Parameter form button position

Hi
Is it possible to change the position of the "Submit Query" & "Reset" buttons on the parameter form? I would like them to be at the bottom instead of at the top of the page.
TIA
Simon

Hello,
Yes, it is possible.
Open the Report property inspector
(In the "Object Navigator", under the node "Reports", right click on your reports and select "Property Inspector"
Edit the "Before Form Value"
Remove the lines:
<tr>
<td><input type=submit></td>
<td width=15>
<td><input type=reset></td>
</tr>
Edit the "After Form Value"
Add the line:
<input type=submit><input type=reset>

  • REP-50134 occurs when using the submit button on the Reports Parameter Form

    Good Morning,
    I get the "REP-50134: Cache subitem reports does not exist" error after clicking on the Submit Button from a Reports parameter form.
    I am using Forms/Reprots 9i.
    Using the source code given in the Whitepaper 'Oracle Forms Services - Using Run_Report_Object() to call Reports with a parameter form', all works well when paramform=no, but when I have a Form print a report with paramform=yes, the parameter form appears correctly, but generates the error after clicking the Submit Button.
    Any inputs as to causation or possible places to look to solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello and thanks.
    The value in the tag is <form method=post action="reports?">
    Looking at this I suspect my problem is related to this setting. I am trying to follow all the instructions in the White Papers but they are a little confusing as they are not all exactly the same. Each attempts to explain a specific functionality without regards to the whole.
    For instance I believe I need to have the variables P_ACTION, P_USER_CONNECT and P_SERVER_NAME in the report being called and then add a Before Parameter Form trigger to reset the values. But this seems to duplicate and override what has already been sent via the REPORT_OTHERS property. It is a tad bit confusing.
    Can you confirm?
    Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

  • Submit query button on parameter form

    Hello.
    I have a problem with runing reports with parameter form.
    When i start report from form, parameter form is opened. When i check on AS, which report is running i see reportName.rdf.
    When i then press submit query button, report appears. But when i check it again on AS, i see reportName1.rdf (from another directory)is running.
    Why is that? How can i solve that? Why does submit query button on parameter form run another report (from another directory), then report i start from form?
    I can run two report from form (list item), but i have this problem only on one report.
    Thanks.

    Sorry. I just found the problem - in BEFOREPFORM trigger.

  • Submit query  button  parameter form issue

    hi
    im facing problem submit query button . im working in as 10g r2. Every thing is working fine but when i click on submit query button of parameter form. it gives error and and page cant find. its reason that it takes localhost name in url and localhost(asserver.dht.com) is not recognized on internet. To resolve this issue i designed my own parameter form in html and in post method i use my domain name( www.ddgi.com) which is registered on internet. please give me solution so that i can use default parameter form. where from it picks machine name so that i can change it accoding to my domain name.
    My localhost name is asserver.dht.com
    my registered domain on internet is www.ddgi.com

    To help you see what is happening, temporarily add DESNAME to your parameter screen. Make sure that DESNAME on the parameter screen has a value before you click the Submit Query button.
    If you are running the report with a local report service (running on your workstation), the value of desname should be the name of your default printer.
    If you are running the report on a network application server based report service you need to specify the name of a printer that is accessible to the server on which the report service is running. Make sure that it is specified in a way that the server can recognize it, e.g. \\printserver_01\HPLaserJ4210.
    Maybe this will help some.

  • Web Reports --- How submit button on the parameter form works ?

    Hi all,
    I understand that when we deploy the rdf and run the report through web it opens up with 'Submit query' and 'Reset' buttons. And this is from the html code that we see in BEFORE FORM VALUE (Report Escapes).
    <html>
    <body dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff">
    <form method=post action="_action_">
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="_hidden_">
    <font color=red><!--error--></font>
    <center>
    <p><table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0>
    <tr>
    <td><input type=submit></td>
    <td width=15>
    <td><input type=reset></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <p><hr><p>
    I'm just wondering how form action "_action_" is being taken care of when we click on 'Submit Query' button. Which file will it look for to get these values (action and hidden params ) ?
    I would like to add a new button 'Schedule' on this parameter form which behaves exactly as it does with 'Submit' but I would like to add 'schedule' command in the URL. I could create a 'Schedule' button but was not able to build the functionality on what happens if someone clicks on it.
    For this I need to understand how "Submit Query" works.
    Please give me some inputs on this,
    Thank you
    ML.

    These values are not stored in any file. Reports server will replace action and hidden with the actual values while generating parameter form. You can see the source of html parameter form generated to understand these.
    For your scheduling requirement one very simple solution would be to create a user parameter with name 'SCHEDULE' and map a field in the pform to the 'SCHEDULE' user parameter.
    You can also use a hidden field by name 'SCHEDULE' and set the value using javascript when button is clicked.

  • Problem with JavaScript in my PDF Form buttons

    I am trying to have my user click on a button in my form on my website and e-mail the form data to me.
    I am using the following JavaScript with my form button:
    this.mailForm(false, "[email protected]", "", "", "Subject", "Message Body");
    Protected mode is off.
    When I use the above statement (whether the 1st parameter is set to true or false), nothing happens – no email gets sent and no mail dialog box appears. If I change from this.mailForm(...) to this.mailDoc(...), I get a mail dialog box but, as expected, it sends the blank form without the filled-in data due to low user privileges.
    How can I send the form data with this.mailForm(...)? (Note that I prefer to use this.mailForm(...) rather than mailto:(...) because this.mailForm(...) supposedly allows me to e-mail the form without user interaction.)

    Thanks for responding.  I have been using “Submit a form” in the Mouse up event.  I had that operation do a mailto: and it worked, but required user interaction on the part of the web page visitor.  I have successfully created an equivalent JavaScript including:
        var url = "mailto:[email protected]?subject=mySubject&body=MyMessage";
        this.submitForm(url, true);
    The above sent the FDF file successfully, but again, it required user interaction.
    Then I tried this JavaScript - as I mentioned in a previous post - after you said to use doc.submitForm():
        var url = "http://mydomain.com/submit_notice.php";
        doc.submitForm(url, false);
    The above script seemed to do nothing (with no error message). Shouldn't it bring up the PHP file in the web browser?
    I have that php file, submit_notice.php, created, but I have not written any PHP scripts to e-mail the FDF file.  I have never written a PHP script to take the posted FDF data and email it, but I have used the PHP mail() function and posted variables.
    As for what I want to happen on the client side after the submit takes place: I simply want the FDF file to go to an e-mail that I specify.  Additionally, I need it to happen without any client interaction on the part of the web page visitor.  I can expect that visitor to have Adobe reader, but no add-ons or protected mode requirement.
    Please give me an example that emails the FDF file without any user interaction.
    Thank you.

  • Display Report Parameter Form on Web Browser

    I have prepared a report (with a user parameter form )using Report Developer. Then I call the report in a web-based application through the web-browser. the parameter form display normally, except that there are two buttons on the top : submit and return. Also, the layout of the parameter form is not consistent with the style of my application.
    1. Can I customized the layout of the parameter form so that it can have consistent style with my web-based program ? If yes, how?
    2. Can I suppress the buttons shown on the parameter form ?
    (Our Report Server is 9iAS )

    Hi
    Reports built-in parameter form is deliberately fairly simple in capabilities (otherwise, you'd have all the functionality of Forms inside of Reports). However, with JSPs in Reports 9i, you can go farther to create a custom parameter form of your own liking.
    Thanks

  • Report 9i parameter form problem, is it a bug?

    Hi all,
    I am using Dev 9i IDS, rel. 9.0.2, running in windows 2000. I've been converting my forms and reports from previous versions to 9i, and I came across an issue with the report's parameter form.
    First, I thought it could be a problem during the conversion , but to make sure I developed a new form and a new report straight in the 9i IDS suite, using Scott's DEPT table. The new form is simple having a button to call the new report which is based on the DEPT table and accepts an user's input for a dept. no.
    The same problem occurs:
    - in the form, if I set PARAMFORM=HTML then it could not open the report parameter form, hence the report could not run.
    - if I set PARAMFORM=YES, then the report parameter form is displayed, then I can enter a value for the department number. BUT, when I clicked the Submit Query button the report failed, and I received the following error:
    REP-52007: Parameter form format error.

    I have no problem integrating others reports that don't have parameter form using run_report_object. And, I've checked and tried different ways of manipulating the parameter value using to_number in the report's where clause etc., it never worked.
    I guess the only workaround is to create the parameter form in Forms builder. Is there other ways of doing it , or is it a bug of the 9i IDS suites that needs to be fixed?
    - Thanks

    Hi Frank,
    There's a note published on Metalink, note 139546.1, showing a workaround to thi problem. but
    - it is rather lengthy and confusing, may not be practical .
    - it only applies to Forms and Reports 6i.
    However, it shows that the problem comes from 2 items in the source code of the parameter form which is produced by the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in:
    1. <form method=post action=""> where action contains an empty string, it needs to have a valid entry, e.g.
    <form method=post action="http://hostname:port/cgi/rwci60.exe?">
    2. <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value=""> where hidden value is also empty. It should contains all parameter values passed to the report parameter form, e.g.
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="report%3test+destype%3Dcache+userid%Dscott.....">
    And that is what I found, but I am reluctant to try it in 9i IDS, hoping Oracle has a better solution than that.
    Tho.

    Your code seems to be implementing metalink note 139546.1 - Using Reports parameter forms with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT on the web.
    For what I can see, the P_ACTION parameter should end in ?...
    i.e.
    P_ACTION=http://<hostname.domain:port>/reports/rwservlet?'
    set_report_object_property (
    repid,
    report_other,
    'paramform=yes P_USER_CONNECT='
    || vc_connect
    || ' P_SERVERNAME='
    || v_reportserv
    || ' P_ACTION='
    || v_report_url
    || '/reports/rwservlet?'
    );If this does not fix your problem, then to troubleshoot further you would have to post the code in your Before Parameter Form trigger of your report.
    Hope this helps,
    UPDATE:
    If the above does not fix your problem, my guess is that report name is not being generated in the hidden runtime values build by the code in the Before Parameter Form trigger.
    i.e.
    http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?report=&destype=cache&desformat=PDF
    The above code will throw error REP-52005: The specified key report does not exist in key map file.

  • Parameter Form not calling the Main report - Gives REP-0110, REP-1070, REP-0110 error

    I am using run_report_object to call a report in which the user has to input some paramters. I have followed the instructions as in the Oracle White paper document on Forms/Reports integration.
    The paramter report does come up but when I hit the submit button, I get an error
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005'.
    REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005
    I've checked the privileges and everything's fine on that front. Also, I can get to open the report with the web.show document built-in with paramform setting = No.
    I am guessing something's wrong with the html constructed in the parameter form which is,
    <form method=post action="http://myserver/dev60cgi/RWCGI60.EXE?">
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="server=myserver &report=rclug005&destype=Cache&desformat=html&userid=uid/pwd@test">
    In the Report Before Form trigger, I've copied the foll. html code from the Oracle White paper,
    vc_parameter_form :=
    '<html><body bgclor="ffffff"><form method=post action="'||:p_action||'">'||
    '<input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden

    <td><input type=reset></td></tr></table><p><hr></p>';
    I've set the :p_action parameter to a value of http://myserver/dev60cgi/RWCGI60.EXE?
    Also, In the end of the report before form trigger I added this
    srw.set_before_form_html(srw.text_escape, vc_parameter_form);
    Any help/tips is appreciated & Thanks.

    Thanks Danny,
    I am building the variable exactly as in the White paper in the "before form" trigger using exactly the same values give there.
    vc_hidden_runtime_values := 'server='||:p_servername||'&report='||vc_report_name||'.rep&destype='||:destype||'&desformat='||:desformat||'&userid='||:p_userinfo;
    My report has some extra parameters too it expects. So do I have to include the names of those parameters too in the string above?
    For example, in my report a user parameter is named 'print_date', which I do see and populate with value in the parameter form, then do I have to build that in the vc_hidden_runtime_values string above.
    I am using Report 6.0.8.11.3 on 9iAS.

  • How to display  Reports parameter form in Oracle Forms 10g.

    hello,
    am migrating from Forms 6i applications to Forms 10g.
    one of my application contain report, that report display parameter form
    I wrote below code for WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger
    DECLARE
    pl_id      ParamList;
    v_report_id report_object;
    v_report varchar2(100);
    vjob_id varchar2(100);
    vc_rep_status varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
    pl_id := create_parameter_list('my_list');
    add_parameter (pl_id,'P_HOSPITAL_ID',text_PARAMETER,
    :bm_hospitals.hospital_id);
    add_parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',text_PARAMETER,'NO');
    v_report_id := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('bm_r001');
    v_report := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT ( v_report_id,pl_id );
    vjob_id := substr ( v_report, length(<reportservername>)+2,
    length( v_report) );
    vc_rep_status := REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (v_report);
    IF vc_rep_status = 'FINISHED' THEN
         WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| vjob_id||
    '?server=rep_mohahubkpcomp_ORaHOme_IAS'||'&userid=
    bedman/bedman@bedman'||'&paramform=yes','_blank');
    ELSE
         message ('Report failed with error message '||vc_rep_status);
    END IF;
    Destroy_Parameter_List(pl_id);
    END;
    The Above code is running report and displaying Output perfect but cannot
    display the Parameter Form at runtime.
    any help in this very thankful.
    Regards
    Gagan.

    In Your code there is a line:
    add_parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',text_PARAMETER,'NO');
    which actually disables the report parameter form.
    The line:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| vjob_id||
    '?server=rep_mohahubkpcomp_ORaHOme_IAS'||'&userid=
    bedman/bedman@bedman'||'&paramform=yes','_blank');
    displays the report to which vjob_id refers. At this point the report is competed so the parameters userid and paramform are useless.
    Hope this helps.

  • Parameter Form-How to use a user parameter to retrieve list of values for another par

    I am developing a report in Reports 6i. There are 2 parameters on parameter form namely year and month.
    LOV for Year is retrieved from database. After user selects a value from LOV for year, I want to retrieve another LOV for month parameter based on selected year. That is how can we use a user parameter's value to dynamically retrieve an LOV for another parameter on the same parameter form.
    Pl. guide.
    Thanks in anticipation.

    You can't restrict the "List of Values" of one parameter based on the value of another parameter within the Reports Builder/Runtime parameter form.
    The SQL select statements within LOV's are only executed once. They aren't re-calculated when you enter, leave or change other field values in the parameter form. This is mainly because there is no event model in the Reports parameter form and it only supports basic form functionality.
    To do what you're after in a client-server environment you need to create an Oracle Forms "parameter form" and use that to execute the Report using the run_product() call. Actually, you should probably use Oracle Forms for any more generic "form" functionality such as radio buttons or check boxes.
    If you're in a Web rather than Client-Server environment, it may be easier to create a JSP based parameter form. You can then use Reports 9i since it has JSP support to assist here.

  • Calling report within parameter form

    I am using web.show_document to call a report with paramform=yes and desformat=spreadsheet.
    The users wanted the output to be displayed in excel rather than internet explorer so this was achieved by these PC settings
    control panel > folder options > file types tab
    Choose XLS from the list
    “Advanced” button
    untick “Browse in same window”
    This works OK except it has a side effect of leaving the parameter form displayed after running the report, and it has to be closed manually. Can anyone think of a method to fix this ?

    Try this in Before Form Value:.....<script type="text/javascript">
    function runAndClose(){
    myform.submit();
    setTimeout("window.close();",1500);
    </script>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#ffffff">
    <form id="myform" onsubmit="runAndClose();" method=post action="_action_">.....There may be an event which fires when the form has been submitted but failing that you'll justhave to hope the timeout interval is large enough.
    On my machine when window.close() runs in IE a message box pops up to tell me the window is trying to close, which I have to acknowledge. I don't know if this is a setting or hard-wired, but there may not be much benefit in having code to close the window 'automatically'.
    Incidentally, how do you specify a name for the spreadsheet file? I trieddesformat=spreadsheet&destype=cache&desname=c:\a.xlsbut the file in the Open File dialog is always named 'rwservlet'.
    Cheers,
    James.

  • Web Report not working with parameter form

    Hi,
    I have a report which has got a parameter form. This report is
    running fine in client/server environment. But when I deploy the
    same report on web (CGI) using PARAMFORM=YES, I am getting the
    parameter form and after pressing the SUBMIT button I am getting
    a blank report under the following two cases even though I have
    data for that query:
    CASE1: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="html">
    then I am getting the report with no data retrieved.
    CASE2: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="pdf">
    then I am getting completely blank report (no logo, no column
    titles, etc.)
    See the HTML code below. Remember, the same thing is running
    fine in client/server environment. Moreover, if I make a HTML-
    coded form for the report then everything on the client's
    browser is running fine. But this is not what we want, 'coz we
    are running the "BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" trigger in the report.
    So, should I conclude that web-reports does not work with the
    parameter forms?? Is it a bug???

    No pal, that's not the problem. The problem lies with the
    "BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" report trigger on the web. Check this
    out on ur report server and u will understand my problem.
