Page Hierarchy

Hi All,
I have a role called LCRole. To this role i have a workset assigned called PRWkset. I have a landing page assigned to this workset called PRLandingPage1.0.
There is a breadcrumb app which displays the exact navigation. So now the breadcrumb should look like follows initially, when the user logs in:
LCRole > PRWkset > PRLandingPage1.0
I also have other pages like Page1.1, Page1.2 and Page1.3 which are on the same level as the landing page. I have subpages like Page1.2.1 and Page1.2.3 as well.
Now the navigation should start with the landing page using ONLY EPCM.doNavigate() in the iViews.
On clicking one of the iViews in the Landing Page, it should navigate to Page1.2. The breadcrumb should look like this
LCRole > PRWkset > Page1.2
On clicking one of the iViews in Page1.2, it should navigate to its subpage viz. Page1.2.1. The breadcrumb should now display:
LCRole > PRWkset > Page1.2 > Page1.2.1
I need help as to how to create the hierarchy starting from the Role. If i add the subpage Page1.2.1 to Page1.1, the subpage appears inside its parent page.
Is there a way where a hierarchy can be created so that the breadcrumb navigation shows the correct navigation history.?
Regards,
Melwyn.

Hi,
you could model this hierarchy as tree of folders and in each one of them one (or several) pages/iviews. For each page/iview there is the property "Default Entry for Folder" and "Sort Priority" which you could use to achieve desired ordering and default behavior.
Hope that helps.

  • Website page hierarchy: how to?

    I try to use a breadcrumb navigational script, such as http://www.webmonkey.com/tutorial/Build_Dynamic_Breadcrumbs_With_JavaScript_ .
    The script works, but wherever I go in my site http://mysafety.be, only the homepage shows up. It looks as if all my pages are simply attached to my homepage. But I have a dropdown menu that does show the structure of my site...  only, my pages do not seem to be seen by the script as such.
    Question: how do I get my webpages structured in a tree structure with proper page hierarchy?

    Well, I did the renaming within Dreamweaver and the files and template page were automatically updated.
    But then I moved all the files outside of dreamweaver, in windows explorer instead of within dreamweaver...  never again!! I had about 6000 broken links, and spent the best of 4 hours to rectify them. I did not know I had to move within Dreamweaver, now I do.
    I do have backups of my site; but luckily I did not need it, after uploading my 5 hours worth of relinking, it almost all worked; spent another hour fixing the rest and now it is ok.
    But I still have a question about the breadcrumbs, I reworded it in a different post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/436243?tstart=0

  • Recieved 404 error after removing "home" from page hierarchy

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 and I beleive it is WebCenter SP5.
    I am encountering a 404 page when I run an application after I try removing the entry for "home" from the page hierarchy. I also receive the error even if I undo the change in the pages.xml and restore home. I get this in brand new projects as well by following these steps:
    -Create a new WebCenter Portal Framework application
    -Open up pages.xml
    -Delete the "home" entry
    -Save
    -Ctrl+z to undo the deletion of the entry
    -Save
    -Run
    -Recieve 404 after index.html attempts to have the redirect to its default "./faces/wcnav_defaultSelection"
    I am assuming some other files are being modified but I cannot figure out what is going on. I also cannot find any information on how the application determines where to go with the "wcnav_defaultSelection" redirect. Is anyone able to assist with this?

    Hi,
    May I suggest that you enable TRACE logging for oracle.webcenter.portalframework.sitestructure and see what the logs say?
    Also, adding the home page back to page hierarchy (via drag-drop) does not throw the error. It's only when you perform an Undo that the error occurs.
    On further analysis, on "Undo" the home page definition does not get back some of the attributes - the page_parent parameter and the permissions section.

  • Internationalize Page titles added through page hierarchy

    Hi All,
    JDev + Webcenter : 11.1.1.5
    Is there a way to Internationalize Page titles added through page hierarchy in web center portal ? Title property of page hierarchy does not seems to recognize bundle files.
    Thanks
    Amit

    currently there is no provision to set page titles in page heirearchy.
    Same topic has been discussed earlier on -Re: Multi language portal
    You can very well set the page titles in navigation model and in page level also through af:document tag.

  • Translating an existing page hierarchy

    I have a hierarchy of pages and items, all in the default language (english).
    Now I need to make a Swedish translation of the pages.
    Are the manual steps documented anywhere?
    Can it be done in any automated way?
    I've experimented a bit and think this is the (manual) way:
    1 Enable Swedish in the page group
    2 Switch current language to Swedish
    3a Edit the page properties to have a swedish translation created
    3b Edit the items to have Swedish translations created
    The Navigator behaves a bit strange here. If I have a parent and a child page in english, the navigator shows the link "sub-pages" when I'm at the parent level.
    If I edit the page propertis to make a Swedish translation, the link to the child page is not shown.
    So one must start with the child pages (leafs) and work upwards.
    Kind regards

    I agree with your concerns about the forum. You can use the Community Feedback (No Product Questions) to share these concerns with OTN management (you'll see that a number of other members have already done so).
    Regarding the navigator - that might have been a problem in 9.0.2, but is fixed in 9.0.2.6. I seldom use the Navigator to navigate to pages, preferring the Subpage display.
    In 9.0.2.6, the Subpage Item has been replaced by a Subpage region. We've also fixed related problems with the Subpage display not working correctly when placed on a navigation page or template.
    Also, the content repository APIs were not supported in 9.0.2 - you'll need 9.0.2.6 or later to use them. Currently, there is no supported API for modifying pages - this is planned for a future release.
    As I said before on this forum, I strongly encourage you to upgrade to 9.0.2.6 (or the soon to be released 10g (9.0.4) release). Upgrade information is available at http://portalcenter.oracle.com/upgrades.

  • Using a Menu Model to Create a Page Hierarchy

    Hello I starded to follow steps for creating a dynamic menu with Meu Model , as displayed on par 18.6 of "Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework ".
    My menu_root.xml is :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <menu xmlns="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/menu">
    <itemNode id="itemNode_home" label=*"Home"* action="adfMenu_home" focusViewId="/home"/>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_search" label=*"Search"* action="adfMenu_search" focusViewId="/search"/>
    <groupNode id="gn1" idref="itemNode_adminCostCenter" label=*"Administration"*>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_adminCostCenter" label="label_adminCostCenter" action="adfMenu_adminCostCenter"
    focusViewId="/adminCostCenter"/>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_adminCostType" label="label_adminCostType" action="adfMenu_adminCostType"
    focusViewId="/adminCostType"/>
    </groupNode>
    <groupNode id="gn2" idref="itemNode_viewTransaction" label=*"Transactions"*>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_createTransaction" label="label_createTransaction" action="adfMenu_createTransaction"
    focusViewId="/createTransaction"/>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_viewTransaction" label="label_viewTransaction" action="adfMenu_viewTransaction"
    focusViewId="/viewTransaction"/>
    </groupNode>
    </menu>
    and I have bound this menu as follow on page ( it is a page for template):
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pt_pgl1" layout="vertical">
    <af:outputText value="#{viewcontrollerBundle.HB_TITLE}" id="pt_ot1" inlineStyle="color:rgb(49,115,255); font-size:x-large;"/>
    <af:navigationPane id="pt_np1" hint="bar" value="#{root_menu}" var="menuNode" level="0">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandNavigationItem id="pt_cni1" text="#{menuNode.label}" action="#{menuNode.doAction}" icon="#{menuNode.icon}" destination="#{menuNode.destination}"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:navigationPane>
    <af:navigationPane id="pt_np2" hint="list" value="#{root_menu}" var="menuNode" level="1">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandNavigationItem id="pt_cni2" text="#{menuNode.label}" action="#{menuNode.doAction}" icon="#{menuNode.icon}" destination="#{menuNode.destination}"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:navigationPane>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>
    THEN my question is , why ,running , I see only the first level (Home | Search | Administration | Transactions ) ; the last two voices should not have a list of child (e.g. label_adminCostCenter and label_adminCostType for Administration parent ) ?
    thanks

  • Create a Navigation Pane for a Page Hierarchy

    Hi,
    I am writing a Oracle ADF fusion web application using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0. I want to create
    a navigation pane. For that I hope to use a declarative component. Please give me a tip to create a tree model as follows
    URL : http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/pagehierarchy/index.jspx?_afrRedirect=3006461401899918
    and how to put it in a jsf which looks as following page's box
    URL : http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/pagehierarchy/page.jspx?_afrRedirect=3007271059448986
    Thanks
    Sameera

    Hi,
    within one post, you covered three topics. If you are new to ADF what about starting with a tutorial. The way you ask your questions will give you answers based on a POJO components model and not ADF. Many of the implementation details however are not required using ADF. So is it really that you only want to use the ADF Faces components ? If so then the demo sources you pint us to can be downloaded from here

  • I have hierarchy data in R/3 side how will i load that data from R/3 to BW

    Hi all,
    i have my hierarchy data in the R/3 side how will i load that data from  R/3 to BW side
    Regard
    Kiran Kumar

    Hi Kiran,
    Here is the procedure:
    1.      In the Data Warehousing Workbench under Modeling, select the InfoSource tree.
    2.      Select the InfoSource (with direct update) for the InfoObject, to which you want to load the hierarchy.
    3.      Choose Additional Functions® Create Transfer Rules from the context menu of the hierarchy table object for the InfoObject. The Assign Source System dialog box appears.
    4.      Select the source system from which the hierarchy is to be loaded. The InfoSource maintenance screen appears.
    ○       If the DataSource only supports the transfer method IDoc, then only the transfer structure is displayed (tab page DataSource/Transfer Structure).
    ○       If the DataSource also supports transfer method PSA, you can maintain the transfer rules (tab page Transfer Rules).
    If it is possible and useful, we recommend that you use the transfer method PSA and set the indicator Expand Leaf Values and Node InfoObjects. You can then also load hierarchies with characteristics whose node name has a length >32.
    5.      Save your entries and go back. The InfoSource tree for the Data Warehousing Workbench is displayed.
    6.      Choose Create InfoPackage from the context menu (see Maintaining InfoPackages). The Create InfoPackage dialog box appears.
    7.      Enter the description for the InfoPackage. Select the DataSource (data element Hierarchies) that you require and confirm your entries.
    8.      On the Tab Page: Hierarchy Selection, select the hierarchy that you want to load into your BI system.
    Specify if the hierarchy should be automatically activated after loading or be marked for activation.
    Select an update method (Full Update, Insert Subtree, Update Subtree).
    If you want to load a hierarchy from an external system with BAPI functionality, make BAPI-specific restrictions, if necessary.
    9.      If you want to load a hierarchy from a flat file, maintain the tab page: external data.
    10.      Maintain the tab page: processing.
    11.      Maintain the tab page: updating.
    12.      To schedule the InfoPackage, you have the following options:
    ○       (Manually) in the scheduler, see Scheduling InfoPackages
    ○       (Automatically) using a process chain (see Loading Hierarchies Using a Process Chain)
    When you upload hierarchies, the system carries out a consistency check, making sure that the hierarchy structure is correct. Error messages are logged in the Monitor. You can get technical details about the error and how to correct it in the long text for the respective message.

  • OAF Tutorial Extension - To add Site Name in Purchase Order Summary Page

    I have gone through all steps for adding Supplier Site Name for Purchase Order Summary Page. It works but seems it shows SiteID instead of Site Name.
    The main instructions says
    Step 2.3 Create Your New View Object (VO)
    Make a copy the PoSummaryVO query statement before you begin creating your new VO. Expand the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package in the Navigator pane and edit PoSummaryVO. In the View Object Editor, select Query to display the query statement for this VO. Make a copy of the query statement.
    Create a new VO, named <YourName>PoSummaryVO, that extends oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server.PoSummaryVO.
    Create the VO in the <yourname>.oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package.
    Add the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.schema.server.SupplierSiteEO entity object. Leave the Read Only and Reference checkboxes checked. We are going to use this entity object only for read-only purposes.
    Add the SupplierSiteId and SiteName attributes from the SupplierSiteEO entity object.
    Paste the query statement that you copied from PoSummaryVO into the query statement field for <YourName>PoSummaryVO. Now append the following SQL phrases to the copy of the PoSummaryVO query statement to compose the query statement for the <YourName>PoSummaryVO.
    SELECT ...,
    SupplierSiteEO.SUPPLIER_SITE_ID,
    SupplierSiteEO.SITE_NAME
    FROM ...,
    FWK_TBX_SUPPLIER_SITES SupplierSiteEO
    WHERE ...
    AND SupplierEO.SUPPLIER_ID = SupplierSiteEO.SUPPLIER_ID
    Step 2.8 Personalize the UI to Display Your New Attribute
    Rebuild the ExtendLab project and make sure you have no errors.
    Run the <Yourname>PoSummaryCreatePG.xml page with personalization turned on (see Personalizing Your Pages and Portlets for more information on how this is done).
    Select the Personalize Page global link.
    In the Choose Personalization Context page, select Page: <Yourname> Framework Toolbox Tutorial: Multistep Create from the Scope poplist and select the Apply button.
    In the Personalize Page page, check the Complete View radio button for the Personalization Structure. Expand the Stack Layout: Purchase Order Summary Region node, locate the Table: Purchase Orders Table entry in the page hierarchy and select the Create Item icon.
    In the Create Item page:
    Set the Item Style to Message Styled Text.
    Set the ID to SiteName.
    Set the Prompt to Supplier Site
    Set the View Attribute to SiteName
    Set the View Instance to PoSummaryVO1
    Select the Apply button
    In the Personalize Page Hierarchy page, locate the Table: Purchase Orders Table entry again and select the Reorder icon.
    In the Reorder Contents of Table page's Site list, move the Supplier Site item to be sequenced immediately after the Supplier item.
    Select the Apply button.
    In the Personalize Page Hierarchy page, select the Return to Application link. Now you should see the Supplier Site column added to the Orders Table as shown in Figure 1 (you should see your name in the page title).
    Note: We set the View Instance to PoSummaryVO1 and not <YourName>PoSummaryVO1. The BC4J substitution will take care of properly creating an instance of <YourName>PoSummaryVO1 at runtime in place of the PoSummaryVO1.
    It does not show site name, it shows site id after havig done personalization.
    Any idea why it would show site id and not site name.
    KD

    What I found is there are 2 variables SiteName and SiteName1, if you use SiteName1 then it shows proper value as a site description. I replaced SiteName with SiteName1 and it works. This might help to all who are like me and trying Tutorial example.
    I am not sure how many may have tried OAF - Tutorial examples. They are really complicated and not easy and in most cases they are not coming out in first try but if you really try then it will give lot of understanding.

  • Application Builder: What is the significance/function of "page sequence"?

    Because we are always pressed for time, I have developed the nasty habit of glossing over things that may be opaque to me, with the mental reservation that I will re-visit the issue "when things calm down".
    One of those opaque things is the function, significance, or use of "sequence" in the context of APEX Application Builder and application pages.
    I am working through the Oracle-By-Example application labeled OBE_PROJECTS. I have created the Master-Detail form, but it has not come out as expected. According to the instructions, when I created the page, I designated the home page as its parent. Yet, when I run the application, the icon for the master-detail form does not appear.
    I assume that I've fat fingered something when I built the page and attempt to correct it. I think that the answer will lie in the task "Reparenting page hierarchy". When I look at the "Create/Edit Breadcrumb Entry page", I see in the "Entry" region, that the Parent Entry is, indeed, correct ... that is "Home (Page 1)". On the other hand, the text box labeled "Sequence" is set to "10". And this is the same value as the Home Page itself. Can that be correct? Shouldn't my Master-Detail page have a sequence number subordinate to the Home Page?
    Any help/elucidation will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Gus

    Varad,
    I hadn't gotten that far yet. I'm still following OBE script and accessing the page from the "Run Page" icon in application builder.
    The issue itself, pages not showing up, is solved for me. I had anticipated that simply declaring the parent of Master-Detail page to be home page would automagically make those objects appear on the home page.
    Slogging through the Oracle By Example, I learn that one must actually edit the home page to have them appear (how barbaric!)
    But, the question of exactly what "page sequence" means and how it's supposed to be used is still there.
    Thanks for the Response,
    Gus

  • How do you enable 'Create Content' button on 'Add Content' page?

    How do you enable ‘Create Content’ button on ‘Add Content’ page?
    There is new functionality to a ‘Layout’ type personalization page like ‘Sales Dashboard’.
    Bug 4503123 INCONSISTENT WAY OF ADDING USER-DEFINED REGIONS ON WYSIWYG PAGE:
    There’s no way to add custom content to a configurable page.
    Add a “Create Content” button and let the user create a piece of content that extends to a region he creates.
    It says: Fixed->11.5.10.3CU
    In Oracle® Application Framework Personalization Guide Release 11i Part No. B25439-02 it says:
    p 4-5
    If you personalize a non-configurable page (a page that does not have the necessary metadata to personalize its layout) or when you run your application in Accessibility mode (profile option Self Service Accessibility Features (ICX_ACCESSIBILITY_FEATURES) is set to Standard Accessibility), you will not see the Page Layout Personalization page, as shown below. Instead, you will see the Page Hierarchy Personalization page, page 4-12, where you can perform the same personalization functions, using a descriptive tabular user interface.
    It tried this and can’t get it to display.
    Has anyone run accross this before?

    user587952,
    Can you describe your issue in detail forgetting those references for the time being. What exactly are you trying to do?
    Check this from the dev guide:
    In order to be able to take full advantage of page layout personalization capabilities, it is important when you create your configurable page, to use flexibleLayout and flexibleContent regions at all levels when you create the page hierarchy structure under your page layout region. In Oracle Applications, this is required, as it is the coding standard.

  • Sub-pages in a tab-region

    I'm working on Oracle 9iAS release 2. And I have to set up a company portal.
    The first page (the root page) should show/contain a banner, a region with 4 tabs and a footer. My problem is that in one tab I want to create something like a content area. I have three or more topics and for each topic there should be a possibility to add items (like a document management system).
    Well as far as I know the only possibility how I can manage this is through pages and subpages. However if I display a subpage in the tab-region and this subpage itself contains other subpages (like in a hierarchy) and I click on one link to a subpage, the subpage opens in a whole new window. But I want to open the subpage only in the tab-region... (like html and frames)
    Is there a possibility to manage this??
    Thanks

    Have you tried using a page portlet? I don't know what you asked support (if you provide the TAR number I can look it up), but a page portlet allows you to navigate through a series of subpages while remaining in the context of the containing page. The presentation of the page hierarchy will remain within the tab containing the portlet.
    One caveat: if the pages viewed through the portlet use a template, they must all use the same template.

  • How can I implement breadcrumb hierarchy to individual news / FAQ items?

    When I add a news or FAQ module to a page the breadcrumbs shows the full page hierarchy Home > News.   (Which I can control in the sitemap).
    However, when a user clicks on an individual news item (or FAQ) the breadcrumbs just displays the news (or FAQ) item subject line (with no page hierachy).
    As the news item list and detailed view share the page template, I can't dedicate a template to the detailed news view and then manually add the hierachy.
    Any work arounds?

    CRM, including blogs, is currently supported on Muse, but they are working on it. Meanwhile, you can try to integrate a blog into Muse. See more information:

  • Unique name of page

    i have a top level tab/ link. and then sub tabs/ pages. across any of these , the page name should be unique?
    how to assign same display name to different pages in different tabs.

    Hey,
    If i understood correctly your problem, you can change the Label to whatever you want/need in your xml where you have defined your pages and your pages hierarchy.
    Although the id will be unique and they will point to different pages, you can choose to have the same label..
    If that is what you're asking, take a look at your xml file, mine is root_menu.xml (my choice)
    Hope that helps,
    Frederico.
