ORACLE CC&B Barcode Reader Error
Could you pls tell how can i create barcode when bill generation is happening.
i need to print account id as a barcode on the bill.
your help will be appriciated.

On your bill design replace the font of your AccountID with the barcode font. You can use Free3of9 barcode font. This will display the barcode on your printouts. To be able to be read by a barcode scanner you should place and * before and after the account id like * 123456789 *. Also depending on the scanner you may need to configure it for reading the Free3of9, as per the manufacturer's guidlines.

ORACLE CC&B BARCODE READING ERROR
Hello,
On scanning ACCOUNT ID using barcode reader on account search screen only partial ID is displayed. The result is the same on other search screens when their corresponding ID's are scanned. This issue happens especially on the pop up search screens. The same doesnt happen while scanning on the Billing, payment or any regular screens(FULL ID's are displayed).
For ex. If the Account ID 1234567890 is scanned using bar code reader in the payment event add screen, the scanned text in the payor account ID text box displays numbers in random fashion such as 1234 or 23567 or 789 etc. The text box doesn't display the actual scanned ID. But on regular screen actual ID is displayed
We have tried different bar code readers, barcode fonts, ports and not able to overcome this bug.
If anybody have come across this issue please share the info or please give some inputs on why this problem happens and what can be done to solve this.

I am trying same multi step PO example. I have created a search page and there are 3 other pages for PO Header, PO Line and Review/Submit Page. I am coming on 2nd page(creating Line Item) and when I click on create new item record I am getting this error. Any help will be aprrecaited.

I have created the required entity objects and view objects.
I have an entity JobsDEO which is based on a view per_jobs_vl which is itself based on 2 tables,per_jobs_f and per_jobs_tl,wherein _tl is the translation table.
The entity for _tl table is JobTranslationEO and has no VO associated with it.Its the JobsVO,based on JobsDEO,that has to handle any interactions with this entity too.
JOBSDEO has a property set up for HCM_DBSEQUENCE,which makes it read the value of job_id from the sequence per_jobs_s.
Now,when I try to insert into the JobsVO,based on JobsDEO,it gives me the above mentioned error.
One more thing is that the error does'nt occur when we commit a row,its just when we click the "+" button in the AM Tester that we get this error.
Please advice. -

Error messages
Web Users receive: Socket read error: connection reset by peer
Trace files on the sever: Read unexpected EOF ERROR on 18.
Explanation: The error in the server sqlnet trace file, suggests that a client connection has terminated abnormally, i.e. client machine powered off, a cable removed or a network connection aborted without warning. No user has complained of such a problem and there is no client trace with an error.
The problem
The users of the java web application, experiencing an exception almost once or twice a day.
The JRUN web-server reports broken connections to the db and client are receiving "connection reset by peer".
At the moment when the errors occurs the users just have to wait a while(2-10 min) and then they can use the web application again.(no action is taken)
This problem can not be reproduced. The problem happens only occasionally when the network is under heavy load and new DB connection is being created.
The application
The java web-application uses a customized connection pooling against the database. This pool is shared among all the users of the website. whenever a user process needs to fetch data from the database, a free connection from this pool is allocated. The application is testing if the connection is valid before making a transaction (select '1' from dual). When the error occurs a ORA-3113 end-of-file on communication channel is returned to the application.
The path between the client and db involves at least two firewalls. The firewalls are opened for sql*net traffic. The network group can tell that enquiries from the app.server is not getting feedback from the db. They have not however, identified if the enquiries are reaching the db-srever, or if they are stopped earlier in the network.
Around 1000 users, are using other applications which uses dedicated sqlnet connections against the db and they have not experienced any problems.
Issues considered
Connection pooling
It is a customized connection pooling, developed by Lindorff developers.
I have read through the source code for the connection pooling and it does the job as it should, and in case of bad connection, it tries to create a new connection.
The log file shows that the call to the method DriverManager.getConnection() hangs until the server goes down, which is probably because of the fact that the method DriverManager.setLoginTimeout(), does not take effect and timeout value is Zero. ( According to oracle , Oracle JDBC does not support login timeouts and calling the static DriverManager.setLoginTimeout() method will have no effect).
Firewall
One thing to consider is when the firewall may decide to shut down the socket due to long inactivity of a connection. This will cause problems to JDBC Connection Pool because the pool is not aware of this disconnection at the TCP/IP level; until someone checks out the connection from the pool and tries to use it. The user will get a Socket read error: connection reset by peer.
Jrun timeout paramter is less than the firewall�s timeout so the firewall will not close a connection before Jrun does.
Number of processes the DB can handle
Processes parameter is 1300, , they have not experienced the Oracle error msg �max # of processes reached�.
Port redirection through a firewall:
Since the firewall has a sql net proxy Port redirection through a firewall is not a problem. Problems with port redirection only appear at connect time, but in this situation the connections fail long after the connection is established.
The network group
The network people who investigaged the problem at Lindorff report that there are a significant amount of "dropped packages" between the database server and the jdbc client (web-application) 24 hrs. The reason for this is "unknown established TCP packet" which means that the firewall does not consider these packages to be part of an already established session. The network group believes this happen because one of the hosts send a RESET or FIN signal which the firewall have noticed but are not received by the other host.
It seems like the firewall are dropping packages bacause of "Unknown
established TCP packet" from both the JDBC client and the TNSLISTENER on the database server. The dropped packages are SQL*Net v2 traffic so clearly Oracle products are involvedPresumably something is working.
Thus the problem is not with your code. At least not the database part that you have control over.
That error occurs when the other side closes the socket. Presumably you are catching lost connection exceptions and trying to restore it. -

I'm new to OAF,
I have created a Page, In that i have an LOV to a Message Text input box and it returns values to another 6 text boxes from my custom table(1). and in the same page i have some radio buttons also check boxes and "save","cancel" buttons.here i have created another custom table(2) for store these values if i click save button it has to store the page values to custom table(2) columns.
But i tried my level and i got the an error message oracle.jbo.RowCreateException: JBO-25017: Error while creating a entity row
can anyone help me to resolve it.

you mean to say that
" to display values on the page you are using table1" and when you click on save button "you want to store the same values into Table2".
if this is the case, we can do this.
what you need to do is:
1) create EO for Table2.
2) Create VO based on Above VO.
3) Attach this VO to AM(for which you have attached Table1 VO).
when you click on "Save" Button,
programmatically assign values from Table1 VO to Table2 VO.
and commit the transaction.

It happened because my application was updating a few attributes in a ViewObject, And there was a message that showed:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00904: "EI_PPN": invalid identifier.
My entity object for the view object above has the EI_PPN attribute, and so as well as the table in the database. Why it keeps showing that EI_PPN is an invalid identifier?Is the column name also uppercase EI_PPN?

Adobe Reader error with PDF reports created using AS Reports Server 10g
Hi,
Recently when trying to run reports in our system (which uses Oracle Application Server Forms & Reports Services 10g - 10.1.2.0.2), sometimes when we try to run a report in PDF format the following happens:
1. A new window appears as expected
2. This window hangs/appears to try to load for a couple of minutes
3. Eventually an Adobe Reader error message appears saying the following:
*"There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again".*
I have noticed that this problem only seems to occur when the client has Adobe Reader 9.3 installed (8.2 works fine).
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a known workaround or is this a known issue?

Oracle Database 10g Lite -- SYNC Error
Hi,
I am Using Oracle Database 10g Lite.While doing the Sync Process With the Mobile Server i am getting following error message in my Ol_SYNC.log file

What i did is ....
First I Download the Client New2008 from Mobile Server
Second I done some DML operation in that Downloaded File (in the forms of *.odb and *.obs)
Third I start to SYNC that Client "NEW2008"
Sync process is web based only .....
after the SYNC process Completed i got the log off Screen in MY Internet Explorer
i always check the ol_sync.log file for the confirmation( about the SYNC) and i got the error message in that file as mentioned above.
Error is Releated what ?

Like i have two groups with two members each
I applied log1a.dbf and it said media recovery completee
I opened the database But then it started giving me errors for undo tablespace
I made another undo tablespace..tried dropping the old one but it did not permitted as it had some segments with status "needs recovery"
Than i added this parameter in pfile with the correupted segment and than tried to drop the segment but it still did not permit
corruptedrollback_segments =(corrupted_undo segment_name)
Next what i did was I mounted the database, ran another session of media recovery and opened the databse using resetlogs
Than i dropped the old undo and it went through successfully..
If you think anything i did wrong than please advice..

PiggyBack Read Error when using WebStart
Hi together,
i have a very strange problem, i use a SWING Application with BC4J.
The Application should be launched with webstart.
The first time this is successful, but each new access to the application cause in a Piggyback read error (see below)
When i delete the webstart cache and download the application again it works for one new session :(
Can anyone help me, what is the problem?
