  • Labview control caption passed as parameter name

    Hi,
    Why is the Caption of a Labview control, when the control is assigned as a terminal on the VI connector, passed to Teststand as the parameter name ?
    I would have expected the Label of the control to be the parameter name passed to Teststand.
    In the past I've used the control's Caption to locally modify the front panel text, and the Label is used to represent the data's\variables name.
    regards,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary,
    My name is Kevin and I am an Application Engineer at NIUK.
    The original idea was to show the caption (if not empty) of a control instead of the label in case the user decides to localized the control by modifying the caption which we can dynamically change. The LV adapter stores both the caption and the label. The caption is only shown if it is not empty.
    Changing the behavior to always show labels will not affect compatibility since we already store them. Most of the time, the label and the caption are the same and if they are not the same I don't see a problem with just showing the caption. I have never seen a VI that shows both the caption and the label at the same time and if the caption is different that is what it is shown instead of the label.
    kind Regards

  • Callable statement: out parameter type issue

    Hello again.
    My question is:
    how can I register the out parameter of a callable statement so that it may contain an oracle Cursor?
    Whether I register it to Types.OTHER (Types from the java.sql package) or OracleTypes.CURSOR (OracleTypes from the oracle.jdbc.driver package) it still says :
    PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type
    when trying to execute a statement that returns a cursor.
    I am using the com.sap.portals.jdbc.oracle package for the driver and such.
    If I change to use the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver and register the out parameter to OracleTypes.CURSOR, then it works.
    Thanks in advance,

    more detailed
    1) i have write some java code using as usual my IDE:
    public class P141_JAVABridge
    public static void execute()
    String databaseDriver = "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver";
    String databaseUrl = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@xxx:1521:orcl";
    String databaseUsername = "xxx";
    String databasePassword = "xxx";
    ods.setDriverType(databaseDriver);
    ods.setURL(databaseUrl);
    ods.setUser(databaseUsername);
    ods.setPassword(databasePassword);
    connection = ods.getConnection();
    .... some code
    map.put("custom_T",Custom_T_SQLData.class);
    CallableStatement call = connection.prepareCall("call P141(?,?)");
    call.setObject(1,inputObjectReference);
    call.registerOutParameter(2,OracleTypes.STRUCT,"custom_T");
    call.execute();
    .... some code
    2) i run this code - wooha! it works
    3) i have changed
    connection = ods.getConnection();
    to
    connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:default:connection:");
    4) compile and load class into oracle
    5) i have linked P141_JAVABridge.execute() with P141_JB
    create or replace PROCEDURE P141_JB () IS LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'x.y.z.P141_JAVABridge.execute()';
    6) then i executed P141_JB
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;
    BEGIN
    ...some code
    P141_JB();
    ...some code
    END;
    and got NullPointerException at
    ((Custom_T_SQLData)call.getObject(2)).responseStatus

  • Please, Not getting result set from callable statement (Code posted)

    I am posting some simple code which should get a ResultSet from a CallableStatement object using the executeQuery() Method.
    It is returning "No RsultSet was produced"
    If I modify the code and simply output the CallableableStatement using its executeUpdate() then getString() methods it works fine. Anything obviously wrong with this bit of code? Thanks.

    Here's the stored procedure. I'm just trying to do a simple test to return multiple rows. The table has numberous records with the same id which is being passed to the function.
    create or replace function test1 ( strInputID IN testtable.id%type)
    return varchar2
    is
    strOutputName testtable.name%type;
    found_it EXCEPTION;
    begin
    select name into strOutputName from testtable
    where id = strInputID;
    raise found_it;
    exception
    when no_data_found
    then
    return null;
    when found_it
    then
    return strOutputName;
    end;

    I've posted the code...it's doing a select. I think the problem is that to return multiple rows I need to return a cursor. But I've run into problems with both the MS and Oracle Drivers.
    All I really want to do is to query a database using a callable statement(function in oracle) which will return multiple rows which I can process. I have been trying to do this in a servlet.
    I can do it successfully for one column from one row, but not multiple columns from mulitple rows.
    I've been searchging for some good examples and am trying different things but can't seem to get it to work.

  • How to pass Array of Java objects to Callable statement

    Hi ,
    I need to know how can I pass an array of objects to PL/SQL stored procedure using callable statement.
    So I am having and array list of some object say xyz which has two attributes string and double type.
    Now I need to pass this to a PL/SQL Procedure as IN parameter.
    Now I have gone through some documentation for the same and found that we can use ArrayDescriptor tp create array (java.sql.ARRAY).
    And we will use a record type from SQL to map this to our array of java objects.
    So my question is how this mapping of java object's two attribute will be done to the TYPE in SQL? can we also pass this array as a package Table?
    Please help
    Thanks

    I seem to remember that that is in one of Oracle's online sample programs.

  • Pass parameter name as table name

    I tried to append a parameter name (area) to the name of the table through a stored procedure. As we're using CIS, the @area reference doesn't work -- instead we use ?. The SP is simple:
    declare @sql nvarchar(2000)
    set @sql = 'select 1,2,3 from table_'+@area+'where <condition 1>'
    execute sp_execute @sql
    Executing this SP shows up a long list of errors.
    Any help is deeply appreciated.

    Post the actual and complete procedure and not just the part you think is relevant.
    Post at least some of the complete and actual error messages you have received.
    Lastly I will assume that your code has been edited for posting.  Assuming you did not add any additional errors during this editing, then perhaps you simply need to add a space between the table name and your where clause. In other words, change
    from table_'+@area+'where <condition 1>'
    to
    from table_'+@area+' where <condition 1>'
    And as always, it would help you and your readers to post the actual string that you are attempting to execute.  Simple logic errors in assembling your string are difficult to diagnose when you don't actually "see" the executed statement.

  • How to pass Array String to callable statement

    How can I pass an array variable to the callable statement as an out parameter and how to define that in the pl/sql procedure.
    Thanks,

    If you would refer to the link given by Anil, You can make out that there in input as well as in output it is passing an array of records.
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall("{call XX_PassTableType.XX_PassTableType_prc(:1, :2)}");
    ARRAY array = new ARRAY(new ArrayDescriptor("APPS.JTF_NUMBER_TABLE", conn), conn, vNumber);
    ARRAY array1 = new ARRAY(new ArrayDescriptor("APPS.JTF_VARCHAR2_TABLE_100", conn), conn, as);
    cs.setArray(1, array);
    cs.setArray(2, array1);
    cs.registerOutParameter(2, 2003, "JTF_VARCHAR2_TABLE_100");In above lines 1 is the input parameter that is an array of number while 2 is an array of varchar.
    Thanks

  • How to run a webdynpro multiple times by passing different parameters each time and save webpages with parameter name?

    Hi Experts,
    I am a BW consultant and new to webdynpro. Not sure how to run RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY multiple times and by passing different parameter values each time(either taken from an a standard BW table or user provided - anything is fine) and build web pages with parameter name. Need help with direction on where to start.
    Let me step back and explain my requirement:
    In BW we have an object called transformation.
    One way of generating documentation for transformation is highlight transformation and press F1. Then its documentation will be opened as a local web page.
    I need these web pages for all transformations. This is my requirment.
    I came to know that RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY is beeing used to generate this web page.
    The web link is something like below:
    http://ubw05.xxx.com:8005/SAP/BW/DOC/METADATA/?page=BW_O_D&SystemID=BWPCLNT100&ClassID=TRFN&ID=0KHR6J65AIIUTCJZEC093K6XDFV909PB&objectVersion=A&sap-language=EN&sap-client=100
    When i run this link seperately(not by selecting transformation and pressing F1) i need to enter login credentials to BW system.
    My challenges is how do i pass login credentials and multiple transformation IDs to generate multipe web pages with each page named by transformation ID?
    WHere to start? First of all is RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY Webdynpro JAVA or webdynpro ABAP or can i use anything?
    Since it is beeing opened as local webpages i assume it is webdynpro JAVa is that correct?
    Thanks,
    Raghu

  • Set-PhysicalDisk failing with error: A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'MediaType'.

    Hi,
    I run the following command:
    PS C:\Users\Administrator> Set-PhysicalDisk -FriendlyName PhysicalDisk0 -MediaType SSD
    Set-PhysicalDisk : A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'MediaType'.
    At line:1 char:46

    + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (:) [Set-PhysicalDisk], ParameterBindingException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,Set-PhysicalDisk
    PS C:\Users\Administrator>
    As you can see, it errors out, as if MediaType doesn't exist.  Has something changed in this command?

    Hi,
    As you said, it seems like MediaType is not supported as a parameter.
    What's the OS version? It should be available in Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1 or PowerShell 4.0 installed.
    In my Windows Server 2012 R2 it is supported.
    Please provide the result of $PSVersionTable for comparing. Here is my version:

    Hi,
    I got a problem. I cant pass in parameter to function by using select statement. But it can pass in parameter by using 'hardcode' method. How can I solve this problem?
    Eg,
    select * from table (SplitFunction('HS750020,HS750021')) <<< this work.
    but
    select * from table (SplitFunction(select LOT_NO from TRACER_SEARCH_SCHEDULE where JOB_ID = '36')) <<< do not work.
    Thanks for who try to help. Thanks.

  • Callable statement problem-very urgent

    Hi Friends,
    i have 2 tables, in that two tables one column have same attribute column. when i update the first table through OAF page, i wanted to effect updated value in second table of that common field also. i wrote PL/SQL Procedure and called that into OAF by using callable statements. here first time i updated in the page, updated value is effecting into the first table while second table not effected the updated value. again i am trying to update the page this time in second table effected with first time updation value,while first table updated correctly. suppose i updated again in the page this time in second table effected with second time updation value, while first table updated correctly.this process continuing...
    example – I want to update forecast(this field is in two tables) value filed. Now forecast value is 10 in both tables , I updated as 20. this 20 updated value effected first table while second table forecast field is not effected.
    Again I am going to update value 30 in the place of 20. this 30 updated value effected first table while second table forecast field is 20(firstupdated value) effected.
    Again I am going to update value 40 in the place of 30. this 40 updated value effected first table while second table forecast field is 30(secondupdated value) effected this process continuing...
    Can any one help me out this problem
    This is I have written in AM-
    public void Callable()
    String forecast="";
    String name="";
    String product="";
    String business="";
    XXProgsVOImpl vo = getXXProgsVO1();
    RowSetIterator rowsetiterator=vo.getRowSetIterator();
    rowsetiterator.reset();
    while(rowsetiterator.hasNext())
    Row row = rowsetiterator.next();
    forecast=row.getAttribute("Forcast").toString();
    name=row.getAttribute("Name").toString();
    product=row.getAttribute("Product").toString();
    business=row.getAttribute("Business").toString();
    String s="BEGIN do_update(?,?,?,?);End;";
    OADBTransaction dbtrans=getOADBTransaction();
    OracleCallableStatement cs=(OracleCallableStatement)dbtrans.createCallableStatement(s,4);
    try
    cs.setString(1, forecast);
    cs.setString(2, name);
    cs.setString(3, product);
    cs.setString(4, business);
    cs.execute();
    dbtrans.commit();
    cs.close();
    catch(SQLException e)
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    Thanks and Regards,
    vamshi

    Hi Sumit and Thiago,
    Thanks for your information, my Both VO's are coming from EO'S. but first VO I have done some calculation on columns, that calulated value parameter passing to second page. this calculated value is the database column in second table. here when i update the calculated value in updated page , i want to effect this in second page table.
    do you have any work around this..
    Thanks and Regards,
    vamshi

  • Callable statement doubt-urgent

    hi all,i got a problem in callable statements.i know how to pass parameters to a procedure using a callable statement.but this time i need to pass a table name as a parameter.the problem is if i get that variable as a IN parameter in the procedure then how do you put that parameter in place of table name inside the procedure.heres a example,the pocedure is in oracle
    i am passing variable a from java
    create or replace procedure (a in varchar2)
    begin
    select * from <the parameter passed through a> where <condition>
    end;
    how can this be done.the select statement is given only as a example.the errors in the select are not emphasized here.the focus is on the table name.if there is any other way to do this do let me know.please reply fast.this is urgent.any kind of help is welcome.bye thiyagu.

    In some databases the SQL used in your stored procedure can reference 'variables' that contain the values to be used at statement execution time. This will be covered in your database's SQL reference. If this is not supported by your database you will have to perform a 'switch' based on the table name passed and select the SQL statement to be executed.

  • Using A callable statement in java

    Hi all im trying to get results back from the database using a callable statement the problem is that it is placing / infront of single quotes.I need to get rid of this because it's not returning anything
    here is my code
    CallableStatement statementOne;
    statementOne = ComparitiveAnalysisGUI.conn.prepareCall("{call graphProc(?,?,?,?,?,?,?)}");
    statementOne.setString(1,"\"date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d H:59:59'),avg(billsec)\"");
    statementOne.setString(2,"Clovercdr");
    statementOne.setString(3,start);
    statementOne.setString(4,end);
    statementOne.setString(5,"Boksburg");
    statementOne.setString(6,"\"billsec > 0 and Network = " + network + "\"");
    statementOne.setString(7,"\"date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:M:S')\"");
    System.out.println(statementOne.toString());
    rs = statementOne.executeQuery();
    the result of the println is
    com.mysql.jdbc.CallableStatement@ec4a87: CALL graphProc('"date_format(calldate, \'%Y-%m-%d %H:59:59\'),avg(billsec)"','Clovercdr','\'2006-03-14 00:00:01\'','\'2006-03-14 23:59:59\'','Boksburg','"billsec > 0 and Network = \'SAMobile\'"','"date_format(calldate, \'%Y-%m-%d %H:M:S\')"')
    as you can see quite a mess please help if you can get the statement to look as follows
    CALL graphProc("date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:59:59'),avg(billsec)",'Clovercdr','2006-03-14 00:00:01','2006-03-14 23:59:59','Boksburg',"billsec > 0 and Network = 'SAMobile'","date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:M:S')")
    thanks Brian

    Ok in order to understand why I did what I did parhaps it would be best if you saw my Stored procedure
    create procedure graphProc(col varchar(100),company varchar(20),startTime datetime,endTime datetime,branchName varchar(20),andSection varchar(200),groupSec varchar(100))
    BEGIN
    SET @stmt := CONCAT("SELECT ",col," from ",company," where calldate between '",startTime,"' and '",endTime,"' and branchName = '",branchName,"' and ",andSection," Group by ",groupSec);
    PREPARE stmt1 from @stmt;
    EXECUTE stmt1;
    the call is for example
    call graphProc("date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:59:59'),avg(billsec)",'Clovercdr','2006-03-01 00:00:01','2006-03-14 23:59:59','Boksburg',"billsec > 0 and date_format(calldate, '%k') BETWEEN 7 AND 19 and Network = 'SAMobile'","date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:M:S')")//
    as you can see In MySQL the "date_format(calldate, '%Y-%m-%d %H:59:59'),avg(billsec)" has to be quoted like this, so it can recognise it as a single parameter, since , '%Y-%m-%d %H:59:59' is viewed as another parameter
    thaks for your reply
