PDA and data synchronization -help required

Hi,
I have experince in developing web applications in jsp/servlets and php. I wish to develop a PDA supported java server
application. I have downloaded netbeans for using as an IDE. It does have support for mobile emulators, but does not support
PDA/Palm OS emulators.
What about IBM websphere and eclipse for using as IDE? Will they support J2ME SDK? Please help me in devoloping my PDA
application.
why we use data synchronisation for laptop and PDA for web applications? Why is it not applied in normal PC?

Vinod, you might want to look at the palm.com web site. There is quite alot of information available for developers.
By reading your original query, I assume you are talking about thread safety and not synchronization, per se. Thread safety is very important in a web app as you surely know. If you don't and have been developing Servlets/JSPs then, hoo boy!

You need to provide an example value that's failing and the date formats in the reference data you're using. It's more than likely you don't have the correct format in your ref data.

Difference between Data Replication and Data Synchronization?

Hi Brian: Sorry, the Data Replication task wizard does not support ODBC sources. I don't think there's an easy way to truncate the target tables using a Data Synchronization task, but you should be able to read data from an ODBC source and write it to your target. The main difference between the two task wizards:Data Replication allows you to copy multiple tables from the same source and do incremental loads (only copying new or updated data on subsequent runs of the same task)Data Syncronization allows you to transform data with field expressions and lookups. I typically use Data Replication where I truncate the target, but it doesn't appear that this works for ODBC connections. However, Data Sync does work for ODBC connections--if I'm already truncating the target, is this the same as a data sync

PS: You can try parallelism but this is not performance improvent as far as resource are concerned, it is just instead of one thread parallel thread would be working, so it just reduce the time the query takes to complete

Deleted files from the Original and Data folders - help?

I imported my fiance's iphoto library to try to recover photos that I lost from when my hard drive crashed. They first were not importing into iphoto (while the files were on the harddrive), so I placed them in my Originals/Data iphoto folders. Now I have 6-8 versions of files that I don't even necessarily need, mostly thumbnails and a few of the original files.
I know I have made a lot of mistakes... so at this point what do I do- I've stopped manually deleting folders from these categories, but I do not want to lose what precious pictures I had from before the harddrive failure, and how do I get back to a iphoto library without duplicates?

My library still opens within iPhoto- will it continue to do so? Do I need to do anything now (since I have already messed with the Originals and Data folders?)
In addition, iPhoto now shows me blanks for some pictures/events, is there a way to have iPhoto scan the entire computer and realize files are missing and to ignore them?

3 - if you do not have a fully functioning iPhoto library then quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library to the desktop, launch iPhoto and create a new library and then open the bad iPhoto library on the desktop and open the originals folder and drag each folder from it onto the iPhoto icon in the dock (or the iPhoto event window) to create events with all of your photos, then back up and run duplicate annihilator
Since you have corrupted your library you can do anything you want to it before you create a new one from the remaining photos

Business Partner Data Archiving - Help Required

Hi,
Am New to Data Archiving and need help to Archive Business Partner in CRM. I tried to Archive some BP's but it was not archiving. Kindly throw some light on it.
Problem we face are:
1) When we try to write a Business Partner to an Archive File the Job Log Shows finished but no files are created in the System.
2) When we try to delete the BP from Data Base it doesn't show the Archived BP's that could be deleted (I guess this is because there are no archived file).
Archive Object Used is CA_BUPA. We have created a Variant and set the Time as Immediate and Spool to LOCL.
Kindly let us know if there is any step we are missing here and if we are on the wrong track.
All answers are appreciated.

Hi,
To archive a BP following steps are to be followed.
A. Mark the BP to be archived in transaction BP >status tab
B. Run dacheck
FYI : Steps on how to perform dacheck :
1. In transaction DACONTROL change the following parameter to the
values : for CA_BUPA .
No. calls/packages   1
Number of Objects   50
Package SizeRFC     20
Number of Days       1 (if you use mobile client it should be more)
2.If a business partner should be archived directly after the
archiving note was set, this can be done by reseting the check
   date with report CRM_BUPA_ARCHIVING_FLAGS.
   here only check (set) the options :
   - Archiving Flag
   - Reset Check Date
Reset all options should be unchecked.
3. go to dacheck and run the process
4. This will change the status of the BPs to 'Archivable'
   *Only those bp's which are not involved in any business transactions,
    install base, Product Partner Range (PPR) will be set to archivable
The BP's with status 'Archivable' will be used by the archiving
     run.
Kindly refer note 646425 before goint to step C ***
C.Then run transaction CRM_BUPA_ARC.
- Make sure that the "selection program" in transaction "DACONTROL"
   is maintained as " CRM_BUPA_DA_SELECTIONS"
Also create a variant, which can done by excecuting
CRM_BUPA_DA_SELECTION and enter the variants name for the field
Variant. This variant is the buisness partner range.
- Also please check note 554460.

DMS Data Migration-Help required

I don't have enough knowledge on DMS Data migration.
In our recent Implementation, we are implementing SAP DMS.
Our client has more legacy data which is in their server. So we have to upload all the data's into SAP DMS.
I gone through few SCN threads and understand that LSMW & BDC will be used for Data migration.
Which is the best method for Data migration?
We are having 50+ document types and it has different processes (status network), Classification & few Object links.
Please advice me and provide me some examples to upload legacy data in DMS.

You may check feasibility on these approaches for your scenario.

Creating these configurations into SAP is one time and should not be a problem.
I gone through few SCN threads and understand that LSMW & BDC will be used for Data migration.
Which is the best method for Data migration?
How much volume of data do you have in legacy system ?
Have a thought on whether do you really need to migrate all these data into SAP DMS ???
OR
You can configure the DMS system and start fresh leaving the document in legacy system as it is.

Entity beans and data synchronization

I want to use a BMP to represent information about a database entity where the BMP "fields" are actually statistical summaries (e.g., an Account bean where the "field" num_transactions is calculated using a query rather than stored). I want to do this because the queries that generate the summary statistics are costly and I want to cache the results in memory. Since these are "read-only" statistics, I could use DAOs and a Fast Track Reader but I want to make use of the caching and lookup facilities of J2EE for finding accounts that are already cached.
I only refresh the back end database nightly, so I need to flush all of the values in all cached Account beans nightly. Is there a facility for this type of thing, or do I need to manually control it (e.g., using a "version" number on the data that is checked periodically).

You might also check your application server's documentation. Weblogic provides a read-only entity bean, whereby you can specify a timeout parameter in your descriptor file. The container will then only call ejbLoad() when the ejb is accessed and the timeout has been passed. This, in effect, provides a caching mechanism.

The process to update your Tom Tom is a big data file, you will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network for it to download. If will take about an hour.

Require name and date before printing form

I have a 13 page PDF that a customer or our staff prints from our website. Often the customer or staff does not name and date each page of the form. Not having a name and date on each page of the form causes problems when they customer returns the form to the office, and the form pack gets divided for scanning into different areas of the customer file. 1) Is there an Adobe product that changes a PDF to require the downloader of the form to place a first and last name in the name field before printing. 2) Also, I would need a date stamp placed on the form when it prints. Is there I product that could help me program this PDF to do these 2 things? This post is the first time I can recall posting in this community. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Many fields have a "Required" property. This is used when a form is submitted to a scripted web page for processing to throw an error message if any required fields are not completed.
One can use this property within a an action for a form to check if required fields are competed.

I would add a form field that is filled in with the print date and time by some JavaScript in the Will Print action.

MRP is conflicting with Sales order requirement Qty and date

Hi experts,
We have below scenario:
Material has the stock 100. It has reorder point 3 and MRP type V2 (Automatic reorder point with external requirements) and planned delivery time 10 days.
MRP run creates purchase requisition whenever the stock falls below reorder level or/and based on customer orders requirements.
We created first sales order for Qty 80 and delivery date 03/01/2012. Qty 80 is confirmed against this sales order.
We created second sales order for Qty 50 and delivery date 01/31/2012. Now remaining Qty 20 is confirmed against this order. So we have requirements of 30 Qty for this second order.
When we run MRP, it supposes to create Purchase requisition for Qty 33 (30 + 3) including reorder point (3 Qty). As the delivery date for this order is 01/31/2012 and requirement Qty is 30, and planned delivery time is10 days, MRP run should create purchase requisition. But it is not creating.
If I change the planned delivery time to 30 days, it is creating purchase requisition. It is considering sales order delivery date of First order (delivery date: 03/01/2012), but not for second order (delivery date: 01/31/2012).
So MRP is conflicting with Sales order requirement Qty and date.
Appreciate your help in this regard to resolve the issue
