Password Restriction

Hi,
I have a reqmt where in material Master after change in material the QA approal should be done.
For that QA approval i have developed a report program where the report fetch the material number that has been changed.
From this report the user will click the button Select approval then a pop will prompt to give the password.
This password field i took it from structure RSYST and field BCODE, butit is accepting only 8 char even as per documentation it is explained.
But i need to pass more than 8 chars.
Could anyone suggest me, what can be for thsi.
Thanks

Hi Suhas,
You can create a custom Z table with 2 fields User ID, and other for password field ( custom can be more than 8 characters).
Then you can map the things with standard table/structures SY

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

  • Xmii login password restrictions

    Hi,
We want to make xMII login password more secure by putting length restriction, special characters etc.
We are using xMII 11.5.3 b66, please advise how to put password restriction if it is possible with this xMII version.
    Thanks and Regards,

You would need to use another mechanism to provide your authentication, such as LDAP, which can be configured in LHSecurity.

If you've been backing up your iPhone with iTunes the following guide can help you extract the files from that backup and get the restrictions passcode - but Apple made a change that prevents this from working but it still works on older backups if you have one:

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

  • Password restrictions

I need to change the password restrictions of portal. How can I do this? I'm currently doing a migration and the users from the old application do not have any restrictions. I need to migrate all the users into OID with their passwords. I'm currently having errors saying that they need to have a numer in their passwords. Also, they do not need to have an expiration in their password.
    Thanks

    Hi Marcleo,
You may change the Password Syntax using the Password Policy Management facility in the Oracle Internet Directory. You can try this :-
    1. Start the Oracle Directory Manager from the home of the iAS Infrastructure
    2. Login as the OID administrator, i.e. orcladmin
    3. Click on the + on the left of Password Policy Management
    4. Click on your password policy ( the realm password policy ) to change the settings on the right pane
    5. Click on the Password Syntax tab.
    6. Change the " Minimum Number of Characters of Password " or/and the " Number of Numeric Characters in Password " to the values you need.
    7. Click on the "Apply" button to save the changes.
You can also get more information about " Password Policy Management " in the OID Admin Guide here :-

  • NetWeaver 7 Password Restrictions

    Hi All,
I have looked through some past threads and the SAP Notes and I found quite a bit of information on password restrictions and the such. However I haven't found anything specific to accepted characters?
Are there any special character restrictions etc??

If you are referring to NWAS ABAP 7.x the answer is: no - there are no restrictions (except the [hard-coded password rules|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/d2/141fb593c742b5aad8f272dd487b74/content.htm]), use can use all Unicode characters (if you are having a Unicode system, otherwise you should restrict yourself to ASCII characters since those are available in all codepages / logon languages).
Only if you set the profille parameter login/password_downwards_compatibility = 5 then profile parameter login/password_charset is of relevance (see posting of Julius Bussche).
    Regards, Wolfgang
PS: the table of "forbidden passwords" is called USR40 and is still in use.

  • How many times can I enter the wrong password restriction?

I set restrictions on my iphone to disable some apps and save battery. Unfortunately i set it a year ago and I've used it forgotten the password and now I cannot remember it.
I tried to type the password but i did twice failed passcode, i wonder how many time i can enter the failed passcodes before my iphone will be locked forever.
    Please help me
    THANK YOU!

If you've forgotten the password, the number of times that the device will accept an invalid password is irrelevant.
Do as the manual says, restore the device using the computer it normally syncs with and restore as new.  Restoring from backup will not remove the restrictions passcode.

  • Password restricted access for published Groupwise calendar

    Hello,
we want to publish our internal calendar. But I want to prevent, that everyone who knows the link-address has access to this calendar.
So I tried to add the LDAP-authorisation to the /etc/opt/novell/groupwise/calhost/gwcal.conf as described in Novell-doc 7000659.
But the access to the (for testing) published calendar is still open for every who knows the link-address.
Another directory I published from the same apache2 with the same entrys in the config file in /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/xxxx.conf works fine, if the user wants to get access, he has to login with his uid/password.
Is there another way to restrict the access to the public calendar via LDAP as described?
    Thanks for your help,
    Holger

For example NetIQ Access Manager would be one option to handle this problem.

    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • HT201304 If you set restrictions to on for your ipad or iphone & you set the password restriction to immediately for in-app purchases will it ask you for your password every time you make a purchase over a certain time period or just the first time you us

I am setting restrictions on my iphone and my ipad for my four year old son as he somehow purchased an app for $99 unbeknowst to me.
Does anyone know if you set your restrictions to ON, there is a setting that is called "Require Password" and there are two choices to choose from
"immediately" or "15 minutes". What I want to know is if my son asks me to purchase an app that costs $1 and I let him purchase it. Be entering my passcode
will it not ask him for any future purchases or an in-app purchase where they tend to rip you off. I want to ensure that it asks for a password every single time anything is purchased whether it is an in-app purchase or an app. I am unsure what the difference is between choosing immediately or 15 minutes on this specific Restrictions setting. Thank you.

    Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>In-App Purchases>Off. Then: Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>Require Password...set this to "Immediately".
Doing the above will accomplish what you want.

  • IOS 8.3 - App Store Password Restrictions

After upgrading to iOS 8.3 and opening the App Store, it prompted me to choose between "Enter Password Immediately" or "After 15 minutes". I blindly clicked one thinking I could change it later.
However now I can't find where to set this. I found this tech article, Use restrictions to prevent purchasing on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support however it seems to be out of date as there is no option for "Require Password" on my phone now! Does anyone at Apple do regression testing?
Anyone know where I can change this setting?
    Thanks

  • Document password restriction

I have mavericks OS X and created a new user due to problems with my older user account.  The genius bar helped move all of my files over to the new user without any problems.  However now when I am on my new user and I go to make any changes to these old files it requires my password any time I make a change.  I have checked the document information and it has my new user listed with read and write permission and my older user is no longer listed and the document is not locked according to the get info screen.  Is there a way to turn off this feature of requiring a password to edit the document or a reason why it is requiring me to input a password each time?

Properly reset a user's permissions and access control lists by following these steps:
Turn on the Mac whilst holding down cmd + R. You can let go once you see a spinning dial. You will then see the ”Mac OS X Utilities” screen.
On the top menu, click Utilities, then click Terminal.
    Type resetpassword and press Enter.
Click on your main hard drive.
In the dropdown box under “Select the user account” make sure to select your username.
Underneath where it says “Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs”, click the Reset button.
Press cmd + Q to quit the Reset Password application.
Press cmd + Q again to quit the Terminal.
Press cmd + Q one more time and click Restart.
Click Mac OS X Utilities in the top left of the screen and click the Restart button.

  • Problem in creating users with password restrictions

I have enabled the following option in the Authentication>Enterprise tab of CMC.
Must contain at least N Characters and specified N as 7
    Enforce mixed-case passwords
However I am able to create user with password as abcd.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance

I might be missing something but the rule applies to users changing their pw not administrators creating accounts. If the administrator sets this rule it would be thought/assumed that they would enforce their own rule when creating accounts. The users however should not be able to select 4 character passwords.
I'll run some tests and see if I find out anything different.
Tested this on XIR2 SP4 and XI 3.0 The rules apply to the user not the administrator creating the account.
So create an account while the 7 character pw is enabled. By default the user logs in with the pw (any amount of characters) and is prompted to change their pw. They cannot choose anything less than 7 characters. So unless an administrator creates an account with a password less than 7 characters AND deselects the option to force a pw change. All new users will be forced to select a 7 character password.
This is by design. If it forced the administrator to create accounts without a 7 character pw they could simply deselect the options(as administrators) so there is no security in forcing this.

    Tim

  • Keychains issues with passwords restricted

    hi
i forgot my password for some forum on the net so i decided to look in keychains assuming by typing my user password the password will become visible like the last 200 times i did it and now i notice i can not access any passwords when i try and i am not even asked for a password to see them,

what is the exact message you see when you repair the keychain? post it here please.
is the keychain unlocked in keychain access?
also, check the permissions on the keychain. go to the folder homedirectory/library/keychains. select login.keychain and enter command+i. read off the permissions in the resulting popup. what are they?
