Oracle data to web service in ODI

Hi Experts,
Please help me on "Oracle data should move to web service (odiInvokewebservice tool)" in ODI
eg:
Table EMP have 10 records, when I execute package, for each record webservice should call(webservice should call 10 time)
if Table EMP have 20 records, web service should call 20 times. Later I insert 2 more records in EMP table (total 22 records present in EMP table)
again when I execute the package web service should call 22 times
Please help me on it
Thanks
Phani

Do you mean that a certain Web Services should get called for each row in a table ?
Is yes , then a simple count variable and the loop activity should do the trick for you. -
1. Declare a Variable say Count
2. Refresh it with count(*) value in the table.
3. Run the interface/webservice , subtract 1 from count variable.
4. Call again , till the count is 0.
5. End.
Good Luck !

    Hi,
    As this looks like a Microsoft / C# problem, you may not get much help from this forum, which primary focuses on the Oracle Web Services stacks.
    You may want to try to post this question to .NET dedicated forum on MSDN. See sites like http://www.gotdotnet.com for example.
    On the Oracle forums, you may have better luck in one of the "Windows and .NET" forums.
    You should also try to test the private method -- SearchProduct -- first, outside the Web Service and test your Web Service with a static result, so that you can narrow down where the issue is.
    Hope it helps,
    -Eric

  • Sending document to oracle xml gateway web service and body is url encoded

    Hello,
    a question from a complete newbie to web services. I have some code that is sending a soap message to an oracle xml gateway web service. In the soap message the values in the soap body look like &lt ;CNTROLAREA&gt ;
    when I would be expecting <CNTROLAREA>. What I have been told is that the content of the ReceiveDocument element has been url encoded which causes the &lt and to correct it I need to change the paramater type from object to xmlnode and to build the request as an xmldocument. The xmlnode and xmldocument comes from a .net guy so I've been trying to find the equivalent in java but am not having any luck. I have a lot of reading to do but was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction on how to correct the problem. I captured the soap message being sent using tcpmon. Why does the body have the &lt instead of the < as I was expecting and is there an xmldocument type? The header part of the soap message looks as I expect. "><soapenv:Header><ns1:XMLGateway_Header xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/fnd/XMLGateway"><ns1:MESSAGE_TYPE>XML</ns1:MESSAGE_TYPE>. It is being sent as a com.oracle.xmlns.apps.fnd.XMLGateway.XMLGateway_Header type.
    thanks
    Thanks

  • Need help in design the scenario sending data to web service

    Hello All,
    I need to send data to web service and get the response back.
    i want to use HTTP to soap Scenario.Please let me know the necessary steps in the scenario.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Chinna

    Hi Chinna,
    > i want to use HTTP to soap Scenario.Please let me know the necessary steps in the scenario.
    Split this into 2 scenarios
    1. HTTP to SOAP (Request) treated as Asynchronous.
    2. SOAP to HTTP (Responce) treated as Asynchronous.
    For HTTP to SOAP synchronous scenario
    Here the receiver side request and responce structures no need to create, the receiver client will provide you the XSD file, on that XSD file having the request and responce message structures, so you have to import that to XI server as External definition.
    For sender HTTP you have to create 2 data types, 2 message types as well as 2 message interfaces, 2 message mappings for request and responce messages and 2 service/Message interfaces (HTTP is outbound and SOAP is inbound).
    Configuration objects are same.
    Regards
    Ramesh

  • Want to find out how much data a Web Service is sending to client (JWSDP)

    Well, the subject line didn't fit what I was intended to say, so if you don't get what I am saying in the subject line, I am sorry.
    My question is... I have a Web Service client that uses stub classes generated by wscompile in JWSDP. I am wondering, it there a way to find out how much data the Web Service is sending back to my client.
    The reason I asked is this, I used WebLogic 7.0 workshop to create a Web Service and also used JWSDP to create the same Web Service which deploys to Tomcat. The generated WSDL files from WebLogic workshop and JWSDP that expose the same functionalities have differences. The WSDL from WebLogic workshop is 1.5 times the size of the WSDL from JWSDP. When I tested both with client programs, calling the Web Service in Tomcat (which uses JWSDP to built) is much quicker than calling the Web Service in WebLogic.
    For this reason, I would liked find out if the Web Service from WebLogic is sending more data than the one created with JWSDP.
    Thanks.

    I've used the TcpTunnelGui utility to see the HTTP flowing up and down the wire, that might help you.

    We've now added this ability to Web.Contents. You can say something like
    Web.Contents("http://my.web.service/1", [Headers=[#"The-Token"="0a0138ef2d"]])
    and it will pass a header with the key "The-Token" and the value "0a0138ef2d" as part of the HTTP request. For security reasons, this will only work for anonymous web requests.

  • Using Native Oracle XML DB Web Services - REST POST web service possible?

    My goal is to expose some pl/sql procedures as a REST web services.
    The Database is 11gR2
    The request method needs to be a POST (not GET as a request will perform insert/updates ) - the request body will contain a xml structure
    Have setup XMLDB Database-native Web Services as per
    11g documentation "Using Native Oracle XML DB Web Services"
    It seems this setup support only SOAP requests!?
    RESTful webservice with GET is (sort of) supported using
    Embedded PL/SQL Gateway as describer here:
    http://ora-00001.blogspot.com/2009/07/creating-rest-web-service-with-plsql.html
    Although no support for POST
    Obviously the post is from 2009 so just want to know if anything changed since.
    Has anyone found a way to expose pl/sql procedures using XML DB or other approach as a REST POST web services?
    (As the relative low number of calls/hour and also the aim to have the least amount of moving parts therefor looking for a DB centric solution)
    Thanks
    Pete

    I think the post referred to was more an exercise of what could be achieved. The quickest way, nowadays, to get this done with not too much hassle is via APEX

  • Oracle 11g native web services

    Is there any formal explanation about how to configure and create Oracle 11g native web services and how to correctly secure these services? Since Oracle APEX now supports consumption of SOAP and REST web services, it makes sense to have more explanation about creating and securing web services. As many PL/SQL programmers know, it is always not an easy job to develop web services in jDeveloper to work with databases - with all those add-on technologies like jPublisher/Toplink to get tiny things work. It is not easy to find the "how-to" guide about creating and securing Oracle 11g native web services.
    Thanks.
    Andy

    Thanks for the link Tim...it is very useful. I was told that, in APEX 4.2, it will become able to create RESTful web services through APEX - if you run APEX through APEX Listener - by using resource templates in APEX Listener. I will wait for more information about this feature to come out.
    Thanks.

  • Difference of Oracle Application Server Web Services and JDeveloper

    As new to the Webservices my Question is what is difference of:
    - 1. Web Services Assistents in JDeveloper 1.3 (JAXRPC specification, WS-Sec)
    - 2. "Oracle Application Server Web Services" 10.1.2 using WebServicesAssembler (depreciated ?)
    - 3. Apache Soap Server 2 based (deprecated ?)
    When should I use the iAS Assistent and when the JDeveloper one for generation?
    Why don't they use the same stuff?
    Does anyone have some experience for projects on this?
    Thx, Willi
    Have not found any Topic with an explanation on this. If you know someone please point me to that.

    Thanks a lot for clearing this things to me.
    I have to start a web services projects and I am confused which tools to use - JDeveloper Assistents or the WebServicesAssembler (as pointed out before).
    Because I did not find some hints on this (expecpt your ones), it seems to me that I am missing some point or criteria on that I can do such a decision when to use what of those two tools.
    Do I understand you right, that in future JDeveloper and the WebServicesAssembler will use the same .jar files and also generate the same code?

  • Return Data from Oracle using a web service in AXIS - please help

    Hi Forum,
    I am very new to web services and Java tech. and recently I have been assigned to work with technology and I am struggling to learn it and need your help and assistance.
    I am trying to return some data from a an oracle database but I have to do that using a web service and I am using AXIS. For example below is a simple program that returns two columns for the demo EMP table
    import java.sql.*;
    class emp {
    public static void main(String args[])
    throws ClassNotFoundException, SQLException {
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    // or you can use:
    // DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl","scott", "tiger");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement( );
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("select * from emp");
    while(rset.next( )) {
    System.out.println(rset.getString(1));
    System.out.println(rset.getString(2));
    rset.close( );
    stmt.close( );
    conn.close( );
    } but I do not know how to convert this into a web service.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Invoking a web service from ODI

    Hi All,
    I am using the Odi Invoke Web Sevice functionality to inoke a web service(BPEL). I was able to successfully invoke this in couple of environments. The same code deployed in a particular environment is failing at this stage with an error message:
    java.lang.Exception: Oracle Data Integrator Function does not exist.
    Later i found out that when i import the Scenario file the OdiInvokeWebService part gets cut in the Scenario xml file. When i export this Scenarion that i had imported, to my local folder i can view this part cut.
    The exact error message is:
    java.lang.Exception: Oracle Data Integrator Function does not exist

    Hi Ahsan,
    You can directly copy WSDL URL and paste it in OdiinvokeWebservice tool (readymade tool) on ODI.
    before doing it, please copy same WSDL URL and paste it on IE and check whether the application server is up and running fine.
    once it fine, do what I said above.
    Please let me know exact your requirement.
    Thanks,
    Phani

  • Web services in ODI

    I have ODI 10.1.3.5 on on redhat linux,
    oracle database 10g on redhat linux
    I need to create the webservices
    what are the softwares i need to install and
    what are the steps i need to do.

    What web servives are you trying to use?
    ODI provides a generic invocation api, which allows you to initiate the execution of any scenario on an agent, through the use of ODI Piblic Web Services. The second kind of services provided are the table-level data access services.
    For both of these you need to have a J2EE container into which you have loaded the Axis2 fromework (version 1.2). You can then load the ODI Public Web Services aar file, which is all that's required for Public web services.
    For the data acess services, you will need to configure the Axis server in your ODI topology, configure the data sources in the J2EE server, and then you will be able to generate and deploy the data access services from your data models in Designer.
    All of these steps are documented installation guide which comes in the documentation (snps_setup.pdf)
