Overlapping tabbed pane objects upon startup

I have a swing app built with Sun ONE Studio 4, I have several jTabbedPane's in the main form and upon start up, components from other tabbed panes are visible until I go through and click each tabbed pane. Any help is appreciated.

Don't use Sun One Studio. ;) Can't stand the lack of control/knowledge of what is going on with GUI builders! Much prefer using TableLayout and coding it myself! TableLayout is so easy to use, very fast.

  • How do I disable the firefox 6.0 feature in which group tabs all don't load upon startup?

    OS is Windows 7 x64. I have defined four tab groups. Only one of them loads when I start Firefox. I understand that this is a new feature in 6.0, but I would like the option to revert to the prior behavior. I looked in about:config, but didn't find anything that seemed to apply.

    After more research, I answered my own question. To load all group tabs upon startup, change the value of the following entry in about:config:
    browser.sessionstore.restore_hidden_tabs
    to true.

  • Upon startup multiple audio sources begin playing. I can't find the tab to kill them!

    Having pages begin streaming audio upon startup AND not being able to find out where audio is coming from is frustrating almost beyond words ... it is hard for me to imagine this wasn't addressed with the first "tabbed" version. Sometimes I'm almost tempted to see if another brower has this handled. PLEASE FIX IT OR LET ME KNOW OF AN ADD-ON TO ADDRESS THIS. If the latter, I suggest you co-opt that feature into the next major release. AWOL sound is maddening. 3 youtubes + 5 podcasts + lastfm should NOT be playing at the same time BY DEFAULT just because the tabs were open on last shutdown. Further, I suggest *ANY* source of audio should easily found and jumped to to kill or mute.

    If pages have embedded audio, it is not always easy to stop it. I have a bookmarklet that allows me to stop embedded audio if I click it on the page in question. If you are having Firefox open with the tabs from the last session and several of those pages have embedded sound, either turn them all off one by one or do not save a session with embedded sound in the pages. The bookmarklet is this:
    javascript:(function(){function%20R(w){try{var%20d=w.document,j,i,t,T,N,b,r=1,C;for(j=0;t=["embed","iframe"][j];++j){T=d.getElementsByTagName(t);for(i=T.length-1;(i+1)&&(N=T[i]);--i)if(j!=3||!R((C=N.contentWindow)?C:N.contentDocument.defaultView)){b=d.createElement("div");b.style.width=N.width;%20b.style.height=N.height;b.innerHTML="<del>"+(j==3?"third-party%20"+t:t)+"</del>";N.parentNode.replaceChild(b,N);}}}catch(E){r=0}return%20r}R(self);var%20i,x;for(i=0;x=frames[i];++i)R(x)})()
    Add a new bookmark, copy that code to the location, and name it "No music or iframes".

  • How to drag and drop tab nodes between tab panes

    I'm working on example from this tutorial( Drag-and-Drop Feature in JavaFX Applications | JavaFX 2 Tutorials and Documentation ). Based on the tutorial I want to drag tabs between two tabs. So far I managed to create this code but I need some help in order to finish the code.
    Source
    tabPane = new TabPane();
    Tab tabA = new Tab();
       Label tabALabel = new Label("Main Component");
    tabPane.setOnDragDetected(new EventHandler<MouseEvent>()
                @Override
                public void handle(MouseEvent event)
                    /* drag was detected, start drag-and-drop gesture*/
                    System.out.println("onDragDetected");
                    /* allow any transfer mode */
                    Dragboard db = tabPane.startDragAndDrop(TransferMode.ANY);
                    /* put a string on dragboard */
                    ClipboardContent content = new ClipboardContent();
                    content.put(DataFormat.PLAIN_TEXT, tabPane);
                    db.setContent(content);
                    event.consume();
    What is the proper way to insert the content of the tab as object? Into the tutorial simple text is transferred. How I must modify this line content.put(DataFormat.PLAIN_TEXT, tabPane);?
    And what is the proper way to insert the tab after I drag the tab:
    Destination
    tabPane.setOnDragDropped(new EventHandler<DragEvent>()
                @Override
                public void handle(DragEvent event)
                    /* data dropped */
                    /* if there is a string data on dragboard, read it and use it */
                    Dragboard db = event.getDragboard();
                    boolean success = false;
                    if (db.hasString())
                        //tabPane.setText(db.getString());
                        Tab tabC = new Tab();
                        tabPane.getTabs().add(tabC);
                        success = true;
                    /* let the source know whether the string was successfully
                     * transferred and used */
                    event.setDropCompleted(success);
                    event.consume();
    I suppose that this transfer can be accomplished?
    Ref javafx 2 - How to drag and drop tab nodes between tab panes - Stack Overflow

    I would use a graphic (instead of text) for the Tabs and call setOnDragDetected on that graphic. That way you know which tab is being dragged. There's no nice way to put the Tab itself into the dragboard as it's not serializable (see https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-29082), so you probably just want to store the tab currently being dragged in a property.
    Here's a quick example; it just adds the tab to the end of the current tabs in the dropped pane. If you wanted to insert it into the nearest location to the actual drop you could probably iterate through the tabs and figure the coordinates of each tab's graphic, or something.

  • Trigger tabbed panes

    I have 3 tabbed panes in the application, if I do something on tab 1, I want trigger and get tab 2 updated based on tab 1's info, I couldn't make it works.
    I think maybe the tab2 alreay painted you can't change the layout and could not hold it at that moment, so I tried to save tab 2 object initially, then when I am in the tab 1 want something for tab 2 , I get the saved tab2 object to do the task, it seems not working, could someone give me a help?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply!
    Actrually the thing is like this, do something in tab1, add a new entry in a drop down list which is in a subpane of tab2, and this subpane object is saved to a data hander class (dh) at very begining when paint the application
    =======tab 1 code=======
    public class Tab1 {
       // action performed after button click
       private void updateInfo() {
            // get the saved subPane object from a data handler object
           SubPane sp = dh.getSubpane();
           sp.addNewEntry();
           sp.repaint();
    } ====tab2 code====
    public class Tab2 {
      private SubPane s;  // Subpane will add to tab2 panel
       public Tab2() {
          s=new SubPane();
          dh.setSubPaneObject();  // save subPane as needed later
    }===== subPane code===
    public class SubPane{
        // define the method to add new entry in the drop down
        public void addnewEntry() {
            myComboBox.addItem("New Entry");
    }After run this the "New Entry" never can add to the drop down, nothing happen in the subpane....
    Thanks for the help!!

  • MSI GE620DX overheating upon startup need help!

    my msi ge suddenly overheats upon startup, no apps or games opened and still the nvidia processor is enabled, meaning the red led indicator on power button is enabled instead of blue... any help???   the cpu is overheating even if no apps or whatsoever, just upon startup, i already updated the bios which is the latest, 10R....

    Quote from: najiro;1251
    What's the idle temperature anyway? So here's the thing about nvidia laptop gpus. they have the "Optimus Technology".. basically it enables your system to switch from integrated to the discrete depending on use.
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimus_technology.html
    this might be a noob question but are you certain you installed the laptop gpu version of the drivers? they are different from desktop drivers. I think something's also wrong with your registry.. a malware perhaps since it sounds like the optimus technology thing is not working properly. Have you tried system restore?
    yes i restored my laptop already, i did almost every possible tweaks, like updating my bios,
    i also used the msi gpu driver only, but still problem persist. the only thing that fixes it is by opening task manager, which switches the gpu to integrated. meaning it works properly with task manager on. is it weird right? any help?

  • Can I use JavaScript to force objects to overlap a Web Object in Captivate 7?

    Hi, so I have all of these great ideas for using Web Objects to enhance my courses, but am discouraged by the fact that I can't seem to get anything to overlap a Web Object. The only thing I can seem to get to overlap a Web Object is another Web Object. I have found that buttons seem to still work under the Web Object (which is good) but I really would like to know of a way to allow things on the Captivate timeline to be viewed on top of them. Things like text fields and images.
    I've seen posts about how to use JavaScript to have the menu show above Web Objects, but that code doesn't seem to work for regular objects. I read that Web Objects sit in an "<iframe>" tag and that that forces it to appear above everything else. I'm left wondering if it is possible to get around this by somehow putting Captivate objects in an <iframe> of their own with JavaScript? Or is there some other way? Does anybody know any JavaScript I can apply to Captivate objects to get them to appear above a Web Object?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    So I have come to learn that the "<iframe>" tag for a Web Object is simply a window that sits on top of the course. Now I'm wondering if anyone has an effective method for importing flash quality animation (in whatever form) that can sit underneath of Captivate objects and still be HTML5 compliant?
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • How can I make a tabbed pane transparent ?

    I have a tabbed pane placed on a JPanel with an image background. I added a tabbed pane with tabbedPane.setOpaque (false), however I still can't see the image behind the components that were added as tabs in the tabbedpane. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Here's a simplified version of the code:
    public class Example extends JPanel {
         public Example() {
              tabs = new JTabbedPane();
              tabs.setOpaque (false);
              JPanel tp1 = new JPanel();
              tp1.setOpaque(false);
              tabs.addTab ("panel 1", tp1);
              this.add (tabs);
         public void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
              // Paint background image
              g.drawImage(...);
    }

    Perhaps the opaque property is internally overset by the tab pane.
    Try this:
       public class Example extends JPanel {
          public Example() {
             JTabbedPane tabs = new JTabbedPane() {
                public boolean isOpaque() {
                   return false;
             JPanel tp1 = new JPanel() {
                public boolean isOpaque() {
                   return false;
             tabs.addTab("panel 1", tp1);
             this.add (tabs);
          public void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
             // Paint background image
             g.drawImage(...);
       } Regards.

    This part of tabbed pane is not customizable as it lies in the ComponentUI(TabbedpaneUI) portion of the tabbedpane.
    But I can point out the place u can change to bring the desired feature into effect.
    U can find an Inner class called ScrollableTabSupport
    Look for the methods createButtons where u can create extra buttons and add to the tabbed pane.
    The Inner class also implements actionListener where u can implement the action for the button u added.
    By this method U have to use your own extended TabbedPaneUI which u cant escape from.
    Hope this will help u.

  • How to a particular panel in a tabbed pane to the front?

    Hello
    I have a small application that uses a tabbed pane. At some point I want to press a button in one of the panels of the tabbed pane and then another panel in the same tabbed pane to show up, as if I had clicked on that tab to bring it to the front.
    Only difference is I don't want to click on the tab to do it but on another button, so I can do some more stuff through the button before I bring the other panel to the front
    I thought I could do this by getting focus, but it seems not to be the case. Getting focus does not mean coming to the front as I originally thought.
    I hope this is clear. Here is an example that you can compile and run. I want to get jpanel2 to the front by clicking jbutton1 and vice versa.
    Any help appreciated.

  • Ideas for a "virtually" tabbed pane

    I'm developing on this application for keeping information about products and customers in a shop.
    In my "product manager" window I would like to have tabbed pane with an input interface for different types of goods in each tab respectively. But since the interface is more or less the same for different products (with fields like product name beeing persistent), it would be better to just alter the input components programmatically (in the pane's stateChanged event), rather than having to duplicate components for 7 different tabs... Hope my point gets through. This is strictly a matter of Look & Feel -- this is the most neat sollution i could think of :)

    But since the primary focus of our project is not GUI-programming, isn't it fair to post a "quicky" here, to draw some knowledge from experts like you? So that I don't have to spend my entire day working out UI, when I prefered to focus on the data model of my program. • I have a MacBook Pro, it recently started freezing upon startup. It would get to a blue screen and just sit there. I've tried booting in safemode to run disk repair and still doesnt help. If I do manage to get past the blue screen, it still freezes

    My mac keeps freezing upon startup. It will get to the blue screen and promptly freeze. If I manage to get past the blue screen, and open up youtube on google chrome, it will freeze before it loads youtube. I've tried safeboot and disk repair, nothing seems to work. I even tried to factory reset it but it wont connect to my internet when I reboot with power + option.. any ideas?

    This can be used to boot the machine and delelte enough files to get it to boot normally.

  • IMac G3 will not recognize USB upon startup?

    The iMac G3 seems to be fine hardware wise, however, it will not accept any input upon startup and I cannot boot from a CD. I have tried booting whole holding down the C key, tried booting into options, open firmware, etc. All with no luck, it just continues to boot into a very blank OS 9.2 screen which I can do nothing with. Once it has "booted" I can move the mouse around, so the UBS ports do work, they're just not recognized when the machine turns on. I am using a standard Apple USB "Blue" Keyboard from 1999, so I can't imagine that being the problem.
    I believe it is running a very old version of Macintosh Manager, as after a half hour it gives up trying to find a connection and asks me for a Admin Username and Password to quit into the finder, I have none. I am trying to boot using an original retail version of Mac OS X v10.0.3. This should theoretically be fine, as the firmware update was for v10.2 and newer, correct?
    I have no idea, even if the CD drive is dead, shouldn't I at least be able to boot into terminal, open firmware, or startup manager?
    Please help.

    Jjust out of curiousity, what are you using for "boot from cd"?
    I'd concur with your assesment of a bad cd drive. Perhaps you could try another drive from ebay.
    Is this a try or slot iMac?  Does the slot of firewire?  I'd get a firewire cd drive if your machine supports it.
