Pass Values to Edit Form thru Query String and Save in List

I have developed a custom Edit form from SharePoint Designer and I am passing values thru Query String as below;
http://<>/cli/acc/Lists/GIInfo/testEdit.aspx?ID=262&com=POD_Send
And, user supposed to save the form directly without changing the values came thru Query String as below.
Now, issue is, when user saves the form, values is not getting saved. It saves when we change the value in text box or when we do a text change event in form. Becasue data binding says Text Change even in data binding property.
__designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff22',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Actions')}"/>
Kindly guide me what is the issue, or correct approach to do that? I want to pass values to Edit Form thru Query string and save in List without changing those.
-Rajesh A.

I know this is late, but i found a very good solution on this post and credit goes to the author.
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/4be1be38-0663-4b80-8f28-45f38f98f9d0/sharepoint-designer-2010-custom-newformaspx-data-in-textbox-fields-dont-save-on-submission?forum=sharepointcustomizationprevious
The issue was resolved by changing the textbox values,
<asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" Name="Title" Text="" Value="{$Destination}"  __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}">
instead of
<asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" Name="Title" Text="{$Destination}"  __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}">

  • Pass values to other forms

    Hi Guys!
    My Problem is to pass values through call forms to another form. There are two ways I had done it before. First:global variables.
    Second library spec with variables in in, then call forms share library data and the calles form uses the same library. The second way is descriped by Oracle Corp., too.
    Do you know another, better way, or do I have to make one of this better? What's the best way? Thank you very much

    You can build and pass a parameter list. Look at the help for CALL_FORM for details (I think you'll see an example there of how to use it).

  • How to pass value between two forms.

    Hi all,
    how to pass value between two forms(using :parameter),...
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    To use parameters, create a parameterlist with the named parameters
    DECLARE
      pl_id PARAMLIST;
      pl_name VARCHAR2(10) := 'tempdata';
    BEGIN
      pl_id := Get_Parameter_List(pl_name);
      IF not Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
        DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST(pl_id);
      END IF;
      pl_id := Create_Parameter_List(pl_name);
      ADD_PARAMETER (pl_id,'MYPARAMETER',TEXT_PARAMETER,:BLOCK.VALUE);
      CALL_FORM('MYNEWFORM', NO_HIDE, DO_REPLACE, NO_QUERY_ONLY, pl_id);
    END;In the new form you can then just access the parameters via :PARAMETER.MYPARAMETER;
    An alternative is the usage of globals:
    :GLOBAL.MYPARAM:=:BLOCK.VALUE;
    -- call the emp-form
    CALL_FORM('MYNEWFORM', NO_HIDE, DO_REPLACE);and in the new form use:
    DEFAULT_VALUE(NULL, 'GLOBAL.MYPARAM');
    IF :GLOBAL.MYPARAM IS NOT NULL THEN
    ...The advantage of gloabls is that they can also return values back to the calling form, which is not possible using parameters

  • Not able to edit assets in Illustrator/Photoshop and save over existing assets in Edge animation

    Not able to edit assets in Illustrator/Photoshop and save over existing assets in Edge animation to update image changes. Has Adobe changed this capability with new releases? Does this mean to update an asset on the Edge animation timeline, you have to copy and paste all the animations of that old asset over to the new imported asset?

    Hi, CamShazam-
    You should be able to save over existing assets in the images/ folder, then close and reopen the file.  The other option is to save your assets and then use the swap image option in the properties panel.  Is this what you're talking about?  Thanks,

  • How can I import photos from iPhoto-library to edit in Photoshop CC? - and save it back to the iPhoto-library?

    How can I import photos from iPhoto-library to edit in Photoshop CC? - and save it back to the iPhoto-library?

    How to access iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
    1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
    2. Control-click the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
    3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
    Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
    4. Control-click the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
    5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
    6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop.
    7  Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.

  • How to prevent end user to create a Query View and save back to BW Server?

    Dear All :
    Do Someone know that how to setup authorization for Bex Query View Creation? We want to prevent end user to create a Query View to save back to BW Server his favorite folder. when our user run Bex Query, he can base on this query and use Bex Analyzer's save function to save a Query View and save into his favorite folder.
    My question is :
    1. Can we set up a Authorization to prevent end user to save Bex Query View?
    2. Or can I remove Save function from Bex Analyzer to prevent end user use save function, But Developer should not to be prevent .
    Thanks for all of your kindly response.
    Best Regard
    Lawrence Kuo

    Hi.
    Yes, you can do it like you outline in your point 1):
    You need to use the authorization object S_RS_COMP for this. This object let's you control what parts/components of a query the user can do stuff to. So, in your case, you need to have a role for the users, where you do not grant create-access to the component QVW, and then you need another role for developers, where you grant full access or whatever you need for your developers.
    See [this post|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a6c54319-0e01-0010-20a4-fb81ad32f330?QuickLink=events&overridelayout=true&5003637661135] and the [SAP Help entry|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/80/1a6859e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/content.htm].
    You will also need to use the authorization object S_RS_COMP1. If you already have a productive system with users doing reporting, both objects will be maintained in one of the roles already.
    You also want to consider using the object S_RS_PARAM to allow users to create variants for the variabel screen.
    Good luck.

  • Passing a portlet parameters on the Query String

    Hello,
    We have a portal page with a portlet on it and would like to be able to make this portlet dynamic by using additional parameters on the portal url query string.
    Back in version 5, I was told that this couldn't be done. Perhaps someone knows whether the G6 portal supports this?

    Yes, you can pass portal url into porlet in G6.
    1. You have to check box "HostPageURI" (don't remember exactly, but close to this one) on User Information page for Web Service.
    2.Use getHostPageURLQueryString() method (for IPortletRequest) to retrive QueryString value;
    3. Parse url value manualy to access parameters and values.
    But think twice before do this. This is because there are more effective ways to pass data and "make portlet dynamic":
    1) Portlet Settings (classic way, total page refresh);
    2) Adaptive portlets techology (inline refresh, passing data to other portlets on the same page);
    3) Portal Session object (for G6). Way to pass data to portlets placed on different page.

  • XSl formula for pulling values based on parameters or query strings

    Hello,
    I have a custom list in SharePoint
    List Column/Fields (any time a new item is created these are the fields that need values)
    Machine = ID2
    SpecLabel = text string value
    SpecValue = text string value
    Using DataFormWebPart
    I Filter values by Machine by creating a parameter with a query string as its source.
    And pull the values
    <xsl:value-of select="@SpecLabel" />
    <xsl:value-of select="@SpecValue" />
    On the browser I add the parameter to the URL sting to filter each machine ID.
    ?=Machine=1
    Back in the XSL i use the same parameter to pull the value of the string as my header title.
    <xsl:value-of select="$paramMachine"/>
    Problem
    I need a formula that will pull just the the SpecValue data for a specific item.
    Example: I have thee items below and I need to just pull the “SpecValue” for the Built Year which is 2014.
    Machine = 1
    SpecLabel = Speed
    SpecValue = 10
    Machine = 1
    SpecLabel = Color
    SpecValue = Red
    Machine = 1
    SpecLabel = Built YearSpecValue = 2014
    Any Suggestion?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to the formula to filter a list item.
    You can create the formula similar like below.
    <xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[@City = 'Abington']"/>

  • Passing values to sub-forms  (Varaible scoping)

    I have a "parent" form that calls one of 6 subforms. I'm trying to figure out how to pass values derived in the parent to a sub form.
    I am running IdM 8.1.0.9 in glassfish 2.1.1. I set up these test forms to work through this:
    my Parent Form:
    <Form name='parent' objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=parent&objectPath=0&isBegin=true'>
      <Display class='EditForm'/>
        <Include>
          <ObjectRef id='#ID#UserForm:child1' type='UserForm' name='child1'/>
        </Include>
        <!-- This value needed in child 1 form -->
        <defvar name='myvalue'>
          <s>test123</s>
        </defvar>
        <Field name='myfield'>
          <Expansion>
            <ref>myvalue</ref>
          </Expansion>
        </Field>
    <!--  My attempt at using <Variable>, IdM doesn't like this
        <Variable name='myextvar' external='true'>
          <ref>myvalue</ref>
        </Variable>
    -->
        <FormRef name='child1'/>
    </Form>
    my Child1 Form:
            <Form name='child1' objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=child1&objectPath=0&isBegin=true'>
                <Display class='EditForm'/>
    <!--
               <Include>
                    <ObjectRef type='UserForm' id='#ID#UserForm:parent' name='parent'/>
                </Include>
    -->
                <Field name='subtext'>
                    <Display class='Text'>
                        <Property name='title'>
                            <concat>
                              <s>pre1:</s>
    <!--
                               <FieldRef objectLocationID='objectType=UserForm&objectName=marty&objectPath=0&isBegin=true' name='myvalue'/>
    -->
                               <ref>myvalue</ref>
                              <s>:1post</s>
                            </concat>
                        </Property>
                    </Display>
                </Field>
            </Form>I was hoping that child forms would share the scope of the parent, and I could just use a <ref> tag in the child form, but that doesn't seem to work. So I started looking at FieldRef/FormRef but I'm not sure they are the right answer either.
    When the include in the child form is uncommented, I get :
    An unrecoverable error has occurred processing the request. Contact your system administrator.
    Syslog ID = LG-0405-115539.
    I'm guessing that this is because I include a form that includes this form, and created an endless include loop?
    When the FieldRef is uncommented, I get this error:
    Attruibute "objectLocationID" must be declared for element type "FieldRef".
    The <Variable> tag (defined as external) looks promising, but I haven't run across a good example of how to use it.
    When I try to add a <Variable> to my parent form, I get the error: Content of element type "Form" must match...
    This doc: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-5821/bvaex?a=view
    says that <Variable> is a valid form element, but IdM disagrees.
    Any suggestions on how to achieve the passing of values from one for to another would be greatly appreciated.

    An advice I usually follow: Skip defvars and variables, and stick to fields, hidden, not using any Display class that is, if you just need to use the field as an variable. Field are a lot more practical IMHO.

  • Passing value from Portal Form as parameter to portal report

    I have a portal form that I have created using the custom form layout editor to build/modify the display of the form. When I run the form and I have a record queried I would like to be able to click a link and pass the value of a field as a parameter to a portal report. For example, lets say I have a field on my portal form called assignment_id, and after I query a record assignment_id equals 1. I would like to use the value 1 from assignment_id as a parameter to a portal report. I am not sure how to reference the value of a form field, can this be done within the header, body or footer of the custom layout editor? Or can I somehow reference the value of a form field from the Additional PL/SQL Code section?
    Has anyone tried this with success? Any info is appreciated.
    Regards
    Mark

    Hi,
    You can get the values of the variables from the session variables. Here is an example which gets the value of the field FLIGHT_NO and passes it on to a report.
    While accessing the value of a field you should prefix it with "A_" (A_FLIGHT_NO)
    declare
    flightno number;
    blk varchar2(10) := 'DEFAULT';
    begin
    flightno := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2(
    p_block_name => blk,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_FLIGHT_NO');
    call('SJDEMO30.report1.show?p_arg_names=flightno&p_arg_values='||flightno);
    end;
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

    This string i am passing to a stored procedure.
    The string which contains id seperated by commas like(string a='100,101,102,103')

    I think he meant the global namespace.
    You set a :global_your_name_here to a value and that value is available in your entire application. See the help file section on the global namespace for more information.
    Forms parameters are parameters that you form picks up from the outside when it starts. The calling entity must supply them in the URL or they will be set to null. You set them up in the object navigator in the Parameters node.
