Oracle's GPL cluster, firewire, etc downloads

Hi,
Has anyone been able to find and download the Linux cluster, firewire, and other software that Oracle has GPL'd in August? I can find the website where it is discussed, but that references a separate "hosts" for each package that I cant seem to get to, like the following:
linux.otncast.otnxchange.oracle.com
linux1394.otncast.otnxchange.oracle.com
iofence.otncast.otnxchange.oracle.com
...etc... one for each "project"
Im interested to try these out, especially since it looks like I can use a firewire drive rather than fibrechannel to test it. Thanks! -Mark

  • Oracle Linux HA cluster!!

    Dear all
i am planning to implement an Oracle database HA cluster on linux. Following are the servers i am currently having.
    1) Oracle 10 G database server on RHEL3
    2) Oracle 10G backup server on RHEL3
    3) Two Application servers running oracle 9IAS on RHEL3
I am planning to build a HA cluster with 4 node failover and loadbalancing with two database servers and two application servers.
Following is the setup i am thinking of
Two Oracle 10 G database server with failover and failback + Two Oracle 9i Application servers with service failover and failback.
All the four server are connected to the SAN storage through SAN Switch.
is it possible for me to have the following functionalities in the cluster?
    a) If any one of the database server fails, the other server should take over
    b) if any one of the application server fails, the other application server should run the failed service.
    c) All the four nodes should be communicating to each other ,ie two database servers and two application servers.
Whether this type of a cluster is possible using Oracle 9i RAC ? kindly advise
    regds

Yes there is some additional steps
if you are doing clustering this should be your bible

  • I can no longer download any NPR podcasts I subscribe to. I can download and listen to other podcasts but none from NPR.  I have tried on Windows 7 and Windows 8.  Other podcasts, music etc. download fine.

I can no longer download any NPR podcasts I subscribe to.
I can download and listen to other podcasts but none from NPR.
I have tried downloading the podcasts on computers that run Windows 7 and Windows 8.  Other podcasts, music etc. download fine.
    iTunes version:  11.3.0.54
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling iTunes and I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the podcasts.
I don't have trouble getting NPR podcasts from the store. I just can't play them in iTunes.

For additional context and to verify if we are talking about the same behavior.  Here is what the download screen looks like on my iPod:

  • Starting Oracle XE on linux by /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start

    Hello,
I installed Oracle Database 10g Express Edition on a Linux Ubuntu 7.04 (feisty)
following official installation instructions found here
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/files/install.102/b25144/toc.htm#BABCEAHD
but I noticed a weird behavior.
    The installation process was ok.
The configuration process (/etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure) was also ok.
I set everything on default except for the “starting on boot” option I choose NO, because the instructions let me understand that I can start the service manually by the command:
    $ /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
The configuration process at the end also started the service well, so I could test my new oracle installation on my web browser following the url http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
    Everything went fine... but...
On the next boot I wanted to start my oracle so I typed
    sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
but nothing happened and the server didn't go up.
    Looking into to script /etc/init.d/oracle-xe
    we can find this switch
    case "$1" in
    start)
         if test -f "$CONFIGURATION"
         then
              if test "$ORACLE_DBENABLED" != "true"
              then
                   exit 0
              fi
         else
echo "Oracle Database 10g Express Edition is not configured. You must run
'/etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure' as the root user to configure the database."
              exit 0
         fi
         start
this means that if you chose NO (N) for the “starting on boot” option on the configuration process (NB this choice put false in the env variable ORACLE_DBENABLED) you can't start the dbms by this script.
I try comment the few lines
         then
              #if test "$ORACLE_DBENABLED" != "true"
              #then
              #     exit 0
              #fi
         else
and this time the server starts well.
So I deduced that something was wrong with the script and the official installation instructions.

    Yes... Thank you.
But I saw the problem could to be simple avoided using the options
    enable/disable for the script /etc/init.d/oracle-xe,
If you choose not to start oracle at boot time, you can start it
    manually by the sequence
    /etc/init.d/oracle-xe enable
    /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
then when you want to stop it
    /etc/init.d/oracle-xe stop
    /etc/init.d/oracle-xe disable
by this last command we don't make oracle restart
    at the next system boot.
I think it would be a good thing to update the reference
    documentation at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/files/install.102/b25144/toc.htm#BABCEAHD
    to explain this situation better.

  • OracleAS cold failover cluster

I am installing oracleAS cold failover cluster. but during installing a am getting error in database configuration
    assistant. can anybody help me?

This is as simple as "Two heads think better that once", for this you will have two points (or more) of access to your applications, the process are split between servers and if one of the nodes fails, there are other to backup them. That's the only think that a Cold Fail Over cluster does, as well the administration is centralized if you have a nice configuration you will need to do only one configuration and all nodes will notice about it, finaly when you have a cold fail over cluster you have 50% of your potential workload in use, you have a server as a portrait that only is good to look at it but doesn't do nothing else, you dont need benchmarks or notes, this is really simple as it sounds.
    Greetings.

  • How to analyze the navigation flow in Oracle Portal, Number of unique users, downloads and other estastisticas of use of the Portal and Documents

    Dear
Experts, I have a very exciting demand, the board of a customer.
I need to create an analytical application on Oracle Portal, UCM, Spaces, WebCenter, to inform me which quantitatively pages, url and documents are accessed.
How to analyze the navigation flow in Oracle Portal, Number of unique users, downloads and other estastisticas of use of the Portal and Documents?
I thought I'd create a ods with the data of Content Tracker and Google Analytics, and model the analysis through the BIEE.
I ask, what is the standard solution that is used in these cases?
    Thank you

  • Install Oracle BAM in cluster

    Hi,
I need install ORACLE BAM in cluster. I need help or documentation.
    Thanks,
    Marcio

Based on the 10g Features by Edition document
    http://www.oracle.com/database/product_editions.html
it appears that FailSafe is included with your enterprise edition license. What I don't know, and what you'd probably need to discuss with your Oracle Sales rep, would be how licensing works in that environment. I don't know whether you would need to license all the CPUs in all the machines in the cluster or only on one node.

  • Oracle on Windows Cluster

I have made a cluster of two windows based server and deployed Oracle 10g Database on both servers. Both databases are point to Virtual IP of Server. At a time only one instance of Oracle is up but when Oracle up instance is get down how second Oracle Instance will get up?
please let me know in this case i can make another instance up manually or there is another way to make instance auto up?
Kindly let me know in detail with steps
    Thanks,
    Waheed

Yes....if there is a failure on the primary node. It works in conjunction with Microsoft cluster services and 'transfers' the instance (also the listener, EM etc) to the other available node.

  • Oracle Weblogic 11g Cluster on two seperate unix machine

    hi to all,
Can any one plz provide help how to create cluster having managed servers on different machine , in full details.
    Thanks

Steps to set-up clusters using the admin console can be found here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/clusters/ClusterRoadmap.html
Steps to configure machine using the admin console can be found here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/machines/ConfigureMachines.html
You still need to perform the pack and unpack steps, as described in the blog.

  • Cluster Ready Services Download

Could someone tell me where to find the download for release 2 is. I have CRS for release 1 but I can't seem to find it for R2.(Is this something I must buy now?)
    Thank you

Bring up the big Downloads page. (Big red button in the heading gets you there)
Nowadays the product's called Clusterware, because "With Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2), Cluster Ready Services, or CRS, is now called Oracle Clusterware.".

  • Oracle 9.2.0.4.0 Download for Linux - Disk2 corrupt

I have tried downloading Oracle 9.2.0.4.0 Database for Linux . Disk 1 and 3 are good, but Disk 2 gets a bad crc error when gunzip'ing. I have re-downloaded 3 times and get the same error.
    Can anyone help (Oracle themselves?)
    Donovan

No Luck. I used GetRight as a download manager as suggested and still get the same error. I have used Winrar to extract the .gz as well as gunzip on Linux.
    Winrar error message is:
! C:\ISO-Images\Oracle9i Database\Linux\ship_9204_linux_disk2.cpio.gz: CRC failed in ship_9204_linux_disk2.cpio. The file is corrupt
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
