Passing file name to the field

Hi,
i have a file to jdbc interface.
I have a requirement of passing the timestamp from the file which i pick from the sender side and pass this to one of the field at the receiver side...can someone help me in doing this,
your help would really be appreciated.,
thanks

Hello,
I have a requirement of passing the timestamp from the file which i pick from the sender side and pass this to one of the field at the receiver side...can someone help me in doing this,
You can use a UDF(simple Type) for your requirement. Here is the code
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(u201Chttp://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Fileu201D,u201CFileNameu201D);
String filename = conf.get(key);
Return filename;
You can use string manipulation for getting the timestamp from the filename e.g substring. Also make sure that in your sender communication channel, the Adapter Specific Message Attributes are checked for FileName.
Hope this helps,
Mark

    You may be confused by the error in Excel saying “another user”. Actually Excel cannot tell who (the real human) is editing the file. Based on my research the No.1 possibility of the error is KB2626998.
    2626998  Connection to a network document is lost in the 2007 Office system or in Office 2010 after the computer resumes from standby
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2626998
    For Excel 2010, follow these steps:
    a.  Click Start , click Run , type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK .
    b.  Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options
    c.  On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click Dword Value .
    d.  Type NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then press Enter.
    e.  Right-click NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then click Modify .
    f.  In the Value data box, click Decimal , type a number value, and then click OK .
    Note This registry subkey sets the time, in seconds, that Excel waits for the network to resume. For example, if you type 15 for the number value, Excel waits 15 seconds for the network to resume. You might have to do some tests in your own environment to
    determine an appropriate value. You may have to try multiple numbers.
    g.  Locate and then select the following registry subkey.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\office\14.0\common\Internet
    h.  Repeat step 2C through step 2F again. Reuse the same value that you used previously.
    i.  Exit Registry Editor.
    Feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Passing file name variable to the save as dialog

    Hi:
    I have an event listener that checks if the user has selected the file/"save as" menu and brings up another dialog window asking for some additional information about the client and job. I would like to pass a variable from this custom dialog to the file name field in the standard Save As dialog.
    Anybody have an idea how I can do this?
    I am using inDesign3 on Windows XP. I am using VB for the scripting.
    thanks!!
    Dan

    Hi: thanks for looking at it.
    Actually, I am not calling the save as in my script, the user is clicking on Save As and the event listener I have in the start up folder is picking that up. The event listener calls up a script that asks users to fill in a couple of fields about the specific job and once they do that and click ok, the default inDesign "save as" dialog is brought up. So that is my question -- how to pass the information from my dialog to the standard "save as" dialog (as the file name of the file).
    The event listener is of the beforeInvoke on the Save As... menu.
    Any idea?
    thanks!!

  • How to pass the local file name to the workflow in TC OAWD

    Hi everybody!
    I have to pass the local file name of the image as a parameter to a workflow in TC OAWD.
    By debugging I found the FM which starts the workflow -  'ARCHIV_PROCESS_FAXINPUT' . It has two importing parameters : FRONTENDPATH and BASICFILENAME, but they are not used by calling the FM.
    Do you have an idea if there is a DDIC table, which contains the local file name or another way to solve the issue.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    Not sure of what you want.
    Have a look at v$session view. Machine column is maybe what you're looking for.
    If you want to retrieve the local host executing remote desktop, it's actually not possible natievely, since it's still remote host that is connecting to the database.
    Hope it helps.

  • Is there a way to pass archive file name to the command-line control?

    Hi there,
    I have been researching the flash media live encoder laterly. But still cannot find confirmed anwsers on the following questions:
    1. Is there a way to pass an archive file name to the command-line control when starting an encoder?
    2. Can the username/password to the Flash Media Server be saved in the profile? If not, is there any otherway to provide(GUI mode) them automatically,
        like as variables to a script?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Helen

    1. The only way to inform the command-line encoder about the archive file name is to save the FMLE session profile with the file name. The node for saving the file name is <output><file><path>C:\sample.flv</output></file></path>. The easier way to update the xml profile is to use "Save Profile" option of the GUI mode. If you want to programmatically update the file name, read the profile and update the node before launching the encoder. I hope this answers your question.
    2. No. Credentials can't be saved in the profile. The only way to provide them programmatically is to use /ap and /ab commands for the command-line encoder. For GUI mode, there is no programmable option. But still you can try capturing keystrokes.

  • Pass the text file name to the command prompt using servlet

    hi to all,

  • Include Flat file name as a field in the PSA / DSO.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to include the Flat file name also in the DSO which is used for loading the data from a flat file source. I have created a new infoobject for File Name in the DSO. Can you guide me from which table I can get this information.
    I was thinking of reading this information from the table which stores the file name in a routine in the transformation to the DSO.
    I came across the table RSLDPSEL, it stores the Infopackage name and file name. But this does not work when I am using the same infopackage to load multiple files. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hari.

    Hi,
    The main challenge is to get the Technical name of the infopackage in the transformation ( field routine) from PSA (Datasource Source) to DSO for the Filename info object.
    Is there any table which stores the Infopackage and the corresponding data target information in BI 7.0 sothat I could use the field routine in transformation to get the Infopackage ID based on the data target (DSO) ?
    Once I have the technical name of the Infopackage, my logic is to query the RSLDPSEL table and find the file name based on Infopackage ID.
    Please share your thoughts on how this scenario could be realised.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Hari

  • Dynamic File Name - Suppress the Substitue varible

    Hi All,
    I am doing the scenarios like File name at the recevier end would be dynamic for that i take an extra field NAME mapped with UDF which return the file name dynamically. It is working fine and doing good. But the problem here is , this field is the first field in my target structure so i am getting an empty line in the target file.
    So My structure as follows:
    <b>MT_BNK01           1..1
      NAME                1..1
      RECORD             0..Unbound
          --Record_data  0..Unbound</b>
    So in the recever side i written as follows
    Recordset Structure:: RECORD
    <b>RECORD.fieldSeparator = 'nl'
    RECORD.endSeparator = 'nl'</b>
    But according to this weblog i can suppress the empty line but it is not working
    /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12
    means, NAME is also in the same level of RECORD in the Structure. So How can i pass the structure as ??
    I tried to pass the RecordSet Structure: NAME,RECORD
    and following parameters, it is not working
    <b>NAME.fieldFixedLength =0
    NAME.fieldLengthTooShortHandling = Cut</b>
    Can you please  suggest me what could be the reason. Tell me what information i need to pass the RecordSet Structure and attrubute information also.
    One more thing like, My sender side it is not picking the empty lines. What could be the reason. I given fieldSeparator and endSeparator as 'nl'. So to catch the empty line what i need to do???
    Thanks in Advance,
    Best Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijaya,
    This can be solved. Actually i had the same scenario where i was getting blank line for the header. Suppose Header was carrying the file name after i cut the value i would get a blank line in file.
    So i added in content conversion parameter the following line
    Header.endSeparator - '0'
    then the first line was not blank.
    Try this, i think your issue will be solved

  • UDF to capture the source file name or the source folder for mapping

    Hi All,
    i have 2 files -  File1 from File2 from 2 different folders- single comm channel FTP (FCC). i have to pass a constant A and B respectively to a field in target structure.
    my options are -
    either create a new field in source str populating different constants and  then map to the target str
    or a udf to get the source file name or the source folder so that i can map the constant using the value mapping/FixValue mapping.
    please suggest. thanks.
    rajib

    Hi,
    please use the UDF to determine the file name. Then based on file name either pass A or B to your target field.
    The code is as given below. Just tweak the code to pass either A or B as per your requirement.
    public String G_GetFileName(Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String ourSourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    return  ourSourceFileName;

  • Want To Capture The File name Using the SQL Loader

    Hi,
    I Am loading The Data To Staging Table Using The SQL*developer, The File That need to be Loaded Will be One Of The Input To the SQL*Loader Concurrent Program.
    In One Of The Column Of My staging Table I want To Put The File name.
    Can We do the Same.
    thanks,
    Ankit

    Not unless you generate the loader controlfile dynamically.. try this.. pass file name as $1 first parameter. Use the below example and modify as per your requirement
    1) create table with following table structure
    create table temp_table (x varchar2(20),file_name varchar2(30));
    2) create data file - test.dat (contains only values for x)
    abc
    def
    geh
    ggg
    fff
    3) create a host file host file - test.sh with following content:
    echo "load data
    infile $1
    append
    into table temp_table
    fields terminated by ','
    (x,
    file_name constant "$1")" > test.ctl
    sqlldr <usr>/<pwd>control=test.ctl
    4) run the host file from unix prompt with data file name as parameter (ensure test.sh has execute permissions)
    test.sh test.dat
    Hope this helps

  • Programaticly changing the (suggested only) file name in the save prompt when signing a document?

    When you sign a document in Adobe X (or XI), the system says it needs to save the file first.   Is there some way to change the (suggested only) file name to a different value for that save?
    Right now, people open a blank form - lets call it formX.pdf.   They fill it in and sign it.  The suggested file name for the save is FormX.pdf.   I can generate a unique file name which i'd like to put in place of the suggested default...

    AFAIK, you can't do it with code. Your best option might be to use a form field to show a message to the user when they sign the document with that information.

    Hello Ram,
    Execute the function module BBP_PROCDOC_ITEM_GETDETAIL by providing the item guid,object type . Now it will populate the  et_attach importing parameter with the attatchement details.
    In the ET_ATTATCH internal table , the field PHIO_FNAME/PHIO_PATH_FILE provides the physical storage location of the document.
    Hope this info will be helpful.

  • Get File name of the inbound file during mapping

    Scenario: to read the file name of the inbound file (which has date required for the mapping) during runtime.
    The requirement is to read the date of the inbound file (passed to the XI pipline by the file adapter) and populate the same in the outbound mapping structure.
    Any idea about how to do this?
    (I went through few options of using java.util.map. not successful yet)

    Hi Anand,
    I posted the same question a time ago, without any help....
    Can I find out the full filename of input file in message mapping?
    Posted: Nov 23, 2004 1:00 PM
    I have in XI 2.0 the following scenario :
    In the inbound fileadapter I read my input file. The filename of the input file is part fixed, part variable (Like INDATA01.txt, INDATA03.txt, etc).
    So in my Adapterconfiguration, I specify the filename with a wildcard (INDATA*.txt).
    What I now want to do, is in my Message Mapping use the full filename , so I can do something different for every filenumber. Is there a way where I can get the full filename available in my message mapping (I did not find the filename in the XML in the message trace).

  • Should the web page address be included in the file name in the meta data dialog box?

    In the page properties > meta data > below is a field with the label file name: (the the area to type in the field), after the field, it is labeled .html.
    I have 2 questions here.
    1. If I type in http//:www (my page url), do I include .html at the end? I didn't know if this is automatically added because it is off to the side of the field?
    2. If I type in the entire URL address: http//:www (etc, etc).html,    after closing the page properties dialog box, I make it a habit to double check my work. What happens is the http//:www.xxx changes to (htttpwww.xxx). It drops the //: on the URL.
    So would it be better to just type in www.xxx (without the http//:www.xxx)
    and do you type in the .html at the end?
    I am assuming this will help with SEO page ranking or at least makes it easier for the search engines to crawl your site??
    I hope this makes sense.
    Advise would be very helpful.
    Ben

    You are absolutely correct with the URL Ben. Taking your above example, you just need to type in "Services" in the file name and the webpage will be exported as services.html and the URl will be  www.xyz.com/services.html.
    All the webpages (be it parent page or child page) gets physically saved at the root directory of your website on the server (where your website resides).
    This name is just the name of the file using which it is physically stored and called from the server. It does not help search Engines to crawl deeper inside the website.
    As I explained, "name which you wants the .html file to be stored with" here means the name of the physical file which is getting saved on the server.
    Most users leave the file name same as Page name. If you have it different from page name then this will be the workflow :
    Page Name : About
    File Name : test
    domain : www.mysite.com
    Now if you are  using a Menu Widget, it will list "About" in the Menu. And when end user will click on "About" then it will call the file named "test.html" from the server location (where all the files of your website are stored).
    And it will open a page with address "www.mysite.com/test.html"
    Hope I am able to explain the concept of File Name here. Please let us know if you have further queries on this.
    Regards,
    Sachin
