Pass parameter to portlet from jspx page

Hello guys, i have one question about portlet. Curently i have 2 application, 1 weblogic portal application and 1 portlet producer application. Both project was successfully setup. I already put 1 portlet created in the portlet producer into 1 page in the weblogic portal application. The problem is, how can i pass parameter from weblogic portal page (which i call the portlet) to the portlet. Thank you

Hi,
worth checking the WebCenter forum as both products seem to belong there: WebCenter Portal

  • Portlet event link to pass parameter between portlets

    Ok list, I followed the documentation Adding Parameters and Events to Portlets
    PDK Release 2 (9.0.2 and later) and tried to make a portlet that pass parameter to another portlet using event link. I created the supposed parameter in the page and made the correct association to the receiving parameter portlet. The case is: The parameter is not caught in the receiving parameter page.
    This is my event link jsp code:
    <%
    String sImgPath = PropertiesReader.getProperty(PropertiesReader.KEY_IMAGES_PATH);
    PortletRenderRequest portletRequest = (PortletRenderRequest)request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    // The portlet definition in provider.xml includes the following:
    // - Event "submit" with event parameters "funcionalidade"
    String eventSubmit = EventUtils.eventName("submit");
    String eventParamFuncionalidade = EventUtils.eventParameter("funcionalidade");
    // Build up the list of parameters for the "submit" event
    NameValuePair[] eventSubmitParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    // Give the 'funcionalidade' event parameter the constant value 'chat'
    eventSubmitParams[0] = new NameValuePair(eventParamFuncionalidade, "chat");
    // The event name must be passed as a parameter on the URL
    eventSubmitParams[1] = new NameValuePair(eventSubmit, "");
    %>
    <TABLE CELLPADDING="0" CELLSPACING="0" BORDER="0">
    <TR><TD><a href="<%=PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(portletRequest,   portletRequest.getRenderContext().getEventURL(), eventSubmitParams, true, true)%>"><IMG SRC="<%= sImgPath + "menuButChat.gif" %>" BORDER="0"></a></TD><TR>
    </TRABLE>
    And this is my receiving parameter jsp code:
    <%
    String sFuncionalidade = "";
    PortletRenderRequest portletRequest = (PortletRenderRequest)request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    // Get the portlet definition - needed to get the public portlet parameters
    PortletDefinition portlet = portletRequest.getPortletDefinition();
    // Get the public portlet parameters
    ParameterDefinition[] parameters = portlet.getInputParameters();
    // Display all values for each of the public portlet parameters
    for (int currParameter = 0; currParameter < parameters.length; currParameter++)
    String name = parameters[currParameter].getName();
    out.println(" <p>name = " + name + "</p> ");
    // Get the parameter values
    String[] values = portletRequest.getParameterValues(name);
    // Display the parameter's values.
    if ( values == null )
    // Null array indicates no values for this parameter.
    out.println(" <p>values i null</p> ");
    else
    out.println(" values nco i null ");
    // Loop through each of the values and display non-null values on a separate line.
    for ( int j = 0; (values != null) && (j < values.length); j++ )
    sFuncionalidade = values[j];
    out.println(" <p>" + sFuncionalidade + "</p> ");
    %>

    Where do I miss ???
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Leandro.

    Leandro,
    Few things which you might want to cross check to see if we are
    on the right track :
    1. Page containing Parameter receiving portlet contains a
    paga parameter mapped on to its public parameter.
    As per your example, parameter receiving page should have a page
    parameter with name - "funcionalidade" - and portlet's corresponding
    parmeter should be mapped to this page parameter. This can be
    done through "Parameters" tab in the Page Properties screen.
    2. Page containing Parameter passing portlet contains proper event
    mapping.
    As per your example, we have an event called "submit". We should
    be able to see "submit" event under "MenuColaboracao" portlet.
    When this event is raised, select which page should receive the event
    data. As soon as a page is selected, this page's public parameters
    are displayed below. Beside that we must be able to see a choice box
    which displays four choices one of which would be "Event Output".
    Map this output to the event parameter.
    Hope it helps.

  • Passing sysdate in milliseconds from OAF page to PL/Sql proc

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement wherein I need to pass SYSDATE in milliseconds from OAF page to the PL/SQL package.
    Basically I will be calling a PL/SQL api from AM . So here I need to pass SYSDATE in milliseconds as one of the PL/SQL proc parameters.
    How do you I go about this ?
    Any help is aprreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

    get the current database date by
    oracle.sql.date currentDate=OADBTransaction's method getCurrenctDBDate ()
    (OADBTransaction object can be obtained from AM Object itself).
    Now you may convert this currentDate to java date object.
    currentDateObjAsJavaDate=currentDate.toDate()
    now miliseconds (since1970, I remember so, please see documentation) =currentDateObjAsJavaDate.getTime();

  • How to pass a value from jspx page to the managed bean

    hi,
    i have created a jspx page and manages bean with page flow scope..
    in my jspx page i am searching a employee record from the data base . and getting entire employee details including 'status' as a search result.
    here i want to pass the value of 'status ' field to the managed bean variable called 'stval'.
    can anybody suggest any solution?.......

    As per the details provided in the post above, when the user clicks on the search in the af:query, the results are populated in the table. And you are interested in getting the value of particular column. This could be done by having the custom row selection listener to get the value of the current row (selected row in the table).
    1) Have a custom selection listener:
    <af:table value="#{bindings.EmpDeptVO.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.EmpDeptVO.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.EmpDeptVO.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.EmpDeptVO.rangeSize}"
    rowBandingInterval="0"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1"
    partialTriggers=":::qryId1 ::ctb1 ::commandToolbarButton1"
    columnStretching="column:c1"
    styleClass="AFStretchWidth" columnSelection="multiple"
    first="0" contentDelivery="immediate" autoHeightRows="10"
    binding="#{pageFlowScope.ExampleBean.searchResultsTable}"
    *selectionListener="#{pageFlowScope.ExampleBean.rowSelected}">*
    2) In the method, set the current row programmatically:
    ADFUtil.invokeEL("#{bindings.EmpDeptVO.collectionModel.makeCurrent}",
    new Class[] { SelectionEvent.class },
    new Object[] { selectionEvent });
    3) Get the current row and get the required attribute values and set it in any of the variables in the managed bean:
    Row selectedRow =
    (Row)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.EmpDeptVOIterator.currentRow}");
    String status = selectedRow.getAttribute("Status");

  • Passing parameter value back from Child region [BTF] to Parent

    Hello,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6. I have a use-case where I need to pass value back from child taskflow to parent.
    Let me elaborate the use-case:
    I have a main page which is implemented as BTF with fragment. This main page contains a child region [again a BTF with fragment].
    I am passing a parameter value from parent page to it's region using taskflow input parameter. Now value for one of the parameter changes inside child/region taskflow and I need to make this value available to main page taskflow.
    This parameter is just pageFlowScope variable, so basically not coming from any VO.
    I know that taskflow can return value via return parameter but I don't know if that is true for taskflow implemented as region in a page.
    Is it possible to communicate the pageFlowScope variable value from child region to it's parent page?
    Thanks,
    Jai

    Hi Frank,
    I tried to follow steps mentioned in your post but encountered error that "The scope of the referenced object #{viewScope.parentBeanName} is shorter than referring object childBeanName"
    Let me explain what I did:
    1. Created a bean parentBeanName in viewScope
    2. Created another bean childBeanName in pageFlowScope
    3. In ChildBean.java, created a private property parentBeanProperty for Class [ParentBean] and generated the accessors
    4. Created a input parameter in region TF as:
    <input-parameter-definition id="__28">
          <name id="__27">parentBeanParam</name>
          <value>#{pageFlowScope.childBeanName.parentBeanProperty}</value>
          <class>ParentBean</class>
          <required/>
    </input-parameter-definition> 5. Since my mainPage contains child page as region. I added parameter to mainPageDef to pass it to child TF, like this
    <parameter id="parentBeanParam" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
                       value="#{viewScope.parentBeanName}"/>6. Introduced a client method in childBeanName that is called from UI. There I am retrieving parentBeanParam instance from pageFlowScope and call setter method of my variable inside ParentBean.java
    7. Ran the page but encountered the error.
    Did I miss something somewhere?
    Initially I got error where #{viewScope.parentBeanName} returned NULL due to parentBeanName not instantiated. I created a variable in mainPageDef with it's default value pointing to #{viewScope.parentBeanName.variableName}, which I guess will instantiate the bean in viewScope.
    After this I got error of shorter scope. It never reached to code in Step 6 during execution cycle.
    FYI - My application is based on UIShell and essentially a one page application. Main page referred above is also a jsff based on BTF. I hope, this should not affect this implementation but I thought of at least mention it.
    Thanks,
    Jai

  • Passing field value to a jspx page

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 and JHeadstart 10.1.3.0.91.
    We have a situation like:
    Table: POSITION
    Fields: POSITIONCONTROL_NO (PK)
    BUSINESSUNIT_CD
    EFF_DT
    EXP_DT
    BUDGETCAT_CD
    Table: POSITIONBUDGET
    Fields: POSITIONCONTROL_NO (PK)
    FISCAL_YR (PK)
    POSCAT_CD
    EFTS_UNIT
    TEACHING_UNITS
    GL_OBJECT_OVERRIDE_CD
    BUDGETCAT_CD
    POSITIONBUDGET is a child table of POSITION.
    When we create a record in POSITION, POSITIONCONTROL_NO is generated automatically from a seq no by a trigger in the database.
    For POSITIONBUDGET we have a table-form layout. In POSITIONBUDGET_table.jspx page we put a button "New".
    What this "New" button should do is:
    1) It should go to a page (e.g. POSITION_insert.jspx) where we can create a record in POSITION table.
    This new position record will have a seq-generated primary key in the POSITIONCONTROL_NO.
    2) The next step is to proceed to the POSITIONBUDGET_insert.jspx where we can create a record in POSITIONBUDGET table
    using the POSITIONCONTROL_NO field passed from .
    table-form form form
    POSITIONBUDGET_table.jspx --> POSITION_insert.jspx -> POSITIONBudget_insert.jspx
    For (1) and (2), we created insert only pages (POSITION_insert.jspx, POSITIONBUDGET_insert.jspx) following the documentation you described in
    JHeadstart Developers Guide, chapter 3 section "Build Insert Only Screens" which works individually. But we could not pass the newly generated POSITIONCONTROL_NO to POSITIONBudget_insert.jspx.
    We know that we can create a link for POSITIONBUDGET under POSITION and create records from there.
    Actually we have group like that already. But we want to have the functionality of the workflow shown above.
    Could you please let us know:
    In POSITION_insert.jspx, how can we redirect to POSITIONBUDGET_insert.jspx by clicking the "Save" button
    which should also pass the newly generated POSITIONCONTROL_NO to POSITIONBUDGET_insert.jspx ?
    Thanks

    This is not really JHeadstart related, rather ADF Business Components. But it seems to me that there are several things you can check:
    If you run the ADF BC tester, and create a new Position row, is the generated PositionControlNo visible in the tester (after saving)? You might want to check out the DBSequence attribute type, described in the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/toc.htm).
    Then, in the tester, if you go to PositionBudget (as a child VO of Position), check if the foreign key attributes to Position are automatically filled in when you create a new PositionBudget. This could be a matter of defining the right ViewLink, and defining PositionBudget as a child of Position in the Application Module.
    Other default values you want to be automatically created, can be coded in the create() method of the EntityImpl class.
    Hope this helps,
    Sandra

  • OAF: passing parameters to report from OAF page and running concurrent prog

    Hi Everyone,
    i have an OAF page with 10 fields after filling those fields i need to press "Submit" button.
    On pressing Submit button 5 parameters i have to pass to the xml publisher report to run the concurrent program and display the output in pdf format.(Out of 10 fields on the page the first 5 fields will be passed as parameters)
    How can i pass parameters from OAF page to the report(concurrent program)?
    and how can i call concurrent program?
    and how can display the output of the report in pdf format after calling the concurrent program?
    Any answers will be really useful...
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks.

    Hi kumar ,
    XML report will generate output in PDF format , first you need to try generating report separately , manually submit
    the concurrent program and make sure every thing goes well .
    Once the above step is done you can try to submit the concurrent from controller class . The submitRequest method
    will return the request ID of the concurrent program .
    Now with the help of this request ID you can redirect the page to Oracle standards Request Page( you can monitor
    the status of concurrent program and view output ) this can be done with the following piece of code
    String url = "OA.jsp";
    parameters.put("akRegionApplicationId", "0");
    parameters.put("akRegionCode","FNDCPREQUESTVIEWPAGE");
    String id = "" + return_reqId + "";
    parameters.put("requestMode","DEFERRED");
    parameters.put("requestId", id);
    pageContext.setForwardURL(url,null,OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT,null,parameters,true,OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_NO ,OAWebBeanConstants.IGNORE_MESSAGES);

  • How to Pass Parameter/Value to the second page????

    Hi,
    I am trying to display same popup window when I click on ADD,UPDATE and VIEW buttons. I don’t have any problem in displaying the popup when I click on ADD and UPDATE button but with VIEW button I wanted to display the popup at read only mode. In order to do that I have created a bean with session scope and set a ‘SetActionListener‘on VIEW button and set ‘from’ property to true and ‘to’ property to "#{IndividualSummaryDetails.readOnlyAddress}". I could not pass the value of readOnlyAddress to the popup. How can I pass the value of readOnlyAddress to the popup?
    This value becomes true when I click on view button. If I pass that value to the popup then I can set the read only property of the fields on the popup with that value. So that the fields become read only.
    Here is my View button
    <af:commandButton text="#{CoreProperties['Global.commandButton.View']}"
    windowHeight="450" windowWidth="600"
    useWindow="true"
    action="dialog:FromIndividualSummaryDetailsToAddress"
    id="justView">
    <af:setActionListener from="#{true}"
    to="#{IndividualSummaryDetails.readOnlyAddress}"/>
    Here is my Bean
    public class IndividualSummaryDetails {
    private Boolean readOnlyAddress;
    public IndividualSummaryDetails() {
    readOnlyAddress = true;
    public Boolean isReadOnlyAddress() {
    return readOnlyAddress;
    public void setReadOnlyAddress(Boolean readOnlyAddress) {
    this.readOnlyAddress = readOnlyAddress;
    This value becomes true when I click on view button. If I pass that value to the popup then I can set the read only property of the fields on the popup with that value. So that the fields become read only.

    We need to use portlet events for sending parameters across different pages.

  • Pass Parameter between Portlets

    I have two reports, one each in their own portlet. Portlet(A) is a summary, Portlet B is the container for the report detail.
    I need to know how to create a link and pass a variable from portlet A to portlet B.
    1. Can this be done?
    2. How?
    3. Is a wizard available to configure this?
    Thank You.

    Thanks Jerry
    I've tried out your code and it works, though amongst other things I had to change the pageid of 117 to my specific pageid. This means the report processing is specific to the page I create it for.
    I'm glad to see you've now included the idea of accessing l_arg_names and l_arg_values via pl/sql code maintained in the wizard. This is much better than modifying generated code.
    The piece of code to generate the full argument name
    p_reference_path| |'.dept', wwv_30898.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(nvl(get_value('dept'), 10))will be useful though I've had no problems yet with my technique of just ignoring the reference path components of the argument name.
    My current technique is to create a form on a dummy procedure and process some pl/sql on the submit button:
    args.store_arg_in_session('session_ppn',
    p_session.get_value_as_varchar2(
    p_block_name => p_block_name,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_P_DUMMY'
    ));Once I've stored a value in "session_ppn" I can access that value in any report I like with code like this
    args.set_arg_if_null
    (l_arg_names,l_arg_values,'ppn',
    nvl(args.get_arg_in_session
    ('session_ppn'),'unknown'));In this case ppn is a bind variable in the sql statment.
    Then, the report will access the session variable wherever you run it, regardless of what page you put it on etc.
    I've tried similar techniques with forms but I can't get the form to re-access the session variable when the latter changes its value.
    However the ability to set and get session variables and access them in reports is very good. It greatly reduces the amount of keying required by users. Portal would be much less useful to me without it.
    I must admit I'm very impressed with Portal and with the support for it via this discussion.

  • Pass parameter to form from webpage?

    Hi guys,
    I'm aware that you are able to pass parameters between forms using CALL_FORM (using parameter list).
    Is it possible to pass parameters to a form from the webpage?

    i am trying to pass the parent_id as a parameter to a portal page but am not able to... i can add it to the list of in parameters to the PL/SQL based parent id but when i add the parent id to the url then i get no result... i created a custom attribute for the parent id since there is no attribute build other then page group and page id... when I set the Parent ID attributes default value in the attribute properties of the item type based on PL/SQL it just brings back results for the default value and if i pass a different value for ithe parent id i dont get the correct result I get the result for the default parent id.
    I am using the followin url to pass the parent id
    http://localhost:7778/portal/page?_pageid=76,87832&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&parentid=22223

  • Passing Parameter to Report from a JSP

    <p>I have a report which calls a Oracle stored procedure which requires some  IN parameters. These parameters need to be passed from the JSP. For this scenario if someone has some sample code please post it.</p><p>Thanks.<br /></p><p>&#160;</p>

    <p>In the scenario you described the report that connects to the stored procedure will automatically require parameters so they can be passed to the stored procedure.</p><p>Here is a link to a sample that passes a parameter to a report at runtime using BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2:</p><p>http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/1018 </p><p>Rob Horne<br /><a href="/blog/10">Rob&#39;s blog - http://diamond.businessobjects.com/blog/10</a></p>
