Dear Experts,
Please tell me the solution of the bar graph in oracle adf. when we create the bar graph from the master details table
then this show the error 'please enter at least one numeric data point on the<bars:>edge.

In order to show a bar graph, there must be some Numeric field - A field that is defined with Number Data type - to show the data, I believe you are missing a step and you don't put that into your bar graph, try going to bindings tab and double click on the graph, and specify the attribute you want to compute the bar graph with.

Experts,
We have some DVT components in our application which runs perfectly on integrated local Weblogic Sever. Once we deploy it to a Weblogic Standalone server, we are getttnig the following error while trying to access the DVT graph page. Rest of the application is working properly.

followed by ADF Faces 60097
Jdev 11.1.1.5 and WLS 10.3.5

Solution : Go to EAR Deployment Profile Properties -> File Groups -> Application Libraries ->Filters and here you have to remove the libraries that are ADF DVT.

Which is better as UI technology among Flex and Oracle ADF for oracle SOA suit

We have one application which is using oracle’s Service oriented Architecture (SoA) suite. Currently, there is a debate on the technology for UI in the new architecture that will be rich, easy to maintain, scalable and integrates well with SOA suite. We have two options one is Flex and other is Oracle ADF. UI part contains number of graphs, tabular and charts data. So it would be great if any one suggest which technolgy will be better for UI point of view. Thanks in advance.

2- About half of the RIA in the financial/banking industry are developed with Flex, the other half is developed with Silverlight / WPF. HTML 5 is being taken up by some, but you still end up with the usual problem of having to pick up an AJAX framework, and get tied to a vendor anyway in the end. Never heard about any project developed with Oracle ADF yet.

Quick answer needed----Does Oracle ADF Mobile support Canvas in HML5?

I am interested in Oracle ADF Mobile and want to develop a native mobile product on ipad maybe other tablet devices with CAD functionality. But I can't find a way to create HTML5 with Canvas on it. I wonder if Oracle ADF Mobile can do it. If so, how?

Hi,
ADF Mobile comes with a rich set of Data Visualization Components (charts/graphs/etc) that's based on HTML5 Canvas. You would not need to develop your own set of HTML5 components. This is applicable to the new on-device version of ADF Mobile. You would need to create an ADF Mobile app, and create your user interface using AMX components. The graphics component set is call DVT Mobile AMX.
If you decide to create your own HTML5-based pages with HTML5 canvas-based graphics component, you can still host your own HTML5 page inside ADF Mobile. However, you would need to create your own HTML5 page.

Using the Oracle ADF Data Visualization Components in a standard JSF enviro

I have asked this question on the JDeveloper and ADF forum, haven't gotten a response yet:

.. but I would like to ask the question here as well if anyone have used the data visualization components from Oracle ADF Essentials .. the free version ... using the graph components in general, but I am looking at specifically using the gantt chart component in particular ... in a standard JSF environment ( e.g. Tomcat + Mojarra, or JBoss with the built-in Mojarra implementation ) ??
I know there are other JSF charting components out there ...like the ones from PrimeFaces, but the gantt chart from ADF looks more ... well .. professional.

People are not prone to answer questions that are not really a problem. You want to know something about a free product, install it and see for yourself. In any case spreading your question around is not going to help you, the people who know about ADF are still going to be looking in the ADF forum. If you don't get an answer there, what chance do you think you have that you'll get one here where it is off-topic?
I'll close with a word of advice: you generally pay for quality. If you want professional looking charts, you'll probably have to look at commercial products.

ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.share.http.ServletADFFilter

We have recently started using ADF and I have been tasked with deploying it to a Apache Tomcat environment.
I have a simple 'jspx' with a ADF Data Visualization graph on it, that I have deployed to my local tomcat env using the JDeveloper deployment package (WAR file). However, when tomcat tries to deploy/start the web page, I get the below exception. It would seem that I am missing some files in the deployment package or that Tomcat cannot find certain files. I have also run the ADFInstaller.jar and that completed successfully. Does anyone know what I have missed?, I've spent a lot of time googling but have not found anything that helps me.

this filter sets the ADF binding context. If you have the following setting in your web.xml file then this filter may not be needed at all

Does Studio Creator support Oracle ADF Faces and other components?

"Although ADF Faces is "vanilla" JSF we have not been able to run with Java Studio Creator Build 04.06.2. We are working with Sun to resolve the issues in Java Studio Creator."
Does anyone know if Oracle ADF faces now work with Studio Creator and if so which version.
In addition I am also looking for JSF visualization components. In addition to advanced 3-D graphs (send as PNG to client) I am also looking for components to visualize the structure of a website. These all need to work with Studio Creator.

Importing 3rd party libraries used to be complicated. The .complib stuff was added precisely to make it easy.
It does make packaging slightly harder for third party -vendors-, since there's one extra step, but this makes everything easier for (the much larger number of) users of the third party components, since the packaging format specifies a bunch of stuff that we used to have to ask of users when trying to add the jar and associated metadata into the IDE.
The complib stuff is documented, so if you're producing a 3rd party JSF library, or if you really want to use one that hasn't yet been packaged, you can do the steps yourself.

ADF graph component rendering issues

The ADF based application that we are developing requires the use of gauge component to display in data graphical representation. After it is being rendered, we have found that the graph displayed has following issues with different test scenarios..
Let me explain the issues as following..
1. Incorrect scaling along Y-axis when the max value is set to 2 and min value 0 and value 2. The graph scaling generated as(0, 0, 1, 2, 2). I would like to mention that data passed to graph are at runtime and this is one of the specific case when I have wrong representaion on the graph. Following is the code excerpt of the graph component implemented in the code

2. When the scaling is above 1000 along Y-axis, the min value(i.e "0") is at the same level as the starting position of histogram bar but in case if it less than min value of scaling is bit up from the starting position the histogram bar.

Configuring ADF Graph Component

Hi all,
Can you help me to find any document that explains how to configure a graph component in a ADF Swing application?
I've seen a lot of documents about DVT Graph component but they do not apply to Swing.
Is there any wizard that can be used in this case, as I see in ADF Faces Documentation?

JsCookMenu - Problem with display of Menu (Oracle ADF)

I am using Oracle ADF with JSF components. The jsCookMenu displays the menu along with "x" representing images on the right and left side of the menu label. Please suggest me how to remove this icon from the menu display. Please find the code below.

I am getting this problem with IE when the application starts. When I do ctrl+refresh, this issue doesnot occur. Also, with Firefox I am not getting any problem. I need to know how to fix this issue with IE when the application starts. Any suggestions on this would be of great help.

The interesting part is what you did not tell us.
Kindly let me know as to why Iam not to replicate the issue in my earlier WLS.Please find my code means hte code has once run OK and now after you did some changes doesn't any longer. Querstion: what did you change, not oly to the code but to the environment.

thank you for quick reply. but I ran my application in the integrated weblogic server in the Jdeveloper.I did not deploy it to a standalone one.did you mean the default domain?

Unable to open OAF page oracle.adf.mds.MetadataDefException:

I am unable to open a OAF OAF page. The error message that i am getting is
oracle.adf.mds.MetadataDefException: Unable to find component with absolute reference = /bob/oracle/apps/ak/pmrtest/webui/PMRTestPG-ROHR-MRA=36105=3014=Y=Y, XML Path = null. Please verify that the reference is valid and the definition of the component exists either on the File System or in the MDS Repository.
I tried running the below
begin
jdr_utils.printdocument(<PageName>);
end;
It throws and error "Could not find document <Pagename>"
Can anyone pls help resolve this issue

When I printdocument for that region, I see the xxpositionname1 as the messagestyledtext item.
