Ordering a Macbook Pro

Pretty soon I am going to order my Macbook Pro online (custom) because I want a 160Gb hard drive. When apple ships it, does it come in the neat looking Macbook Pro box with the black background and a picture or just a generic box? Don't forget, this is a custom configured so the spec on the usual box won't be what is actually in the laptop.

for the Apple Online Store, it depends upon which country you’re in — the German keyboard is an available option only in some countries. You can visit the Apple Online Store for your country, select the MacBook Pro model that you’re interested in, and see if a German keyboard is offered for it on the configuration page.
If you’re not in a country with a majority German-speaking population, you should call your closest Apple Retail Store to see if they can special-order one for you.

In the US I have not seen a state that allows an individual to claim tax exemption...that is reserved for authorized institutions like public school systems. Only certain states do not have no-sales tax laws. When I lived in France, to be free from VAT one had to be a non-citizen and would be reimbursed for goods that were shipped out of the country upon exiting the country...not while still residing there. That was pretty typical of other European countries at the time, Pre-EU days, that is.

You have to get on line and contact who and where you made the original purchase.
Look at your email receipts.
There is a very small window for cancelling your order.

It's one or the other, not both. There's no room in a MBP for two drives (other than the optical drive.)

Since you're ordering both the computer & AppleCare directly from Apple, Apple Care will automatically be registerd. Thus, nothing for you to do other than enjoy your computer.

I'm going to the US for the holidays this year (I live in Europe), and want to buy a MacBook Pro there since it's around $500 cheaper. I know people can order a product online and have it delivered at a Mac Store, but I don't have a US billing address, so that won't be possible. Do you guys know if I can go to the store, tell them what I want, pay them with my European debit card, and pick it up a couple of days later? In a Swedish, I want to order a Macbook Pro with an US or UK keyboard layout. The Swedish one is very different. Note that I am aware that I can change the keyboard language settings in preferences but this will obviously not change the layout of the actual keyboard.
By some reason, there seem to be numerous threads all over the net about this particular issue but with no definite answer, which is certainly odd considering that the question is simple. So let's solve this mystery once and for all.
Is there an official word on this? Is it possible?

The batteries available in the Apple Online Store are for Late 2008 and older MacBooks Pro, which include removable batteries.
In your case, your MacBook has got an integrated battery which is not designed to replace yourself, so you should take the MacBook to an Apple Retail Store and get your battery replaced for $129.

The Thai online Apple Store lists only Thai and International English as keyboard options, so you can't order a German keyboard from there. I doubt that the German KB is available from Thai resellers either, unless there is one who serves a primarily foreign clientele, and a large part of that clientele is German.
