Hi User,
you need to look for customizing the UI shell template.
here are few articles may help you to customize the default UI shell template.

  • [Dynamic Tabs UI Shell Template] Access AM from main page

    Hi
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1
    I have a doubt about UI Shell Template. I'm using this template and this user data map implementation to store user preferences:
       http://andrejusb.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/solution-for-sharing-global-user-data.html
    I use this solution because I need to share the user language in the view layer and the BC layer (some viewObjects depend of language)
    I have a use case where I need to change the user data map from a managed bean (the user changes your favorite language from UI). Because I use the UI Shell template with several BTF in ADF libraries I don't know how can I access the application modules of these BTFs or the DataControls from the managed bean in the main project that contain the home page based on the UI Shell Template.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Dynamic Tab UI Shell: controlling the Close icon

    Hi,
    When I open dynamic Tab in page, along with the Tab, close icon will appear to close the Tab.
    By default I have to show a Tab that should not be closed at any time.
    Could anybody suggest how to implement this?
    Thanks,
    Vinod

    The source code for the UI Shell is available here (search for .zip in the page): http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/uishell-093084.html
    Basically make your own cut of the shell, and add whatever functionality you want to the page template.

  • Dynamic Tab UI Shell: Navigation inside Tab

    Hi,
    By using Dynamic Tab UI shell, I have created a page, inside this page, task flows are opened as Tabs.
    I have opened two tabs TabA and TabB.
    I clicked on TabA, press keyboard tab, it goes to TabB instead of navigating inside TabA.
    I could navigate to last opened tab's contents only.
    Could anybody suggest how can I navigate inside a Tab, instead of navigating to all the opened tabs.
    Thanks,
    Vinod

    Sorry for so much delay. Finally, got some time to play with the template and downloading the dynamicTabTemplate source code and overriding the closeIcon worked like a charm.
    Let me summarize what I did to help someone who is looking for this :)
    1) Downloaded the source code for dynamicTabTemplate
    2) Added and additional attribute closeTab to the template
    +<attribute>+
    +<attribute-name>closeTab</attribute-name>+
    +<attribute-class>java.lang.String</attribute-class>+
    +<required>+
    true
    +</required>+
    +</attribute>+
    2) edited the dynamicTabShell.jspx, closeIcon commanlink actionListener to be bound to "#{viewScope.tabContext.closeIcon}"
    3) Implemented the closeIcon method in TabContext
    +@Override+
    +public void closeIcon(ActionEvent actionEvent) {+
    CloseIconInterface bean = getBean();
    bean.closeIcon(actionEvent);
    +}+
    4) Generated the jar.
    5) Removed the oracle provided default dynamicTabTemplate jar and instead added my custom generated jar to the application
    6) Applied the new template
    7) Set all the attributes along with the new closeTab attribute. This would take the BackingBean name...example: <f:attribute name="closeTab" value="#{xxxScope.xxxBean}"/>
    8) Made xxxBean to implement CloseTabInterface
    9) Implemented the closeIcon method with custom code to confirm page close before removing the Tab.
    However like you said, i'll keep tab on future updates to the default tab template updates to not miss any bug fixes or enhancements.
    Thanks everyone who looked into this for me and Hope this helps someone else :)...Good luck !

  • Dynamic Tab UI Shell - close tab action & number of open tabs control

    Hi,
    I browsed through the forum, but could not get hold of any concrete solution for the question on how to capture the close tab action event and perform some action on that?
    The below thread discusses my question but does not appear to have a proper solution
    Re: Dynamic Tab UI Shell: controlling the Close icon
    And one other question is, currently in the TabContext the number of open tabs is set to 15 limit. How can I override that such that I do not allow more than 7 tabs open at a time?
    Please help me with the above two queries. Thanks !

  • JSF Page Fragment based on Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template

    Hi
    JDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    Can we create a JSF Page Fragment (jsff) based on an Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template ?
    I tried to create this jsff page and added in a bounded taskflow.
    In the create jsff wizard, it will allow us to select the Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template, but when trying to use this taskflow in the another page (jspx), it is giving the following exception.
    javax.faces.FacesException: javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Target Unreachable, 'tabContext' returned null
    at com.sun.faces.application.ApplicationImpl.createComponent(ApplicationImpl.java:261)
    at javax.faces.webapp.UIComponentELTag.createComponent(UIComponentELTag.java:222)
    Basically the reason why I am trying to do like this is that I have to simply drop the taskflow in a page as a region.
    The ViewController project code will only be created as an ADF Library Jar File and be used in other projects
    (it will not be deployed as a web application (war))
    More about the requirement:
    I have a BPM Application in which I have 2 ADF ViewController projects, one for only BPM Human Task related UI and another for only ADF functionality.
    I am writing a custom BPM Workspace kind of ADF Application and want the UI to be based on the Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell Template.
    ADF ViewController project is deployed only as a ADF Library Jar file.
    Another advantage I can have is I can test my ADF code within JDeveloper.
    (If I create a jspx page based Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell Template in the BPM Human Task Related UI project, I will not be able to run it in JDeveloper and test it.
    Otherwise I have to deploy to the SOA environment each time I make a change)
    Thanks for any help.
    Sameer

    Hi,
    the dynamic tab shell template can only be used with top level (JSPX) pages (in 12c also with Facelet pages). There is no configuration for templates that would make the JDeveloper IDE to not show the template of the selected page is a fragment.

  • Latest Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell (Dynamic Tabs UI Shell ) Source/JAR

    Hi,
    Please can any body provide the link where i can get the Latest Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell (Dynamic Tabs UI Shell ).
    Reg,
    Brahma B.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your reply..
    I got the jar for UI Shell from the link you have provided. Here am trying to create my own TabContext by extending the existed one in the jar file.But jar contains the Tabcontext as final so am not able to extend and create my own CustomTabcontext.
    While i started working with tabcontext i got the source of UI Shell(first version) and i added some code in Tabcontext itself for achieving some functionality as per the requirement like dirty checking and displaying the dailog like Do you want save changes with some buttons. Now i want to use the latest Ui Shell Tab By including by code as well.
    Please can you give any suggestion how can i proceed here.

  • Common Toolbar for Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell

    Hi All,
    I am trying to develop an application with Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell, which contains a common toolbar as given below:
    http://www.cijoint.fr/cj201008/cij0mTgi6V.jpg
    This Common toolbar contains common functionalities like save, print etc. When user clicks on these buttons, i want to activate similar actions in currently selected tab. Toolbar is not part of tabbed region, it is under innerToolbar facet which is part of main page. I am looking forward for general solution parent page activating events under currently selected tab region.
    Can anybody suggest me which is the better way to implement it.
    Many Thanks,
    Santhosh

    Hi Pramod,
    Have you tried setting the Transaction attributes of your task-flow? Open up your task flow definition then go to Overview Tab. Try changing the appropriate attributes like setting the transaction as "Always Begin New Transaction" and/or unchecking the "Share data controls with calling task- flow". Try to mix settings and find the one that suit your needs.

  • How to verify transaction state under a tab in Dynamic Tabs UI Shell?

    Hi,
    I'm using Dynamic Tabs UI Shell to load taskflows under dynamic tabs. If a particular taskflow under a tab becomes dirty, upon close I should warn the user. What is the best way I could check if this particular taskflow has become dirty?

    Hi Pino,
    Thanks for the reply.
    The given URL only handles scenarios assuming a region from a flow has no flow embedded within it. And it seems to be not a generic approach to handle dynamic tab close.
    I'd worked on a similar but more generic approach which could of use to this thread watchers, hence posting the code:
    In the method that is invoked on tab close:
    boolean isTransDirty = false; // holds the transaction state of the dynamic tab content for which close event is fired
    try{
    DCBindingContainer dcBindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer) AdfUtils.resolveExpression("#{bindings}");
    dcBindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)dcBindingContainer.getExecutableBindings().get(this.getSelectedTabIndex());
    if(dcBindingContainer != null){
    for( Object exeBinding : dcBindingContainer.getExecutableBindings() ) {
    isTransDirty = isTransDirty(exeBinding);
    if(isTransDirty){
    break;
    System.out.println(" is Trans Dirty : " + isTransDirty);
    }catch(Exception e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    // method isTransDirty(Object ..)
    private boolean isTransDirty(Object exeBinding){
    boolean isDirty = false;
    try{
    if(exeBinding instanceof JUIteratorBinding ){
    JUIteratorBinding juIteratorBinding = (JUIteratorBinding) exeBinding;
    System.out.println(" Iterator : " juIteratorBinding.getName() "\t" + "D.C : " + juIteratorBinding.getDataControl().getName());
    isDirty = juIteratorBinding.getDataControl().isTransactionDirty();
    if(isDirty){
    System.out.println(" Dirty because of " + juIteratorBinding.getName());
    return isDirty;
    }else if(exeBinding instanceof DCTaskFlowBinding){
    DCTaskFlowBinding dcTaskFlowBinding = (DCTaskFlowBinding) exeBinding;
    for( Object taskflowExeBinding : dcTaskFlowBinding.getExecutableBindings() ) {
    isDirty = isTransDirty(taskflowExeBinding);
    if(isDirty){
    return isDirty;
    }else if(exeBinding instanceof JUFormBinding){
    JUFormBinding jUFormBinding = (JUFormBinding) exeBinding;
    for( Object juFormIterBind : jUFormBinding.getIterBindingList() ) {
    isDirty = isTransDirty(juFormIterBind);
    if(isDirty){
    return isDirty;
    for( Object juFormExeBinding : jUFormBinding.getExecutableBindings() ) {

  • Can I customize or extend "Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell" template?

    Hi UI Team.
    I’ve read
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/patterns/11/uishell.html
    and it’s helpful.
    But there could be requirement to customize this template. Could you
    provide JDeveloper project for this template?
    “Oracle” logo and other logo via logoImagePath attribute are shown repeatedly but “Oracle” logo
    disappeared(working fine) at runtime.
    Regards.

    Hi msjo,
    I am not from UI Team but I know that you could have access to the UI Shell Template Project if you have an active Oracle Service Support contract. The source is included in the latest ADF Source Code. If you don't, you can find ways if you will read the following discussion on UI Shell. Oracle UI Shell Functional Pattern

  • Why is the Application Tab so different from the rest of iTune?

    It feels like the Applications tab is not from Apple. Is it done by a outsourcing company in China? There is no consistency between this tab with the rest of iTune. Is there a design theme across all parts of iTune? Why there is no list view for the Apps?
    One thing I miss much is the ability to check off an App so that it will not sync to my iPhone. The same way that I can decide with song go to my iPod. Since the iPhone only has 144 slot for applications, it is important to have such selection ability. The other thing I miss is the rating. I'd like to rate the applications so that if I have purchased more than one version of the same kind of app, I can choose which goes to my iPhone based on my own rating. I also want to be able to sort the Apps by category in the list view. How about folders that each corresponds to one page on the iPhone? The way to reorganize the Apps icons is just a pain after you have more than a few pages.

    Hi LaiPod
    These are good suggestions, I suggest sending feedback to apple via: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • When I open new tabs, how do I set my tabs to open to the same web page every time?

    I have my home page set, but I don't see an option to set what site my tabs open with. I did have a website opening in my tabs, but it wasn't a change I made. According to one of the help articles, an extension may have changed what site kept appearing in new tabs. Now, my tabs are back to the eight tiles, but I'd like to set them to a specific website. How do I make this change to my tabs?

    You will have to open the <b>about:config</b> page and set the new tab page by changing the value of the browser.newtab.url pref via the right-click context menu as stated in the KB article.
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

    when cutting and pasting in yahoo email, as i push paste, the rest of the page goes into and is replaced by what i paste, instead of bein added to

    The ChromEdit Plus extension automatically creates a '''user.js''' ''(and the other 2 "user" files)'' upon installation, and it provides an interface within Firefox for editing those "user" files.
    http://webdesigns.ms11.net/chromeditp.html
    It makes it so you don't have to go hunting around for your Profile folder whenever you want to edit those "user" files by allowing you to access those files from within Firefox while it is running.
    FYI, this support article might be a little more helpful for doing the user.js file manually than what you cited as having read. <br />

  • Dynamic DataTable without validation of the rest of the form

    I'm having a bit of trouble implementing a piece of functionality with JSF and I'm hoping someone here will have some insight into how to accomplish this.
    I have a quite large form, with some fields requiring quite complex and expensive (both performance and actual money) validation (e.g. calling external web services, etc.). For the sake of the explanation, let's say the user enters details about himself, such as name, social security number, address, etc. Along with his details, he's to enter a limited subset of the details for each of his children (say name and social security number). We do not know at design time how many children the user has (obviously), so this part of the form has to be dynamically generated. Validation is performed on these children fields as well, so the user needs to be able to edit and remove children from the form.
    Prior to JSF (straight JSP), I used DHTML and a naming scheme for these records with a custom setters in the backing beans.
    What I have tried with JSF is to have a DataTable backed by a List. This table contains a single "Add Child" button which adds a new empty row to the table. There is also a "Remove" button for each row.
    This works just great as long as I allow all other fields in the form to validate each time the user clicks the button. However, as I stated before, these validations are very very expensive (transaction based costs) . Additionally, I do not want to force the user to fill in all the other required fields (close to 40) before he can go on with the children.
    Now, setting immediate="true" on the commandButton elements solves the problem of the other form fields validating. However, now the Children in the DataTable are never set because the update model values phase is never invoked, leaving me with empty input fields. I really do not care in this instance whether the data for the Children is valid or not, I just need to get them into the form.
    I can think of at least three possible solutions:
    1) Split up the form into several pages, like a wizard. However, the customer has rejected this option.
    2) Somehow simplify the Children section by providing a single entry and a read-only table. This way I can use a simpler read-only table and I can extract the values from the request parameters directly. However, this complicated the editing of previously entered Children. To make things worse, the order of the children has to remain intact.
    3) Create a custom HtmlInputText component that sets the values regardless of whether immediate="true" or "false".
    It is this last option that I do not know how to do. Which methods would I need to override in order to get the values to be set in my bounded Children object regardless of the immediate flag?
    And of course, if anybody has any other design suggestions I'm open to them!
    Thanks in advance!
    /Kris

    nboudani , let me answer your question first. The page does have a Submit button. It also has "Add Child" and "Remove Child", and some others as well. The Submit button has immediate="false". I also need form validation for interdependent form fileds (e.g. either Passport number or social security number are required), so I'm using the "hidden input field at the bottom of the form trick". This all works well enough.
    OK, I got partway there. jaguar2010's mention of valueChangeListener made me investigate that further. So what I did was twofold. Set the immediate attribute to true for the inputText elements in question (for the Children data) as well as for the commandButton (as before). Also, add a valueChangeListener for each of the Children which simply calls updateModel.
    So, view code:
    <h:inputText id="cName"
                           valueChangeListener="#{testBean.procCNameValueChanged}"
                           value="#{child.name}"
                           required="true"
                           immediate="true"/>
    <h:inputText id="cSS"
                           valueChangeListener="#{testBean.processCSSValueChanged}"
                           value="#{child.ss}"
                           validator="#{testBean.validateCSS}"
                           immediate="true"/>
    <h:commandButton action="#{testBean.addChild}" immediate="true" value="Add Child"/>
    ...bean code:
    public void procCNameValueChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {
        HtmlInputText sender = (HtmlInputText) event.getComponent();
        sender.updateModel(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
    }So, that does take care of the problem with the model not updating. However, there are a bunch of other problems still left to be resolved. For instance, as you'll notice, there is a validator attached to one of the inputs. If this validation fails, the invalid text is not put back in the input field. I can't temember now, but I think that is because the valueChangeListener is not called in that case, so the model is not updated. Sigh...
    Another problem is that for each row in the data model's table, there is a "Remove" button (not shown in above code) to enable the user to remove an entry from the list of children. Well, because JSF process events in the order of their appearance in the view code, an exeption is thrown if the removed row is not the last one, and the last row has not been "saved" yet. That is, the valueChangeListener has not been called on the last row. What happens is that first the action method for the remove button is called, then the valueChangeListener for the last row is called. But by the time the valueChangeListener event is fired, the last row has chaned its index (because the remove action method was called first) and apparently this fact has escaped JSF so it throws an exception (property not found or something).
    I'm starting to wonder if JSF is the wrong technology for complex forms. Just seems to want to do too much for me, assuming I have a simple form.

  • How to I get new tabs to open to the correct home page?

    When I open new tabs they just go to a Google Search page, which is very frustrating, especially when I open a new tab and try to type in the URL bar but as soon as it finishes loading Google it blanks out what I typed in and goes to the Google site. In other words, "blank" new tabs do not open to the Favorites page or even my home page. They open to Google. How do I change that? In other words, how do I get new tabs to stop opening to Google and start opening to either my home page or the Favorites screen? Thanks!
