PDF Mail Attachement HypeText Link

Hello,
It seems that you can't activate a hypertext link in a pdf document via Iphone Email Reader (3GS/4 ios5.11).
As i open it in IBooks, the Hypertext Links are activated and do operate.
Is that "normal" ?
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
Philip.

Oli,
I can't find any reference to a similar bug, and I've never seen this before. However, 3.0 is now a desupported version, so the best advice I can give would be to move to 6i, apply the latest patch, and if you still see the issue then contact support.
Regards,
Danny

  • Creating a PDF-Mail-Attachment via Abap Mapping possible ?

    Hi folks,
    I am trying to build a szenario like: Getting an Idoc -> sending it to abap mapping -> map a pdf from smartforms in abap -> map the from/to for the mail payload -> come back from abap mapping -> send it with the mail adapter .
    But now I am stuck at the point "coming back from abap mapping", because the pdf -data seems to become unreadable because of conversion. I am using Ixml and trying to attach the create pdf (looks hex-right at that point) by method create_simple_element as content-tag of the mail. But after rendering and coming back out of mapping, it seams that that data is not converted from xstring back in the right way. Can someone give a hint ? Is that way by IXML not possible for data including binary-data ? Have I to go another way?
    Thanks in advance
    Detlef

    > as content-tag of the mail.
    Sometimes I have to read the request several times to find the issue:
    No you cannot put a binary as part of an XML element.
    You can only send a plain binary as payload, so the whole mail would be nothing besides the PDF.
    In PI 7.1 you can create also an additional attachment out of mapping, but I do not know if this works for ABAP mapping also.
    The whole "I want to send an email with attachment out of PI" topic is not supported from PI development in any way.
    So you have to write a lot of code (especially Java code) to achieve this.
    > Regarding your opinion. Its based on customer requirements to have central focal point in dezentral landscape.
    The PI expert has to advise the customer for the scenarios. That is part of the job.

  • How Can I Attach and Link an XML file to a 3D Model in a PDF?

    How Can I Attach and Link an XML file to a 3D Model in a PDF?
    What I am trying to do is find out how to have a 3D model and a parts list linked to it within the PDF file.  I would also like to be able to add to the parts list if at all possible once the pdf has been created.  A template to create future PDF's with the 3D model and list might also be useful.
    I am not entirely sure if this is all possible within a PDF file, but I have viewed a PDF (Adidas Trainer) example which has a Excel file attached to it which links to the 3D model.  I have also had a look at partner products such as Lattice, Tetra4D, Anark, which can do animations and all sorts, but frankly it seems a bit overkill for what I am looking to do.
    Please, any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

    I wrote about it while ago, let me paste the whole thing.
    This example has simple
    buttons which upon click go to new sites and in the same time
    place record in form
    of *.SOL file on user drive. That record is read when you hit
    the next button and
    based on that the button will be selected as the one last
    clicked.
    You could use the very same thing just instead of suppressing
    button simply gotoAndPlay frame
    to continue the part you need.

  • How to run 2 reports to send 1 PDF e-mail attachment instead of 2 e-mails.

    I used 9i Reports to create 2 reports in a PDF format. I run these reports from a 9i form using the web.show_document command. XML is used to send the 2 e-mails with the reports.
    Is there a way I can combine the running of the reports to make one PDF to created 1 e-mail attachment or run the reports at the same time and attach 2 PDF files to 1 e-mail.
    I have no problems running 1 report and sending 1 e-mail attacment!
    This is example of the XML used in creating the e-mail:
    - <destinations>
    - <foreach>
    - <file id="Test" name="REPORT_1.pdf" format="pdf" instance="XXXX">
    <include src="report" />
    </file>
    </foreach>
    - <!-- Send a mail with an attachment
    -->
    - <mail id="ex1" to="&DESNAME" from="&DESNAME" subject="&DESNAME;*;&p_postal_number: was submitted for
    approval on &p_postal_date">
    <body srcType="text">This is to notify you of a new submission that requires an approval before being
    sent to out. Please use the URL link below to review the information as soon as possible.
    https://xxxx.aaaa.sss.com:234/web_html/static.html AAAA Administrator</body>
    - <attach format="pdf" name="Report_1&.pdf" srcType="report">
    <include src="mainSection" />
    </attach>
    </mail>
    </destinations>

    You can use iText to combine two PDF files into one.

  • Can you create a pdf e-mail attachment with working hyperlinks?

    I'm trying to figure out how to generate an e-mail with working hyperlinks where the recipient doesn't have to open the pdf for the links to work...in other words, when they open the e-mail and view the pdf as it is displayed, the links are visible and the viewer can click on them and go to a URL. I see this all the time, and can't figure out how to do it with a pdf (I've added the links with the link took in pdf and they display within the application window, but disappear when the file is an e-mail attachment) or with html. I've attached the pdf that I'm trying to make interactive within an e-mail message. Any help that can be provided is much appreciated!

    Michael your answer is colored by the fact you use an ASCII (Text only) News Reader.
    The answer is more along these lines:
    PDF's can be created with working hyperlinks.
    They can be automatically be brought over from programs such as MS Word, Open Office, and such  provided your on a PC Platform
    they can actually be viewed and clickable from Acrobat or Reader PC Versions, if created from a PC Version.
    they are not viewable or clickable if created from Mac version of Office.
    They are viewable and clickable from a PC if created from Mac version of Office (Word/Excel)
    The Mac can can not do so automatically you must do them Manually with in Acrobat.
    in Past it has been a Pain to do so though may be different in version 9
    If you use a browser Plugin such as Schubert's PDF Browser Plugin that works on Safari, fireFox, Camino, SeaMonkey Opera, OmniPage, iCab. Links you create in Mac version of Acrobat are viewable and clickable.
    Finally MS and Adobe have been having this on going problem since the day's PDF's first hit the market. (Version 1.) and MS  decided to support them. The hooks are there for both PC and Mac versions of Word. and either are capable of being created and acted upon on whether created by the Mac version of Office, or the PC version of Office, but only on a windows PC. Its clearly a problem of Acrobat/Reader on the Mac. Its either a problem Adobe won't own up to, or they can't solve or, this is one item they can't be bothered with to put in the Mac Versions.
    Some of this information is based on my participation in the msnews. nntp newsgroups for Office Mac. The experts there for the most part (MVP's) use both Mac and PC's and have investogated the problem themselves and been give information from the MacBU (Mac Business Unit) at MicroSoft. The basic internal code of Office 2003/2004 is the same. The UI is different and key cobinations are different. And same for 2007/2008 except office 2008 don't support VBA and Macros, and neither 2004 nor 2008 have MasterPages, And thankfully according the the MVP's Thankfully the Robbonis not supported on 2008.

  • Can Mail send interactive PDF attachments with URL links?

    I have tried without success to send a PDF that has URL links embedded (made in InDesign CS3). When this mail arrives the links are stripped out from the attached PDF. I do not want to send html mail for this purpose.
    Anyone have any answers? Thanks.

    Jon,
    The strong probability is that a SPAM filter in the path to the recipient has stripped them out -- Mail would not cause this. Have you tried opening the PDF with Acrobat Pro, doing a Save As, and then attaching that version to see if the same behavior continues.

  • Error while opening PDF in mail attachment

    Hi All,
    In smartform i am sending a mail with attachemnt as PDF file,there is one more option like preview of smartform .
    issue is like i am able to see the preview of the same record but when it is sent in mail attachement,and while opening PDF its showing error that file can not be open it is corrupted.
    Please help.
    Mona Singh.

    Dear Sandra
    That was my problem: binary data was incorrectly converted (often because of Unicode systems).
    I returned
            bin_filesize          = v_len_in
            bin_file              = l_binfile
    from the function module CONVERT_OTF, then converted the xstring data (l_binfile) into an internal table (t_objbin) to send to the mail send function with the following function module:
        CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
          EXPORTING
            buffer        = l_binfile
          IMPORTING
            output_length = v_lines_bin
          TABLES
            binary_tab    = t_objbin.
    Many thanks for your help.

    Thanks. I disabled Protected Mode, and I was able to open the pdf attachment. Just to make sure, I enabled it and then disabled it again, and when I tried to open the attachment, it did as before – Adobe Reader (Not Responding) and Internal Error message. Tried it several more times, (enable and then disable Protected Mode) and each time, Adobe Reader wouldn’t launch (Not Responding, Internal Error).

  • Pdf file name in mail attachment

    Hi All,
    For sales order invoice, there is an output type configured which sends the output smartform as pdf attachment in mail.
    The sending medium is 'External send' (Type 5). I want to know how I can give a specific name to this pdf file attachment.
    Since there is no coding involved in generating this pdf attachment, i don't know how to achieve it.
    Can I pass it when i call the function module of the smartform ?
    Please help.
    Regards

    Hi,
    In your driver program, the title for the pdf has to be provided in the import structure for the smartform with name "OUTPUT_OPTIONS" of type SSFCOMPOP.
    In it, use try field TDTITLE or TDCOVTITLE. I don't exactly remember which 1 of these 2, so try both.

          //sbuf = sbuf.replaceAll(">", "&gt;");
          out.write(bbuf);
    This code working fine with text file but not for pdf file. because i got error in mail adapter :

  • Sending PO in mail attachment with pdf format

    Hello,
    We are sending PO to vendor in a pdf attachment. The configuration is in place and as soon as the PO(ME22N) is saved the pdf mail is sent to vendor external mail address.
    The requirement however is to add some text to this mail body ( in addition to the existing PDF attachment ).
    The NACE config is using SAPFM06P program with entry_neu form and a custom sap script.
    can somebody help as where is this mail functionality added in this standard program so that I may try to customize the same for the above requirement.
    All I can see is 2 FM used in this ENTRY_NEU Form. Of which I guess ME_PRINT_PO is sending the mail ( I may be wrong here ) but where ?
    I will be thankful for any kind of hint to help solve this issue.

    In general you will have to do the following:
    1) Set NAST-NACHA = 8 (Special function)
    2) Before OPEN_FORM (maybe in In enhancement spot) if NAST-NACHA = 8, then set itcpo-tdgetotf = 'X' (to get OTF back from CLOSE_FORM!)
    3) During CLOSE_FORM, if NAST-NACHA = '8', get OTF output from TABLES parameter OTFDATA
    4) Convert this OTF output to PDF using following sample code:
    data: I_PDF STRUCTURE  TLINE occurs 0,
            I_OTF i_otf LIKE itcoo OCCURS 0.
        CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'

    or you can follow below procedure as well:
    I suggest you make yourself very familiar with the SAP code that does this automatically. Once you understand the processing sequence SAP uses, it is much easier to add your customization and insert your enhancements. To debug it and step through the code, but a breakpoint in ENTRY_NEU, and process a PO. If you're sending your messages using a scheduled job, you'll hit the breakpoint when you process the message using RSNAST00. That's how I did it. I can tell you what I did to meet my requirements. You can change to meet your needs. It required a custom program, to use instead if ENTRY_NEU, and 3 enhancements to SAP code using the Enhancement Framework. You need to know how to use the framework. 1. configure your output type ZNE2 to to run a new program ZMRP_OUTCTRL, to run form routine ENTRY_ZNE2, to create form Z_PURCHASE_ORDER. 2. In ZMRP_OUTCTRL, call standard function modules, ME_READ_PO_FOR_PRINT and ME_PRINT_PO. 3. Drill down into ME_PRINT_PO to PREPARE_FORMULAR function module. Create new enhancement, and if NAST-KSCHL = ZNE2, then lookup the recipient's email address. Pass it as parameter to ADDR_GET_NEXT_COMM_TYPE. 4. Still in ME_PRINT_PO, PREPARE_FORMULAR, add another enhancement to set the value of itcpo-getotf to u2018Xu2019, to enable CLOSE_FORM to capture OTF data for PDF. Only set this OTF flag when the output is being run by RSNAST00, not when a user is simply previewing the printout. Sy-ucomm will be blank when RSNAST00 is running. 5. In ME_PRINT_PO, drill down to ENDE, and add an enhancement to check for NAST-KSCHL = ZNE2, and if so, call standard SAP function modules to END_FORM, START_FORM, WRITE_FORM, and END_FORM. Next call the function CLOSE_FORM, and set table parameter to capture the OTF_DATA as a table parameter OTF_DATA. 6. If OTF_DATA is found, then: If nast-kschl = 'ZNE2'. if NOT otf_data[] is initial. gs_OTF[] = otf_data[]. CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF' EXPORTING format = 'PDF' IMPORTING bin_filesize = v_len_in TABLES otf = gs_otf lines = gt_pdf EXCEPTIONS err_max_linewidth = 1 err_format = 2 err_conv_not_possible = 3 OTHERS = 4.
