Oracle XML Editor

Hi All,
I am new to XML Publisher reports.
Is there any editor which can write XML code for XML Publisher reports designed for Oracle Application?
Appreciate any help or pointer to the help.
Thanks,
- CAH

need additional details, what is your intention and purpose? Is it for Check Writer/Deposit Advice or something else?
Thanks,

  • Bug in Oracle XML Parser?

    I have run the same .xsql page using the same .xsl style sheet via URL/Browser and programmatically as referenced in Steve's book. The problem is, the .xsql runs fine via the browser; however, if I call that same file programmatically I get this:
    *** Oracle XSQL Programmatic Page Processor 1.0.4.1 (Production)
    XSQL-005: XSQL page is not well-formed.
    XML parse error at line 5, char 10
    End tag does not match start tag 'META'. ***
    Now I've validated the .xsl using 3 different XML editors including JDeveloper. All return the file as well-formed. By the way, there are no META tags in the style sheet or the xsql page! Bug?

    What happening here is the following:
    When you run through the browser, the http request invokes the XSQL Servlet, the XSQL page template is found (typically in the cache if it's the 2nd or subsequent time you're asking for the page), and then the result is returned. Everything fine.
    When you run through the XSQLRequest class, you are providing a URL to the "raw" XSQL page of "http://foo/bar.xsql". The XSQL Page processor fetches what it's expecting to be the "raw" template XSQL page by retrieving the resource at the given URL. However, since the URL ends with *.xsql, the request for the *.xsql file does NOT return the raw XSQL page template that the XSQLRequest class is expecting, but instead the server processes the template on the server side and returns the result of processing the bar.xsql page to the XSQLRequest class. Since apparently your XSLT stylesheet if producing HTML, what the XSQLRequest class sees for the "raw" XSQL page template is actually the resulting HTML produced by the web server and since this is not wellformed XML, it gives this error.
    The solution, either provide the URL to the bar.xsql page as a file URL, or change the extension on the template page to any extension other than *.xsql so that the template won't get processed by the web server before its delivered.

  • Online XML editor?

    Hi
    I am looking for an JSF component or framework which allows editing XML documents online in the browser.
    I found the tags richTextEditor and richTextEditorInsertBehavior, but thats out of the box only for text editing.
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/
    My wish list:
    - platform Win XP + IE6
    - XSD validation, marking erros, etc.
    - Intellisense feature e.g. suggestions in XML document for possible XSD values ...
    Until now I found:
    - http://www.bitfluxeditor.org/
    - http://www.ektron.com/ewebeditproxml.aspx
    - http://xopus.com/xopus-web-based-wysiwyg-xml-editor.html
    Someone used richTextEditor as online XML editor? Other advices ...?
    If I remember correctly than exists editing possiblities in the Oracle Enterprise Manager for XML documents of the application server? What framework is under the hood?
    Best regards

  • B2B-50029:  B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

    Dear All,
    I am a beginner to Oracle B2B.
    I have created an agreement to Recieve 852, Product Activity data(POS) from one of the Trading partner. This is an inbound process.
    A  SOA composite application is created to Recieve the data and insert into perticular columns of the database table using database adapter.
    I have tested the Interface with some couple of file and it went perfect without any error. Now I have to test the interface with some other files.
    This time also I am not getting any error in Business Message, Wire message and Application message but the composite application is not picked.
    The log file shows : B2B-50029: B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParserException: Start of root element expected.
    Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue. it will be of great help.

    Hello,
    Just a thought, When I had the similar problem, it appeared to be a BOM (Byte order mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in the xml file, which is the very first character in the xml file, so the file was not identified to be a valid xml file. Removing the BOM from the xml file fixed my problem, however, I did not spend much time in fixing using B2B, the vendor  (sender of the file) fixed the file and started sending without BOM. So my work was easier.
    The character is not visible in all XML editors, however, it was visible in JDeveloper. I used a tool to identify and remove during testing until the vendor fixed the file, the tool is called file bom detector,http://www.bryntyounce.com/filebomdetector.htm
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    Venkatesh

  • JDEV 10.1.3  XML Editor does not load XML file

    I am trying to edit a large (300MB+) xml file with JDEV 10.1.3 running on a Windows XP Pro workstation with a 2.8 ghz processor and 1GB of memory. The XML file has application data in it. The file loads just fine into the Oracle database using the XML Developer's toolkit so I don't thing there is anything wrong with the XML.
    I'm finding that the XML editor does not load the file. Many minutes elapse, then JDEV appears to simply give up - JDEV is no longer busy. There's no XML data to edit - that window is empty. There are no error messages displayed.
    I'm new to JDEV so I need to know if there is an error log file I should examine.
    BTW, other XML editors (XML Spy, Stylus Studio, etc) simply run out of memory and lock up the machine - it appears they are tryign to convert the XML file contents into 32-bit unicode in memory, build a list of pointers to impose a DOM-like structure, and then load their editor.

    Do you really want to manually edit the 300MB file? how much scrolling will you need to do to get to the last row?
    In any case it is likely that JDeveloper also runs out of memory - you can try running the [jdev-root]\jdev\bin\jdev.exe file and see if you get any error message in the log window.

    No, it is not built on top of Netbeans. The plugin framework is JPF(http://jpf.sourceforge.net) and the docking framework is vldocking(http://www.vlsolutions.com/en/products/docking/).
    XPontus XML Editor is a standalone Java Swing application for now. The integration with Netbeans and Eclipse is planned for future releases. That will depends on the team's knowledge of Netbeans Platform and SWT.

  • Weaknesses I've come across in the Oracle XML/XSL implementation

    Weaknesses I've come across in the Oracle XML/XSL implementation
    NOTE: I think Oracle is a fantastic database and the XML implementation is lovely to use - also I know these are not limited to XE and also that some are fixed in 11g enterprise however I'm not sure if all are so I am posting here in the hope that Oracle will include fixes for all if any have been missed
    1. getclobval() returns a spurious carriage return on end of the value returned
    2. extract does not handle mixed content tags well (for example it simply discards tags that only have whitespace between them
    3. XSL: using a xsl:number level="multiple" with anything beyond a simple count= xpath value crashes the database completely
    4. XSL: insists on pretty printing output XML which is extremely odd behaviour and causes problems when dealing with mixed content

    Another weakness I've seen is with the appendchildxml function and mixed content xml - it appears to likewise pretty print XML causing the injection of carriage returns and whitespace into mixed content nodes

    I was able to correct the error. The data contained an '&' sign and that was causing the xml parser to fail with the above error. If the & is replaced by a different character other than & then this error does not occur.

  • Unable to load Oracle XML SQL utility

    The following error appears for each java
    class, when we attempt to load Oracle XML sql
    utility into Oracle using the oraclexmlsqlload
    script:
    E.g.
    Error while resolving class OracleXMLStore
    ORA-00904: invalid column name
    Does anyone know why we would receive this error?
    Platform: Hp-UX 11.0
    Oracle Version: 8.1.5.0
    Background information:
    The database was original created with the
    compatible=8.0.5 set in the init.ora file, and
    the creatation of java classes failed due to this,
    so switched compatible to 8.1.0. Now after we
    we adjusted the compatible setting and restarted
    database, we started to receive the errors as
    described above.

    Murali,
    Thank you, after I initialized Oracle's javavm
    the errors disappeared.
    The scripts were located under the javavm/install
    directory.
    Thanks again.

  • How to print Barcode data in Oracle XML Publisher Report

    Hi,
    We have an rdf report which prints Bar code in the starting page based on a custom procedure from MarkView. It works well with Oracle Reports.
    But since the current report was a matrix report, we are changing it to a Linear report through Oracle XML Publisher Report.
    We have all the things possible in the new Oracle XML Report.. But we are unable to print the Bar code data which is BLOB in the XML Report..
    Can anyone help me on this? We have UAT dates around the corner..
    We have an RTF Template .
    Help asap.
    Thanks

  • Why the oracle XML parser "parses" the DTD comments?

    Hi all,
    I always use the header
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1' ?>
    to be able to use foreign characters in the XML documents.
    The oracle xml parser handles this correctly.
    My problem is, when I write comments inside the DTD, the
    parser reports "Invalid UTF8 encoding".
    Why the parser "parse" the comments? (protected by <!-- and -->)
    How do I say that the DTD encoding is different from UTF, like
    ISO-8859-1?
    Example of a correct DTD and corresponding XML, reporting
    problems, related to the 2nd comment in the DTD specification,
    written with ISO-8859-1 characters.
    The DTD:
    <!-- valid.dtd -->
    <!ELEMENT valid ( B, C ) >
    <!-- valid represents the concept "Identificagco" -->
    <!ELEMENT B (#PCDATA) >
    <!ELEMENT C (#PCDATA) >
    The XML:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1' ?>
    <!DOCTYPE valid SYSTEM 'valid.dtd'>
    <valid>
    <B>How are you, Conceigco</B>
    <C>I'm fine, thank you.</C>
    </valid>
    The parser output:
    [jgr@frontera test-dtd]$ java oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxml -v
    valid.xml
    Error while parsing input sourcevalid.xml(Invalid UTF8 encoding.)
    Thank you for any help.
    Jorge Gustavo Rocha

    I was wrong in saying that the attributes are not added to the element.My main aim is to add a array of elements to the root node.
    Is there a efficient manner in adding the elements , rather than adding them individually with the help of appendChild method.
    Thanks in advance.

    On further test, If I let the default oracle xml parser be loaded, then I do not get the the exception.
    I have removed the following lines from orion-application.xml
         <imported-shared-libraries>
              <remove-inherited name="oracle.xml"/>
         </imported-shared-libraries>
    Now, If I access the JPDK provider URL
    http://ple-fjunod.peoplesoft.com:9820/pspc/providers/psprovider/ps/EMPLOYEE
    I get the excepted page
    Congratulations! You have successfully reached your Provider's Test Page.

    Recognizing component versions...
    ptlshare.jar version: 10.1.3.2.0
    pdkjava.jar version: 10.1.3.2.0
    Can someone please tell me that if I remove the inherited default oracle XML parser using remove-inherited tag in orion-application.xml, how do I make the JPDK use my own packaged xerces XML parser.
    Thanks
