OSB and JMS

I need to create a BS which will push messages to a Queue(on separate machine/server/domain) .
Im not sure how to push the message to a JMS Queue runnin on separate Weblogic 10. xdomain/server than where OSB is installed.
Error Im getting is
weblogic.jms.common.JMSException: Connection not found.
Rgds,

I have a similar situation
My connection factory and queue is define on SOA Suite 11g WL Server instance with jndi name as jms/demoCF and jms/demoQueue
Now when i try to refer this queue from OSB WL server instance using the Proxy Service and url as
jms://localhost:7001/jms.dempCF/jms.demoQueue ...its not able to pick the message.
I tried using jms://localhost:7001/jms/dempCF/jms/demoQueue (know this will never work but still wanted to give a shot).
Can anyone help me in formatting the correct URL to read the message from the queue?
Thanks

  • SOA OSB and JMS issues

    Hi guys,
We are trying to achieve synchronous communication using JMS. The client in Weblogic Domain 1 creates a JMS Message , and sets the JMSReplyTo attribute as queue ‘Reply’ where it waits on for a reply. It waits for a message having correlation id = to the messageid of the message it sent on the ‘reply’ queue. An OSB proxy service picks the message and puts it on a queue on Weblogic Domain 2. A MDB listening to this queue on domain 2, picks the message and creates a reply message with the correlation id of reply as message id of incoming message. At this point when we inspect the JMSReplyTo header value of the request message, it appears as null. Is the JMSReplyTo attribute not retained across Weblogic domains? Or is the proxy service not copying it over.
Our basic aim is to get the request message from a queue on one domain to another domain, and get the reply back on the right queue that the client is pinning on.
Is using OSB not the right approach or we are not configuring it right? Will using Weblogic SAF capability help us?

You have to configure a transport header action with "pass all headers through pipeline" option to make this work.
Configuring Transport Headers in Message Flows
The transport header action is a communication type action, and it is available in pipeline stages and error handler stages.
Configuring Global Pass Through and Header-Specific Copy Options for Transport Headers
The following options are available when you configure a transport headers action:
    > * The Pass all Headers through Pipeline option specifies that at run time, the transport headers action passes all headers through from the inbound message to >the outbound message or vice versa. Every header in the source set of headers is copied to the target header set, overwriting any existing values in the target >header set.

  • Using socket and JMS protocol in the same logic for OSB

    Hi frnds,
In my organization...the only communication protocol used is "socket" protocol. However, I want to use JMS protocol to process incoming messages. Can somebody help me figuring out how to go about it.
Using some nice OSB blogs, I am able to create the JMS connection factory and JMS queues in weblogic. And that works fine when I select the communication protocol as JMS while creating the BS and PS.
What should be my message flow when the communication protocol used is "socket" for both BS and PS.
    salil

    Hi,
Make the BS as JMS and the PS as socket, in the PS's flow do a route for the BS... Then if an external call is made to the PS via socket, it will send a messages to a JMS queue...
    Hope this helps...
    Cheers,
    Vlad

Please kindly help how to solve this issue. I use Sun Solaris 64bit

RCU is available for Windows & linux platforms only but it can be used to create schema's on remote databases as well. So in case your DB is on non Linux/Windows platform, then run RCU from any machine with Linux/Windows plaform and create schema's on remote database.

  • Synchronous message handling between OSB and MQ

    Hi,
I have a requirement to have a PS in OSB that gets some XML data from another application.
The PS implementation has to be synchronous.
    The interface is like
    External Application<->OSB PS<->MQ<->OSB <-> External Application
Can anyone help me with the request-reply implementation(i.e. synchronous call handling) between OSB and MQ.
    Required functionality :
OSB will get XML data from the external application, will do the data transformation to make it compatible with MQ interface and will then send data to MQ and will wait for the reply from MQ that it then sends back to the external application after transformation.
    Queries:
How to correlate two messages i.e. request msg to mq and reply msg from mq in OSB?
What kind of Proxy Service implementation is required to have such functionality?
If someone can help me with similar kind of implementation,it will be of great help to me.
    Thanks in advance

OSB support this pattern out of the box . You can implement the MessageID pattern as specified in this link:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/interopjms/MsgIDPatternforJMS.html
When you configure the business service to use MessageID as the correlation pattern, the following happens under the hood:
    1. Business service sends request to the MQ request queue. The MQ JMS provider sets the message ID on the message and this is returned to the bs. The business service also sets the reply queue details in the JMSReplyTo Header in the request.
    2. The business service then waits for a response message which has a correlationID equal to the messageID in the request message.
    3. The system which processes the request from the MQ should set the correlation ID of the response to the same value as the Message ID in the request.
    4. The business service process the reply if it is received before the timeout interval. No need to purge the queues for message arriving out after timeout since OSB does this automatically for you.
A point to note here is that if you deploy this in a cluster , you need to create 'N' local MQ queues for reply, where N is same as the number of managed servers in the cluster. Else you could lose replies in a scenario where the reply for a request sent by man server 'X" is processed by man server "Y". The request-response correlation tables are maintained internally on man server memory. Since Y had no clue of the requests sent in X it would just discard the reply received.
So create dedicate queues for each man server and specify them in the business service definition.
Another key thing for this to work would be to get right the MQ setup between the queue manager in OSB domain and the remote system which process the MQ requests. A simple setup would be for you to create all reply queues as local queues under your OSB queue manager and create only a transmission queue with the same name as your OSB queue manager in the remote system. You need to ask the remote system to do the MQOpen with the ReplyToQueue and ReplyToQM names for queue and queue manager names. This will put the replies to the transmission queue to your QM and through it can reach the right reply queue.

  • OSB - Dynamic JMS Queue Routing

My Input to the proxy is
    a. A Message payload.
    b. QueueName ( queueA or QueueB or can be anything else).
The message has to be sent to QueueName( a JMS queue setup in weblogic) configured in the input.
How do i do this in OSB ?
In bpel i simply used <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.jms.JMSDestinationName" to dynamically assign the JMSDestination name to any queue.

Your endpoint should look like similar to:
    jms://myosbmanaged_server:7001/my_jndi_connection_factory/my_jndi_queue_name
i.e (for a distributed queue over and osb cluster)
    jms://osb1dev2:7001,osb2dev2:7001/weblogic.jms.XAConnectionFactory/Finance.ExchangeRates.Queue

  • Problem with EJB and JMS - Failed to obtain/create connection

    hello ejb and jms programmers,
My problem is my topic MDB keep on retrieving the same message when there is a database connection failure. Maybe somebody could help me how to prevent to retrieve the same data?
    Given:
    - I purposedly turn off the pointbase database because im testing my error handling.
    - Im using SJSAS 8 as my application server.
    - My message Driven Bean of topic type.
    - Im using CMP for my entity bean
Here is the scenario of whats happening - step by step:
    1. A separate application publishes a message to JMS queue server
    2. My MDB retrieves this message and do some processing then inserts a record (transaction history) in my database
    3. But my db is turned off or down
    4. My MDB sends a successful processing reply to the JMS queue server
    5. Then i noticed that my server.log keeps on growing so when i opened it, the record was not inserted and printed the stacktrace below "RAR5117 : Failed to obtain/create connection. Reason : javax.transaction.SystemException" (complete stacktrace below)
    6. I understand the cause of the stacktrace is because the DB is turned off. But what i dont understand is that my MDB keeps on reading the same message. Since my MDB is of topic type, isnt a topic MDB supposedly reads a message only once???
    So my questions are:
    1. how do i handle insert database error?
    2. how can i stop my MDB from processing the same message?
    3. any better suggestions?
    Thank you in advance :)

    Hi annie,
Wherever you are handling database transactions,
you'd not be able to create a Connection if database
is closed (I think you mentioned turning off the
database) then at this condition, you should
certainly throw a System level exception and stop all
processing with some meaningful flow to indicate a
failure (like display message on UI). Even
network problems are handled by exceptions... so I
don't see a reason why you didn't wrap it in the
    first place.
Anyway, try handling specific exceptions rather than
the general Exception... this will give you a better
idea of what to do in case of an exception.Yes i know this. I am practicing this in my non-j2ee server applications. But the j2ee app im making, i just pass the db url in the descriptor and the app server automatically creates the connection for my app. So where would i put exception handling?
    2. how can i stop my MDB from processing the same
message?Guaranteed delivery is not supposed to stop
processing. It will continue to process the message
after certain intervals till the message is
delivered. You shouldn't deliver it at all, if you
are able to detect that the database is off
The problem here is that my MDB automatically retrieves the message from the JMS queue server. Im not the one retrieving the messages manually.
My assumed behavior of topic MDB is once the a certain MDB retrieves a message it will not retrieve the same message anymore.
    thank you in advance.

For the process of creating JDBC datasources and JMS resources @ SAP NetWeaver you can refer to the documents here on SDN and help.sap.com, and compare that process for yourself, thus not being influenced by others' biased or unbiased opinions.

  • 1 Admin console to manage OSB and SOA installed on different servers

    Dear All,
We are planning to have OSB installed on Host 1 and SOA server installed on Host 2. But there will be one Admin console to manage these 2 for the ease of maintenance. When i was trying to install this configuration I had few issues. Hope SOA experts can help me with the configuration.
    1)
As SOA and OSB are installed on 2 different host both the servers must have weblogic installed as pre requisite. So I will have
    on host 1:
    http://host1:7001/console
    http://host1:7001/sbconsole
    On host 2:
    http://host2:7001/console (this is redundant)
    http://host2:8001/soa-infra
    2) Is it possible to inactivate http://host2:7001/console ? and add SOA server running on host2 to http://host1:7001/console. In the sense, I would like to control the SOA server from host 1.
    Issue No :2
When I create a domain on Host 1 I just get the options for OSB and not SOA. It is obvious as SOA is not installed on Host1. but if that is the case, Is it possible to add SOA server running on host2 to host1. Is it going to be a cluster?
Is this configuration seems realistic? Has anyone implemented. Any pointers please.

  • EJB and JMS (newbie)

I'm looking to deploy what is essentially a message-broking service. A bean that
will invoke a helper class which will dequeue messages.
Basically I want to set up our consumer to invoke a handler, which will invoke
a bean that provides message-broking services as described above.
The handler that invokes the bean is to be called from the WLSConsumer. The problem
is that I'm now getting a java.io.NotSerializableException on the WLS consumer.
This is probably a really obvious question, but how can I get around this?
              My structure is:
              Consumer >> Handler >> Bean >> Helper
The consumer is to call the handler, which uses the bean's helper class to pull
a message off the queue, and do some intermediate processing on it.
We're using an older version of J2EE, on Weblogic 5.1.
Which classes do I need to implement Serializable?
              Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi Seoh!
Both stateles and JMS can participate in a single transaction, but because two
resource managers are being used they must use the 2PC protocol, In oreder to
use the 2PC u need to get the license from the bea and after that u need to enable
the 2PC in WLS through admin conbsole. But remember that transactions in stateless
beans cant span across multiple method incocations

  • Configuration for JMS Adapter Sensor action and JMS Queue sensor action..!!

    Hi,
Id like my BPEL process to send an XML message to JMS on Websphere,I was able to do this through a JMS adapter. But I would more like to add sensors into my process which would really do the same thing - send an XML message to JMS Q.
Now I understand that there are two ways to do this,JMS Queue and JMS Adapter - thorugh bpel sensor action.
I am able to use JMS Queue and it works fine , but adds its own xml tags to the message,Is there any way I could send only my xml payload as a message to the queue??
Also could any1 tell me what is the configuration for JMS Adapter sensor action?
Any suggestions how do I go about it??

    Hey Anirudh,
    Thanx for the response :-)
All these hold good when I have an AQ adaptor right,But the thing is I want to send a message to a 'JMS' queue with out actually using an adapter configuration wizard and everythng..So I resolved to JMS queue Sensor action..Heres the xml snippet from the sensorAction.xml files which is generated..
    <actions targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Test_JMS_Logging" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/sensor" xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Test_JMS_Logging" xmlns:pc="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/sensor">
    <action name="JMS_LogEntry" publishName="" publishType="JMSQueue" enabled="true" filter="" publishTarget="jms/L_Queue">
    <property name="JMSConnectionFactory">jms/L_QueueCF</property>
    <sensorName>ActivitySensor_JMS</sensorName>
    </action>
    </actions>
This works grt and adds messages to the queue..But adds its own header info according to the sensor.xsd loacted at the Oracle_home\bpel\system\xmllib\ folder.
Right now the XML message added to the Queue is:-
    <actionData xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/sensor">
    <header>
    <sensor sensorName="ActivitySensor_JMS" classname="oracle.tip.pc.services.reports.dca.agents.BpelActivitySensorAgent" kind="activity" target="AddLEntr

    <ns0:LCName xmlns:ns0="LC_Test1http://www.ulrhome.com/2008/10/L_Entry">LC_Test1</ns0:LCName>
    </data>
Also while creating a Sensor action I get another option as JMS Adaptor,I am not sure of what value to type in this wizard..Heres what I keyed in..M sure this is not right..Cos it dosnt work :-)

  • OSB and BPEL Capacity Planning

    Guys,
I am looking for a start point to begin a capacity planing of OSB and BPEL infrastructure.
What are the parameters to take in account?
    How many managed servers?
    RAM?
    CPU?
I know that some answers might be shallow because there are so many factor to work with, but I need a small guidance.
    Anyone?
    Thanks a lot

You can't expect a serious answer to your question. With so many unknown factors in place ...
However, if we stay on this "general level", then based on my experience I can easily say that OSB is not greedy at all. You can handle tens to hundreds of requests per second on a retail hardware. Of course, it all depends on the character of your services. The more complexity (XQuery, XSLT, service callouts, java callouts) you add to your services the more power you need.

  • How to configure osb and soa in single domain

    Hi all,
    hope all are fine.
sorry if this question is already posted.
I installed wls 10.3.6 and osb 11.1.1.6 & SOA 11.1.1.6 and domain cofiguration also successful.
