Orion primer: javax.rmi.CORBA.Util not found

Hi,
I have been trying to run the orion primer (hello-planet) on the most recent release (9.0.3.0.0), but I am getting this error when trying to access the app:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/rmi/CORBA/Util
I have followed the directions on the orion web site. I am running on jdk1.2 so I had to add jndi.jar as an extension so I am wondering if I need to do something similar for this class, but I can't find info on where this class may be stored (which jar). I have manually looked through the different jars that came with oc4j, but can't find this class (it is possible that I overlooked...so many jars).
***While writing this I decided to run on previous release (9.0.2.0.0) and it worked.......
but why does the default-web-site.xml work on this release, and the http-web-site.xml work on (9.0.3.0.0)?
so I guess my question is now, Why doesn't this app work on newest release, and should I continue to test apps on 9.0.3.0.0, or go back to previous?

Linda,
I just tested this app with 9.0.3.0.0 and it works fine. Please try with JDK 1.3.1 and above. From 9.0.2.0.0 we decided to have http-web-site
as the default web site instead of default-web-site. In the prior versions i.e. 1.0.2.2 and 1.0.2.2.1 we had default web-site. However if you
want to create more websites e.g. default-web-site then you can do so.

  • Javax.rmi.CORBA.Util.getLocal(Stub) problem

    Hi guys,
    I 've experienced this problem:
    In javax.rmi.CORBA.Util.getLocal(Stub) Sun implements getting the Delegation class and casting to their own Delegate class.
    We have our stubs and our ORB and our delegate class with this situation we lose opportunity to use isLocal functionality,becouse we will get ClassCast when getting our Delegate class and cast it to Sun's class.
    Did someone else have the same problem and did someone knows what is the solution or opinion from Sun's developers.
    Regards Vladislav

    I've report this situation to Sun
    my solution is ot invoke ObjectImpl._is_local() in isLocal(Stub) method,which is equivalent according to API DOCS ....
    But their implementation is not very customized .... I'm wondering how the things are up to in IBM

  • JAI installation problem, javax/media/jai/util/ not found?

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the JAI instllation in executing a class. However, I keep getting the following message.
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/jai/util/
    I have added some jars from the JAI instllation to my classpath. However, I still get this message.
    What jar file do I have to reference so I do not get this message?

    Even more strange, I deploy it under Unix, there is no problem. The previous one is deployed
    under Windowns XP. Anyone has same experience?

  • Java.rmi.RemoteException:  newServlets not found

    I am developing a java servlet using J2EE 1.4 RI.

    I have no idea what is causing this. Each time this happens, the Command Prompt window that is running J2ee server displays the message:

    I have tried stopping and restarting both the j2ee server and deploytool, but this has not fixed the problem.
    In my servlet, I would like to take information that has been entered into an HTML text field and add it to a MS Access database. I have the following code in my servlet to load the driver:

    con = DriverManager.getConnection(pathConnection, "", "");
    }//end outer try block

    The following code is being used to enter the data into the database:

    Is it possible that something in the code above is causing the problem??

    I'm having a similar problem trying to deploy an EJB on the j2ee 1.4 ri. It appears to be some sort of JMX problem. I suspect it has something to do with having a wrong value somewhere in the sun-j2ee-ri.xml descriptor, but I haven't figured it out yet. If you have, can you let me know what you did to fix it?

    you are not setting the classpath but the path, and they should both be written in capitals, PATH and CLASSPATH.
    The classpath contains directories and jar files that contain the classes that need to be "visible" to your applications. The servlet classes are part of the file servlet-api.jar, which you can find in your tomcat directory, more specifically the common/lib sub directory.
    I would expect your classpath to look something like this:
    .;d:\program files\tomcat\common\lib\servlet-api.jar
    You may also want to add the directory in which you are storing your projects, I don't know how you are building your applications.
    You seem to be very new to this, so I would suggest you give this a read:

  • Struts javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: name not found

    Hi.
    I'm developing a my first struts web application an I'm getting: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: control_seguros not found
    This is my META -INF/context.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context path="/control_seguros">
    <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="org.postgresql.Driver" name="jdbc/control_seguros" password="seguros" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:postgresql://localhost/control_seguros" username="seguros"/>
    </Context>
    web.xml
    <resource-ref>
    <description>Conexión Base de Datos</description>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/control_seguros</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    </resource-ref>
    action code
    Context initCtx = new InitialContext();
    Context envCtx = (Context) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env");
    // Look up our data source
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) envCtx.lookup("jdbc/control_seguros");
    // Allocate and use a connection from the pool
    Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
    conn.close();
    How can i solve this? I'm using Glassfish v3 prelude. One more thing: i'm not sure if it's relevant, but i create meta-inf folder and content.xml manually. I'd like to know how the application determinates that the database connection settings are in this xml.

    1. To use local interfaces in Glassfish your client & bean must be in same EAR or EJB module.
    2. @Sateless(name=) it's only the name of bean and in fact the bean interface is stored under different name then processPayment, it can be something like
    packege.className.
    3. I assume that you can't use EJB annotation is servlet.
    4. If indeed you need to use lookup, you need perform following steps (only in Glassfish context).
    a) if you are in same EAR as servlet use in web.xml resource ref like in following eg.
        <ejb-local-ref>
            <ejb-ref-name>Custom name, this name you will use in WAR</ejb-ref-name> <!---->
            <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
            <local-home/> <!-- Beans are homeles ->

  • Problems with Sun One Web Server 6.1 javax.xml.xpath package not found

    I used myeclipse to build an xml app and tested on jboss. it worked perfectly. However when i deployed it to our solaris sun one web server the app fell apart completely with the following error. I m unable to figure out what went wrong. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the response. I tried to use xalan package which resolved the javax.xml.xpath package not found error (xalan.jar in WEB-INF/lib folder). However I m now getting the following error. Probably incompatible version is the reason. Please advise!

    I downloaded a game but when I try to play it I get this message:

    WMP for Mac has been discontinued and is not written for Intel Macs.
    Instead you should use the free Flip4Mac QuickTime WM plugin available free from Flip4Mac.com
    If you choose to stick with WMP, you'll get better response if you use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office> rather than an Apple forum.
    Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered. You'll get your answer faster this way. Post your question in the forum if you don't find anything that helps you.
