Page Flows in an EAR file

What is the trick to get Page Flows (.jpf) files to be put in an .ear file from
within Workshop 8.1 ? When I do "Build EAR" from the menu, the build happens
fine, but when I expand the EAR file, the JPF file is not there ? All the associated
JSP's are there though. Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Jeff

  • Using a control implimentaion file in BEA page flows?

I'm using BEA Weblogic 9.2 and I've created a custom JDBC control to use in my project with page flows.
    My control has 4 files:
1.) myModel.java: contains the class that represents the table.
2.) myControl.java: the interface for the control.
3.) myControlDB.java: public interface that extends jdbcControl and contains the basic operations for the database. No actual methods, just sql commands in the annotations.
4.) myControlImpl.java: Contains the business logic for the control and has the @ControlImplimentation annotation.
However, I'm not sure what purpose the "control implimentation" file servers. I can't use it in the page flows, and I can't add it to the "referenced controls" list.
How do I use this control implementation in my page flows?

    Hi,
Does your custom control appear in the insert -> control -> existing control option ?
Can you also verify that the corresponding method is created in the custom control interface
In the source view, place the cursor on the custom control method, and enter Ctrl + 1, select the create in super type option. This should create the corresponding method in the interface.
I've also listed the link to our documentation which explains in detail about using database controls

  • New OC4J Instance : Deployed EAR File : Page not Found !

    Hi,
I have installed the Oracle Apps Middle Tier on one of my systems.
I created a new OC4J instance named OC4J_Custom and deployed an ear file with a couple of Test Servlets. Now, when I enter the URL for the Middle Tier OC4J :
    http://middletier:7778/my_app/HomeServlet
I only see a " The page cannot be displayed " error !.
I even checked in the mod_oc4j.conf file - the settings seem to be correct :
    Oc4jMount /my_app OC4J_Custom
    Oc4jMount /my_app/* OC4J_Custom
Do I need to do any other settings ?
    Regards,
    Sandeep

Is there a servlet mapped to HomeServlet in the web.xml file so it can be accessed like that?
Can you access any other resources -- ie a .html or .jsp page in that deployed app?
If you are using Internet Exploder, then one thing to try is turn off the "Show Friendly Error Pages" option in the custom settings. By default IE hides the error details, which might give you some more information here.

  • Error Exception in AppMerge flows' progression when deploying ear file

Trying to deploy an EAR file containing EJBs, JMS and JDBC modules to WebLogic 10.3.3 via the Admin Console. Getting the following list of errors, which display in the console:
Error Unable to access the selected application.
Error Exception in AppMerge flows' progression
Error Exception in AppMerge flows' progression
Error '/' expected a valid beginning name character
Error '/' expected a valid beginning name character
i'm unable to find any deployment log files that might tell me what exactly is producing the above-listed errors so they are all I have to go on....
Anyone have any hints or ideas as to what might be going on?

    Hi Brayn,
With *"App Merge Flows Error"* One thing is clear that there is something wrong with the Module Deployment descriptors inside your Application. We need to find that out first which XML file is corrupted. As the Log which u have pasted is not having much details in it...so u can try one thing may be we will get something new...
<b><font color=maroon>Step1).</font></b> Open a Command prompt or Shell Prompt and then (For Windows Based OS) run “setWLSEnv.cmd”
    For Unix Based OS:
run the “setWLSEnv.sh” by adding two DOTs separated by a single space …..before the actual script like following : (use ‘cd’ command to move inside the /wlserver_10.3/server/bin) then run the following command….
    . ./setWLSEnv.sh
Note: The first DOT represents that set the Environment in the current Shell, AND the second ./ represents execute the script from the current directory.
<b><font color=maroon>Step2).</font></b> Verify that the Classpath is Set properly or not: (for WINDOWS: echo %CLASSPATH%)
    echo $CLASSPATH
<b><font color=maroon>Step3).</font></b> In the same command Prompt Move in the directory where u have placed your EAR Application and then run the following WebLogic Utility to generate the New Deployment descriptors...
    java weblogic.DDConverter  -d . YourEarApplication.ear
    <font color=red>
It will read the EAR file and outside of the EAR application it will generate the fresh XML files.
NOTE: the actual use of weblogic.DDConverter tool is not intended to debug the XML content issues....it is actually used to generate the Old Deployment descriptors to the current WebLogic Version Deployment Descriptors......But I have many times used it to see if there is any issue with the XML descriptors...Because sometimes While converting the Deployment descriptors it throws the Error ... Pointing to the incorrect XML file....So may be it will be useful for u as well..to identify which XML file is corrupted.
    </font>
If you find any XML which is wrong please post that XML file sothat we can see what's the issue with that.
    Thanks

  • How to moidfy ant file to compile page flow files only

    Hello,
Our existing application is compiled with standard ANT task and running on weblogic server. Now I try to change the jsp part using page flow and weblogic workshop.
I think I still need to create an application and a project that contains the page flow files. How can I modify the the ANT file and compile the page flow files only, then these files can be packed with other files into a WAR file?
Thank you for the help in advance.

  • How do I redirect request to an external page flow?

    Hi,
I´m really stucked here. I need to redirect and XML wich I get in page flow to an external page flow(in a different project(war) but in the same workshop application(ear)), I´ve tryied all kinds off things but it does not work correctly.
I even tryied what is written in workshop docs:
If the path begins with a protocol such as "http:" the page flow runtime will look outside of this web application for the resource, and it will automatically cause a redirect (rather than a server forward) to the resource. If the path begins with a forward slash, "/", the runtime will start at the web application's root directory to locate the resource. If the path omits the forward slash, "/", the reference is relative to the page flow's directory.
    so I did:
    @jpf:forward name="goToKnapp" path="http://localhost:7001/eaiKnapp/PageFlowName.jpf"
    and inside the method:
    return new Forward("goToKnapp");
    and it does´t work.
    Any help will be wellcome.

Go to iPhoto and hit File and go to EXPORT. From there you can export your entire iPhoto Library to your external drive in any folder you want. Now if you've named the pictures in iPhoto and you select the check box for NAME and Keywords in the EXPORT menu the photos will be exported with the names given in iPhoto and any keywords you have added to the photo such as a description.. Hope this helps not sure if this is what your looking for.

  • ADF Page Flow Action - Page Refresh

    Hello,
    BACKGROUND
I'm working on a POC development environment using Oracle technologies. I'm using a Windows XP SP3 machine with JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and WebLogic 10.3. What I have currently setup is:
    - Work in Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 to edit code sources etc
    - Build project and EAR using Ant
    - Deploy EAR to WebLogic 10.3 using WLST
The JDeveloper project was created as a WebCenter Portal Application however I don't use any of the portal features nor are there any included in the project (we might use this in the future). It's a basic vanilla ADF application at the moment with a few JSPs, a placeholder data control and 1 bounded and unbounded task flows.
    PROBLEM
The package builds and deploys fine and I can view a landing page ok. The problem is when I try and click a button or link that goes to another page in the Page Flow the page just seems to refresh. I can see that a request is hitting the server but it would seem the framework isn't invoking the action.
    EXTRA INFO / DEBUG
The weird thing is, if I right click a page in JDeveloper and run it in the integrated weblogic the application works fine. I thought it might be my build process so I tried right clicking and exporting an EAR file from JDeveloper and deploying that into my WebLogic but that one fails with the same refresh problem as my Ant generated one.
I have done a file and directory comparison of the EAR and it all is the same. This lead me to believe it might be my WebLogic server/domain, so I deployed my Ant generated EAR manually into the integrated JDeveloper weblogic in which the auto deploy application is working. This however still fails with the refresh problem. It must be something to do with my EAR but I can't for the life of me figure it out as it all looks the same!
I do get a few warnings when deploying, hopefully these can help:
####<11/10/2011 11:00:19 AM EST> <Warning> <J2EE> <OVLD630422KV1S> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '9' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <3fe29258d1efb468:5549c41:132efedbfd7:-8000-0000000000000100> <1318291219078> <BEA-160140> <Unresolved optional package references (in META-INF/MANIFEST.MF): [Extension-Name: oracle.apps.common.resource, referenced from: C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\oracle.webcenter.framework\l81aqz]. Oh! I see now yes that seems to have fixed it. It seems that if you create a page as .jsp and .jspx they are slightly different too.
.jspx has this around the content of the page
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
    </jsp:root>
The .jsp does not. So when you hit the .jsp page (e.g. test.jsp) in the browser without the extension (e.g. url:port/myapp/faces/test) you get a 404 not found.
Hitting one that was created as a .jspx page with the extra XML stuff in the file works ok when you drop the extension.
So just for clarification, should you use .jspx for 'pages' and .jsp for fragments of a page?

    Hi-
That may be on the right track, but the /index.jsp page gets displayed in the
portlet...I am still within the portal framework, so I don't think I am loosing
    the context...

you are most likely redirecting to the /error.jsp page and losing the
    context for
your portal app. The index.jsp page may be defined as your <welcome-file>
    in your
web.xml file. The best thing to do is to save the context before visiting
    error.jsp
and then provide a link in error.jsp to go back. Look at javadoc for
    PageURL for
obtaining the URL to a portal page, you can then save it in session of
    pass it
    to your error page.

    Hello-
I have a page flow portlet that I am testing some exception handling
    on. Right
now when I catch an exception, I display the global /error.jsp page,
    using the
@jpf:catch tag. The problem is when I refresh the page after viewing
    the error
page, the pageflow always pulls up the /index.jsp page at the root of
    the webapp.
I have to get a new session to see the original page flow.
This only happens when I am running the Jpf as a portlet...I don't see
    this behavior
    with it stand-alone.
I am not sure why the index.jsp page is being called...there are noreferences
to it in my jpf code...
    thanks,

Figured it out, found similar post that stated changing the HEAP size
Increase the page size in odiparams.bat in the bin folder and restart Designer.

    set ODI_INIT_HEAP=128m
    set ODI_MAX_HEAP=1024m

  • Workshop CRASHED while editing a page flow

    Workshop Gurus -
Any clues on this bug. I get this error while editing pageflow. It just started
    happening this morning.
I must say, WLW crashes gracefully. It allows me to report this message directly
to BEA, and then allows me to save my files. However, I do need a resolution to
    this problem, hopefully soon.

    Raj -
Yes I am using SP2. I have had Workshop crash SEVERAL times when working with
page flows. Some sort of null pointer exception. The only good thing is that workshop
crashes gracefully, so I didn't lose any work that I was doing.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Based on the following error:
    '07/03/09 10:16:13 EPROC_NEW_RND: JspServlet: unable to dispatch to requested page: Exception:java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\OraHome_1\j2ee\EPROC_NEW\applications\EPROC_NEW\EPROC_NEW_RND\reqError.jsp
(The system cannot find the file specified) '
I would say that the reqError.jsp is not presented/packaged in your WAR, could you check?
