Packaging ID CS5 file - fonts not packaging
Packaging ID CS5 file - fonts not packaging even though it is checked off to do so. In the status my Open Type and Type 1 fonts are "incomplete". Any thoughts?

Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file
Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 9.0.3(Build 1325) and trying to extend a VO. Project > Import Business Components and select the VO, AM or EO xml because Sourcing Negotiation creation does not have a server.xml and I am getting the following message "Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file.". Should I make something else to enable extension?? Does a patch required to make extensions. Any help would be appreciated. What I know is that server.xml is not a must. This is the easiest way to import appropriate xml files. My question is, when I am trying to Project>Import Business Components > xxxVO.xml I am getting the above error although the xxxVO.xml is a Business Component. I wanna know that should some patch be applied to Jdeveloper (Build 1325)?? (by the way at first I tried with Build 1312 and the same error raised)

CS5 file will not open directly
My CS5 .INDD (7.0.4) file no longer opens directly from the Finder or within INDD. When opening, the beachball begins spining and "Force Quit" indicates INDD "Is not responsive". After force quiting and re-opening INDD, the file opens as an unsaved file. I've tried coping and pasting the one-page document, into a new file, but the same thing happens.
This all began when I attempted to create a "Package" of the document, using "File>Package". The package process would never complete and I was forced to force quit the program. The Package folder appeared to have all the files/fonts, but the resulting INDD file would not open, nor would the original INDD file. Although both will open as "recovered" files when INDD is re-booted.
How can I repair my file?
Thanks,
RayTher first thing I would do is move EVERYTHING out of the InDesign Recovery folder to a safe location (don't delete it, yet) so that ID is not trying to recover anything on startup. Taht should allow the program to either open cleanly, or confirm that the crash did serious damage to the program and let you know that you need to reinstall.
Once ID is open, try using File > Open... to open the files from the original locations. They may be damaged, also, and non-recoverable except from backups or the recovery data that you are preserving, if that isn't also corrupt. -
Hello,
I used ODT to download Office 2013 Pro 32-bit and now I am trying to create a package from those files. I use the command line:
Setup.exe /packager configuration.xml "E:\Office 2013 Pro App-v"
When I try to run this, I immidiatly get the following message:
"We found a problem! We're sorry, Office (32-bit) couldn't be installed because you have these 64-bit Office programs installed on your computer. Microsoft Office 2013. 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office programs don't get along, so you can only have
one type installed at a time. Please try installing the 64-bit version of Office instead, or uninstall your other 64-bit Office programs and try this installation again."
I checked my installed programs on the server, but I don't have Office 2013 64-bit installed. I did in the past create packages for Office 2013 64-bit , but it's currently not in published/installed on the server. I checked with revo uninstaller to be sure.
Is there a registry setting, or something that is misleading App-V to believe I still have Office 2013 64-bit somewhere installed? I really need to stream MS Access 32-bit to users. But cannot solve this issue.
Thanks in advance,Hello,
Thanks for replying. Your solution works, BUT I'm immidiatly running into a second problem. The .appv package that is created, cannot be published. The error I get is:
An unexpected error occurred while retrieving AppV package manifest. Windows error code: 1465 - Windows was unable to parse the requested XML data.
I think this has to do with issues in the september releases of Office 2013. I'm gonna try downloading a previous versin using ODT. Changing the configuration.xml file to:

CS5 file is not compatible error
"Cannot complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop"
Hi, I'm sick of my computer problems...
So I'm trying to make an animation, I'm using about 4 or more video layers in order to do so, and I noticed this issue.
I save my file, and then try to reopen it and it gives me this error.
Why? Should this not be fixed? Or how can I fix it? I would really appreciate it because I have a deadline ^_^
I also tested it, I tried remaking the same thing, saved it as a different file name and kept the same one open, I try to open the saved file into photoshop and gives me the same issue.
- I also checked my HDD with checkdisk, no errors, what do you know
- I can also see the image clearly in Adobe Bridge, hello file I can't open.
- I tried to open the file on CS4 32-bit on my other computer, and guess what, it works fine and opened fine without issue. Why?
I'm using WIndows 7
Photoshop CS5 Extended
I work in the 32bit version, but I have both versions installed (32 and 64 bit) I feel more comfortable working in 32 bit, the files will not open in64 bit either.
If there's a way to fix this stupid issue, let me know thank you very much.1) Make sure you installed all the updates for Photoshop CS5. The current version is 12.0.4.
My guess is that you are still on 12.0.0.
2) Check your disk for problems/corruption. -
InDesign CS5.5 fonts not displaying correctly when applying styles
Hi there,
My problem is this - I've set up character and paragraph styles in a document. Yesterday everything in the document was working as expected. Today I open the file and some of the fonts are displaying incorrectly ie instead of a selection of type being bold (where a character style has been applyed) the whole paragraph is now bold and doesn't respond to having the character style removed.
There are no error messages, the program loads, doesn't crash, did go slow but I resaved all the linked files and it moved along at it normal speed - it is quite a complicated document. Other files seem to behave, so I thought it might be a corrupt file. However when I tried to save to IDML the process was interminable, so I cancelled it (tried this several times and with a simplified file - removed all the images).
I've cleaned out the font caches.
I trashed the program preferences.
Hope somebody out there has a idea.
Thanks
imac, OSX 6.8, 12 mgs ram, InDesign CS5.5 with the latest patch updated. Use Suitcasefusion for font management - have the latest version
Message was edited by: ne18ellMost likely reasons for what you are seeing is the paragraph has the bold style assigned to the whole thing as a character style (maybe nested without a valid end trigger?), or the basic character attibutes of the paragraph style were changed to bold. Slightly less likely is that you managed to apply Bold to the whole paragraph as a local override (which owuld show up as a + sign next to the paragraph style name).

Adobe CS5 files will not save and crash on Yosemite
I have a brand new Macbook Pro 15" running the latest version of Yosemite. I have my Adobe CS5 Web Premium system installed and when using Illustrator, I can not save any files--when I go to save and choose where to save the document, the program freezes and the following crash report appears. This happens for any open document, I've tried many different ones. I have uninstalled and re-installed all Adobe programs, made sure they are all up to date versions, I've deleted all my preferences, changed time zones, and have attempted most all other fixes in the forums other than wiping the drive and starting over. Any help would be greatly appreciated--I'm a graphic designer and not being able to use Illustrator is affecting my job!

Issue during install of Photoshop CS5 - files do not completely extract.
"A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder" - trying to install Photoshop CS5 after hard drive crashed. New install of Windows 7 64bit. Downloaded install files and get this message part way through the extraction.
are you installing on a partition less than 1tb in size? if not, partition your hd so you can install on a less than 1tb sized partition.

Textbook CS5 files will not open in CS5.5
I know this has been broached by student. Now an instructor, that's me, wants the same question answered please. How can we alter the Classroom in a Book CS5 Flash Catalyst tutotial files in Flash Builder to open in CS5.5?
I will look into it. My CIB is at home, so it will be later today before I can investigate.
Also you might want to add an additional book to the course:
Quick Guide to Flash Catalyst: A Designer’s Guide to Visual Development By Rafiq Elmansy has been published by O’Reilly Media.
It will cover the changes from 1.0 to 5.5.

Bridge CS5 file associations not correct...
When I try to open an office 2007 document, the default application is set to Thunderbird and when I try to edit it in the Edit>Preverences>File Type Associations, it isn't listed at all. My OS default applicaions for Office 2007 files are all correct, it's just Bridge that I have the problem. Any ideas?
The file properties are correctn and the files open in the oppropriate program when opened via double clicking in Explorer, it's only in Bridge that I have the problem. If I right click the file in Bridge, I have the choice of the correct application and then underneath, Thunderbird (default). So the option is there, it just won't let me make it the default. As seen below...

Pre-Mavericks I had zero problems packaging my INDD files in Adobe InDesign CS6 with all fonts and links intact. Now, when I go to package the same files I successfully packaged last year under Lion, InDesign tells me the fonts can't be packaged (and doesn't package anything else either). My client is becoming very frustrated so I would really appreciate some help from Adobe in solving this problem as soon as possible.
Thank you Willi for responding.
Which fonts are affected? - I'm assuming all of the fonts are affected since no fonts are able to be packaged.
Are all used fonts installed? - Yes
Did you have your fonts in a Document Fonts folder beside your old file and saved your new document on a different place? - Before I upgraded to Mavericks I was able to package everything for this exact same file so I do have fonts in the packaged folder (referring to my 2013 file) so even though the fonts aren't in a Documents folder (they are inside the package "Fonts" folder) so I think the answer to your question is yes.
Does your font folder have the same permession as the folder before? - I believe so because I never changed the permissions for the fonts
Do you use CS6 as part of the Creative Cloud and are you using TypeKit fonts? Or are you using the boxed version? - I am trying to avoid using Creative Cloud since I already have CS6 that I have already paid for. What I am reading on the internet, however, is that Adobe is forcing people to move over to CC when they upgrade to Mavericks due to problems like I am having now. I am not sure if this is true/untrue but I am definitely concerned. I can not afford right now to start paying a monthly fee (especially after I have already paid for CS6). I am using a boxed version of CS6 and I am not using TypeKit fonts. -
How can we call a class file of one package for class file of another
How can we call a class file of one package from class file of another package and both packages exist in a same folder
How can we call a class file of one package from

Luckily they don't so it's really not a problem after all. -
Fonts not compatible with Mac OS X?
I'm trying to open an InDesign file and FontExplorer X Pro is saying the fonts packaged with the file are not OS X compatible. What does that mean?
Or if you're using CS5, you can create a Document Fonts folder at the same location as the InDesign file -- InDesign will auto-activate any fonts located there, and will activate Windows Type 1 fonts in addition to TT, OT and dFonts.

InDesign CS6 (Mac) will not package fonts
I have hundreds of fonts on my machine and have never had any issues with packaging fonts until CS6. CS5.5 works great, even today with the same files that will not package in CS5.5. However, I cannot use 5.5 due to the other 7 designers all using CS6. None of them are having issues - they are also all on PCs with me being the only Mac user.
"Cannot copy necessary fonts" is the error that I get when packaging anything that uses a font other than the default system fonts. Our primary font is Gotham, which we have 12 licenses for. Scala, also licensed, is another problem child. These all package fine in CS5.5.
Machine specs:
Macbook Pro
OSX 10.7.5
2.3 Ghz
16 GB memory
Fontbook is our font manager
I have tried Fontnuke, Font doctor, resetting permissions, deleting InDesign prefs, copying the fonts in question into my Applications font folder, basically any solution that I could find online has been tried with the same error message presented at every package attempt.
Any help would be seriously appreciated. Its embarrassing for the Sr. Art Director to be the only one on the team that cannot package correctly.
Thank youI believe I have this problem, or very similar, in both CC and CS6. It happens on both machines I use, detailed below, when I convert from previous version InDesign files:
Machine #1, Mac Pro:
InDesign CS6 v8.0
Mac OS 10.8.5 (12F45)
3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 24GB RAM.
Machine #2, iMac:
InDesign CC v9.2.1
Mac OS 10.9.2 (13C64)
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM
Example:
1. I open a packaged inDesign file in InDesign CS6, converting it from the previous version (CS5 in this case, according to IDentify.jsx). The fonts are all working.
2. I resave the file as a CS6 file, fonts are all still working as long as I don't reopen the file. (However, if I close the file and reopen it, it will show fonts missing.)
3. I package the file from CS6, no font problems shown in packaging.
NOTE: I do not get a "could not copy fonts" error at all.
4. I open the new CS6 inDesign file inside the package folder. It will say "Fonts Missing: Calibri" or similar, showing some of the fonts missing, not all.
5. I can easily manually copy the fonts from the old package into the new package and fix the issue. The fonts are not damaged, missing, locked, or have any visibly different permissions from the other font files when I get info.
So for me the problem happens particularly with the resaving of files from older versions of InDesign, not necessarily with packaging them. If I open a CS5 file and resave as a CS6 file, then reopen that file, it typically has a few fonts missing. This happens to also effect packaging even though it will show all fonts present in the Package window and give no error message.
Checking the CS5 fonts package, it contains both a AdobeFnt14.lst and a AdobeFnt13.lst. Not sure if this pertains to the problem or not, searching these files reveals that both contain the "Calibri" font that went missing on CS6 conversion.
I have tried resaving and repackaging a CS6 file (not converting from CS5) with the same fonts that went missing in the conversion and they all were copied fine.
Obviously this is devastating if I package and send a folder out only to find out it secretly didn't have all the fonts!
I have tried "fix permissions" and "clear font caches" but this has no effect on the problem. -
Packaging InDesign CC file for CS5 user
We just upgraded to InDesign CC (9.2), but the graphic designer I work with uses CS5. I need to package some files for her but do not know how to do it so that she will be able to access a compatible file. Thanks.
Package it. Close the file and then open the one in the package. File > Save as and change the type to InDesign CS4 or later (IDML).
You should probably send a PDF as well since the chances of a perfect conversion are close to zero. If that file is getting returned to you, you are in for a world of pain trying to work this way.
