Passing values to adapter

Hi
I have created an adapter and configured that adapter in a provisioning process. Process is supposed to send values to adapter but adapter gets NULL values from process.
I have configured it following way. Let me know if I am missing something.
1.) I have created a Process form which asks for few parameters.
2.) I have configured that process form with the provisioning process through table name of provisioning process.
3.) I have created an adapter which takes 4 inputs and returns long as a response.
4.) I have also configured 4 variables in adapter variables list which takes value at Runtime.
Now somewhere I need to map values process data that user will be asked for while provisioning resource to adapter data. And that needs to be done in process task definition under integration tab.
But I am not able to do so in the correct way.
Any help would be appreciated.
If you know any document which talks about creating and configuring adapters, That will also be great.

you can add flexibility by adding the module key parameters. Base the code as a reference where the author uses parameters configured in the adapter to be used to in the logic

Pass values dynamically to the WHERE clause in SFAPI

We have a requirement to pass values dynamically (in the run-time of the interface) to the WHERE condition to our SFAPI query.
Eg -
SELECT person, personal_information, address_information, phone_information, email_information, employment_information, job_information, compensation_information, paycompensation_recurring, paycompensation_non_recurring, job_relation, accompanying_dependent,         global_assignment_information, direct_deposit, national_id_card, person_relation
          FROM CompoundEmployee
          WHERE last_modified_on >= to_date('LAST_RUN_DATE') AND
                       last_modified_on <= to_date('CURRENT_RUN_TIME')
LAST_RUN_DATE is stored in a custom entity for which we execute another OData query. The custom entity is updated with the CURRENT_RUN_TIME once the interface has been executed successfully. So the next time the interface is run it picks up the LAST_RUN_DATE from the custom OData entity.
SAP PO has the functionality to run a dynamic query for OData adapters. Refer to Note 2051137 - PI Successfactors adapter : Dynamic odata query and single synchronous sfapi query
Eg - select fields from position (this is what you state in OData query path in the comms channel; this is static); and you have an advanced tab in comms channel where you mention dynamicquery and set it to true (this points to a XSD which has the keyword TOP, SKIP & FILTER in it).
This gets the filter values passed from the BPM from another query (from a OData cust_table).
So the whole query is - select fields from position filter field a = x field b = y etc. Field a field b are fields in position that are you passing values x and y in run time of the interface.
SAP PO also has the advanced tab feature for SFAPI for dynamic query.
Question is -
how to use it?
has anyone implemented this before?
What does XSD will look like?
How do we pass values to the fields to the Where clause for SFAPI.
Any ideas are welcome!

After you have added a new where clause on the detail VO, try re-executing VO's query by DetailVO.executeQuery()
If it doesn't work try re-executing the MasterVO's query after you have added the where clause on the detail

How to pass values at runtime in JDBC - XI - File scenario

Hi friends,
In my scenario, data is coming from R/3 and i need to filter records from oracle database based on this data. There are 4 database tables that need to be queried using 2 select statements. The resultset after the execution of query will be mapped to the target flat file structure.
here are my queries:
1) Can I avoid BPM as data needs to be collected from the two database calls which involves two sender JDBC adapter instances with only one target structure?
2) Can I use stored procedure in this scenario? If yes, than how to pass values to stored procedure at runtime via sender JDBC adapter.

Read the below line that is mentioned in the SAP help documentation fro Sender JDBC adapter:-
<i>Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.</i>
I dont think it can be achieved...but there must be some workaround for this. You can probably use a join statement.
Read this, again from the documentation:-
<i>The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs.</i>

I have a requirement where I have to pass few values from Adapter Module to RFC which will update the database table.
Example: I have to pass filename and filesize to RFC which will update the table X

Through UDF, you can access the Adapter Specific Attributes like File Name and pass the same to RFC.

Background Job pass value

Hi, I am calling a Background job in my program. I am using JOB_OPEN, JOB_SUBMIT and JOB_CLOSE FM to start a job. My need is to pass a value to the job program(job program doesnt have any selection screen values). Is their any way without creating variants each time to pass value to it.

You can first use JOB_OPEN which returns job number. Then build ranges or parameters to use SUBMIT to call the program.
Eg: SUBMIT RM06BB20 AND RETURN
      WITH S_EKGRP IN R_EKGRP
      WITH S_EKORG IN R_EKORG
      WITH S_FLIEF IN R_FLIEF
      WITH S_KONNR IN R_KONNR
      USER sy-uname VIA JOB w_jobname
      NUMBER w_job_number.
Now use JOB_CLOSE.

I think he meant the global namespace.
You set a :global_your_name_here to a value and that value is available in your entire application. See the help file section on the global namespace for more information.
Forms parameters are parameters that you form picks up from the outside when it starts. The calling entity must supply them in the URL or they will be set to null. You set them up in the object navigator in the Parameters node.

I am Automating STATSPACK reporting by modifying the sprepins.sql script.
Using DBMS_JOB I take the snap of the database and at the end of the day the cron job creates the statspack report and emails it to me.
I am storing the snapshot ids in the database and when running the report picking up the recent ids(begin snap and end snap).
From the sprepins.sql script

could it be the begin_ and end_ Colums of your query?
Seems SQL*PLUS hs parsing problems?
try to fetch another column from that table
and see if the error raises again.

Í have a scenario where i need to pass value from Crystal Report to a Business view's parameter.
Eg : CurrentCEUsername (func in crystal report)-- gives login user which i should pass to parameter in a Business view (used in the same report).

I guess you got the picture wrong. User_id is not a report_level parameter .
In Data Foundation, below query is used..
select Acc_Number, Account_Group,User_id from Accounts where user_id={?User_id}
where in {?User_id} is the BV parameter...
The Filter was a solution. But it takes long time to Query all the data from DB and then filter at BV level.
How do i pass the CurrentCEUsername to {?User_id}
Value should ve CurrentCEusername always. so that query will be
select Acc_Number, Account_Group,User_id from Accounts where user_id=CurrentCEusername
It will restrict the data pulled from DB to BV .. right?

I am trying to test usage of f4 help function module.
We want to dynamically pass values from remote machines into the given input parameters of a Given Search help and receive the output into a table (no dialogs required .. so no pop ups )
I wrote a test program to just test if we can really do that at runtime ?
This program pops up the window of search help First I want to surpress that window and Second I have no clue
( How to pass the input parameters as value eg. 20 to a given field as we pass manually )

Or do you want to read one int from the array and assign it to an int variable? This is how you read the first one,

Did you write the perl program? Can you change it? Or are you trying to interface to something that already exists? This will limit your options, of course.
Anyway the first option is simple. The java program does this:
System.out.println("This is a line of input.");The perl program does this:
while(<>)and in that block, $_ is assigned to each line of input.
Then you can invoke both like this:
$ java MyJavaProgram | perl MyPerlProgram.pl

In the line editor, specify the table field arguments enclosed by '&' symbol as follows:

Save -> Activate.
In the Print Program, specify following code:
