallelism?
    I do see that parallel_threads_per_cpu is set to 2, but this is default for our Solaris 10 operating system.
    REF: (for 11.2)
    ===========
    PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU specifies the default degree of parallelism for the instance and determines the parallel adaptive and load balancing algorithms. The parameter describes the number of parallel execution processes or threads that a CPU can handle during parallel execution.
    The default is platform-dependent and is adequate in most cases. You should decrease the value of this parameter if the machine appears to be overloaded when a representative parallel query is executed. You should increase the value if the system is I/O bound.
    I guess the next question here is how to tell if my database is actually IO bound or not?

    Hi John. Thanks for your reply.
    NAME                                 TYPE                             VALUE
    parallel_degree_policy               string                           MANUALAnd so, the more I read about PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU, the more I wonder if I should increase this value.
    But first, I want to understand why I'm seeing parallelism in OEM set to 2 for almost everything that runs in the database, but note, NOT ALL.
    Some queries, especially those running from Crystal Reports, are not using parallelism at all.
    Is it possible to set a parameter at the session level that runs parallelism, and perhaps this is being done by the application?
    I'm going to try increasing my PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU to 4 and see if this changes the parallelism in OEM, (but I doubt it).
    I should note that my most recent AWR report shows my db_file_sequential_read in the top 5 wait events.
    This would imply my index reads and table reads by ROWID are waiting for disk - possibly I/O bound.

  • Need To Create a table in Sql Server and do some culculation into the table from Oracle and Sql

    Hello All,
    I'm moving a data from Oracle to Sql Server with ETL (80 tables with data) and i want to track the number of records that i moving on the daily basis , so i need to create a table in SQL Server, wilth 4 columns , Table name, OracleRowsCount, SqlRowCount,
    and Diff(OracleRowsCount - SqlRowCount) that will tell me the each table how many rows i have in Oracle, how many rows i have in SQL after ETL load, and different between them, something like that:
    Table Name  OracleRowsCount   SqlRowCount  Diff
    Customer                150                 150
    0
    Sales                      2000                1998
    2
    Devisions                 5                       5
    0
    (I can add alot of SQL Tasks and variables per each table but it not seems logicly to do that, i tryid to find a way to deal with that in vb but i didn't find)
    What the simplest way to do it ?
    Thank you
    Best Regards
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    According to your description, what you want is an indicator to show whether all the rows are inserted to the destination table. To achieve your goal, you can add a Row Count Transformation following the OLE DB Destination, and redirect bad rows to the Row
    Count Transformation. This way, we can get the count of the bad rows without redirecting these rows. Since the row count value is stored in a variable, we can create another string type variable to retrieve the row count value from the variable used by the
    Row Count Transformation, and then use a Send Mail Task to send the row count value in an email message body. You can also insert the row count value to the SQL Server table through Execute SQL Task. Then, you can check whether bad rows were generated in the
    package by querying this table.

  • Error in setting datasource location from oracle to sql server

    Post Author: jonathanaramburo
    CA Forum: Data Integration
    Hello,
    I have an application that uses a table named "events" which conflicts the sys.events view in master database in sql server. The error i was encountering is that, whenever i tried to set the datasource location of my crystal report from its previous connection oracle to sql server, i get an error saying that some of the fields has not been updated because theres no matching fields to the current connection. It seems that crystal is pointing on sys.events view on master db and not on the events table in myDb database. How can I tell crystal reports to not pick up sys.events and get only myDB.events table.
    Thank you in advance,
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    The exact statement in oracle side which causing this error (O2SS0050:
    Conversion of identifier 'to_date(VARCHAR2, CHAR)' is not supported.) is below:
    dStartDate:= to_date(sStartDate,'MON-YYYY');
    Statement causing error O2SS0050:
    Conversion of identifier 'regexp_replace(VARCHAR2, CHAR)' is not supported is below.
    nCount2:= length(regexp_replace(sDataRow,'[^,]'));
    So there is no statement which is using to_date(VARCHAR2,
    CHAR) and regexp_replace(VARCHAR2, CHAR) in as such. 'MON-YYYY'  and '[^,]'
    are CHAR values hence SSMA is unable to convert it from varchar2 to char.
    Regarding SYSDATE issue, you mean to put below code in target(SQL) side in SSMA ?
    dDate date := sysdate;
    Thanks.

    Hi Su,
    Thanks for your post.
    How do you manually build  your PL/SQL/Oracle projects?
    TFS Build invoke MSBuild command to build project/solution on build agent machine by default. If these projects can be built using MSBuild command line manually, then we can use TFS Build(default build process template) to build these projects.
    If these projects need be built using another complier, and this compiler support run the command line to invoke it, so you can add the InvokeProcess activity(execute the command line) to invoke this compiler to build these projects in build process template,
    then create build definition using this customized build process template.
