  • Parse local HTML files

    Hi,
    I want to parse local HTML files.
    Is there another way than using the Internet Explorer($ie = new-object -com "InternetExplorer.Application";) (without relaying on external packages)?
    At the moment I do something like that:
    $ie = new-object -com "InternetExplorer.Application";
    Start-Sleep -Seconds 1
    $ie.Navigate($srcFile)
    Start-Sleep -Seconds 1
    $ParsedHtml = $ie.Document
    foreach($child in $ParsedHtml.body.getElementsByTagName('table'))
    I still want to have the methods like 'getElementById()' or 'getElementByTagName()'.
    With my current approache, the performance is not realy good and it seems that the iexplorer.exe process is not terminating at the end of the script.
    Also it seems to have sideeffects with running internet explorer instances (from GUI) - not working to start IE in powershell sometimes.
    Last time I also have a hanging script, not continuing till i manually terminate the iexplorer.exe process.
    The error was:
    Exception calling "Navigate" with "1" argument(s): "The remote procedure call f
    ailed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE)"
    At D:\Scripts\Run.ps1:529 char:14
    + $ie.Navigate <<<< ($src)
    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ComMethodTargetInvocation
    so I would prefere a method parsing HTML without IE.

    Hi John Mano,
    Please also try to Parse local HTML files with
    System.Xml.Linq, the script may be helpful for you:
    Using PowerShell to parse local HTML files
    I hope this helps.
    XML?
    I thought HTML is not compatible with xml.
    And as I don't know LINQ good ...
    Ok, I'll give it a try. later.
    I can't answer the question about other ways to parse HTML, but to close your IE session you should do the following:
    $ie.Quit() # this terminates the IE process
    $ie = $null # this frees the COM object memory
    Thanks for that.
    I now use that, but seems to be still some IEs open ...
    Maybe a path missing where i dont do it.
    But finally I still get this error. And it is blocking the whole script ...

  • How to save HTML file with images present in the server to local machine

    Hi all
    In my application i have a option for the user to save HTML files with images present in the server. The HTML file is getting saved but the images are not being saved.
    The code i am using is below :-
    l
                        File fname = new File(filePath);
                        if(!fname.exists())                return;
                        FileInputStream istr = null;
                        OutputStream ostr = null;
                        response.setContentType("application/"+format);
                        response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + fname.getName() + "\";");
                        try {
                             istr = new FileInputStream(fname);
                             ostr = response.getOutputStream();
                             int curByte=-1;
                             while( (curByte=istr.read()) !=-1)
                                  ostr.write(curByte);
                             ostr.flush();
    Can anyone suggest what i need to do
    regards

    The client should probably parse the html that comes down, and look for <img> links, and request those of the server as well.

  • How to parse a flat file with C#

    I need to parse a flat file with data that looks like
    01,1235,555
    02,2135,558
    16,156,15614
    16,000,000
    You get the idea. Anyway, I'd like to just used a derived column and move on except I need to put a line number on each row as it comes by so the end looks like,
    1,01,1235,555
    2,02,2135,558
    3,16,156,15614
    4,16,000,000
    I'm trying to do with a script transformation but I can't seem to get the hang of the syntax. I've tried looking at various examples but everybody seems to prefer VB and I'd like to keep all of my packages C#. I've set up my input and my output columns I just
    need to figure out how to write the code that says something like:
    row_number = 1
    line_number = row_number
    record_type = input.split.get the second data element
    data_point_1 = input.split.get the third data element
    row_number = row_number ++

  • HTML Files on a SQL Query

    Hi All,
    How can we save the results of a sql query in a html files. Am using HTMLDB.
    How to 1. Create HTML files from a sql query in the client drive
    2. Store the HTML File into a specified drive (mapped drive)
    Kindly help.
    Thanks in advance

    You cannot. Not with HTMLDB aka web app server architecture.
    The application tier of HTMLDB resides in Oracle. The user connects to the web tier (Apache).
    Basic architecture. Web user sends a request to web server. Web server processes the user's request, opens a connections to Oracle and runs the application (HTMLDB) in the Oracle Server.
    The application (HTMLDB), within the client-server context, services the web tier. The web tier is its client. The Oracle/HTMLDB server has no idea (and is not interested) in who/where/how/what the web server is in turn servicing. IT IS NOT ITS PROBLEM.
    To deliver that file to the user's drive (if that is the requirement), is the problem of the web server. Not the application tier (HTMLDB) that runs on the Oracle Server. Very likely, the Oracle Server will not even be able to communicate directly with the web user - due to proxies, firewalls, and so on.
    This is why HTMLDB allows you to design the output of a HTML report to be downloadable as a CSV file. This means that instead of returning a Mime Type of TEXT/HTML to the web server and have the web server passing that along to the web user, it returns TEXT/CSV. The browser is (usually) configured to either save that contents it receives from the web server as a file, or to launch a spreadsheet application (Excel/OpenOffice) to receive that data.
    As for submitting a file as a SQL query from a local drive... that is the web user's problem. And the web browser. It needs to have a mechanism in order to provide that file's contents to the web server for processing. The web server talks HTTP - thus that file must be submitted via HTTP. Mapping drives uses NetBIOS as a protocol.. which is something completely different.
    And again, this has nothing to do with the HTMLDB application layer inside Oracle (it will process whatever the web server passes to it).
    Having clients sharing their drives for write access (in order to allow a server to write to it).. that is truly a Horrible Idea (tm). It will open HUGE security holes in a network. It is contrary to the fundemental principles and concepts of designing web-based systems.

  • How can I move or delete files with PL-SQL???

    I have Oracle 9i and Sun Solaris 5.8
    I have a table (“TABLE_FILENAME”) with the files name in one directory. (I read the files name in a directory and put it in a table). I charge some files with external tables and then I have to move some fields to another directory and delete others files.
    How can I delete files with PL-SQL and How can I move files with PL-SQL?
    I have the names of files and the actions (Delete o Move) in a table (“TABLE_FILENAME”) (The files in this table are dynamics).

    If you're using 9i then you will find that the new functions UTL_FILE.FCOPY and UTL_FILE.FREMOVE will allow you to do what you want. Check out the documentation for more details.

  • Having problems: can't open an html file with textedit to change code

    Hi. I have been trying to open up both my index.html and my Welcome.html files with textedit in order to change the HTML codes for them - but it doesn't seem to work. When I open them using text edit I still get a discomboblutaed form of the web page and no html codes. HOWEVER when I open them with Word I can get at the HTML code. Will changing the code in Word work or must I use textedit to do it? ULtimately does anyone know how to fix the fact that your web URL always gets redirected to the home page because of the index file. For Instance, my web site is www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com but when you type that in it redirects to the opening page www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com/Home.html which is a problem for when you want to submit your web site to be found on the net. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Cheers!

    Give TextWrangler a try. It's a free editor by the makers of BBEdit and is very well suited for editing HTML.
    But as far as your URL in the window, unless you have URL forwarding with masking you will always get the page name at the end of the URL in the browser's window. That's just how it works. With masking you will only get www.zanzibarhotelbeach.com in every window of the site. BUT visitors will only be able to bookmark the first page of your site. My tutorial site, http://toadstutorials.info/ is set up that way.
    This thread discusses how the different domain name forwarding works:

    Hi
    Can you tell me which version of dreamweaver you are using (and flash pro, if you have it), as the code you provided has element of a number of different versions (e.g. your js flash files are reasonably new, but your flash inserted into the html body is old, but with the cs3 version of flash player indicated!). Also the detect flash file is no longer required.

    Run the program from command line, this way you will see the errors, if any.
    example.: java -jar theJarfile.jar

    I also extracted the comm.jar , and jar'd my app with the extracted comm files to make one jar.
    I also had a fileWriter() to get the clients jre path and my app would write the javax.properties file to the correct place.
    It took me severel weeks and late nights to accomplish this, but it was all necessary to be able to install only my app, and not a bunch of api's that were needed.
