Just switching to Aperture from PC Photoshop and I don't understand the most basic issues!
1-Where are the Masters?
2-What is the sequence of organization: Project/Folders, etc???

OK I accept this and believe the MAC system is set up this way to save space when you have multiple versions of the same image.
You bet it saves space! On top of that, Aperture does non-destructive editing, so your masters aren't going to be changed by Aperture. Rather, the version "recipe" is applied to the master whenever it needs to be applied.
The one thing I didn't like was that I would often have two different sized images for quality and web
In Aperture, it's definitely different. You don't actually have multiple sized images at the same time. Rather, you have your full-sized version which can be exported at whatever resolution you want. Generally, you export to a temporary location, do with the photos what you need to do, and then discard those temporary images.
There are export plug-ins for Aperture (Like sending to Flickr) that encapsulate the "temporary" files for you, so you don't have to worry about them. For emailing photos, you can drag-and-drop or use the Media Browser from the email program to gain access to pre-built low-res versions that reside in the library. Those pre-built previews are optional, though, depending on whether or not you want to use the space in your library. However, they are managed by Aperture, so you never have to really worry about the appearance of managing duplicates.

Adobe has several apps available in the apps store are different price point and levels of functionality. PS Touch is pretty feature rich and runs about $ 9.99 (USD) or so. None of them, however, are likely to help with the "organizational tree" - frankly not sure what you mean by that, but iOS does not have the same exposed folder structure that your windows machine has. An available flders would be a function of the App, not iOS.

Check out the help for CALL TRANSFORMATION. When you press F1 on CALL you can see a link for "converting XML data".
The help says
Using a transformation, you can transform:

4. ABAP program data into ABAP program data

We are trying to design SIM solution for a medicial system, which has almost half million facilities, each exists as an individual organization. The hierarchy can have more than 7 levels, admins can sit anywhere in the tree and some admins will sit in one org and manage his own org and other orgs at the same level.
Please suggest what's the best practice to design an organization hierarchy in SIM so that we will have no performance issues and each admin login will only see the orgs within his control scope.

Organization/Tree structure report in BOBJ

Recently received a requirement for a "report" which to me initially did not look like a report, but rather a model of an organization chart/tree.   I am trying to figure out if something like this is possible to do in any of the BOBJ tools (WEBI/Crystal/Dashboards). The Level0, Level1 and Level2 objects are all dynamic and there would be multiple Overall Processes - Level 0s (let's say 15). Each process is then broken down into the respective Level1 and then further into Level 2. All these levels are dynamic (there could be 2 level1s, 5, etc) and would come from a database (I'm not sure exactly what the data structure would look like, but it can be modeled specifically for this reason).   I see it as a type of hierarchy (but vertical) , but I am having trouble reproducing it in WEBI / Crystal. I tried a CrossTable report in WEBI, and it almost gets me there but it shows all the Level 2s for each level 1 - can't do that type of breakdown where it compresses the rows dynamically. What it looks like we are trying to do here is create a horizontal table for Level 0 and Level 1, but then a vertical table for Level 2. I'm just looking for any ideas on how this may be possible as this is not your typical report.

The issue we seem to be having is the fact that we need to create multiple vertical tables (level 2s) for each column (Level1).
The data looks as such

So the Level 1s (Create/Develop/Award...) are rows and have a relation to the systems. But the systems are required to be shown as columns, each related to level 1. But the level 0/1s are dynamic..there could be 1 to 15 Level 0s and 1 to 16 Level 1s. I can make this relationship show as a cross table, but having a hard time (without doing some Excel Magic in Dasboards) to make it show as a "chart"

User attributes are not available for not root organizations

my scenario: I have following organizations in IDM: Top; Top:Economy; etc...
I created Admin role "Economy director" with this settings:
Controlled Organizations - "Top:Economy"
Capabilities - "Account Administrator" and "Waveset administrator"
Now I assign this role to user A. This user A is in organization "Top:Economy" and he tried to edit user B in "Top:Economy". When I log in as user A I see in admin interface "Accounts->List Accounts" only Economy organization. In this organization I click on user B and select tab "Attributes". But here is no global attributes to change.
When I change "Economy director" role - Controlled Organizations to "Top" then user A can change global attributes of user B. But now user A can change everybody attributes in whole organization tree.
It's correct? I need to set user A to change attributes only for users in organization "Top:Economy".

But anyways... the "Attributes" tab is a collection of all the unreferenced attributes of all the resources assigned, it has some special behaviors.
You should have been able to change fname, lname, email of User B as User A (UserA is assigned AdminRole with Org & Capabilities assigned as described, without Top assigned). If not, something basic is not wired between User A and the AdminRole. Possibly it's the version in use?? But, if attempted against Oracle Waveset 8.1.1, this should be functionally straightforward to get working...
The Attributes Tab would only have attributes listed if there were roles or resources assigned with attributes the admin was able to see "in-scope". A resource with attributes (e.g. LDAP resource with a groups attribute) must be scoped for the administrators in the AdminRole to see/manage them per assigned capabilities.
In the example, a resource with attribute "country" scoped into Top:Economy would allow UserA to edit UserB, update the "Attributes" Tab "country" attribute.

In PSE 11 how to import photos to the organizer from the computer files and folders

While using the restore function in PSE 11 (Windows 8), using a catalog backup from PSE 8 (Windows XP), a number of images could not be restored. To try to link to the images in their actual location, I tried the following:
1. I used the File Get function, browsed to the images and did a Get Media. Upon completion, the thumbnails automatically displayed in the organizer.
2. For reasons I do not understand, the path, where these photos actually reside, displayed in a separate part of the tree view (just below the tree view created from the restore operation.) rather than in the restored tree view.
I tried to drag them to the location where they should be, but that did not work.
I noticed that when I did the get photos from files and folders, I saw no way to designate where the photos were to be linked to in the tree view. (Such as is the case when you get photos from a camera.)
I tried to find instructions on how to get photos from files and folders, to see where I am going wrong but had no luck.
Can anyone explain what is going wrong and how I can correct it?

Thanks for your response. Based on my understanding of your comments I tried the following:
1. In the main tree view, I deleted the sub-folder which should have contained the files that failed to restore (SF1). Then I dragged the sub-folder in the separate tree structure (SF2) to the location SF1. This did not work; I got the message: A folder with the same name already exists at the requested location. When I opened the folder containing SF1 and selected: Show all SubFolders, SF1 was not deleted.
2. I then tried to drag the images in SF2 to SF1. This too did not work; the images stayed in SF2.
3. In SF1, I right clicked and selected: Import Media. This did not work; I got the message: Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types, or the files are already in the catalog.
I have to assume that I either did not correctly understand your comments or that their is more at play than I realize. Could you explain why each of my attempts failed and what should I be doing to move folders, sub-folders and/or images within the organizer tree view?

I myself just finished such an implementation at one of my customers. It took 2 days to complete. I can't give you the solution as the customer retains the immaterial rights for the solution but I thought I would tell you the steps involved to get you on the right track.
1. Context. Build a context node that on the top level has the orgunit, it's attributes (such as otype, objid, stext, etc) and the recursive node that points to the orgunit node. Inside the orgunit create a node for the position. Inside the node place the attributes for the position (like before) and a recursive node that points to the position node. Finally inside the position node place a node for the person and it's attributes (like before), but no recursion node this time.
2. Layout: Place a tree element in your view. Inside the tree element insert two node types and one item type. First node is for orgunit, second one is for position. The only item is for the person. You might want to add respective icons, to get nicer UI. Add the load children action for orgunit and position. Depending on what you want to select from the tree, add a select action for either orgunit, position or person.
3. Code #1: as Chris points out, use RH_STRUC_GET to get the organization tree. I myself used O_S_P. You might want to create a FM that returns all 3 itabs returned by RH_STRUC_GET to the WDA. Create a freely programmed value help as suggested in many threads, it's pretty straight forward. In the WDA utilizing the VH, mark one or more items in the context as freely programmed VH and connect to your implementation.
4. Code #2: At start up, for example in the WDDOINIT method, create only the root node and call it for example "All organization units". Then create one action that is called when children nodes have to be loaded, one method for figuring out what do when a child is being requested (and what kind of child: orgunit, position or person) and finally a method for actually creating the node.
5. Code #3: The magic comes from RH_STRUC_GET. Use the STRUC itab at runtime to find the objects at certain levels and to determine their parent(s) and children. The most important values in the STRUC itab in this case are LEVEL, OTYPE, OBJID and PUP.
Pretty straight forward and the solution is quite nice indeed. I'm sorry if I forgot something, I wrote this without access to the system.

Another possible option is to show a dialog with no OK button. If you hold a reference to it, you can discard the dialog when the operation is complete.

IPhoto Organization Rolls & Folders

Hello everyone. This is my first post. Thanks for being here and available to answer questions. I did look at several pages of posts to see if I could find an answer to my question. Maybe I looked in the wrong spot. I also tried the search function. I'm sure my question has been already asked, and I apologize in advance for my inability to find it "already asked and answered."
I've had my Mac for about a year. I'm not adept. I have been taking digital pictures, and things work great in iPhoto.
I just began a .Mac "group." I was able, also, to upload photos. The organization "tree" seems to be built around film rolls rather than albums. My film rolls are a sorry mess. I have 159 of them. Many with just 1 photo -- maybe an image I found online that l liked. That sort of thing. A few rolls, do have many photos from my camera. Makes it very difficult to find a photo from inside .Mac when there's 159 rolls). I've managed by relying on the photo's name, and doing it that way. Though that's a bit cumbersome because I cannot scroll through a batch of photos or review them and mull over which ones I'd like to use and not use.
I'd like to see a "tree" like this = iPhoto > Library > Albums
I see, if I recall correctly = iPhoto > Originals/Modified > Rolls
So, I guess I have to whip my film rolls into some sort of shape. I tried to drag 1 photo into a roll containing a photo or photos with the idea of combining rolls by theme. That attempt did not work. Couldn't drag from roll to roll.
I'm sure a zillion people have run into this. How do you do it? Also, I think I've seen the same tree structure built on rolls when doing other photo things besides .Mac. I can't swear to it due to my unfamiliarity.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Rolls are the most basic element of the iPhoto Library. Rolls in the iPhoto Window (View -> Film Rolls) correspond exactly with the Roll Folders in the Originals Folder in the iPhoto Library Folder. You can move photos between Rolls, you can rename rolls, edit them, create them, as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Check out the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable. Edit a Roll Name using the Info Pane, the Roll Folder in iPhoto Library Folder/Originals will also have the new name.
To move pics between rolls select the pic and drag it to the header of the target roll. This will turn blue when you're hit the target.
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Using iTunes to organize library

I have found several topics covering the use of iTunes "keep folders organized" options, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.
I have an extensive library on an external hard drive ripped using different programs, therefore organized different ways. I then added the songs from my external hard drive to my library. What is my best option for having iTunes organize my overall "music" folder in the traditional iTunes organizational tree? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've just gone through this process in the past week, so I can answer stjpwinter, although this may also answer c4noo7's question as well.
The iTunes library is dynamic, so all you need to do is highlight the relevant songs, Get Info, make changes and hit OK. iTunes will automatically move all the ACDC files into one AC/DC folder, then erase the other folders.

Delimiting position will still be available in org tree?

Can someone please get back with this query!!
When ever we terminate an employee, the term action which does not limit the position in the org tree. We get the create vacancy and when choose NO but the position remains empty but continues to appear in the organization tree. As of now the report RHVOPOS0 is being run to remove the object?
What best solution is suggestable please advice!!!

Hi,
There is no automatic way of doing this as far as I know.
One option may be to write a code to the user exit that'll run when a termination action is performed. This code shall delimit the position of the terminating employee.
In my client's case, we leave the positions vacant and when another person is employed, we assign the same position to this new person.
The decision is up to you.

Issue with organizations delete

Hi
I have created an organization XXXXXX in OIM 11g and latter i tried to delete the same. OIM displayed a message saying that an error has occured and could not delete the org, though before deleting this org i have deleted all the users and resources assigned to this org.
after a restart of OIM server i am unable to find the organization through admin console and when i try to create an org with the same name OIM says that orgnization already exists.
did anyone faced such issue... ? why this happening

Yes, OIM does not allow you to delete neither users, nor organizations in DB. It just marks it as 'Deleted'. Because IMHO, being able to revert object creation in DB is VERY useful while you are implementing OIM in a test environment, I've developed a tool capable of creating and cascade deleting any OIM object, including users, resources and organizational trees. Write me if you want to know more about the tool.

About the support of commsuite 7 for two tree LDAP

We are giong to move our old IMS LDAP (ver 5.2) to a new hardware with DS version 6.3.1. Existing DS version 5.2 holds enterprise
data in a two tree structure. ( Ex : dc=example,dc=com and o=isp) . Both trees carry user data. Documents released for
commsuite 7 says the following,
"Messaging Server and Calendar Server have introduced a one-tree structure, where there is no Domain Component (DC) Tree.
All domain information is held in domain nodes in the Organization Tree."
Paralley to the LDAP move the IMS version will also be upgraded to commsuite7. In this scenario how can I manage
this whole process with the existenace of two tree structure. Any document regarding this issue?

If you are using Access Manager then you need to use Schema 2. If you aren't using Access Manager then you can use Schema 1 or Schema 2. This is clearly stated in the "Schema Requirements" section of that document.
### Schema 2 is a single-tree structure. Comm-Suite-7 supports Schema 1.
I understood it differently in this way after referring the doc above. Both schema 1 and 2 supports one-tree
     and two-tree systems.( I can create a new suffix with DC components ( Ex: dc=example,dc=com) in DS version 6.3
     with schema 2 ).I haven't come across any customers who are using a two-tree Schema 2 environment. So going down this path is potentially risky.
But support for two-tree system depends on the LDAP parameters specified when preparing the DS
     using comm_dssetup.pl. Can you please guide me to find a good document on this?I don't understand your issue. If you are preparing a fresh Directory Server install with the comm_dssetup.pl tool and you want to use schema 1, then simply choose schema 1 when asked.

Changing effective date of tree

Hi guys,
we are dealing with a matter with organization tree. As default, when adding a department into a tree, the effective date of the tree have to be later than the dept's. The matter is our organization change often, new dept added, dept change...
As now, we have to clone the old tree with a new effective date then add the new dept into it. Then we have to run some row security processes. The trouble is here: we have 2 seperated teams for this task, one to create the tree and the other to run the processes. So it wastes a lot of time and the changes often delay.
My question is "Is there any way to change the effective date of the tree or allow to add a dept into a tree with an earlier effective date?

We are using R12 (12.0.6). Please see below errors.
The account code combination XXX.XXXXX.1103019.000.0.0.00000.000 for line 2 is not valid for the GL Date. Using the GL Accounts form, please update the effective dates for this account code combination or use a different account code combination
I set the effective date for the combination is "31-Dec-2011".
Please advice.
