Pass parameter to a iView

Hi all,
I have an URL iView that points to a ASP page. I need to pass parameters to the ASP page through the iView.
For example, I want to call:
http://../portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES:myiview&param1=value1
The iView has to include my "param1" to the ASP page, but it doesn't include it.
Any ideas?

Ok, lets try other solution
Create AppIntegrator iView and in the URL Template field define the next string: "http://search.tut.by/?query=<query>"
After that run your iVIew with the query parameter:
http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://pcd:portal_content/test_appintegrator/generic1&query=blabla
You will see that the value of the "query" parameter passed to the site.

Just some info: Portal is basically what the end user can see. What he can do, is still maintain in the backend system. If there are parameters setup already for the user in the backend system (in SU01), then those parameters should still valid for the transaction that the parameters are linked to.

Hi,
While you are performing portal navigation from WD iVew (using navigateAbsolure() or navigateRelative()) to Transaction iview in that call itself you will get one of the parameter as business parameter. You could set the application parameter during portal navigation.

Pass parameter to all iViews in a portal role

Hi,
we have a portal role containing several iViews for ABAP Web Dynpro applications. Now we want to assign the parameter sap-wd-lightspeed=X to all these applications. Is it possible to do this in the portal application and can the customer set it off if they want to?
One idea is to define a dummy iView with this parameter set in property Application Parameters, and define all iViews as delta-links of this dummy iView. But we have some iViews which need their one Application Parameters.

Passing Parameter to a direct called iview

Hello,
i call an iview with http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=.....
Then i also want to pass to the called iview an additional http-parameter like id=XXX by adding '&id=XXX to the link, but the result is always a javaNullPointer.
Any hints?

OK, that's more than you described initially. Sure this does not work. If you call the link from the generated email, a request is sent to the portal, including your additional parameter(s). An URL-iView now will init a second request to the URL defined in the properties of the iView - no reason why your properties should get sent with.
What you could do is to extend the URL iView functionality to get all parameters from the request of the call to the (modified) URL-iView and to pass them beneath the things described in the iView properties.
Alternatively you could write a proxy before the URL-iView and call this instead of the URL iView. Imagine you know that the URL-iView has got two parameters, than you could delete all additional parameters, add the parameters that you find within the request and redirect to this changed URL iView. The only thing you have to care of is to do this in a personalized way. Anyhow, also with this concurrent access problematic would stay if the same user calls two of these iView "at the same time".

How to pass parameter to a callable object made of transactional iview ?

Hi All,
       I was trying a simple scenario of executing a SAP transaction during a process.This is how i prceeded:
         1.I created one Transactional iview.Its working fine.
         2.Then created one callable object out of this iview taking some input        parameter which are required during transaction execution.
         3.I included the callable object in a process.
               Now if i execute the process then it shows me the screen to give the
input parameters.But i give the input parameters,it simply opens the transaction.It
doesn't run the transaction with given inputs.
                I guess there are some more steps required for interfacing so that
parameters can be passed to the transactional iview for execution.
                  Can anyone help me out.

How you start application? I think you send message to webservice(BPEL process is webservice too). So construct message with variable and value.
But I created only processes where input value doesn't matter. I haven't use mapper yet too.

Can we pass single / multiple parameter(s) from the Iview to the Webdynpro Component ? I mean we are calling a WD Component by executing its application from the Iview. In that process, is there a way we can send some parameters to the WD component from the Iview ? If yes, please let me know how.

It is possible to pass parameters from portal Iview to WD component. For that there is one property of Iview called
Application Parameters
You can pass value like this:
parameter1=value1 &parameter2=value2

Pass parameter to WD abap iview via Portal link

Hello all,
I have created one WD ABAP application and I am accessing the same with the help of URL parameters. I am retrieving these URL parameters in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler of the application window.
Now client wants to access the same with the help of NavigationParameter so I created relevant iView in portal and I am accessing application using link which is composed of portal link and NavigationTarget parameter.
My question, If I want to pass application parameters via URL, How do I access the same in my window. Do I need some sort of separate mechanism to take the URL parameters to my application window when application is running on portal?
Please share your thoughts on this.

Thanks for your document but still my problem is not solved. I will try to explain my problem in detail.
I have developed one WD application and I was accessing the same using link suppose
http://newdomain.abc.com:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zwda_url_parameters?pernr=12345&name=test1&sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
I was retrieving the values of of pernr and name in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler by adding two parameters as PERNER and NAME. and it is working fine.
Now this application is running on portal. and I am accessing the same using URL
http://<server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content//myFolder/myRole/myWS/myPage
but as i want to pass above mentioned parameter (pernr and name) via link, After an investigation, I am thinking to use of Dynamic parameter. So my link will become like
http://<server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content//myFolder/myRole/myWS/myPage&DynamicParameter="pernr=12345&name=test1"
So, my question is , how I can access these values specified in DynamicParameter in my WD abap iView. Whether they are available in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler using method wdevent->get_data?
I don't want to pass my parameters using iView property "Application Parameter."
Please give some inputs on this. Also Please guide me whether I can use some other way to achieve this. but the thing is, i must want to pass the values via URL only.

Pass parameter through standard page "import xml content and actions"

Dear Portal experts,
As you know, a standard portal page is configured to allow the import of XML file. It is located in the portal in the path system admin -> transport -> xml content and actions -> import
I configured a quick link u201Cimportu201D to the page so now the link http://myserver:port/irj/portal/import allows me to access directly to this screen.
What I would like to do now is to pass the parameter related to u201Cfile nameu201D through this screen meaning that I would like that http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/filename=C:\test.xml fills automatically the fields u201CXML fileu201D with C:\test.xml
Please do you know how to achieve this ?

When user launch an URL like http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/*filename=C:\test.xml, he is requested to provide username and password; as this link is a shortcut for the upload xml page, there is a check of authorization and only portal admin that have authorization and permission on this page/iview will be able to upload xml file through the URL. Hope this clarify.

What a pity to not be able to pass parameter through standard portal page/iview particularly knowing that we can pass paramater through many kinds of iviews (transactional iview, url iview, VC iview...). I explored some option on file com.sap.portal.ivs.init.par but this was unsuccessful. However, thanks to this [link bellow|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/ComponenttouploadXMLfilewithPCD+objects], I was able to upload through URL the XML file.
The problem is that I can upload only XML file that are stored in the server not in the local user computer. My requirement is to be able to upload local XML file stored on user's computer.
If someone could provide and idea/solution, I would be very grateful.

try this....
Create a abap webdynpro application, here you can call the RFC function module as a supply function
get the data from the function module and display it on the webdynpro view
convert this webdynpro to a iview and attach this iview to the portal page.( this is just a few steps process)

Close browser window on click - pass parameter

I have two applications (iViews) in the portal, one passing parameter to the other. On click of 1st iView, it passes parameters to 2nd iView, which opens as a separate window in portal. I need to select some values in it and on clicking OK, some parameters should be passed to the 1st IView and the window must be closed. The parameter must be made available in the 1st Iview, by autorefreshing.

Pass paramenters from WDJ iView to Transactional iView

Hi All
I have a scenario where I need to pass the parameters from webdynpro Java iView to Transactional iView. We are implenting LSO and for a Manager role we deployed the MSS BP to access "Employee Search" iView. I created a transactional iView for transaction LSO_PV00. Created a page with these two iViews. Now the page will show the employees list for that manager and T iView. When I click the employee name, is there a possibility to set the employee's personal number in the input field of the transaction iView?
I am not sure will this be possible withou any code changes, but just wanted to have the input from SDN before coming to conclusions.

you can pass the screen field of transaction uisng Application Parameters property of the transaction iView.
To know the parameter to be passed,
Press F1 in the input field and Click on Technical Information Icon at the top,then screen field name is the paraameter name to be passed for transaction.

Pass HOST to URL iView

Hi Portal Knowledgeable Ones.
I have a question about a "URL" type iView.
I can not "hard code" a target URL. The HOST portion of the URL needs to be variable. As an example, in test mode, I want the URL to be www.testserver.com/help. In live mode, I want the URL to be www.prodserver.com/help.
He is my question. How do I pass a parameter to this iView so that it know which HOST to use?
