OWB packages runtime dumps

Hi everyone,
I would like to know how to prevent OWB package from writing dumps to $ORACLE_HOME/admin/.../udump directory.
When I run a package from OEM it sometimes writes quite a large dump file like <DBname>ora99999.trc
We have problem with space so that I'd like to stop it.
Is it a problem of OWB(2I) or oracle database (8.1.7)?
Thanks for help
Petr Benes

Hi David,
We are close to releasing the windows version. Then the porting team will start on the ports. A rough estimate would be that this will take some 4 - 8 weeks (I'm being conservative here).
What you may be able to do to overcome this wait is to develop on Win2k and then export/import the runtime schemas onto the AIX box. That will allow all PL/SQL stuff to work. You can then later add the software.
Note I would only do this in development, not in production unless you really, really have to...

    ***********END PLSQL RUNTIME DUMP************Unfortunatly I have little experience regarding interpreting these kind of dumps...am googling and searching on it now, but perhaps somebody here has done this numerous times already...
    I'm finding out what's the best way to use the information from the dump and locate at what point in the code during processing the error occurs.
    Unfortunatly this happens during extensive dynamic SQL processing, and the 'custom error handling' fails as well, so I have no other information than like the snippet above. I think I know what package errors out and what procedure, but is there a way to map the information above to the correct line number and/or package variable? Can this information linked to the DataDictionary for example?
    That would be far more efficient than debugging this legacy 'code'...
    Regarding the error code:
    ORA-06540: PL/SQL: compilation error
    Cause: A pl/sql compilation error occurred. However, the user generally will not see this error message. Instead, there will be accompanying PLS-nnnnn error messages.
    Action: See accompanying PLS-nnnnn error messages.
    Unfortunatly I haven't found any accompanying PLS messages....

    edit
    Found MOS doc [ID 3658039.8], and given the dynamic SQL code + lots of data to crunch (and thus killing the shared pool) I'm wondering if it could be that something comparable is going on here...especially since the jobs do not crash when importing much smaller files.

  • Runtime Dump: FRONTEND_ERROR : RAISE_EXCEPTION

    Hi,
    We are getting a Runtime Dump RAISE_EXCEPTION in production.
    I know this error, but the error is occuring in function module "WS_QUERY".
    It is raised at line 265..
    It seems to be some error with the Operating system. I am not sure.
    Below is the extract from dump:
    Error analysis
        A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLGRAP" raised the exception
        condition "FRONTEND_ERROR".
        Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
        program, processing was terminated.
        Short description of exception condition:
        For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
        Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
        function module from the display of active calls.
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "RAISE_EXCEPTION" " "
    "SAPLGRAP" or "LGRAPU32"
    "WS_QUERY"
    or
    "SAPLGRAP" "FRONTEND_ERROR"
    or
    "RAIMRECH " "FRONTEND_ERROR"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
    notification to SAP, include the following information:
      Program............. "SAPLGRAP"
      Screen.............. "SAPMSSY0 1000"
      Screen line......... 6
    Information on where terminated
        Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLGRAP" - in "WS_QUERY".
        The main program was "RAIMRECH ".
        In the source code you have the termination point in line 266
        of the (Include) program "LGRAPU32".
    I have searched on OSS Notes, but could not find any related notes.
    Please guide.

  • Java.nio package Runtime error java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError.

    Hi
    I am using nio package and create a java program for file locking (FileLocking.java).
    Here is the sample
    try {
    file = new File("C:/acc.txt");
    channel = new RandomAccessFile(file, "rw").getChannel();
         lock = channel.lock(0, Long.MAX_VALUE, true);
    try {
              lock = channel.tryLock(0, Long.MAX_VALUE, true);
    catch (OverlappingFileLockException e) {
    return true;
    using wsad 5.1 and jdk1.4 i compiled this program.
    While executing i got the following runtime error..

    Exception in thread "main"
    Even if i try to recompile it in command prompt and run, i got the same error.
    please suggest me how can i overcome this problem.

    UnsupportedClassVersionError means that you are trying to execute a class for a newer version of the JVM on an older version of the JVM.
    Version 48.0 is for Java 1.4, so you have compiled your class with JDK 1.4.
    The computer you are trying to run the class on, has an older version of Java than 1.4 - check it!
    Try recompiling your source files with the "-target" switch, for example if you're running on Java 1.3, try compiling with:
    javac -target 1.3 ... FileLocking.java

  • OWB package import error. PRS-00318. In need of urgent help

    Hello everyone,
    I am having a weird error when i try to import a package in owb. Saying "PRS-00318: SQL Error encountered while updating CMPALLFOLDERFCO for key ********************************* Please contact Oracle Support with the stack trace and details on how to reproduce it. " ( neglect the ** i didnt want to write that bit )
    This started to happen a couple of days ago. When i try to import a package or re-import them it seems like the procedures in the packages all seems like they are requiring a parameter ( i understand it in the import window, the paranthesis after the procedure name like procudre_name( ) ) But actually there is not a parameter required for the procedure to work. It is not declared at all. When i hit the import button it gives me the error below.

    Well i have no idea what is going on. Even the existing packages ( that are imported long before this error ocurred ) are showing the procedures with parameters.
    Anyone having any idea how to solve this problem ?
    Your help would be appreciated.

    finally sorted it out! it had something to do with the ArrayCollection in the mx.collections not being linked to the AS hence the error. so heres what i did:
    import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
    import flash.net.registerClassAlias;
    registerClassAlias("flex.messaging.io.ArrayCollection", ArrayCollection);
    i imported the ArrayCollection class and the registerClassAlias class into the AS i was using and then registered the alias then voila! error gone!

  • OWB Package Error

    Has anyone encountered the following error with OWB?
    ORA-20102: Fatal Error or Maximum number of errors exceeded?

    The Oracle Errors with a code of 20000 or higher are user defined errors. In this case, it probably means that the number of errors encountered during the load is higher than the one defined by you when you configured the mapping. The default value for this property is 50 but you can change it (right click on the mapping, expand the Runtime Parameters and change the value of the Maximum Number of Errors property).
    To see what exactly happened during the load (the errors that caused ORA-20102 to be raised) go to the Runtime Audit Browser, click 'View Errors', select the errors and click on the 'View error details' button.

  • Use OWB packages to deploy on another database

    Hello,
    Is it possible to use OWB to create the ETL packages and then copy the package to another database (where OWB has not been setup) and execute the package there, or must I setup OWB on the new database?
    thanks

    You may also benefit from this :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/htdocs/OWBExchange.html?cat=ALP&submit=search
    Headless Deployment of Generated Code          10gR2     May 2009
    Generate OWB code to allow for deployment to and execution on database hosts where OWB is not installed.
    and also described here:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/2009/05/headless_operation_owb_code_generation_going_it_alone.html
    You will at least need a repository in the target, but do not need to install anything in the filesystem and no control center service there.

  • Getting Runtime dump AMDP_VERSION_MISMATCH

    Hi ,
    i have created AMDP procedure and call it from ABAP object. It shows the above mentioned dump in  test system while it works perfectly in dev system.
    Dump's details are :
    Version conflict when calling a database procedure
      Version conflict when calling database procedure
      "CL_FSH_ARUN_UTIL_HANA=>GET_SO_REQMTS".
    Error Analysis
        An exception has occurred which is explained in more detail below. The
        exception is assigned to class 'CX_AMDP_VERSION_MISMATCH' and was not caught
         in procedure
        "GET_SO_REQMTS" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
        Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated this
        exception, the current program was terminated.
        The reason for the exception is:
        Database procedure
        CL_FSH_ARUN_UTIL_HANA=>GET_SO_REQMTS
        was modified while the program was running. This error occurs if the
        current program has already loaded class
        CL_FSH_ARUN_UTIL_HANA
        , and the database procedure or one of the database procedures used by
        it was modified during execution of the program.
        The following versions of database procedure
        CL_FSH_ARUN_UTIL_HANA=>GET_SO_REQMTS
        were found: 20140501141308 (version of the database procedure in the current
        program) 20140428084400 (current version of the database procedure).
    How can I solve this?

    Hello Ritu,
    Execute the program RSDBGEN_AMDP, select the "Delete database objects?
    The AMDP runtime then automatically creates all required database objects.

    Shyam

  • OWB remote runtime

    Hello,
    I have a question with different owb installation scenario. in the doc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/install.102/b28224/install_rep02.htm
    "Figure 2-5 Control Center Service Installed on a Local Server"
    there are two repositories one on the local server and the other on the remote server .
    what is the different between the two repositories ? and where the target user is registered ?
    why to use this implementation type ?
    Thanks
    Mohamed

    Hi Mohamed,
    the repository on the local server is used as the design repository. This is where you develop the mappings.
    The mappings are deployed to the remote server. You need a repository installed there to act as the runtime environment for the mappings. The target user has be be registered at the repository on the remote server. The mappings are only executed on the remote server.
    To be able to deploy from the local server to the remote server, you have to create a new control center in the local repository that connects to the repository on the on the remote server.
    Often, you have not only one remote server, but at least two: one for testing and the other for production. On the local server you only develop the mappings. So make sure you have a backup of the local server, since that is where all your work is done.
    Good luck,
    Carsten.

    you need to use something called OCA/ODBC- in your installation of Forms there is a file called oca_info.pdf which describes how to connect forms to different data sources.

  • Package runtime error

    Hi.
    When I test the code within the flash development environment
    i get no errors returned, however, when i run the code i get the
    following error;
    1037: Packages cannot be nested.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Barry.
    The Code:

    buttons is probably an XMLList class member and not an XML
    class member. and i don't think you're going to return anything in
    buttons. but that's not causing the error message.
    you must have that file stored in a directory different from
    your flash html and you must be using a path somewhere in your swf
    to refererence the class.
    show your swf file code relevant to this class.

  • Runtime Dump solution required

    when running the program in background it gives short dump at a remote function call(CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_MAIL'

           TABLES

    It was logged under the name "RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT"
    on the called page.
    what happended : ("mail terminated with exit code 256 (Command not found ?)."
    The current ABAP/4 program had to be terminated because
    of the above FM statements could not be executed.
    This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program.
    The error occurred in an RFC call to another system.
    The target system has also written a short dump.
    where is the change required ? and what is the exact problem..?

    Hi Mahesh,
    please make sure that the hostname 'sapserver' on your sap server resolves to an IP address that can be bound by a server process. You can check this with the following commands:
    niping -t -H sapserver
    the output should contain a line like
    MyAddrVerify   (sapserver, NULL)                           rc = 0
    and:
    niping -s -H sapserver
    (niping can be foundin the executable directory of you installation).
    If these commands work out and you still see the problem, you should at least provide the name of the dump.
    Best regards

  • How to package the runtime into APK with Flash Pro + AIR 3 SDK?

    Hi
    I'm very glad to update my AIR SDK from 2.7 to 3.0 and everything seems working well. But how can I package runtime into .apk file with Flash Pro?
    Should I change the XXXXX-app.xml manually?
    Thanks

    Thanks, that explains a lot.
    I'm afraid I'm a bit confused about what the preferred way of developing extensions is going ahead. There seems to be a lot of conflicting documentation on the adobe site, e.g. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite.html  seems like the top page for extension documentation but it only talks about CS SDK 2.0 which uses CSXS and doesn't seem to be compatible with creative cloud apps.
    Then there's CS Extension Builder 2.1 which looks like it supports Flash Pro CC but isn't mentioned in the pages you linked too and it doesn't mention JSFL, but talks about the CSAW library.
    Do you know if:
    * The CS SDK has been dropped completely?
    * CS Extenstion Builder is deprecated? (I can't see it as an option in the list of Creative Cloud apps)
    * Is then any documentation/utilities to help migrate existing CSXS extensions to work with creative cloud apps?
    Thanks,
    Stephen
