hi All,
I have a css sheet with some setting for tables.
I would like to override these css settings for 1 table only in the middle of the page.
How do I do this?

here is what the css says - (don't really want to change what is there) - but I can add to it ...
- but i want to change the TABLE basics - width:100%; height:100%; border:0px; etc. - seems these are GLOBAL settings for ALL tables - correct? how do I change these for just the 1 table?

What is "Override Common Settings"?

Certain configuration settings exist at the Phone, Common Phone Profile, and the Enterprise Phone Configuration
If you set a parameter at any of the following above mentioned levels - the setting that takes precedence is determined in the following order:
1) Device Configuration window settings, 2) Common Phone Profile window settings, 3) Enterprise Phone Configuration window settings.
For example - in the following example - Web Access would be DISABLED.
Enterprise Phone Configuration
Web Access = Enabled
Override Common Settings = Unchecked

What if this was the scenario:

Yes, in your second example the web access would be disabled as the normal order does apply when making changes at the product-specific configuration level . The key to the override config is this part of the statement below;
Override Common Settings Check Box
When you set the parameters, check the Override Common Settings check box for each setting that you wish to update. If you do not check this box, the corresponding parameter setting does not take effect. If you set the parameters in the three configuration windows, the setting takes precedence in the following order:
Phone Configuration window
Common Phone Profile window
Enterprise Phone Configuration window

Forefront TMG can't overrides NPS settings.

Hello every one!
I install Forefront TMG 2010 with all service packs and Rollups on Windows server 2008R2 with all Microsoft updates
But when I configure VPN settings in Forefront TMG, I can set NPS policy settings at first VPN configuration in Forefront TMG.
But if I change some firewall rule after VPN configuration, Forefront TMG can't overrides NPS settings.
What I do wrong? I try to reinstall it on other PC, but the problem remains.

Yes I try to restart Forefront services, but it can't solve my problem. After that Forefront can't override NPS policy.
Also I try to repair Forefront TMG via Control Panel -> Programs and components (appwiz.cpl) but it did not help.
I try to install Forefront to other PC with clean windows server 2008R2 with all updates, but problem remains.
I dont understand what I do wrong.
That's what I was doing:
1) Install Windows Server 2008R2
2) Install All windows updates
3) add routes to my internal network via cmd (route add -p {network} {mask} {gateway} )
4) Install Forefront TMG 2010 Enterprize
5) Install SP1, SP2, Last Rollup (Rollup 5)
6) Then I reboot server
7) Then I open TMG console and set network settings via Forefront wizard
8) Then I set web proxy policy via Forefront wizard
9) Then I open VPN configuration in Forefront console.
10) In VPN configuration I set VPN access groups, set PPTP (I configure vpn client access) set static ip address pool for vpn, and dns servers for vpn clients)
11) I apply VPN configuration and turn it on in TMG console.
12) On this step I check NPS policy settings, after first VPN apply I see my VPN access groups in NPS policy.
13) Then I add firewall rule in TMG console to allow VPN clients to several computers in my network, and add the group authorization (via Active Directory) to this rule.
14) I add authorization group from previous step to VPN access groups via TMG console in VPN configuration tab.
15) I apply configuration in TMG console.
16) After previous step i don't see new authorization group in NPS server policy, Forefront can't change that after I create firewall rule.
I don't understand what I do wrong.

Have problems to get video capabilities(vendor config) of phone if Override Common Settings not checked

I try to get video capabilities(vendor config) by using following Query:

Phone Configuration
If the checkbox Override Common Settings next to Video Capabilities is checked, then i get my video capabilities. Otherwise i don't get them.
The method getPhone outputs the same result.
My Question
     -Do you know in which table in the database I can find the default settings for the video capabilities for the phone?
     -or any ideas how I can solve the problem?

I just experienced an issue with a customer, unless I checked in the box to Override Common Settings, the video capabilities on the phone devices was still defaulted to NO.
What is "Override Common Settings"? It is available to select under "Enterprise Phone Configuration", under "Common Phone Profile, and under the device settings of a phone. What does it actually do?

Need to override CSS style for link

I've set up a page with an external style sheet. I have a
link within a heading that I want to look different from my CSS
link style (I want it to match the heading). Is there a way to
override the basic style? I tried setting up a class and that
didn't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Clearly there is a typo there. It should be either this -
.heading a:link {
(leading dot for heading - no SPACE after the colon)
or this -
#heading a:link {
depending on whether there is a custom class or an ID
selector being used to
identify the container for the link.

Unable to override printer settings anymore!

I use IDCS2 and a Konica Minolta Magicolor 2450 printer.
My problem is that I can no longer override the default printer settings from InDesign!
To give an example: I have a document in color, that I need to print in grayscale using ONLY the black toner of the printer. Okay, so before, I just went to the printer settings from within InDesign and set the color settings to grayscale and hit OK. The document was indeed printed in grayscale, using only the black toner.
Now, I can't save that setting by pressing OK in the printer settings dialog. Because what happens, is that it's set back to the default setting which is "color". It doesn't matter whether I try to save the setting in the printer dialog and chosing that setting, because that will also be reset for unknown reason.
Neither does it matter if I make all the necessary settings and save it inside InDesign in its own print dialog.
So in my case, I cannot even print in grayscale with only the black toner, from InDesign CS2 anymore. Neither can I print with other temporary changes.
This has been working perfectly well before, but now, suddenly it doesn't.
Also, this is only a problem in InDesign. Saving temporary changes (for the document which is opened in a software) works just fine in all other programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, ...or whatever else it may be, Excel or whatever. InDesign is the only program where I cannot save printer settings temporarily anymore.
Anyone who have experienced this problem before? What was your solution?

Found a solution! HOWEVER, it's not what have been proposed.
Peter, I followed your instructions for trashing my prefs. I started up InDesign and it was like when I first started it with options at the beginning etc. - I knew the prefs were indeed cleared. So I opened up my document to try printing with the black toner only by selecting grayscale. I opened up the settings, chose grayscale in the color options and hit OK. I went back to the same options but still the settings have been reset to the default! I was disappointed since this meant I had to reinstall InD - something I really don't like to do.
I moved back the old prefs to the correct folder and started up InD - now with the old prefs again. I once again tried to print with grayscale, but nothing has changed.
So just for fun, I tried if there was the same problem when printing with "Adobe PDF" (print to a PDF file) instead of printing with the physical printer. So in the InDesign printer settings dialog, I chose "Adobe PDF" instead of "KONICA MINOLTA mc2450 PS". Then in Adobe PDF's own print dialog I chose "black and white" instead of "color" and hit OK. Then I went back there again to see if the changes stuck, or if they was reset like with the Konica Minolta printer.
So what happened? The settings DID stuck!!!
So I am wondering, does this have to do with the Konica Minolta printer??? It shouldn't since it works well in other programs, including other Adobe programs!
So for fun and out of frustration, I chose the default "KONICA MINOLTA mc2450 PS" instead of "Adobe PDF" in the InDesign printer dialog and then went to the printers own settings to set it to grayscale as usual. I hit OK whereupon I went back to the printers own settings to check if the changes had stuck.
What do I see? The settings HAD stuck! What on earth?!?!?!?!
After a couple of more tries, I now understood, that what needs to be done, is that one have to actively chose the printer before continuing to any settings.
Bottom line - and the solution:
Somehow, even when the correct printer is selected, InDesign somehow doesn't recognize the pre-defined printer and can therefore not make the necessary settings to remain.
What needs to be done is to re-select the correct printer, by first selecting something else (another printer or "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" or whatever) then again selecting the printer of your choice, and then InDesign will recognize the correct printer.
Personally, I think this problem comes up when one have re-installed the printer with the same name as before. And since the re-installed printer have the same name/title as the last installed one (since it IS the same printer, only re-installed for some reason), InDesign CAN HAVE that printer pre-selected in its own printer dialog. HOWEVER, something have probably changed since that re-install, like some hidden printer-ID numbers or some other random ID number that is always assigned to a printer when its installed, resulting in InDesign not recognizing the printer itself because of the new random printer ID number (or whatever it may be), even though the correct printer (by name) is selected.
What do you think?
In any way, I hope this will help others in the same situation, with the same problem!

Hyperlink Behaviour Overriding CSS Specification

The hyperlinks of my project don't obey the CSS style
specified for "Hyperlink {hovered)" in which text is not
italicized. Some remain italicized even when the mouse pointer is
position over them. Others don't. There's no apparent rhyme or
reason to it.
I've compared code that behaves as it should to code that
doesn't and I don't notice any difference. Has anyone had trouble
with this before? My project links as inconsistent as a result, and
I can't seem to figure it out.

I see Harvey hinted at this but wasn't explicit in pointing
it out.
It's quite possible that you have styling declared in the
topic itself. This is known as an Embedded style and these will
override anything specified in your linked Style Sheet.
To check this, edit the topic and click the HTML tab. Look
near the top of the page code. Do you see *ANYTHING* style related
other than something that looks like this?:
<link rel=StyleSheet href="SomeStleSheet.css">
You might see something that looks like this:
<style type="text/css">
</style>
If you see code like that in the HTML of the topic, delete
everything beginning with <style type="text/css"> and ending
with </style>. Then test your topic.

Auto Style Overriding CSS

I have a few situations where RoboHelp HTML 9 (9.0.0.228) is cluttering up my HTML by auto adding style statements to HTML tags that override the instructions from the CSS file. I am only irritated when it rewrites the following because the auto style is simply a duplicated instruction.
<strong> to <strong style="font-weight: bold;">
But when it add inline style statements to link tags it becomes unusable because it overrides my CSS instructions.
<a> to <a style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">
Am I causing this to happen somehow? Is there a setting in RoboHelp where I can turn off theserewrites?

I ashamed to say that I didn't know about the '!important' declaration for CSS. I applied !important to my links <a> and they all work now, even when RH tries to overwrite my CSS work.
Your solution has reduced my situation from unusable to merely irritating.

Override client settings "recently used applications"

Hi,
On few Terminal servers we are experiencing badmifs for hinv because of the filesize is exceeded. We have a separate client agent settings policy for our "Terminal servers" so I thought of just disabling the "Recently used Applications"
class in Hardware Inventory.
What I tried:
default policy: Class "Recently used app" checked and Hinv = NO (order 10000)
All servers policy: Class "Recently used app" checked and Hinv = YES (order 4)
Terminal server policy: Class "Recently used app" unchecked and Hinv = YES (order 3) -> after unchecking and verifying again by opening the properties, the setting is not saved (but checked again) ->
This does not work
default policy: Class "Recently used app" unchecked and Hinv = NO (order 10000)
All servers policy: Class "Recently used app" checked and Hinv = YES (order 4)
Terminal server policy: Class "Recently used app" unchecked and Hinv = YES (order 3)
-> These 3 policies are deployed on a terminal server and the result is: Class "Recently used apps" =
CHECKED. I would have expected that the policy with the lowest order (highest priority) would win, but I does not work for this setting.
-> If I disable the HWinv in the Terminal Server policy, then indeed it overrides the "All servers policy" settings and disables HWinv
Is it possible to achieve this? (disable this class only for terminal servers?)

You'll want to do something like...
a Collection of "All Servers Except Terminals Servers" (you can use the "Exclude Collection" in the collection properties to Exclude Terminal Servers, and the Include Collection to include your current All Servers collection)
default policy = no
All Servers policy = yes pointed to the "All Servers Except Terminal Servers" collection
Terminal Servers policy = make it have the same stuff as in the current "All Servers" policy--but with RUA unchecked.

Gnome shell overrides locale settings?

Untill yesterday I put:
export LC_TIME=it_IT
in ~/.profile and it let me see date in thunderbird in italian format (dd/MM/YYYY).
Today gnome-shell crashed at login... after some thinking I commented some files among which .fonts.conf and others and then when I re-created .profile gnome-shell didn't crashed anymore.
But my date in thunderbird now are in american format! (MM/dd/YYYY).
I put the above export line in .profile, .xprofile, .bashrc, .bash_profile, /etc/profile and noone of those work!
I if star thunderbird via terminal the date format is it_IT (dd/MM/YYYY) (this because of .bashrc I guess), if I login into a XFCE session LC_TIME is correctly exported and thunderbird also show dd/MM/YYYY as date format.
I tried also with it_IT.UTF-8 instead of it_IT and nothing to do... so I change preferences about "Region and Language" in gnome system settings and it works (but also my clock panel date format is changed...)
It seems like gnome shell session override my setting..
Can I setup LC_TIME for thunderbird in gnome_shell as I launch it from terminal or in a XFCE session?

Ok, i didn't specify but i want my system in English and only the date (of thunderbird and other date of other application as well), and it was like so with LC_TIME=it_IT put in ~/.profile that now work only in XFCE. I can try to set LANG variable but I am looking for only changing of date in italian format leaving other number/string system format in english/american: I guess can be done with LC_TIME value, but other methods those work are well accepted as well

How do I: swap image in background when I have overriding CSS for that div

Hi: let's see if I can properly explain this delema:
Goal: I want to hover on spry menu main menu items and have the container background image change
Catch: I am using a template and have different background images on each page so I had to insert an inline CSS rule for the container bg image that overrides the template.
Now I want the background image to change when I hover over the main menu items
any ideas??

I don't see any real need to switch style sheets for something as mundane as change of bg image. Here's an alternative:
1) Add this to the head of your pages right before the closing </head> tag:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/bgSwitcher.js"> </script>
<link href="/css/bgimages.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
2) Then edit your menu items to add an onmouseover event that calls the "newbg()" function, with a memorable classname as a parameter appropriate for each menu item, like this:
<li><a href="firm_overview.html" onmouseover="newbg('foverview')">FIRM OVERVIEW</a></li>
<li><a href="firm_team.html" onmouseover="newbg('mteam')">MANAGEMENT TEAM</a></li>
<li><a href="code.pdf" target="_blank" onmouseover="newbg('cethics')">CODE OF ETHICS</a></li>
Please note my classnames were crafted to reflect the text of the link, like "Firm Overview" -> "foverview" rather than the imagename you will be using for the bg, so in the future if you decide to change that image, the classname will still make sense for that link!
3) and then in an external style sheet named "bgimages.css" which I've put in a /css/ folder (but you are free to rename all these paths, filenames etc)
put these:

Override css font color for input textfield?

I'm trying to override a font color for an input field that
is defined in a css. My css for the field looks like this:
input.text {
font-size: 1.5em;
color: #602E0C;
width: 400px;
I've added input.textfieldHintState { color: #999; } below it
but its not displaying the new color for the hint. The hint is the
same color as before. I'm trying to make the hint in the input
field somewhat grayed out.
Anyone know how to do this?

I have turned highlighting CSS settings from the code off and can't figure how to get it back?

I have done this a few times and don't know how to get it back or even the right term to google so thats why I am here.
You know where you select a div name or bit of code and it shows you it's settings under the CSS Properties.
Well mine don't change so I take it I have turned off some setting....can anyone tell me what I did and how to turn it back on for future reference.

I have the CSS Properties set to current.
When I used to select each div the properties would show for each one....I found that a fast way of working.
When I select a different Div in the code it doesn't change the values to that div.
See how I have the div activemainnavigation selected in the code and yet the summary for selection still shows the CSS properties of the footercredits div.

How to Get A Default Folder View That Overrides Other Settings?

Hi Thanks for checking my question. Now I have a default folder view that display things nicely every time I open finder. But whenever I attach a external drive or a card reader or connect to a networked drive, my default setting is overridden by all the previous folder views I had for those hard drives/cards/network locations. Is there a way to use my folder view settings in the highest priority, so that whatever I opened in finder (local, external or remote) will show itself in the same manner?
Any enlightenment is appreciated.

Actually the view I get from opening a folder seems to depend on HOW I opened it as well. If I clicked finder on the dock and navigate to my Downloads folder I get the view I want, but if I opened Downloads folder by clicking its dock icon (as a stack I guess?) the view is the same old view I got before I changed my default folder view. How can I fix this so I may have a very consistent-looking finder window?

Is it possible to override CSS for Region Background ???

I'm trying to use OracleXE - APEX as my main Portal. The look & feel of the page is important, since I don't like to look just like any other out of the box application I like to setup a custom Theme or custom Style.
Since we don't have a lot of themes going on, and I like to keep things simple. what about this positioning trick:
In a html region enter the following code:
< img STYLE="position:absolute;TOP:350px;LEFT:600px;" src="http://www.oracle.com/admin/images/ocom/oralogo_small.gif" />
This will put the Oracle Logo in the specific position of the page required. It worked ok for areas or regions without Text. I'm not able to put as background just like the Body
in the main page background

Is just a little trick to put images in some sections of the page, If somebody have some ideas regarding how to override the style setting of some HTML Region for some pic or color background it would be great !!!.
