Organization Setup

Hello all,
I am setting up a complex organization structure in R12 environment which looks like this:
A business group consists of multiple legal entiies and
Each legal entity has multple operating units.
I have to setup in such a way that the users in one operating unit cannot view the data from another operating unit. Is this possible for the below two scenarios -
1. If all the operating units under a legal entity has only one accounting structure
2. If each operating unit has its own structure.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
To be able to view records from other Operating Units (OU), u need to have a SECURITY-PROFILE
HRMS --> Security --> Profile
Create a security profile and assign all the OUs u want to see in a responsibility.
Assign this security profile name in "MO: Security Profile" and "HR: Security Profile" in Profile option screen for your responsibility
Hope this helps,
Vik

  • Can multiple orgs be setup for one account?

    Hi,
Is it possible to have multiple organizations setup for the one account? This is in a sales/campaigns context.
    Thanks.

If you are referring to linking a customer account to multiple parties I don't think it is possible.

  • How can I turn off catalog SYNC in Photoshop Organizer 10?

I am still running version 10.  I would like to change the Organizer setup so it does not think it needs to SYNC with an online backup.  I know I can manually stop the task, but I would like the Organizer to stop trying to perform a sync.
    Thanks!
    Ken

I apologize for the long delay.  You do not understand - when I select Preferences -> Backup/Synchronization - Photoshop requires me to login.  See the screen below.  I suspect Photoshop Elements 10 or something in my configuration is telling the program I must be connected in order to modify this option.  I do recall the website no longer exists.  I never used it anyway.

  • AP: choosing ledgers for multiple organizations

    Hi,
We're using multiple organization support, and I need to select a legder for each organization. How do I do this and in which window?
    Thanks

How and where did you define your organizations? Using accelerators?
I am sure organization setup forms come as shared install. You can try using the seeded responsibilities to access and assign.
    Thanks

  • Setup Dependencies

This question is regarding the the interdependent setups between applications or with in application. How does iSetup handle that? Is that sequence logic is inbuilt into application?
A simple example is HR Locatons and Organizations. In organization setup we assign locations and in location setup we assign organizations. If I use iSetup, if there is sequence, one or the other is going to be missed, unless, I repeat atleast step as update.
Is there support for DFFs? If I have DFF registered against the AR System Options, and I use a value set of order types in OM, will it handle?
Profile options. Some of the profile option values are setup dependent. Say I have a profile whose value is dependent on order type setup. The value of this profile is Standard in source instance (stored in the table fnd_profile_option_values as 1000). When we load that into destination, will iSetup read the value (Standard) based on the ID in the source, bring into the destination, and read the ID based on the value here and set this up?
    Thanks
    Nagamohan

    Hi Nagamohan,
In iSetup release 11i.AZ.H, iSetup Selection Sets have undergone re-structuring to handle these problems. The advantage of having multiple Setup Objects included into common templates is to take care of dependencies that exist between them.
iSetup has the logic built-in to automatically select the Setups in the order of dependencies while Loading into Target instance.
For e.g. We have Selection Sets:
    1. General Foundation: Includes all Foundation Setup Objects for e.g Menus, Users, KFF, DFF, ValueSets etc.,
    2. Product Foundation: Includes all Setups necessary to implement rest of EBS modules, irrespective whether you use them or not (Most common across all modules, Fin, Mfg. etc). For e.g Currencies, Chart Of Accounts, Locations Unit of Measure, LE, OU etc.,
    3. Financials, Discrete Mfg and Distribution, HR Payroll etc.
Within these templates the dependencies are managed by iSetup. All we have to do is pick the right template depending upon the Implementation stage.
For e.g, If you are implementing Financials then, one of the recommended order would be:
    1. General Foundation.
    2. Product Foundation
    3. Financials Setups and / or Financials Operating Unit Setups.
In the above order and you can skip if you have already completed them. For e.g you can skip #1. General Foundation and move directly to 2. Product Foundation, If you have already completed General Foundation by some other means
    Thanks,

  • Internal Requistions Setup

    Hello,
We have the following modules of oracle ERP 11.5.10 installed and implemented: Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Inventory, Oracle HRMS, Oracle Payroll, Oracle Payables, Oracle Fixed Assets,Oracle Cash Management Oracle General Ledger. Besides we have the following installed but not implemented: Oracle Order Management, Oracle Receivables.
I need to know what are the required steps to implement Internal Requistions. Any Guidelines would be very helpful.

    Hi,
    Pre-requisites
    1) It is assumed that the above Organizations have been created in the system and the Costing Method is Average.
    2) The Shipping Execution Setups have been done shipping the Internal Sales Orders.
    Setups
1)The Order Management setups for the Internal Requisitioning Process are as follows:
a.Set up the profile option of OM : Item Flexfield and the Item Master Organization in the parameters window.
b.Define Transaction Types to be used for the Internal Sales Orders using the Navigation Path Setup -> Transaction Types -> Define
The default Order Cycle Workflows can be used for transaction type of the Internal Sales Order. All the Sales Orders created through the Internal requisitioning process will not be eligible for interfacing Invoices to AR.
c.Defining Order Management Number source for Internal Requisitions.
When Order Types are defined, a corresponding Document Sequence Category will automatically be created. Assign a sequence to the Document Category so created using the navigation path of Application -> Document -> Assign in System Administrator Responsibility.
d.Defining a Price List for the Internal Requisition using the navigation path Pricing -> Price Lists -> Price List Setup.
The Internal Requisitions use the Item Cost as the Unit Price. However, it is required to create a Price List and attach it to the Order Transaction type. There is no need to include any items for the Price List defined for the Internal Order.
e.Decide on the default value rules for the Sales Orders.
Order Management comes with a set of default rules for Order Header and Order lines. Check out whether the same suits your needs
    f.Define Inventory Accounting.
Order Management comes with a default Account Generator for COGS Accounting. This can be customized, if required.
2)The Inventory setups for the process are
    a.Define Internally Requested Items
i)Items used in Internal Requisitions must be enabled for Inventory Item, Transactable and Stockable options under Inventory. Under Order Management, you need to select Internal Ordered, Internal Orders Enabled, OE Transactable and Shippable under Order Management.
    b.Define Inter Org Shipping Networks
The Shipping Networks setup in Setup -> Organizations -> Shipping Networks determines the nature and timing of entries in the Source and receiving Organizations. This screen determines the parameters for the transfer of inventory between the Organizations specified.
Transfer Type : The transfer type of “Direct” puts the inventory directly in the requesting Organization.
“Intransit” transfer type moves the Inventory to the Intransit location before it is received at the receiving location.
If the Item is under lot or Serial Control, then the Transfer Type should be “Intransit”.
FOB Setting : The FOB point determines when the ownership of Inventory is transferred between the Organizations. The FOB setting of Shipment creates the Inter Org Receivables and Payables entries on shipment. The FOB setting of Receipt triggers the entries for Inter-Org receivables and Payables only at the time of receipt in the receiving Organization.
Transfer Charge : The transfer charges for the transfer can be None, a predefined % or a requested value or a % as entered in the Transfer, Distance region.
Other Accounts required : Enter the accounts for Transfer Credit (This account is used for collecting Transfer Charges in the Shipping Organization), the Inter Org Payable and Receivable Account and the account for the Intransit Inventory.
The Intransit Inventory Account defaults to the Intransit Inventory Account specified in the Organization parameters of the Shipping Org (if the FOB is receipt) or the Intransit Inventory Account of the Receiving Org (if the FOB is shipment).
    c.Define Item Sourcing
Item Sourcing refers to the setting of the Source Type (Supplier or Inventory) and the Source Organization and an optional Source Sub Inventory while creating an Internal requisition.
Internal requisitions use the following order of precedence to determine the default source type and source for the item and destination:
Sourcing information specified in the item-subinventory relationship
Sourcing information specified in the subinventory definition
Sourcing information specified in the item definition
Sourcing information specified in the organization setup options
3)The Purchasing setups for the process are
a.Defining Internal Requisition Deliver To Sites
Purchasing uses locations to identify the final destination for both inventory and supplier sourced requisitions. The same destination can be used for both purchase and internal requisitions. This location is set up in the Locations screen available under Setup -> Organizations -> Locations in the Inventory responsibility.
For internal requisitioning process, a Customer needs to be created in the Shipping Organization for the Receiving Organization. This Customer needs to have a Ship-To Site corresponding to the Deliver-To location defined in the Receiving Organization.
Though the internal order lines are not invoiced, a Bill To site has to be created for the customer and the Primary flag has to be set to “Yes”. Alternatively, the Ship-To location can also be assigned to the Bill To location.
The Deliver To location created in the receiving Organization is attached to the Customer in the Customer Window of the shipping Organization. The Ship-To location of the receiving Organization needs to be attached in the Internal Region of the Ship-To Business Purpose of the Customer as given below :
    b.Set Internal Requisition Type
This setup involves the setting up of the Approval rules and the Security types for the Internal Requisitions in the receiving Organization.
This is done in Setup -> Purchasing -> Document Types menu of the Purchasing responsibility.
    c.Define Purchasing Options
In the Shipping Organization set the Order type to be used for Internal sales Orders against the Internal requisitions. Purchasing uses this Order type for the creation of Internal Sales Orders.

  • Problem with changing password on macbook pro.

I just realized now that whenever I try to change my password into anything, a screen pops up and says: The password for the account "(my account name)" was not changed. Above is an attachment of more details.

I think you are basically screwed and will need to take the system back to whoever owns it and originally set it up.
This clearly looks like it is NOT YOUR computer but a Schools computer. Otherwise why would you ever let some other person/entity/organization setup a Managed account on a computer YOU OWN?
If it is your computer then take it in to them and ask them to straighten it out and NOT set your username as a regular User.
But if it was me and it was MY computer I'd Wipe the drive, Completely by Repartitioning it, and reinstall the OS and my software. Then I would Never let the school touch MY COMPUTER. As IMHO they have No right fooling with My Admin Account on MY computer. But hey that's just me. To many liberties are being infringed in the quest of security. IMHO
I don't know of any way to change that Managed account. And if I did I would not post it here or tell you in any way, shape or form.
    Good Luck & Best Wishes.
    P.S.
To my knowledge a regular user can not change there password. But then I never deal with limited User Accounts so I honestly don't know whether they can or can't.
    ianhuimac wrote:
Actually, my account was 'verified' by my school. They created an admin account there and left mine to be a normal user without admin rights. So, I used single user mode to create a new admin account, change mine into an admin account and delete theirs. So I guess my account may be managed by that account, but now its deleted.
Is there any way to make my account unmanaged?

  • Error message during SC approval

    Hi Experts,
We are working with SRM 7.0, SP09. I have got an issue in production system. Approver is getting an error message when approving SC as
Execution of Function Module /SAPSRM/FU_WF_RFC_DECISION failed with error 'SAPSRM/CX_PDO_WF_MODE_BAN Action not possible; st'
Surpringly document is approved and follow-on PO is also created and posted in backend.
I suspect problem around role or organizational setup. But not able to simulate the problem in test system and also user attribute check shows all parameters consistent.
Pls share if anyone knows the solution.
    BR,
    Prashant

    Hi,
You can see this issue in two ways,
    1. As you said though the workitem is in error state in the back end the PO is getting created successfully , this could be the because the application configured in the UWL or the worklist  does not have any link with the task result. It could be something that the applicaiton is not validating the status of the workitem.
    2. Now by looking at the error I stringly feel that the error is because the agent who approved the workitem might not have the enough authorizations to take some action on the workitem check SU53 transaction in the back end when ever he tries to approve the workitem so that you can atleast know what is the authorisation he is missing.
In general scenarios after approval of the workitem the result of the action Like approved or rejected might be set back to the workflow container in your case this is not getting set. so please check for the authorizations

  • How to Associate Project and Expenditure Org to Legal Entities

This question is related to the "Derive Legal Entity from Organization Setup" Implementation Option for Intercompany Billing.
Does anyone know how Proj/Exp Orgs are associated to Legal Entities? I believe Legal Entities are defined in GL Accounting Setup Manager, not in HR. So how does the system link a Proj/Exp Org defined in HR to a Legal Entity in GL?
The guide states: "This option provides cross charge for intercompany billing within an operating unit and across legal entities by deriving legal entities from project and expenditure organizations. If an organization is not associated with legal entity establishment, then the legal entity from the operating unit is used by default."
    Regards,
    Adrien

Shaan- the Org Hierarchy is where I can't see the connection: Legal Entities in the org hierarchy are HR organizations, but Legal Entities used in Intercompany Billing setup (e.g. Provider/Receiver Controls page) are GL Legal Entities setup in Accounting Setup Manager. Do you know how does the system connect HR LEs to GL LEs?

  • SRM SUS Supplier operating in more countries?

    Hi all.
    SRM SUS 7.0
We are implementing SRM SUS, and my question is quite simple: A vendor that in ECC has more than 1 purchasing organization, how can I distinguish among those in SUS so that not all contact persons are receiving the PO?
I would expect to simply use either the purchasing org or company code, but the organizational setup for SUS is so limited, that the EKORG og BUK are not even considered.
Supplier ABC operates in EKORG 1 and 2; with 1 overall SAP vendor number. That's standard. In SUS the supplier is created in the PPOMV_BBP with no respect to BUK, and EKORG is not even a parameter/an attribute you can use while creating the vendor org units. When the supplier is replicated to SUS, it is created in PPOMV_BBP. Then you create a contact person in SUS to let SRM know who to send the PO for this vendor number to. However, the contact person does - again - not take either BUK or EKORG into consideration.
I can only see that if you use SAP ECC with 1 overall vendor number for multiple purchasing organizations, then SUS will not be able to distinguish and send the "New PO in SUS" info to the right contact persons, since there seem to be no organizational setup for SRM SUS...
I hope I am overlooking something simple, so any input is valid!

    Hi Sam.
Thanks for the input. However, what you state is not accurate for our scenario at least. In MN04 we simply control the output conditions in ECC - however, for our MM-SUS implementation given our current ECC/SRM releases, we use XML out from ECC and into SRM again; not regular output conditions.
And my issue is still the following:
    Functional scenario:
Supplier called ABC operationg in 2 countries but with 1 overall vendor number
Contact Person 1 created for vendor; this is in pur org 200
Contact Person 2 created for vendor; this is in pur org 300
Contact 1 should only see POs in pur org 200 in SUS; Contact 2 should only see POs in pur org 300 in SUS.
In ECC, this would be vendor ABC and create him in the 2 different pur orgs; no problem. In SUS, however, the vendor master (or BP) does not use the purchasing org in any case. And when creating the contact person in SUS for the overall vendor ABC, there is no org maintenance either. Therefore, all POs from ECC to SUS will be sent to both contact 1 and 2 because SUS does not seem to know how to handle 1 vendor number with multiple purchasing organizations.
This sounds strange to me! Any other input?

  • MO Operating Unit Profile Option Needed for Mass Allocation in R12

Mass Allocation does not work in R12 unless you set MO Operating Unit profile option at GL Responsibility level. Is that an official requirement from Oracle or is that a bug? A client should be able to implement and use GL without setting operating units as they are needed for subledgers.

    Hi
I have found the below mentioned information on MO: operating Unit Profile option from the Oracle E-Business Suite Multiple Organizations & Oracle General Ledger Reference Guide which directly or indirectly requires the setting of the profile option at the appropriate level (responsibility, site etc)
Profile Options not Owned by General Ledger:
The following profile option affects the operation of General Ledger, but is not "owned" by General Ledger:
    • MO: Operating Unit - This profile option controls which operating unit a particular responsibility is assigned to.
Note: General Ledger's Account Inquiry window ignores the setting of this profile option. This allows you to drill down to your subledgers independent from their multiple organization setup. As a result, when you drill down to subledger details, General Ledger will show you all of the transactions that comprise an account balance, regardless of which organization originated the transaction.
To use multiple organizations, you must define an accounting setup with at least one legal entity, a primary ledger that will record the accounting for the legal entity, and an operating unit that is assigned to the primary ledger and a default legal context (legal entity).
You must set either the MO: Operating Unit or MO: Security Profile profile option for each application responsibility to use Multiple Organizations context sensitive applications. When you connect to the Oracle Applications, you sign on by entering your user name and password. Then, you choose a responsibility that is available to your user. After you choose your responsibility, there is an initialization routine that reads the values for all profile options assigned to that responsibility. Oracle Applications allows you to see only the information for those operating units that are assigned to your responsibility.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards
