Hi,
I have 2 HTML regions in my page. Region1 has its set of buttons like while region2 but when submit button in region 1 is clicked i want it to only refresh/submit that particular region not the entrire page, also when button in region2 is clicked it should submit only that region2.
Any idea?
thanks.

thanks.What version of Apex are you using? Not sure if you can partially submit a HTML region. I could think of 3 possible options:
1. AJAX region pull as described here:
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:48
and here:
Partial refreshing of pages in 2.0 ?
So, in your case, you can have the Region 2 in a different page and use the technique described above to pull the region's HTML into your current page.
2. Use the Skillbuilder's modal window plugin - http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/dynamic-action-plugin/skillbuilders-modal-page_138.html
You can have the Region 2 developed in a different page. You can then invoke it from your current page using a DA.
3. Call a Javascript function from the "submit" button. Let the JS function call a AJAX on-demand application process to do the computation. Later, you can refresh the page items in the JS function, as described here:
Set item value using AJAX
Hope the above helps.
Thanks,
Rohit

    Hi All
    Is it feasible to trigger a full page submit when row change in a table? the selection behavior in table only trigger a partial page submit to server.

    Hi,
    you can override the SelectListener to point to a managed bean method that uses a JSF MethodExpression to preserve the default configured functionality. You then issue a redirect
       FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
       ExternalContext ectx = fctx.getExternalContext();
       String viewId = "... add viewId...."  //WebCenter ViewId to redirect to
      ControllerContext controllerCtx = null;
      controllerCtx = ControllerContext.getInstance();
      String activityURL = controllerCtx.getGlobalViewActivityURL(viewId);
      try{
        ectx.redirect(activityURL);
        } catch (IOException e) {
        }Frank

  • (Classic) Report losing pagination on partial page refresh - APEX feature request

    I have a page with both an Interactive Report and some classic Report regions.
    Based on user updates, there are many occasions where I need to do a partial page refresh.
    Thanks to plugin http://www.apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/dynamic-action-plugin/refresh-interactive-report-1.0_361.html
    I'm able to refresh my IR, but not my classic report (unless I do a submit of the whole page) without losing pagination.
    Request: Will a Dynamic action 'Refresh without losing pagination' be part of future apex versions?
    Now, in apex 4.2, is there another work around available for classic reports?
    (I use 'submit page' now as action, but it's at least a second slower as a partial refresh, and because I need it on every user update, this second becomes a big addition to user frustration).
    Thanks, JP

  • POP LOV and Branching ( Partial page refresh)

    I have a POP LOV (Shows description and returns id). I want to change certain elements on the screen based on the user selection.
    It is not possible via POP LOV. I cannot use selection lov since the number of values returned is going to be very large.
    is it possible to achieve this functionality in any way using POP LOV ?
    Appreciate your help.
    Rgds

    Scott,
    Thanks for your input. I think I didn't frame my question correctly, sorry about that. I will describe further
    I want the page to refresh after a value is chosen using POP LOV. THis is required to hide/show certain elements on the screen and also to populate another Dependant LOV.
    For example, choosing country should populate dependant "city" or states lov. I have to achieve some functionality similar to this. I do not want to "Submit" the page, because I don't want to save anything at this point in time.
    So it would be partial page refresh (Similar to OA Framework) without submit.

  • Partial Page Refresh - Text Box Update

    Hi,
    I have a page where there are numerous regions, each containing two or more text fields. I want these to update periodically using partial page refresh.
    I have got the partial page refresh working but my text fields are not being updated. How would I get them to update? I know I can't call a page process from javascript, only application processes.
    Cheers
    Simon

    Hi John,
    I think you'll need to create two dynamic actions. One of type PL/SQL block with null; as the source and enter the items to submit. The second is the Refresh Region Dynamic Action..

  • Partial Page Rendering with HTMLDB2.0. How can I do it?

    Hi,
    somebody told me, that PPR is implemented in HTMLDB 2.0. So not the whole page will be rerendered after a submit but a single region. I know this very helpful feature from the ADF-Java Server Faces. How can I do it with HTMLDB 2.0?
    Bye,
    Rumburak

    Hello,
    Take a look at this thread.
    Netflix: Nice UI ideas
    Also just so you know PPR Partial Page Refresh is an Oracle term you would probably have better luck looking for AJAX or XMLHTTP when looking in the forums

    ADF UIX has very little documentation online and finding it hard to debug this issue.

    Hi Jason,
    As of EA9, all rendered components support a partialTriggers attribute. This attribute takes a list of master component IDs. If any of the master components are updated via a partial event, the dependent component will be rerendered in the partial update.
    If you are on an earlier release, you should upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jeanne

  • Partial page rendering not working in ie9

    Hello guys, i have one fusion web application and got menu navigation using partial page rendering. The problem is, the ppr is working fine in firefox, chrome, ie8 and ie7 but not working in ie9. Is it i need to update jdeveloper patch or something?
    My ppr setting
    put below code in web.xml
    <context-param>
    <param-name>oracle.adf.view.rich.pprNavigation.OPTIONS</param-name>
    <param-value>on</param-value>
    </context-param>
    for the menu just enable partial submit
    partialSubmit="true"

    Oh sorry, currently i am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.5.0. Actually it is not shown any error, when i click the command link as example below, in ie9, nothing happens still displaying same page (my main page).
    my sample menu
    *<af:commandLink partialSubmit="true" action="page1" text="Page 1" id="cl2"/>*
    *<af:commandLink partialSubmit="true" action="page2" text="Page 2" id="cl3"/>*
    in task flow, action page1 will open page1.jspx and page2 will open page2.jspx

  • Error-Message "Item not defined on current page" after Page submit - AJAX

    Hello,
    a lot of subpages (regions) are loaded over htmldb_get and displayed on a master page.
    The parts loaded over AJAX are reports. The report regions of these reports contain a hidden and protected field, which hold the page number (&APP_PAGE_ID.)
    This was necessary because I had to overwrite the standard pagination function $a_report on the master page. Otherwise the standard pagination function uses always the page number of the master page and not the page number of the loaded subpages. The overwritten function $a_report is placed in the master page header and searchs for the hidden + proteced field, containing the page number of the loaded subpage.
    This works already fine.
    But after submitting the master page with before loaded subpages over htmldb_get, I get following error message:
    Error Item ID (15348310159873659) is not an item defined on the current page .
    Setting the hidden + protected field on the subpage to never display, the error message disappear, but the pagination function doesn´t work any more.
    Where is the mistake I made?
    Greetings
    Michael

    Hello Ben,
    yesterday evening I read in short your answer, but today I can´t see your answer. Have you edited it again?
    My pagination function works fine and I would maintain it if possible.
    But now a new feature is requiered, which require a submit on the master page. The submit on the master page is not possible due to the hidden field on the loaded subpage, containing the page number for the pagination function.
    Using a normal text field (not saving state) works as long as the text field is visible (condiational view != never). But this information shouldn´t be visible to the user.
    I thought, perhaps a cleanworkaround exists.
    As dirty workaround I could place the information about the actual page number in the report themself (static invisible column). But as soon as the column is invisible (not shown), I have no access on this value
    With a normal hidden html-input-element (not a APEX-Item) in the report regions header of the subpage, holding the page number, I get a http 400 error on page submit.
    An I-Frame is not really a solution, because the master page contains several subpages, which should only be loaded and displayed on demand and not immediatly on page load.
    Greetings
    Michael

    Hi All,
    I fixed this issue.
    I used Skillbuilders modal popup plugin, to open the form page as popup when i edit the record.To implement this plugin i have already created dynamic action for edit ,create and autoclose the popup.
    In the dynamic action i changed the EVENT SCOPE from BINT To LIVE and tested the application.Now its working fine.
    I can able to edit the record after i hit the next/previous pagination link .
    Thanks ,
    Ramya.

  • Event handler when using partial page refresh ?

    Hi
    I have a calendar, which uses partial page refresh. The problem is how to make javascript wait until the calendar has loaded and then do some updates on the calendar (after the user has pressed the next button that runs apex.widget.calendar.ajax_calendar('S','next');, for example ). I thought I could add "onreadystatechange" (or onload) event handler to the calendar like this: onreadystatechange="checkState()", where the function would check the state and if ready then do the updates. This doesn't work. Could somebody please tell me why not ?
    Tiina

    Hi,
    It seems that ajax calendar missing event apexafterrefresh.
    I do not know is this "bug" or just feature.
    That event would be useful to your case , if I understand correct what you looking for.
    For workaround , you can over write original function by placing this to calendar region footer
    <script>
    apex.widget.calendar.ajax_calendar=function(p_calendar_type, p_calendar_action, p_calendar_date, p_calendar_end_date){
    var l_cal_type_field = $v('p_cal_type_field_id');
    var l_cal_date_field = $v('p_cal_date_field_id');
    var l_cal_end_date_field = $v('p_cal_end_date_field_id');
    var l_cal_id = $v('p_calendar_id');
    var l_calendar_region = 'calendar' + l_cal_id;
    if ( p_calendar_type != 'C' ){
      $s(l_cal_date_field,$v('p_calendar_date'));
    }else{
      if ( $v(l_cal_date_field) == '' ) {
       $s(l_cal_date_field,$v('p_calendar_date'));
      if ( $v(l_cal_end_date_field) == '' ) {
       $s(l_cal_end_date_field,$v('p_calendar_end_date'));
    // create and apex.ajax.widget object
    var a = new apex.ajax.widget('calendar',function(){
      /* start the return function */
      if(p.readyState == 1){
       document.body.style.cursor = "wait";
      }else if(p.readyState == 2){
      }else if(p.readyState == 3){
      }else if(p.readyState == 4){
       $x(l_calendar_region).innerHTML = p.responseText ;
       $s(l_cal_date_field,$v('p_calendar_date'));
       if (p_calendar_type == 'C') $s(l_cal_end_date_field,$v('p_calendar_end_date'));
       document.body.style.cursor = "";
      /* DO HERE THINGS AFTER CALENDAR REFRESH */
      }else{return false;}
    // code for next,previous and today
    if (p_calendar_type == 'S'){
      p_calendar_type = $v('p_calendar_type');
    }else{

    a.ajax.addParam('x01',l_cal_id);
    var lDate = (!!p_calendar_date && p_calendar_date !== '')?p_calendar_date:$v(l_cal_date_field);

      var lendDate = (!!p_calendar_end_date && p_calendar_end_date !== '')?p_calendar_end_date:$v(l_cal_end_date_field);
    a.ajax.add(l_cal_date_field,lDate);
    if (p_calendar_type == 'C') a.ajax.add(l_cal_end_date_field,lendDate);
    a.ajax.addParam('x02',lDate);
    if (p_calendar_type == 'C') a.ajax.addParam('x05',lendDate);
    a.ajax.add(l_cal_type_field,p_calendar_type);
    a._get();
    </script>Where I have comment *"do here things after calendar refresh"*, you can hook own scripts.
    Of course this is not best way, but might help you till ajax calendar support dynamic actions fully

  • Page item value set in app process not maintained after page submit

    Hi -- I have a sequence of events that goes like this:
    1) Page 0 region REG_1 is rendered before footer
    - Region REG_1 uses javascript / AJAX to call App process PROC_1
    - PROC_1 sets Page1 item PAGE1_MESSAGE to X
    - After PROC_1 executes successfully, REG_1 does doSubmit()
    2) Page 0 region REG_2 is rendered before footer; this happens
    after the page submit done by REG_1. (Conditions ensure that
    REG_1 is not rendered again)
    - Region REG_2 displays PAGE1_MESSAGE (=X) in an alert.
    - Region REG_2 uses javascript / AJAX to call App process PROC_2
    - PROC_2 sets Page1 item PAGE1_MESSAGE to Y
    - PROC_2 sets Application item DEBUG to PAGE1_MESSAGE (this is for debugging)
    - PROC_2 sets Application item APP_MESSAGE to Y (this is also for debugging)
    - After PROC_2 executes successfully, REG_2 does doSubmit()
    3) After REG_2 submits the page, here's what I have:
    - Application item APP_MESSAGE = Y. Good. This is what it was set to in PROC_2.
    - Page 1 item PAGE1_MESSAGE = X. Bad. This is what it was set to in PROC_1.
    - Application item DEBUG = Y. Good. This at least shows that PAGE1_MESSAGE was
    set to Y within PROC_2... but for some reason that value is not being preserved
    after the app process is done executing.
    - There are several other application items set in PROC_2, and they're all correct.
    Any ideas as to why this is happening? It seems like this should be
    pretty straightforward: set the value, submit the page, the value should be what
    I set it to.
    Thanks,
    Carol

    Hi -- Thanks for the suggestions. First and 3rd (default value, or being overwritten by process or computation) aren't happening. The source for PAGE1_MESSAGE having is Always, Using app item PAGE1_MESSAGE... but I don't see what else could work here. Not sure if that's the problem.
    I've put an example on apex.oracle.com. Workspace is dew_mir_tor. Username is [email protected]. Password is Mir97Dew77!Tor. Application is 22679, RefreshAllTest.
    To reiterate the description in my original posting, but using the real application item/region/process names:
    0) Press Button REFRESH_ALL on Page 1. This branches back to Page 1.
    1) Page 0 region Refresh_All is rendered before footer
    - Region sends up an alert to show you it's working
    - Region Refresh_All uses javascript / AJAX to call App process REFRESH_CZAR (You'll see a "wait" window flash up briefly while the app process is running)
    - REFRESH_CZAR sets Page1 item P1_MESSAGE_1 to X (The text here indicates where
    the value is being set and when it should be displayed)
    - After REFRESH_CZAR executes successfully, region Refresh_All does doSubmit()
    2) Page 0 region Refresh_Non_Czar is rendered before footer; this happens
    after the page submit done by Refresh_Czar. (Conditions ensure that
    Refresh_Czar is not rendered again)
    - Region sends up an alert to show you it's working
    - Region Refresh_Non_Czar displays P1_MESSAGE_1 in an alert.
    - Region Refresh_Non_Czar uses javascript / AJAX to call App process REFRESH_NON_CZAR (You'll see a "wait" window flash up briefly while the app process is running)
    - REFRESH_NON_CZAR sets Page1 item P1_MESSAGE_1 to Y (The text here indicates where
    the value is being set and when it should be displayed
    - REFRESH_NON_CZAR sets Application item TEST_VALUE2 to P1_MESSAGE_1 (this just shows that P1_MESSAGE_1 was indeed set to Y in this process...)
    - After process REFRESH_NON_CZAR executes successfully, region Refresh_Non_Czar does doSubmit()
    3) After Refresh_Non_Czar submits the page, Page 0 region Display_Messages is rendered.
    It sends up an alert so you can see it's working, and then it displays the value in P1_MESSAGE_1.
    The value is still the one that was set in REFRESH_CZAR, not the one set in REFRESH_NON_CZAR.
    Note that Display_Messages sets P1_MESSAGE_1 back to null, so you won't see it in session state after it's displayed in the alert. But you can see that TEST_VALUE2 is set to the message from REFRESH_NON_CZAR.
    Hope this helps solve the problem!
    Thanks,
    Carol

  • JSF: partial page rendering is causing memory leak leading to outofmemory

    JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0
    JDK: 1.6.0_06
    Operating System: Windows XP.
    I test my application for memory leaks. For that purpose, I use jconsole to monitor java heap space. I have an edit page that has two dependent list components. One displays all countries and the other displays cities of the selected country.
    I noticed java heap space keeps growing as I change country from country list.
    I run garbage collection and memory usage does not go down. If I keep changing the province for 5 minutes, then I hit a java heap space outofmemory exception.
    To narrow down the problem, I removed the second city component and the problem still exists.
    To narrow it down further, I removed autosubmit attribute from the country component and then memory usage stopped increasing as I change country.
    country/city partial page rendering is just an example. I am able to reproduce the same problem on every page where i use partial page rendering. My conclusion is PPR is causing memory leak or at least the autosubmit attribute.
    This is really bad. Anyone out there experienced same issue. Any help/advice is highly appreciated !!
    Thanks

    Samsam,
    I haven't seen this problem myself, no.
    To clarify - are you seeing this behaviour when running your app in JDeveloper, or when running in an application server? If in JDeveloper, a copuple of suggestions:
    * (may not matter, but...) It's not supported to run JDev 10g with JDK 6
    * have you tried the [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/masterj2ee/j2ee_wk11.html]memory profiler

  • ADF Faces : simultaneous partial page rendering

    hi
    I'm wondering what I can expect from "simultaneous partial page rendering".
    I would like to have some af:selectOneChoice components on a page, with next to them some related information about the selected value.
    This example application, created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0, does this using partial page rendering (check README.txt):
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/SimultaneousPPRApp-v0.01.zip
    It as a pprPage.jspx with these components ...
              <af:panelPage title="pprPage">
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:commandButton text="some button"/>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="requestCounter.value = #{requestCounter.value}"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:selectOneChoice label="selectOneChoice A"
                                      id="selectOneChoiceA" autoSubmit="true"
                                      binding="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceA}"
                                      valueChangeListener="#{backing_PPRPage.onChangeSelectOneChoiceA}">
                    <af:selectItem label="null value label"
                                   value="#{null}"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="first choice label"
                                   value="first-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="second choice label"
                                   value="second-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="third choice label"
                                   value="third-choice-value"/>
                  </af:selectOneChoice>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceARelatedValue}"
                                 partialTriggers="selectOneChoiceA"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:selectOneChoice label="selectOneChoice B"
                                      id="selectOneChoiceB" autoSubmit="true"
                                      binding="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceB}"
                                      valueChangeListener="#{backing_PPRPage.onChangeSelectOneChoiceB}">
                    <af:selectItem label="null value label"
                                   value="#{null}"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="fourth choice label"
                                   value="fourth-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="fifth choice label"
                                   value="fifth-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="sixth choice label"
                                   value="sixth-choice-value"/>
                  </af:selectOneChoice>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceBRelatedValue}"
                                 partialTriggers="selectOneChoiceB"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:outputText value="userAgentHelper.info = #{userAgentHelper.info}"/>
              </af:panelPage>... and has a backing bean like this ...
    public class PPRPage
         public String getSelectOneChoiceBRelatedValue()
              return "some " + fSelectOneChoiceB.getValue() + " related value"
                   + ", requestCounter.value = " + ELHelper.get("#{requestCounter.value}");
         public String getSelectOneChoiceARelatedValue()
              return "some " + fSelectOneChoiceA.getValue() + " related value"
                   + ", requestCounter.value = " + ELHelper.get("#{requestCounter.value}");
         public void onChangeSelectOneChoiceA(ValueChangeEvent pValueChangeEvent)
              // simulating a slow operation/response
              try
                   Thread.sleep(2000);
              catch (InterruptedException ex)
                   ; // ignore;
         public void onChangeSelectOneChoiceB(ValueChangeEvent pValueChangeEvent)
              // nothing here to slow things down
    }It is important to note that changing the value for the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox has some time consuming operation to perform (possibly calculating/querying the related information to show next to it).
    Using IE 6 ("userAgentHelper.info = ... MSIE 6.0 ..."), this behaves like this:
    (ie-1) Run pprPage.jspx in JDeveloper, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [null value label] some null related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [null value label] some null related value, ...(ie-2) Select "first choice label" from the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox and immediatly after that select "fourth choice label" from the "selectOneChoice B" dropbox, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [first choice label] some first-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some null related value, ...(ie-3) Select "second choice label" from the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [second choice label] some second-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some fourth-choice-value related value, ...Using Firefox 2.0 ("userAgentHelper.info = ... Firefox/2.0.0.12"), this behaves like this:
    (ff-1) Do the same as in step (ie-1), which has the same result as step (ie-1).
    (ff-2) Do the same as in step (ie-2), which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [first choice label] some first-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some fourth-choice-value related value, ...
    questions:
    (q1) Why does the related information, for the selected "fourth choice label", not show up in step (ie-2) (as it does in step (ff-2))?
    (q2) Why does the related information, for the selected "fourth choice label", show up in step (ie-3) while the value was only/already changed in step (ie-2)?
    (q3) Does some general approach exist to prevent "simultaneous partial page rendering" behaviour as described in (q1) and (q2)?
    many thanks

  • ADF Faces : partial page rendering in f:subview

    hi
    Please consider this blog post, "ADF Faces: How-to issue a PPR event from a f:subview and how-to PPR of subviews" :
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2008/02/14/adf-faces-how-to-issue-a-ppr-event-from-a-fsubview-and-how-to-ppr-of-subviews/
    In this post, Frank Nimphius writes : "... PPR from a containing page to the subview - unfortunately - only works for the whole subview, which means that the included page is getting refreshed. Because the f:subview component does not support PR, you need to work with a wrapping ADF Faces container, like af:panelGroup ...".
    But, it looks like such partial page rendering in a subview can be done without a specific "wrapping ADF Faces container" like this ...
            <h:form id="firstPPRPageFormID">
              <af:panelPage title="firstPPRPage">
                <af:panelHeader text="components on firstPPRPage">
                  <af:panelForm>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                                     partialTriggers="firstSubviewID:firstSubviewCButton"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <f:facet name="footer">
                      <af:commandButton text="firstPPRPage button"
                                        id="firstPPRPageCButton"
                                        partialSubmit="true"/>
                    </f:facet>
                  </af:panelForm>
                </af:panelHeader>
                <f:subview id="firstSubviewID">
                  <jsp:include page="/firstSubview.jspx" flush="true"/>
                </f:subview>
              </af:panelPage>
            </h:form>... and where firstSubview.jspx contains something like this ...
      <af:panelHeader text="components on firstSubview">
        <af:panelForm>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                           partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <f:facet name="footer">
            <af:commandButton text="firstSubview button" id="firstSubviewCButton"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
          </f:facet>
        </af:panelForm>
      </af:panelHeader>Note the value ":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton" for the partialTriggers attribute.
    see http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/PartialPageRenderingInSubview-v0.01.zip (check README.txt)
    questions:
    (1) Why exactly does this approach seem to work?
    (2) Because of question (1), what could be potential issues with this approach?
    regards
    Jan Vervecken

    Jan,
    good job ! I actually never thought of reversing what I said about PPR'ing a component from a subview.
    Actually
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    works because the leading ":" makes ADF Faces to start the component search from the root container. Note that if you use af:form instead of h:form, the trigger is
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    I'll update my blog
