Pages in frameset -script to open windows

I have a site built in frames. When you link directly to a
page not in my index frameset the page shows but of course the
frames that should be there don't show because I don't know the way
around. I tried an open window java script thing I got off the net
but it seemed as if I needed to set a size somewhere or I did it
wrong because it only brought up the frame and not the page also.
Also, I have left and top navigation frames which I don't know how
to script in. Not sure how to do this. Hope you all know what I'm
getting at here. Also, I have a tutorial marked on making a dynamic
frameset, I will study as time allows. Thanks.

The problems with frames is that they can cause many other
problems.
Samples include, as mentioned, the fact that your SSL page
won't show as
secure in some browsers, bookmarking pages can become
impossible, it can
make it difficult for search engines to navigate, it makes it
harder for
search engines to link into your site, and it can cause
accessibility
issues.
On top of that, it can become a real pain to maintain.
Wanting a 'static' menu is a common reason to use frames, but
rarely is that
type of functionality really needed at all. People can scroll
web pages
fairly easily.
You can create a static menu sans frames if you want to use
some CSS and
javascript, though I tend to find those as annoying as frames
a lot of the
time.
Another solution is to put your content into a scrollable
div. Many people
do that. However, I'm not a fan of trapping the important
part of your site
(the content) into a small box.
Ultimately, the best optio is usually to just let the page
flow as is.
Also, and I've think I've said this before, your actual
artwork is stunning.

design with
distracting backgrounds and flashing GIFs and drop shadows
and the like.
Think SIMPLE. Let your product shine through. Let people
focus on that.

Opening ADF page from java script

I am trying to use window.open(url, winName) to open an ADF page from java script.
I have set the same winName but when i call the window.open method every time it opens up a new window.
The code is as below:

when I click the button first time, it opens a new window, and keeps opening a new windows on clicking the button again.
I want it to use the same window that was opened first time.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a script to open an attachment within a PDF in a separate window?

I have a PDF with a button to open an attachment. I know that in my preferences I can set it always open in a separate window, but not all users know to do this. Is there a script to make this happen? I have a script to open links in a separate window, but not an attachment.

This can't be done with a script, but you can do it manually by going to
the link you created, editing the "Go to a page in another document" action
in it and then setting the "Open in" option to "New Window".
This can also be done with a stand-alone tool, but that is more
complicated, of course.

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

Your previous tabs will not re-open or be available to re-open when starting Firefox if:

SharePoint PowerShell script to open Excel.Application on Windows server 2008 R2

I am building a PowerShell script to open an Excel file store on SharePoint document library. Sound simple enough but I just couldn't get over an error and hopefully someone can help give an answer here.
I have found many sample codes to use. All of the sample codes show that a new object must be created for Excel application
like ($Excel = New-Object -comobject Excel.Application) before that excel file can be read.
When I run this comand on a SharePoint server (Windows 2008 R2) either inside the script or by itself I keep getting the following error:
New-Object : Cannot load COM type Excel.Application.
+ $excel = New-Object <<<< -Com Excel.Application
+ CategoryInfo : InvalidType: (:) [New-Object], PSArgumentException
For the test, I ran this comand on a Windows 7 with MS Office applications installed, then it ran fine.
Is that because I don't have Office application (Excel) installed on the server to run this or some services need to be turned on?
From the sample codes, look like I should be able to run it on the Server with SharePoint installed.

You need Office/Excel installed on the server because you're accessing those .DLLs for the automation functionality, but depending on what you're trying to do you may be able to use one of the office viewers:

budget reasons, I believe there are several 3rd party providers who can produce a com object that will handle Excel formats.

It is possible to have more than one main window in a same page.
You create a main window and simply you copy and past it in the same page.. it will create first main window name as MAIN and other main windows as MAIN01,MAIN02.... up to MAIN99.
Contets flow from MAIN , MAIN01, MAIN02.......................MAIN99. contents after filling the current window it flows to next window(by default, you skip as well with some keyword not sure could be NEW-WINDOW)
you want print the main window data twice? or you want to create two main window in the same page ?
1. give two copies in the no of copies in the output type screen ( Which pop up is coming after excute the program ).
2. create two page with the same script form.
3. you can write the coding inside the program to print twice the same page.

Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.
In the meantime, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that I think provides that option. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

Repeat a script until no open window

I've tried dabbling with Applescript and Automator and usually end frustrated. I was hoping someone could help a tech savvy but not programming savvy guy.
What I'm looking for is a way to repeat the script.
I'm extracting text out of several windows in safari. (I'm combining text from 40-50 students' work that have been submitted on Moodle, a web based class environment.) I basically manually open the windows in tabs and then I made the following script...

The delay is there because I was getting some paste errors without it. I know I can make it repeat a set number of times with "repeat 10 times" I was hoping I could make it repeat until there weren't any more open windows in safari. Any ideas?

I actually used the *repeat with k from 1 to N* and that worked perfectly. I was going to ask what the k was for and then saw the in the discussion that you didn't use the k.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.<br />
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

Script to open the Open Dialog Window

Hello everyone!
I'm new to scripting and this is probably an easy question but I'm trying to write a script that opens the Open Dialog Window. Basically I need to start the script in one active document, have the script open the Open Dialog (to let the user select another image) and then finish the script in the newly opened document. Every script I find is to open a specific file, but I need it to be User Selected through the Open Dialog of Photoshop.
I hope that makes sense! LOL. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is this also possible to simply open the "Find and Replace" dialog in Illustrator & then close it?
No need to do anything with "Find and Replace" just want to open it then have it close to avoid an Illustrator bug.
