OWB Process Schedule Logging

I have created a process and want to schedule it to run on a daily basis.
I created the calendar, applied it to the process, saved, deployed and started it.
The schedule now appears to run as required however when I check the execution in Control Center it is marked as completed successfully but opening up the instance it shows no rows appended and what looks like a progress bar is displayed at the bottom of the dialogue box. Additionally the stop button is enabled but if I click on this it tells me that the process has completed successfully.
Is this expected behaviour?
Thanks
Leo

Thanks for responding.
That appears OK in so far as the job is listed in the scheduled tab and when I double click on it the display shows some limited details abot the process (I have to refresh the window to show any information as it opens up blank).
One of my scheduled jobs displays an inserted row count, the other does not. I have checked that the processes are populating the tables and this appears to be OK.
I expected to be able to look at the execution log which appears to be created for each execution and get more information on each of the mappings within each process. When I manually execute the process this information is populated and available but with the scheduled jobs there is an entry but no data behind this.
As I mentioned, the process appears to be working the only issue is that the audit information does not appear to be displaying.
Thanks
Leo

  • Oracle 10G Database Control and Scheduling OWB Process Flow

Does anyone know how to go about scheduling an OWB Process Flow from
Oracle 10G Data Base Control. I knew how to do this with Oracle Enterprise Manager 9.2 but we recently upgraded to Oracle Db 10G and the interface has changed significantly.
Now the interface seems to require a PL/SQL stored procedure to be executed.
Is there a template procedure that is installed with 10G Data Base Control as there was for 9.2 i.e. oem_exec_template.sql?
    Thanks! Deadline approaching fast...
    Marion

I've used the oem_exec_template.sql successfully with OWB 10.1 and Oracle 10G Database Control, with a little trial and error at first.
I'm assuming that your job execution environment is set up correctly, ie. that you can properly execute jobs via the host agent.
    1. Log on to Database Control as SYSTEM, select Jobs from the links at the bottom of the page
    2. In the Results section, Create Job, select "SQL Script" and press Go
    3. In the General section, enter Job Name, and as SQL Script enter e.g.:
    @/u01/app/oracle/owb_oracle_home/owb/rtp/sql/oem_exec_template.sql owb_runtime WF_LOC PROCESS MY_PROCESS , ,
    4. In the Databases section, add your target database
    5. In the Credentials section, I select "Override Preferred Credentials" and use the agent account (oracle on my Linux system) and db user owb_access (OWB Runtime Access user)
    6. Review Schedule tab and submit
    Comments on step 3:
    - the oem_exec_template.sql script must be installed according to the path specified in step 3, on the database host where the OWB Runtime Repository is located
    - owb_runtime is the owner of my OWB Runtime Repository
    - WF_LOC is the name of my Workflow Location as seen in OWB Deployment Manager
    - MY_PROCESS is the name of a deployed Workflow Process
    - the commas indicate that I don't supply any system or custom parameters.
    - step 3 is actually a shell command line that is interpreted by eg. /bin/sh on Unix or cmd on Windows, and must obey proper quoting rules. On windows, I had to specify the empty commas as "\," (including dblquotes)

  • Start OWB Process Flow Schedule Job in Workflow Manager

I am trying to get the Oracle Workflow Schedule to execute my Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) Process Flow. Please note that execute Process Flow from the OWB deployment manager works fine. I did the following but nothing being executed:
    Info:
    OWB: 10g
    Oracle DB: 10g
    Oracle Workflow: 2.6.3
    OracelAS: NONE
    1. From the Oracle Workflow Manager browser, click the Background Engines->Submit New
    2. Insert the following parameter:

    3. Click ok and system showed "Successfully submitted Background Engine with job number 107"
However, after the specificied schedule time, nothing happened. No error shown in the Work Item.
Any help are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a Oracle Workflow client problem. Can you post this to the workflow forum (Workflow

  • Error in creating the process scheduler

    Hi all,
I recently installed with Peolesoft 8.9 and tools 8.49 and oracle 9i.
Now i tried to create the process scheduler.
I have got the error in the image http://narchu.coolinc.info/install_failed.html
    what i did.
from the menu i selected to create a new process scheduler.
    gave the name as fsdmo
    configure? yes
    changed the username to VP1
    changed the password to VP1
and then load the config as shown.
    start the process scheduler.
then it gave the error in the image in the above link.
The password is not gettin encrypted. i think it must be encrypted, but i am not sure.
Can any one please help solving it.
    Thank you,
    Bye.

I think if it is default installation without screwing anything VP1 can start app and Proc server.
But Nicolas is right, to get more we need log file....it may be database connectivity issue, password encryption issue , tuxedo issue and much more.If u can post the logs it will helpful to diagnose your issue.

    Thanks in advance...

First of all; if a problem is urgent then you should always contact Oracle support instead.
It looks like the domain is corrupt within Tuxedo. You could try to reconfigure the domain so that it will get recreated in Tuxedo. Make sure you have a backup before you do this. To reconfigure the domain simply open a CMD box and type the following command (from the appserver directory):
    psadmin -c configure -d "DOMAIN_NAME"
You can only use this command for the application server.

  • Process Flow log shows RPE-01003 on mapping execution

Process Flow log shows this following error mappings execution:
oracle.wh.runtime.platform.adapter.InfrastructureException: RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing.
    - no rows found for select into statement
The Process Flow never recover from this error - owb_owner.all_rt_audit_executions shows the mapping in BUSY and I have to manually abort the process flow to recover.
    Steps to Reproduce Problem:
We recently upgrade our test system from *10.2 into 11.1* and OWB client from *10.2.0.3 into 10.2.0.4*
During the upgrade DBA update OWB location setting into 11.1
After the upgrade, I re-deploy several Process Flows, but I did not re-deploy mappings that get call by the PF
When I run the PF, the mapping was stuck in 'BUSY' status (owb_owner.all_rt_audit_executions)
When i check the log it shows this following error:

    Steps to Reproduce Problem:
We recently upgrade our test system from 10.2 into 11.1 and OWB client from 10.2.0.3 into 10.2.0.4
During the upgrade DBA update OWB location setting into 11.1
After the upgrade, I re-deploy several Process Flows, but I did not re-deploy mappings that get call by the PF
When I run the PF, the mapping was stuck in 'BUSY' status (owb_owner.all_rt_audit_executions)
When i check the log it shows this following error:
oracle.wh.runtime.platform.adapter.InfrastructureException: RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the >request from completing.
    - no rows found for select into statementFirst deploy alll dependent object of Process Flow.
like tables ,mappings then try to execute PF.

Please let me know if this is possible in PeopleSoft.

yes, we can. check the below.
    1. make sure the Peopletools, process scheduler, system settings, distribution file options - has system file or display checked on.

  • Error Start Process Scheduler after configure Crystal Path

    Hi All,
Kindly help me to solve this issue. I'd installed Peoplesoft HCM 9.2, Application Server and Process Scheduler run sucessfull but after i install Crystal Report Runtime Redistribute 2008 and configure crystal path (C:\Program Files(x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86) i got this error when i try to start process scheduler

    Hi all,
    I am getting a similar message ...
failure: CORE3170: Configuration initialization failed: Error running init function load-modules: dlopen of /opt/SUNWwbsvr/plugins/passthrough/libpassthrough.so failed (ld.so.1: webservd: fatal: /opt/SUNWwbsvr/plugins/passthrough/libpassthrough.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64)
    +/usr/bin/isainfo -kv+ gives *64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules*
I have also added the path of libpassthrough.so in LD_LIBRARY_PATH .
What can be the reason now ?
I had downloaded SP4. Does my webserver(sunone 6.1) also needs an update of service pack 4 then ? (It was installed about 2 months ago).

  • App server , process scheduler , web server and DB scripts

    Team,
    Good Morning.
I am looking for the script which will help me in doing health check-up for app server , process scheduler , web server and DB.
The script should trigger a email when any one of the domain is down and when it get up.
    Waiting heartly

If you really only want scripts you should write them yourself. If you don't understand the script how can you be expected to support it, modify it, or add new features? You don't even indicate what OS your using? I could give you a copy of a powershell script but what good is that on a linux box?
You need to identify what you really are interested in monitoring. Is it process health only? actual system integrity? Do you need to know if a process count goes under a certain threshold? Is the processes scheduler really working? Is queuing occurring somewhere? Is the web server at a critical number of open sessions? log monitoring for keywords? Do you need to actually simulate a web session which would prove the full system is working in one execution, although it won't indicate a failure will occur where some other monitoring might?
This is why the others have recommended pre-built packages that already offer most of this. If you still want scripts, gather your requirements, think about what you really need, try some stuff on your own, and if you have a specific problem with a script or how to accomplish a particular system check, post a new question, and I'll do my best to help. I think you'll get a better response from everyone if you do that.

    Can anybody help me?

Its hard to tell why report distribution fails , there is a lot of criteria that needs to be in place to make it work.
Does the user have process scheduler admin/report distribution admin roles assigned ?
Is local node setup with user id/password ?It could be unix report node definition pointing to an incorrect location.
what is the reports location in web server config.properties file ?

  • Installing NT service for app and process scheduler (Windows 2003)

I have followed the install guide instructions for creating an NT service for the process scheduler, however, whenever I attempt to start the service I receive the following warning message:
The PeopleSoft H:\apps\psoft\PT849 service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.
The service does not start properly, however when launching the services via psadmin, both the app and process scheduler processes start properly.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have followed the install guide instructions for creating an NT service for the process scheduleWhat are the doc you've followed ?
It is well explained here below :

  • How to stop OWB Process Flow job

    I have a problem.
For scheduling OWB Process Flows I use EM (create Job - SQL Script) in which I schedule jobs with script @/home/oracle/scripts/oem_exec_template.sql.
Sometimes it happens, that the job doesn't finish and I also can't expedite it through Workflow manager because it is not listed there. So next executions for this job doesn't fire, because it is still active (it is shown in EM as Running …..and also I can't stop it there).
I also can't find the session for this job and also in dictionary I can't find the job, I went through these views, but nowhere I can't find any of my scheduled jobs, and of course also not the ones that are still running.
    DBA_SCHEDULER_JOBS
    DBA_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS
    DBA_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS
Where in dictionary can I find my jobs?
How can I kill my running jobs?
    OS: Red Hat Linux 3
    DB: 10.1.0.3.0
    OWB: 10.1.0.2.0
I'm quite desperate about this isue,
    Thank you,
    Gorazd

    Gorazd,
the best way to identify problem with processflow execution - using OWB Runtime Audit Browser.
Other variant - using public OWB runtime view, for example for reporting executions of you process run this select under OWB repository owner or any OWB user:
    select created_on,elapse_time,return_result from all_rt_audit_executions
    where object_name='<your processflow name in uppercase>' order by created_on;
RETURN_RESULT must be equal 'OK' and ELAPSE_TIME (in seconds) greater then 0.
If this query returns rows with null RETURN_RESULT or RETURN_RESULT<>'OK' or with zero elapse_time and this cases match (by date) with EM problems then you need analyze process executions in more detail with Runtime Audit Browser.
    Alternatively use select from view ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXEC_MESSAGES / ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUN_ERRORS / ALL_RT_AUDIT_PROC_RUN_ERRORS.
    Oleg

  • OWB Process flow deployment into auto sys

Can some one tell us the steps to be followed for deploying the owb PROCESS FLOW into Auto sys.
    Thanks

    Hi
    There was some work a few years ago, but not sure it was ever productized. You can integrate with any 3rd party scheduler (in a course manner), see the post here;
    http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/2008/11/using_3rd_party_schedulers_with_owb_1.html
    Cheers
