DV6-1230us Intell 4 Series Express Chipset Family Driver Update
Hello,
I am looking for an updated driver I can download for my Intell 4 Series Express Chipset Family. I started having an issue with being able to edit my GoPro videos with GoPro Cinform studio on my laptop. After contacting GoPro and working through several recomendations nothing seemed to fix the issue so they suggested I download the most current driver. However there lies the problem, because the most current driver on the site is from 2009. Is there a more up to date driver I can download and use?
Please help,
DavidHi The intel chipset update manager refuses to do the update due to not accepted by the laptop mfgr (hp).
My original trouble is also with GoPro Studio 2, wherein part of the EDIT function screen, the storyboard panel, is missing and cannot be displayed, even with a pre-canned template.
Here is the output from dxdiag: (regret the verbose output)

RTS5229 PCI Express Card Reader=Unassigned class [ff00] dv6t-7000
Hello everyone. I am having issues with the built-in card reader in my HP dv6t-7000. I know that this kind of question has been asked before, but I am unable to find a solution. I am new to Arch, but have used almost ALL other distros. Arch is the first Linux on my laptop. Now down to the details.

The card reader class is Unassigned. Why? I followed this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=206464 and installed the realtek driver with no sucess. dmesg shows no changes. The card reader is basically ignored.
according to lsmod the module is active.

AXI memory mapped to PCI Express BAR0 size in Root Complex
I am using AXI memory mapped to PCI express (2.5) IP as a Root complex in my design.
I have selected the maximum BAR0 Size as 2 GB under PCIE:BARS and AXI-PCIe BAR translation as 0x00000000.
I want to access a memory in the host side of the Root complex using an endpoint.
When I tried to access the address more than 0x7FFF_FFFF from the endpoint in my testbench, the transaction is getting lost in the PCIe section of the IP. I don't see any AXI transaction in the output of the AXI.
Any transaction from the endpoint to address less than 0x80000000 goes through.
Is this a limitation in the IP?
What is the solution if we want to access 4GB of memory from the endpoint thorugh the Root complex?Hi Suresh,
This is a known issue with the core. This is targeted for fix in the next Vivado release, where you will either have the option of selecting a 4G BAR for the RP, or masking out the RP BAR altogether, which will allow the full 4G memory space to accept requests from the downstream devices. -

NMic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7. PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame? My mic has worked perfectly up untill the new driver update. It is now version .04.000 released 30 June 09'. That was yesterday as of this post. It was a complete reinstall of the driver and software and a new updater. When I finished all of the updates my mic no longer worked. Keep in mind that I have 2 mics and neither of them work. With the old driver and software I was able to access the Creative Audio Control Panel and I would find a tab called "Jacks". In that tab I could select "line in" or "microphone". I would select microphone and all would work well. Now I have a completely dumbed down Creative Audio Control Panel interface with no option that is similar. I have clean wiped and reinstalled the driver and sofware updates 3 times now with the same effect. Can anyone help please? I really don't want to wait -3 weeks for Creative support to get back to me. The only thing worse than Creative support is UBISoft support!
Thanks in advance.

MSI 6600 pci express driver issue
Evening/Morning all.
Not sure if this would be considered a commen problem or just my luck?
Did the build last week of my current rig (details in sig) and am pleased with how well things are preforming. However I would like to know if anyone else has had issues with installing the nVidia drivers from the CD that comes included with the video card?
Basically I installed the motherboard drivers in order, made sure that was all nice and happy I inserted the MSI driver CD for the video card, the autorun kicked in with the "selection" screen. Went and clicked on the "install nVidia display drivers" bit of fun...and got Nadda thing. It sat there like a very pretty rock. I had to install the drivers the ol' fashion way via the system's hardware manager. Once done it still was'ent right, so I had to D/L the updated drivers from MSI...Un-install the video drivers I just put on...(real nightmare...it also removed several other drivers...as well as the display drivers..done via "add/remove" programs.)
Long story short (I know..to late) I had to re-install all the motherboard drivers AGAIN...and then did the setup of the D/L drivers from MSI. This time it seems to be working.. (have several other issues as well...but this one really was 'odd')
Is this something that happens from time to time? Meaning the CD flat out does'ent install when you click on the 'install' option???
I'd like to think it's the CD...but I also wonder if I missed something along the way. (other problems will be addressed in their proper area)
All Best
S-This might be the best route. While I've normally have used the drivers from the motherboard makers websites? This is the first amd64 939 board I've had the unique pleasure to work with. The only thing that was a slight letdown was the benchmark.. 3Dmark 03. It only did slightly better then my other computer which my G/F is now using (amd2500+barton, Soyo KT600 ultra plat.)
This is my first run with PCI Express, so I'm still learning all of it's little 'quirks'. Such as trying to update the display drivers..and accidently nuking out the motherboard drivers at the same time. (Oppps)
6.6.9.3 seems to be the latest driver pack..and that's the one MSI listed. I'll keep my eyes open for any updates. When making a choice for updateing the drivers. Should I only use the ones that list PCI Express? I've noted a new(er) version on the MSI site but it did'nt mention PCI Express at all..So I went with the 6693 as it listed support for it.
Thanks!

Can I add a PCI Express eSATA card to my G5
Hi All,
Not clear if this will work...I have a late 2005 model Power Mac G5. I'd like to add this eSATA PCI Express card: http://www.worldofcables.com/store/viewItem.asp?idproduct=9232
So I can use this external drive with it's faster eSATA capability: http://www.macmall.com/p/Fantom-Drives-External-Hard-Drives/product~dpno~7819677 ~pdp.ffadahe?store=macmall&source=MWB23824
It's not clear to me if my mac can accommodate this card...does anyone have more insight than me?
Thanks in advance,
RickGreetings Everyone,
I am a long time Mac User but I must confess I am not really a "power user" I use my mac to edit my gigs and thats about it. I have acquired a 6TB G-Raid External SATA drive with tons of footage and I need to be able to interface my G5 PPC to it. I need to add a ESATA card to my rig so I can get to that footage. Please, Please, Please help! If anyone can suggest a card that will work I would be so very happy! I would be happier still if it was affordable!

it is installed in the x16 slot. i tried gen 1 x1 slot i was getting pathetic 130MB/s what is going... on new egg people with this drive and the controller are getting more than 400MB/s
btw i overclocked pci express and it improved the speed i dont get it what is going on...Quote from: brasstech on 12-September-11, 09:33:56
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit, Video card is EVGA GTX295, Marvell 91xx Sata 6G Controller Driver is 1.0.0.1034.
Oh wow that is crazy.
So there are only 2 explanations left since I only have GTX260.
1. I have some fluke Rev 0 motherboard.
2. Marvell chip doesn't like Crucial SSDs. Which I did hear kind of on Crucial forum. (I am thinking this).
To finally conclude it is Crucial SSD, can you take me which revision/model of motherboard you have? I think i seen it on a corner of the motherboard printed. Or in the bios.
I'll get mine from the BIOS tonight.
Also I wonder if overclocking the CPU increase the speed.... I asked brasstech if he overclocked... I hope he did, that would explain things. -
Will OSX support Adaptec PCI Express scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro?
I need to move my scsi interface scanner from a G4 machine and the old PCI Adaptec AHA 2930 CU card won't fit. I was using Snow Leopard on the G4 unit - it still supported the Adaptec card and all was good. My 23" Cinema display then bit the dust and I replaced it with with a 24" Cinema display with the mini display port connector. I purchased an adapter from Kanex to make it compatible, but the adapter was defective - so I returned it. Their reviews aren't very good - seem to have a lot of D.O.A. adapters - not sure I want to deal with the frustration, but it would be the least expensive option.
I do have, however, an early 2008 Mac Pro that I can use, provided that it supports the newer PCI Express scsi cards that Adaptec makes. I'm not sure which one to get yet, either. I'd rather not buy one and find out it won't work. I can make a partition on the boot drive for Snow Leopard in case scsi isn't supported in later versions of OSX. In case you're wondering, I did use a scsi to firewire adapter to run the scanner on my laptop for a while - but it stopped working and I can't locate any replacements (or the company - 2nd Wave Technologies - for that matter). I haven't tried locating a scsi to usb adapter, but from what I can see, they are getting pretty scarce. I'd replace the scanner, but it is fairly pricey and the newest model retails at the price of a small car - so that really isn't an option at this point.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Changed name of display adapter manufacturer. Thanks for the response - I guess the question I should have asked is "Will OSX support scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro and if so, which ones?" I didn't realize Apple and Adaptec weren't working together - my G4 tower arrived with an Adaptec card in it when I bought it in 2000 (from a third party vendor, not directly from Apple). It came with either OS 8.* or OS 9. When I updated to OSX, everything continued working, so I didn't think much about it until I pondered using the Mac Pro for the scanner - at some point the G4 is going to stop working - need to have a solution before that happens. The manuals I've been reading refer to the slots in the G4 machines as PCI. The manual for the Mac Pro refers to the slots as PCI e. These slots have fewer connectors, so I thought that the "Express" part of the name referred to this particular card configuration when compared to the longer card connectors in the G4 type of machines.
Can you tell me what scsi card brands will work in the Mac Pro? I'd still like to pursue this option. As I mentioned in my original post, buying a new scanner isn't in the cards right now - it costs more than the computer, so, although pricey, the card option is still less expensive.
Thanks!
