Passing model instance between DC's

Hi everybody,
does anybody know how to use the same SAP R3 user rollarea for different models in different DCs?
I have a multitude of models callinc FMs in sap but i loose the roll area.
Help please
tom

hi amit,
my problem is not the simple passing of context within the public part. problem is that if i use a model within my dc that calls a fm in sap my roll area is initialized. that way a singleton class within the function group is cleared. i need teh data - otherwise i would have to pass everything through the frontend. and that would be a performance knightmare.
useing the same model instance would - as far as i know - enable me to use only one connection to the background (by setConnectionProvider) and that way the rollarea in R3 woul by intact.
any suggestion is appreciated
Tom

  • Model Instance Vs Model Object

    Hi experts
    can anyone plz explain me the difference between model instance and model objects. is it necessary to create model instance when dealing with WebService model.
    also tell me what do u mean by associating model objects.
    plz explain with reference to the following code :
    <b>public void wdDoInit() {
    //@@begin wdDoInit()
    // create a new model instance (1)
    model = new EmailAdWSModel();
    // create model objects (2, 3)
    Request_SendEmail requestMO = new Request_SendEmail(model);
    SendEmail emailMO = new SendEmail(model);
    // associate model objects (4)
    requestMO.setSendEmail(emailMO);
    // bind executable model object to context node (5)
    wdContext.nodeRequest_SendEmail().bind(requestMO);
    //@@end
    }</b>
    i found this on sample exercises given on sdn:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/301ff0bb-74ca-2910-fa99-eae392695aad
    can any one help me regarding this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi krishnan..,
                       To be brief , have a clear idea about model i.e., A model contains number of classes inbuilt in it which u could find after importing a model..
    You must create an instance to the model to access the classes in the model..
    similarly you create objects to the classes in the model to get it referenced..
    As u are used to object oriented programming, i hope u may have a good idea about classes and objects..
    An object is always an instance of a class..and u can never access a class without creating an object to the class..
    as in the coding which u have given..
    "model" is an instance of the model called EmailAdWSModel();
    then u create objects for the classes inside the model and then u access the attributes by referencing the objects of the class.
    hope u would be clear with this concept

  • Close, Hide, Move borderless window without passing Window instance MVVM Light

    Hi everyone,
    I'm now working with an app which is on MVVM Model, and I'm using MVVM Light to make that app . I wonder if I can close the current window and open another one without passing Window instance or not . I've seen a way which helps me to close the current window
    without passing the instance through MVVM Command :
    return new RelayCommand(() => Application.Current.Windows.Cast<Window>().Single(w => w.DataContext == this).Close());
    But what if I handle the MouseDown event, I have to use LinQ so many times.
    Can anyone help me please ?

    If you want to do something with a window without having a reference to it, you could send a message from a class using the Messenger and then subscribe to this message in the window class itself and close it or do whatever from there.
    public class CloseWindowMessage
    ViewModel:
    return new RelayCommand(() => { GalaSoft.MvvmLight.Messaging.Messenger.Default.Send<CloseWindowMessage>(new CloseWindowMessage()); } );
    Window:
    GalaSoft.MvvmLight.Messaging.Messenger.Default.Register<CloseWindowMessage>
    this,
    (action) => this.Close()
    Please refer to the following links for more information about how to use the Messenger in MVVM Light:

  • In BADi , How to pass the values between two Method

    Hi Experts,
    We have two methods in BADis. How to pass the value  between two Methods. Can you guys explain me out with one example...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sivakumar S

    Hi Sivakumar!
    Create a function group.
    Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
    Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
    In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

  • Finding "Default Logical System Name Model Instance" in DC Project

    Hi,
    While Creating an Adaptive RFCModel, one defines the
    Default Logical System Name for Model Instance & the
    Default Logical System Name for RFCMetadata.
    In which file can I find these settings at a later stage in the Project File Structure.
    Ofcourse, I can view them in the WedynproContentAdministrator under the Jco Destinations.
    But is there anyway to access them in the NWDS?
    Regards
    MK

    Hello MK,
    You'll find the Logical System Names of the JCo destinations in the file ".wdproperties" under the project structure.

  • Passing data parameter between SWF files

    Hello Xcelsius Gurus,
    Is it possible to pass data parameter between SWF files?
    If possible, how to achieve it?
    Thank you.
    Justine

    Hi,
    Thank you for the reference.  Little bit confused, please let me clarify.
    I do not understand how the receiver SWF receieved the data parameter and process.
    For example, I have a parent dashboard and a child dashboard.  In the parent dashboard, I have set up combo box to filter the data.  And I want the data that I have selected in combo box to the child dashboard.
    To do this, first I need to setup the flash variable at the parent dashboard to fetch the data I selected.
    After this, how to link this data to the child dashboard?
    Furthermore, after the child dashboard received the data parameter, I need this data to insert into the spreadsheet so I can filter the data.  Is this possible?
    Thanks.

  • Passing multiple parameters between two report portlets on the same page

    Hi,
    I want to pass multiple parameters between two report portlets on the same page.
    I have been succussful passing a single parameter between two portlets. The
    following are the steps :
    (1) Created first report based on the query
    SELECT htf.anchor('http://192.168.0.84:7778/servlet/page?&_pageid=97&_dad=portal30&_schema=portal30&_mode=3&dept_code='||DEPTNO,DEPTNO) Department, ename FROM EMP;
    (2) Created 2nd report
    select * from EMP where DEPTNO = :dept_code
    (3) Added pl/sql code before display page on the 2nd report
    portal30.wwv_name_value.replace_value(
    l_arg_names, l_arg_values,
    p_reference_path||'.dept_code',portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(nvl(g
    et_value('dept_code'),10)));
    (4) Created a page and added these reports as portlets.
    Sofar it works fine for one parameter (deptno) . Now I want to add one more
    parameter say empno to my first report query and would like to pass both the
    parameters deptno and empno to the 2nd report. Please tell me how to pass multiple parameters ?
    Thanks
    Asim

    Hi,
    You will have to do the same thing
    The select will be like this
    SELECT htf.anchor('http://toolsweb.us.oracle.com:2000/servlet/page?_pageid=97&_dad=mb&_schema=mybugs&_mode=3&dept_code='||DEPTNO||'&empno='||empno,DEPTNO) Department,ename
    FROM EMP
    In the additional plsql code do the same for empno like this
    mybugs.wwv_name_value.replace_value(l_arg_names,l_arg_values, p_reference_path||'.dept_code',mybugs.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(nvl(get_value('dept_code'),10)));
    mybugs.wwv_name_value.replace_value(l_arg_names,l_arg_values, p_reference_path||'.empno',mybugs.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(get_value('empno')));
    Thanks,

  • Trouble Passing URL Parameters between Applications

    Hi All,
    I am having trouble Passing URL Parameters between Applications for BW queries as data sources. I know I am getting the data from the sending application correctly, because I an printing to the screen using a Text Component.
    Date From: 1/1/2008
    Date To: 3/14/2014
    Here is the code from the sending application On Select :
    "http://localhost:56572/aad/web.do?APPLICATION=WIMO_SUMMARY_OPEN_DETAIL&designersessionid=37a1cfaa7e734cd9afa35cb4cd627d41" +
    + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT3") +
    + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT5"));
    Here is the code from the recieving application Global Script Variable"
    Xv_DateFrom     String     True
    Xv_DateTo         String     True
    Here is the code from the receiving application On Startup"
    DS_2.setFilter("0CALDAY",[Xv_DateFrom, Xv_DateTo]);
    When I click the results of the sending Application the popup window opens for the receiving application but I get all the records for the BW receiving query, it does not restrict to the values in ("ZPORDAT3") 1/1/2008 and ("ZPORDAT5") Date To: 3/14/2014.
    So, I would expect it is my receiving code, but I am not sure.
    Hope you can help?
    Norman

    Hi Norman,
    As Jörg said, please put "&" before each of your variable names at your url. For the second part,I didn't try it for date intervals but keep in mind just in case:
    APPLICATION.openNewWindow("http://localhost:56572/aad/web.do?APPLICATION=WIMO_SUMMARY_OPEN_DETAIL&designersessionid=37a1cfaa7e734cd9afa35cb4cd627d41" +
    "&Xv_DateFrom=" + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT3") +
    "&Xv_DateTo=" + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT5"));
    Here is the code from the recieving application Global Script Variable"
    Xv_DateFrom     String     True
    Xv_DateTo         String     True
    Here is the code from the receiving application On Startup"
    DS_2.setFilterExt("0CALDAY", {"low": Xv_DateFrom , "high " : Xv_DateTo});
    Best regards,

  • Is it possible to pass the idoc between the same client

    Is it possible to transfer the idoc between the same system. I do not have two clients . I have only one client access. Is it possible to pass the idoc between the same client.

    Hello Preethy,
    This would not be possible as when you have to create the logical systems, you cannot create two entries for the same client.
    And  while defining the partner profiles as well.
    IDocs are basically for two systems or two clients.
    YOu may not require IDoc in one system itself.

  • RFC metadata & model instance

    Hi,
    Could you explain why do we require RFC metadata & model instance in WD adaptive RFC model? What is purpose of these?
    Krishna.

    hi
    Rfc metadata and modeldata logical system destnations to connect to backend systems used in configuration of JCOs .
    we configure JCOs in ContentAdmin.
    Meta data is the Dictionary data thats why you find Metadata destination in Dictionaries of your project.
    Modeldata is the Application data,you can find logical system name of Modeldata in Properties of your Modelclass.
    So Model data destination will fetch actual data while metadata destination will contain description of the data.
    Regards
    sowmya.

  • Pass symbol instance name to variable

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to figure out how to pass the instance name (ID) of a clicked object to a variable so I can navigate to a label on the timeline with the same name.
    So far I've tried different variations of:
    sym.getSymbol() //logs as "undefined"
    sym.getSymbolTypeName // logs the symbol name in the library, not the instance
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    -Dave

    Sweet!
    That worked - Thanks! I ended up combining both your suggestions. on the button symbol i have
    sym.getComposition().getStage().onClick(e.target.id);
    and then after compositionReady I added a function to split out the second name and logged it to test;
    sym.onClick = function(targetId){
              var names = targetId.split("_");
              console.log(names[1]);
    Works perfectly! - Although it would be nice if the EA team could fix that functionality in future releases so e.target.id gives you just the id for the selected symbol. I would think if you can write something like getSymbol("mySymbol") it should be just as easy to get that name without all the extra (Stage...etc)
    Thanks again!
    -David

  • How to pass XML data between applications

    can any one tell me how to pass XML data between applications

    Steve,
    I tried the code in the http package in the Appendix A section of your book. Each time i try a POST I get a HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request error from the server. I can successfully do a GET from URLs. I have pretty much copied your code verbatim. Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • Passing custom events between modules through parent application

    I have created a custom event that I want to use to pass a string between two modules.  The event looks like this:
        package com.mypackage.events
              import flash.events.Event;
              public class ThumbDeleteEvent extends Event
                        public static const THUMBS_DELETED:String = "thumbsDeleted";
                        public var files:String;
                        public function ThumbDeleteEvent(type:String, files:String)
                        super(type);
                        this.files = files;
                        // Override the inherited clone() method.
                        override public function clone():Event {
                        return new ThumbDeleteEvent(type, files);
    In one module I dispatch the event like so:
        parentApplication.dispatchEvent(new ThumbDeleteEvent("parentApplication.thumbsDeleted", files));
    and in another module I listen for the event like so:
        public function init():void {
                        parentApplication.addEventListener("parentApplication.thumbsDeleted", onThumbsDelete);
    if I use ThumbsDeleteEvent as the type passed in to the listener function like this:
        public function onThumbsDelete(evt:ThumbDeleteEvent):void{
               trace("thumb delete event for thumbs: "+evt.files);
    I get the following error:
        TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert  com.mypackage.events::ThumbDeleteEvent@26748a31 to com.mypackage.events.ThumbDeleteEvent.
    if I just use Event as the type passed in to the listener function like this:
        public function onThumbsDelete(evt:ThumbDeleteEvent):void{
              if(evt is ThumbDeleteEvent){
                        trace("thumb delete event for thumbs: "+(evt as ThumbDeleteEvent).files);
              }else{
                        var type:XML = describeType(evt);
                        trace(type.toXMLString());
    It works but does not think it is a ThumbDeleteEvent type class (it hits the else statement) the xml output of describe type says its type is:
        type name="com.mypackage.events::ThumbDeleteEvent"
    What is going on here?  If I put a breakpoint in the debugger it says the event is a ThumbDeleteEvent and I can see the files parameter and its right???

    Sorry I have been trying all sorts of stuff and I cut and pasted the wrong version, I meant to put this:
    if I just use Event as the type passed in to the listener function like this:
        public function onThumbsDelete(evt:Event):void{
              if(evt is ThumbDeleteEvent){
                        trace("thumb delete event for thumbs: "+(evt as ThumbDeleteEvent).files);
              }else{
                        var type:XML = describeType(evt);
                        trace(type.toXMLString());
    Then it gets passed to the else condition (it does not recognize it as a ThumbDeleteEvent) and this is the output of the trace:
    <type name="com.helius.events::ThumbDeleteEvent" base="flash.events::Event" isDynamic="false" isFinal="false" isStatic="false">
      <extendsClass type="flash.events::Event"/>
      <extendsClass type="Object"/>
      <constructor>
        <parameter index="1" type="String" optional="false"/>
        <parameter index="2" type="String" optional="false"/>
        <parameter index="3" type="Boolean" optional="true"/>
        <parameter index="4" type="Boolean" optional="true"/>
      </constructor>
      <variable name="files" type="String"/>
      <accessor name="type" access="readonly" type="String" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <accessor name="bubbles" access="readonly" type="Boolean" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <accessor name="cancelable" access="readonly" type="Boolean" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <accessor name="target" access="readonly" type="Object" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <accessor name="currentTarget" access="readonly" type="Object" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <accessor name="eventPhase" access="readonly" type="uint" declaredBy="flash.events::Event"/>
      <method name="stopImmediatePropagation" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="void"/>
      <method name="preventDefault" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="void"/>
      <method name="isDefaultPrevented" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="Boolean"/>
      <method name="clone" declaredBy="com.helius.events::ThumbDeleteEvent" returnType="flash.events::Event"/>
      <method name="toString" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="String"/>
      <method name="formatToString" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="String">
        <parameter index="1" type="String" optional="false"/>
      </method>
      <method name="stopPropagation" declaredBy="flash.events::Event" returnType="void"/>
    </type>
    This causes a TypeError:
    public function onThumbsDelete(evt:ThumbDeleteEvent)
    This causes a null pointer error because myevent is null:
    public function onThumbsDelete(evt:Event):void{
         var myevent:TumbDeleteEvent = (evt as ThumbDeleteEvent);
         var files:String = myevent.files;
    Here is what I see when I put a break point in and debug it:
    I tried upgrading my event extender as you suggested, that had no effect.  I removed the dot notation in the type and it does the exact same thing I.E. dispatching class:
                                                 parentApplication.dispatchEvent(new ThumbDeleteEvent("thumbsDeleted", files));   or
            parentApplication.dispatchEvent(new ThumbDeleteEvent(ThumbDeleteEvent.THUMBS_DELETED, files));
    and receiving class:
         parentApplication.addEventListener("thumbsDeleted", onThumbsDelete);
    I really appreciate your help, I am baffled by this, I have tried everything I can think of for two days and I am ready to start throwing things.

  • How Do I Pass A Value Between two Spry Tabs?

    I am using the Adobe Spry framework to develop an webpage
    with 3 tabs. I want to be able to pass a value between tabs.
    More specifically...
    In Tab1, the user will click on a link that declares a
    variable called "groupID" with a value of "999"
    Tab 2 Should then open up and have "groupID" available for
    use. It will be used as a hidden form field.

    I think I get what your talking about.
    Thing to remember is that all the data is loaded on the same
    page still so you can just pass it over like you would using JS.
    I did a little example let me know if this is what you are
    looking for.
    You will see that I added a function at the bottom that will
    tell spry what panal to open as well as pass your "groupID" the
    function is call on the onclick even.

  • Passing Session info between servlets

    We are running WebLogic 5.1, sp 4 and Apache 1.3 on Solaris 2.6 and we are
              successfully proxying requests to the server. But we are unable to pass
              session information between servlets. We are NOT using URL encoding. We are
              instead using cookies. We believe our configuration is correct because the
              BEA example session servlet works. Does anyone have any recommendations or
              suggestions?
              Thank you,

    This is a basic misunderstanding of how Java Works:
    String name +r = request.getParameter(name +r);1) You can't use a + on the left part of an assignment operation - it must be a plain variable reference. This isn't like JavaScript where you have an eval(...) capability.
    2) Your Strings are being defined inside the For Loop, which means they will leave scope once the loop ends and you won't be able to refer to them anymore.
    3) Is there already a String value named 'name' which you are using in getParameters(name+r)? You should probably use getParameter("name"+r) instead.
    What you want to do is either put the values in an array so they are easy to access:
    String name[] = new String[value1];Then loop through the parameters to assign values:
    for(int r = 0; r< value1; r++) { //Start at 0 to value1-1 because arrays are 0 based.
      String nameParam = "name"+ (r+1);
      name[r] = request.getParameter(nameParam);Now I can access the names in order:
    name1 via name[0]
    name2 via name[1]
    name3 via name[2]
    etc...Before going any further I would stop working on Servlets and go back to some good Basic Java Tutorials and books until you get a better grasp of how the language works.
