OS 10.4.6

Well, since I have a dial up which blazes on at 28.8, I went to the Apple store in Vegas to do my 10.4 to 10.4.6 update. I forgot and had the Call of Duty DVD in the drive but nothing else connected. They let me use their ethernet connection and I downloaded the combo update and everything else that came on Software Update. I installed it, now everything still works. My printer, Photoshop Elements 4, Safari, Dreamweaver, Spotlight, IPhoto, IMovie, IDVD, everything. Boots up no problem, sleeps and wakes up no problem, shuts down no problem. Everything is working. Did I do something wrong? El P

If everything is working, no.
Mind you, leaving the DVD drive while traveling is risky that it might shake if the computer is turned on.
And you didn't mention if you had backed up your data prior to updating.
But since everything is working, just take it as a blessing and move on, and consider these tasks the next time you update:

They aren't all necessary, but they usually can save you from heartaches later on.
