By design, SharePoint will create a Shared Calendar for you in Outlook. But this is a very good question.
A quick research reveals this blog post, which mat be of some use as a starting point

  • Synchronize calendar from SAP to MS out look

    Hi!
Can you tell me, how ca synchronize calendar from SAP to MS out look 2003.
    Thank you!

    Could you please help?
Increase the functionality of B1 calendar to include more technicians in the screen view
    OR
    Use an integrated Outlook calendar
We ONLY need to increase the number of technicians a user can see in the B1 calendar view at any one time. We have over 50 engineers and at the moment we can only see a maximum of 7 in the group view. If we wish to see more we have to use form settings/user tab to deselect and reselect more technicians
Is there either an add-on or some settings adjustment
In addition can the list of technicians be in the vertical axis onstead of the horizontal one (this would leave more room for more engineers!
If not is using an integrated Outlook calendar an option?

File a complaint with them. Verizon will call you to fix the blunder.
But remember it is always up to the customer to insure what they are getting and what it costs. Don't trust the word of a sales person who makes their living on getting that sale. Lies, deceit or false promises will be and have been used by sales people for thousands of years.

  • I would like to know about washed out look

    Hi,
I notice that a lot of commercials lately have a sort of washed out look about them in the vision. I don't know the best way to describe it but it is like some sort of desatuation, unreal look and i was wondering how they get it. Does anyone have an idea what I am talking about?
    2.5 G5 DP, 2 x 250 HD, FCPHD, Motion, 30" 2.5 gig ram   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Although I've posted about Magic Bullet please be aware that I don't necessarily favour it in any shape or form it was just easy way for you to see that look.
Patrick once described it as Magic Snail - lol - and I've got to agree. hellish renders - what the others have posted are all equally valid alternatives.
They're all fat as* renders, some faster than others ... esp on a long form show.
Another sophisticated product is FinalTouch - expensive yes ...

  • Adjustments for soft proofing to avoid washed out look

Hi, I've downloaded and installed my photo lab's printing profile. When I soft proof, everything looks washed out and lacks defnition. Blacks look gray and have little detail. Kind of an overall washed out look. I've tried adjusting contrast and saturation, but am underwhelmed with the results. What are the proper steps and areas of adjustment to try and achieve a closer match between the soft proof usng the lab's profile and my calibrated montior? Specific steps and areas of adjustment would help. I know the photo lab's printer gamut and paper makes the difference, but am left thinking there's a simpler way to adjust the photos for best results.
    Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, but you misunderstood my question. The profile is correct, the soft proofing is working as designed, the question is what controls/adjustments can I make in Aperture to adjust the photo to reduce this washed out look prior to sending the photos out to print. What Aperture adjustments have users found to correct for printer/paper/ink deficiencies? - L

  • PO/PR approval through out look email.

    Hi Guru

for example in our orgganization we got 3 departments like
engineering, IT and logistic. when they Raise PO/PR for approval, the higher authority get email
through out-look. how we have to configur plz suggest me.

    Hi,
Basically work flow have to be configure by basis or workflow consultant,But if u have previlage then check the following settings:
    WORKFLOW FOR PO RELEASE PROCEDURE
    Steps involved are :
    1) SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Release Procedure for Purchase Orders > Define Release Procedure for Purchase Orders > Release Codes > here assign Workflow indicator as "1" against each Release Code
    2) SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Release Procedure for Purchase Orders > Define Release Procedure for Purchase Orders > Workflow > Here against each release code assign OT as US and respective User ID's for Release Codes.
    3) Go to OOCU > here under MM, go to MM-PUR,
    4) Click on "activate event linking"
    5) Go for "WS 20000075" and for BUS2012 RELEASESTEPCREATED, click on Detailed view button. Activate "Event linkage activated" and also activate "Enable usage of event queue"
    and Save.
    6) Click on "Assign agents" and proceed all above steps.
BUS2012 is the relevant business object and Releasestep created is the event for the same.
    7) Check SWETYPV transaction for the WF you have activated for BUS2012 and confirm.
Test the same by creating a PO and check the SBWP for SAP Mail of respective Users

  • How do I get MS Word to look at Sharepoint for workgroup templates?

We have chosen to use Microsoft Sharepoint as our document management system.  Using a document library to version control our MS Office document templates is easy enough.  However, I cannot find a way to get MS Office 2007 to create new documents
using the templates recorded in Sharepoint.  I can point Word to look at a standard network drive using:
Office Button > Word Options > Advanced > File Locations...
However, I cannot use an http(s) address for the 'Workgroup templates' path.  I have tried to map a network address to the Sharepoint library, which works fine from Windows Explorer, but Word will not allow me to use this drive either (I assume because
the underlying address is still an Internet address.
In my opinion, it is neither logical, nor efficient, nor sensible for Word users to have to use IE to create new documents, just because the templates are under configuration management in Sharepoint.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could tell me how to achieve this.

Thanks for all the replies.  As far as I can gather, they all seem to indicate that SharePoint is not the right tool for my application.  I was rather hoping that Micrsoft would have provided a more seamless integration between their Office and
    Enterprise tools.
As a Quality Manager, I want to be able to update the templates used by the company emlpoyees and roll them out without directly affecting the employees who use them.
When creating a document, people will open MS Word and use File -> New.  It is illogical and inefficient to ask them to create all new documents by opening their browser, logging in to SharePoint, navigating to the appropriate Templates folder and
creating their new documents from there, without being able preview and verify that they're using the appropriate template.
The alternative (to get everyone to make local copies of the Templates) immediately ensures that the document management system is broken as all new documents will be created from uncontrolled copies of the templates.
Neither scenario is good business practice.
My conclusion is that we should look into an alternative Document Management System, maybe something as simple as setting up access permissions on a shared drive.
    Thanks again.

  • I am trying to Consolidate Files out of a Sharepoint Folder

Hello Everyone. First off thank you in advance for the help. I had found a macro that worked very well for
consolidating a certain worksheet out of every workbook in the folder. This worked very well while the folder remained on our Shared network drive. Now, however, we are moving the folder to Sharepoint so more people can access and update the templates. My
issue now is I don't know how to make the macro reference a sharepoint folder. Can anyone help? Here is my current code.
    Sub simpleXlsMerger()
    Dim bookList As Workbook
Dim mergeObj As Object, dirObj As Object, filesObj As Object, everyObj As Object
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Set mergeObj = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set dirObj = mergeObj.Getfolder("W:Merger Test")
    Set filesObj = dirObj.Files
    For Each everyObj In filesObj
    Set bookList = Workbooks.Open(everyObj)
    bookList.Worksheets("Forecast").Activate
    Range("A4:IV" & Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row).Copy
    ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(1).Activate
    Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial
    Application.CutCopyMode = False
    bookList.Close
    Next
    End Sub
Here is my new code. (which doesn't work, error code 76 "Path not Found")
    Sub simpleXlsMerger()
    Dim bookList As Workbook
Dim mergeObj As Object, dirObj As Object, filesObj As Object, everyObj As Object
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Set mergeObj = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set dirObj = mergeObj.Getfolder("//sharepoint/sites/portmgmt/Capability and Portfolio Planning/John's
    Merger Test/PES")
    Set filesObj = dirObj.Files
    For Each everyObj In filesObj
    Set bookList = Workbooks.Open(everyObj)
    bookList.Worksheets("Forecast").Activate
    Range("A4:IV" & Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row).Copy
    ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(1).Activate
    Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial
    Application.CutCopyMode = False
    bookList.Close
    Next
    End Sub

Firefox can handle its' own json and sqlite format for bookmarks/places, and it can handle the universal bookmarks.html interchange format, but it can't deal with the Favorites .url format - that's unique to IE and its' clones. Get that folder of .url files back into Internet Explorer and then export that data as an HTML file.
    In IE: <br />
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file
    ''then in Firefox:'' <br />
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file

  • Office 2013 vs SharePoint 2010 - Unable to check out documents to SharePoint drafts folder

My company is foisting Office 2013 on us without upgrading SharePoint 2010 Enterprise. One of the issues I have discovered since receiving Office 2013 is that SharePoint no longer provides the option to save checked out documents to my local drafts folder.
This is despite having Office set to save checked-out files to the server drafts location and the Office Document Cache Handler enabled in IE9. Is there a registry setting or something I can change that will re-enable this feature?

    Hi Nellie,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to re-enable the add-on Office Document Cache Handler in IE9.
We can re-enable the add-on in IE9 using Group Policy:
    Launch the Group Policy Editor.
Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Security Features > Add-on Management >
     Add-on List.
    Set this policy to 'Enabled'.
In the Add-on List, add the CLSID of BHO (Browser Helper Object) (i.e.) {B4F3A835-0E21-4959-BA22-42B3008E02FF} as the ‘Value Name’ and 1 as the 'Value'.
Log out of the machine and log back in again for the setting to take effect.

  • Scaling Out PowerPivot for SharePoint 2013

I’ve been struggling with the TechNet/MSDN documentation on adding PowerPivot servers for scale-out implementation.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2dbddcc7-427a-4537-a8e2-56d99b9d967d
My test farm consists of 2 web front end servers and 2 application servers. I wanted to install PowerPivot on the 2 application servers for load balancing so I installed the PowerPivot/SSAS instance on both. I ran the PowerPivot configuration tool on one
of the web front end servers and added the 2 application servers for my PowerPivot servers. TechNet/MSDN talks about configuring the second instance by running the PowerPivot configuration tool when adding another PowerPivot server. However, I no longer see
any options on any of the servers when I run the PowerPivot configuration tool. When I check the services running on the servers, only one server is running the SQL Server PowerPivot System Service. I do see that both PowerPivot/SSAS instances have the PowerPivot
    database.
How do I configure the other application server to run the SQL Server PowerPivot System Service for load balancing?
    Thanks.

SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recover Deep Dive Course

    Hi Edwin,
In a multi-server farm, all PowerPivot for SharePoint instances must be at the same version. If you applied service packs or updates to other PowerPivot servers that are already in the farm, the new instance you are adding must be updated to the same version
as the existing instance that is already in the farm. The new instance will be unavailable until the updates have been applied.
Try to check whether PowerPivot System Service or Analysis Services service listed on the both servers and t also verify whether services are in Started mode. If not you can start the PowerPivot System Service or Analysis Services service by using Central
Administration(as mentioned by Alex ) or by using Powershell.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210610.aspx
If the PowerPivot System Service or Analysis Services service up and running on the both servers, then system will automatically behave as load balanced.
