Parameter Form to Pass Dates to Report

Hi,If anyone have a sample Form that passing
date parameters to a report so that a report can select only the Date ranges passed from the Parameter Form. I need to set up a trigger at the Form Control block. Thanks.

For your 1st problem it seems to be a bug in Forms 6i - you can visit this site:

  • Parameter form not displaying in 9i reports. Works fine in 6i!!

    Parameter form does not show up with any options mentioned in the cgicmd.dat.
    It works in 6i & surprisingly in 9i reports it doesn't.
    In 6i reports destype=cache shows the report output on screen but in 9i it doesn't, the report just sits in the cache dir of reports on the middle tier.
    Was Oracle in a hurry to release such incomplete versions???as it shows 9 is exactly opposite to 6 in apperance so are the versions!!! & too much java is harmful to the system performance.
    If there's a patch please...

    my url looks like this
    http://abc:8888/reports/rwservlet?report=myreport.jsp&userid=a/b@c&server=myserver&paramform=yes
    or paramform=html with all other arguments same
    i have chosen system parameters destype,desname,desformat along with one user parameter
    i tried putting the same arguments as it has to put in the cgicmd.dat key map & also typed the above url from the client.
    If i give initial values to the parameters then for example i say destype as mail & give other parameters appropriate values , i get a status html form which says report ran successfully.The user gets the mail
    If i do not give initial values to every parameter except destype i still get the status message as report ran successfully, but the mail would have not gone.
    Is it that the reports will run only when deployed on 9iAS or it runs otherwise too on a system which has 9iDS.
    I had posted the same question earlier but i didn't quite understand about report escapes...the person who replied meant to say

  • Passing data from report to abap webdynpro

    Hello,
    I'm calling an abap webdynpro from an abap report through CALL_BROWSER MF.
    I need to pass data from a report to a webdynpro. It is a table that I want to pass. I've tried to user memory ids, but as I was suspecting, it doesn't work.
    Is there a way of doing it?
    Thanks and best regards,

    Hi,
    Please read this thread : Is it possible to pass a table as input parameter to a web dynpro app?

  • Parameter Form not calling the Main report - Gives REP-0110, REP-1070, REP-0110 error

    I am using run_report_object to call a report in which the user has to input some paramters. I have followed the instructions as in the Oracle White paper document on Forms/Reports integration.
    The paramter report does come up but when I hit the submit button, I get an error
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005'.
    REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005
    I've checked the privileges and everything's fine on that front. Also, I can get to open the report with the web.show document built-in with paramform setting = No.
    I am guessing something's wrong with the html constructed in the parameter form which is,
    <form method=post action="http://myserver/dev60cgi/RWCGI60.EXE?">
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="server=myserver &report=rclug005&destype=Cache&desformat=html&userid=uid/pwd@test">
    In the Report Before Form trigger, I've copied the foll. html code from the Oracle White paper,
    vc_parameter_form :=
    '<html><body bgclor="ffffff"><form method=post action="'||:p_action||'">'||
    '<input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden
    value= "'||vc_hidden_runtime_values||'">'||'<center><p>
    <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td>
    <input type=submit></td><td> width=15
    <td><input type=reset></td></tr></table><p><hr></p>';
    I've set the :p_action parameter to a value of http://myserver/dev60cgi/RWCGI60.EXE?
    Also, In the end of the report before form trigger I added this
    srw.set_before_form_html(srw.text_escape, vc_parameter_form);
    Any help/tips is appreciated & Thanks.

    Thanks Danny,
    I am building the variable exactly as in the White paper in the "before form" trigger using exactly the same values give there.
    vc_hidden_runtime_values := 'server='||:p_servername||'&report='||vc_report_name||'.rep&destype='||:destype||'&desformat='||:desformat||'&userid='||:p_userinfo;
    My report has some extra parameters too it expects. So do I have to include the names of those parameters too in the string above?
    For example, in my report a user parameter is named 'print_date', which I do see and populate with value in the parameter form, then do I have to build that in the vc_hidden_runtime_values string above.
    I am using Report 6.0.8.11.3 on 9iAS.

  • Reports Parameter form via rwservlet in 9i Reports display is too wide

    We have an app which was developed in Web Forms 6/6i which we are migrating to 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i. We are running the .RDF reports using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT with rwservlet and PARAMFORM=YES. The parameter form sizes are generally 5x5, but the parameters display much wider in the 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i environment in the Web Browser than they did in 6i. I have tried making the Parameter Form smaller, but the display still is way too wide: The browser window has to be scrolled several inches to the right to be viewed.
    Any ideas on the root cause of this issue and how to fix? Or, any solutions to fix besides using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT? We don't have time or resources to write 100 parameter forms in Forms and do the call to Reports that way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Judith, we had the same problem and the fix was to add the following parameter to the reports.sh file in the BI&Forms Oracle home:
    REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE=80;
    export REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE
    After that, the report server needed to be stopped and restarted for the change to take effect.

  • Passing data to reports from Forms

    Another question,
    we have a few Forms which call a report and pass the data directly to the report. The report itself isn't doing another query. At the moment I can't imagine a solution to that, but myabe I'm wrong.
    Changing the report to get some parameters and redoing the Query is not easy to do, Because we would loose the possibility to change the result-set inb Forms (f.e. Clear-Record) and only print out the changed result-set with the report.
    I would be grateful for any suggestion.
    Mark

    OK,
    you've asked ;-)
    here is one easy example.
    We have a form mainly based on one main data-block which corresponds to onw DB-Table which has a PK.
    we have some more blocks which are used for selection-fields, and so on.
    After setting the selection-fields and executing the query there could be f.e. in the Data-Block 10 rows. After that the User could delete f.e. 5 records with Shift-F4. This deletion is only done in the Forms-Block there is no action in the DB as well as no locking.
    After that he starts the reports-Object which is related to that particular Forms-Block. This relation is setup in the Form-Builder as Datasource-Block and Query-Name (both can't be changed at runtime).
    The clou is, that reports receives this Datablock and reads (I'm not sure where) only the 5 rows left in the Forms-Block.
    If I think about a IAS-Implementation whith a client on PC1 the Forms-Service on SRV1 and the Reports-Service on SRV2 that could be tricky to solve.

  • How to pass data from report list to program?

    Hi all,
    I have displayed an internal table content in a list with some fields setting input on.
    For example,
    LOOP AT ITAB.
       WRITE: ITAB-MATNR.
       WRITE: ITAB-MAKTX INPUT ON.
       WRITE: ITAB-LABOR INPUT ON.
    ENDLOOP
    Suppose there are 4 entries in ITAB, user then changes the MAKTX, LABOR of any 3 entries.
    Now, I want to update ALL the fields values (MAKTX, LABOR) on the list to database even though some fields values have not been changed. How could I pass ALL the fields values (MAKTX, LABOR) from the screen to the program? Should I use the read line command?
    Please help. Thanks.

    It's been a while since I tried this, but I think it goes:
    do:
      READ LINE sy-index FIELD VALUE ITAB-MATNR INTO matnr.
      if sy0subrc <> 0.
        exit.
      endif.
    enddo.
    The ABAP know that you wrote itab-matnr, and READ LINE is able to get that variable back again.

  • Calling report from form by passing parameter

    I have one form in which their is one filed name ID and another field which is nonbase table field. Now i want to run a report by enterint 'Y' in nonbase table field by taking the value of ID from ID field..
    This value of ID is a parameter for report tobe run....
    So how can i do this ?
    How can i create a parameter in form and pass it to report for to run..?
    thanks in advance

    This is one way of doing it :
    Create a parameter in the form and name it say : param_id, set the properties as desired. Create a parameter in the report to be run with the same name and the same properties. The where clause statement of your report query should be like this :
    WHERE ID = :PARAM_ID
    Then in the POST-CHANGE or KEY-NEXT-ITEM trigger at the non-base table item level enter the code like this :
    DECLARE
    pl_id ParamList;
    pl_name VARCHAR2(10) := 'rpt_data';
    BEGIN
    pl_id := Get_Parameter_List(pl_name);
    IF Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List(pl_name);
    ADD_PARAMETER(pl_id,'PARAM_ID',TEXT_PARAMETER,TO_CHAR(:ID)); -- TO_CHAR only if ID is NUMBER
    ADD_PARAMETER(pl_id,'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'NO'); -- this is only if you want to hide the parameter form that is displayed when running the report.
    RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS,'report_name.rdf',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM,pl_name);
    DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST(pl_name);
    ELSE
    Message('Parameter list '&#0124; &#0124;pl_name&#0124; &#0124;' already exists!');
    RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
    END IF;
    END;
    Hope this helps ! I don't know the version of forms that you are using, but this is valid in 4.5 and 5.

  • Not getting Reports Parameter Form in web-forms environ

    I am not able to get a report parameter form to appear for a
    report called from forms via a 'run_product' command. It works
    fine in client/server mode. In web-forms the report just goes
    ahead and runs without the needed parameters. I have tried
    explicitly passing a parameter list with the 'paramform' set to
    'yes' and this did nothing. I have this on a NT box with latest
    Dev2 patches applied.
    1. Is the reports parameter form supposed to work in web-forms
    mode?
    2. How do you set it up to work, if it is supposed to work?
    Thanks for any replies.

    I guess you have to use web.show_document - I found this article
    on DevConnect:
    Article-ID: <Note:68647.1>
    Circulation: PUBLISHED (EXTERNAL)
    Platform: GENERIC Generic issue
    Subject: How to show Reports HTML PARAMFORM when
    calling Reports
    from Forms
    Modified-Date: 09-AUG-1999 18:02:04
    Document-Type: BULLETIN
    Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN
    Impact: MEDIUM
    Component: SQLREP
    PURPOSE:
    This bulletin explains how to overcome the current restriction
    of calling an Oracle Report from Oracle Forms and showing a
    PARAMETER FORM. This is currently not possible when using the
    RUN_PRODUCT built-in with
    WEB DEPLOYED APPLICATIONS.
    DESCRIPTION:
    When you call an Oracle Report from Oracle Forms using
    RUN_PRODUCT in Client-server, you can specify an optional
    parameter called PARAMFORM to display the parameter form defined
    in the Oracle Report.
    For web-deployed applications, the PARAMFORM parameter can be
    set to HTML to produce a HTML version of the parameter form.
    When calling Oracle Reports from an Oracle Form using
    RUN_PRODUCT and specifying PARAMFORM=HTML in the parameter list,
    the Oracle Reports parameter form doesn't show the in the client
    browser. If the Oracle Reports Cartridge/CGI is used and
    PARAMFORM=HTML is specified, then the Oracle Reports parameter
    form does appear in the client browser.
    Oracle Forms does not use either the Cartridge or the CGI with
    RUN_PRODUCT, and it's these thin clients that produce the HTML
    Oracle Reports parameter form.
    As a workaround to this problem, you can use either the
    Cartridge or the CGI with the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT Oracle Forms
    builtin. This does require either the Oracle Reports Cartrige
    or the CGI to be installed. Neither of these are necessary if
    the parameter form isn't required.
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    The following items need to be installed:
    1. Oracle Reports Multi-tier Server.
    2. Oracle Reports Web Cartridge
    or
    Oracle Reports Web CGI.
    Here is a typical URL that can be specified in a browser
    to run a report using Oracle Reports Cartridge implementation:
    http://your_webserver/r30ows?
    server=repserver21+report=emp_30.rep+
    destype=cache+desformat=html+userid=scott/tiger@mydb+paramform=ht
    ml
    For CGI implementation:
    http://your_webserver/your_vir_cgi_dir/r30cgi32.exe?
    server=repserver21+report=emp_30.rep+destype=cache+desformat=html
    userid=scott/tiger@mydbparamform=html
    The Oracle Reports parameter form now is shown. This can be
    used with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT issuing the request to execute the
    report to the Oracle Reports Multi-Tier Server instead of using
    RUN_PRODUCT.
    The following code may be added to a program unit, which then
    issues the request to run the report:
    IF get_application_property(user_interface) = 'WEB' then
    /* Use Cartridge configuration with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. */
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://your_webserver/r30ows?
    server=repserver21+report=emp_30.rep+destype=cache+desformat=html
    userid=scott/tiger@mydbparamform=html', '_self');
    /* OR for CGI configuration. */
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT
    ('http://your_webserver/your_vir_cgi_dir/r30cgi32.exe?
    server=repserver21+report=emp_30.rep+destype=cache+desformat=html
    userid=scott/tiger@mydbparamform=html', '_self');
    ELSE
    /* use RUN_PRODUCT for client-server with PARAMFORM=Yes. */
    Add_Parameter(plid, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'YES');
    RUN_PRODUCT
    (REPORTS,'emp_30.rep',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,plid);
    END;

  • Passing Parameters into Parameter Forms

    I am having a bit of difficulty trying to get a parameter form to display and the report to execute properly with an additional parameter defined in the url.
    Here is the applicable line in cgicmd.dat file...
    key: report=test3.rdf server=xxxx userid=xxxx/xxxx@xxxx destype=cache desformat=htmlcss P_group_no=%1 %P
    I then try to open this webpage...
    http://server/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?key+10
    With the %P setting on the Parameter Form page is displayed as it should and the appropriate form parameter is populated with a 10. However when I go execute the form it displays the following message.
    Oracle Reports Server CGI - Error occurred while parsing the Reports Server command line.
    If I remove the %P parameter and pass in the same argument list then the report display properly. Additionally if I try to run the report with the %P, but without the P_group_no=%1, letting that be defined in the parameter form it also works fine.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    How about using paramform=yes in you url and just giving a default value to the parameter you want in the report definition?

  • Report without Parameter form

    I would like to generate report without Parameter form being displayed.How to do?

    If you use Forms to pass parameters to Reports, use add_parameter('PARAMFORM',text_parameter,'NO'). This will "disable" the parameter form.

  • Problem in Runinng a report with parameter form through Run_Report_object

    Hi,
    I am trying to run reports thought RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in. It works fine in following cases
    * Run a report without parameter Form
    * Run a report with parameter form by passing parameters through parameter
    List.
    But it did not o\work in following cases.
    * Run a report with parameter form by passing parameters through setting the
    REPORT_OTHER option of SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY built-in.
    * Run a report with parameter form by using Reports own parameter form.
    In first case it says un able to run report and does not even submitt the job to the AS. In the second case its submits the job but when i show it with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT, it opens the parameter form and when i run the report after filling the parameters, it displays an error page.
    I am using 9iDS and 10g AS, and 10g Database. Please help me.
    Mohib.

    Mohib,
    Run a report with parameter form by passing parameters through setting the REPORT_OTHER option of SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY built-in.[...] it says un able to run report and does not even submitt the job to the AS
    This sound like a user error to me and you want to check the parameters and maybe look at the Reports Queue Manager for the exact error message
    Run a report with parameter form by using Reports own parameter form.

  • How do you display a parameter form built from a report?

    Does anyone know how to display the parameter form from building a customized report, as a portlet on a page? Everytime I try, I get the report, which will return no records because it does not first ask for the query parameters.
    thanks!

    You don;t select Run to Run the report with
    parameters - you select the Customize option.

  • Calling report within parameter form

    I am using web.show_document to call a report with paramform=yes and desformat=spreadsheet.
    The users wanted the output to be displayed in excel rather than internet explorer so this was achieved by these PC settings
    control panel > folder options > file types tab
    Choose XLS from the list
    “Advanced” button
    untick “Browse in same window”
    This works OK except it has a side effect of leaving the parameter form displayed after running the report, and it has to be closed manually. Can anyone think of a method to fix this ?

    Try this in Before Form Value:.....<script type="text/javascript">
    function runAndClose(){
    myform.submit();
    setTimeout("window.close();",1500);
    </script>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#ffffff">
    <form id="myform" onsubmit="runAndClose();" method=post action="_action_">.....There may be an event which fires when the form has been submitted but failing that you'll justhave to hope the timeout interval is large enough.
    On my machine when window.close() runs in IE a message box pops up to tell me the window is trying to close, which I have to acknowledge. I don't know if this is a setting or hard-wired, but there may not be much benefit in having code to close the window 'automatically'.
    Incidentally, how do you specify a name for the spreadsheet file? I trieddesformat=spreadsheet&destype=cache&desname=c:\a.xlsbut the file in the Open File dialog is always named 'rwservlet'.
    Cheers,
    James.
