Per instance pipeline configuration issue. SOAP faults..

Hi,
We have two different BizTalk applications calling the same web service (Dynamics AX 2012 to be precise). We want to avoid creating a shared BizTalk application containing the schemas for the web service, so we hoped that using per-instance pipeline configuration
might help (setting  the DocSpecName property on XmlReceive pipeline of the request-response send port).
It worked fine, but when we received the XLangSoap exception from AX, we got the following error message:
No Disassemble stage components can recognize the data.
So it appears BizTalk tried to resolve the Fault message against the one specified in the DocSpecName property and of course it failed.
Any suggestions or our only option is still to create shared BizTalk application with the schemas?
Thanks a lot!

Almost.  You would need two different Receive Pipelines, one for each Project/Application, each with it's own XmlDisassembler.
That XmlDisassembler will reference, via the Document Schemas option the 'local' schemas and also the Soap Fault built-in Schema.
However, keep in mind that there are some really weird rules about Schema resolution within the same Assembly so to have it work reliably, you may have to put the Pipelines in separate Projects.  There's nothing wrong with that.

  • Soap Fault mapping issue

    Hi,
    I have a synchronous scenario of (request) Proxy --> XI --> SOAP and (response) SOAP --> XI --> Proxy.  I am having an issue returning the application soap faults back to the sender system.  When I enter invalid data while testing this webservice call with a soap client directly without XI I get a soap fault response:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       <soapenv:Body>
          <soapenv:Fault>
             <faultcode>soapenv:Server.generalException</faultcode>
             <faultstring>Login failed</faultstring>
             <detail>
                <LoginFault xmlns="NAMESPACE">
                   <exceptionCode>710</exceptionCode>
                   <exceptionMessage>Login failed</exceptionMessage>
                </LoginFault>
                <ns1:exceptionName xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">NAMESPACE</ns1:exceptionName>
             </detail>
          </soapenv:Fault>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    When testing this through XI, the response message after the Soap call is returning the following soap fault in XI payload:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    <!--  XML Validation Inbound Channel Response  -->
    <LoginFault xmlns="NAMESPACE">
      <exceptionCode>710</exceptionCode>
      <exceptionMessage>Login failed</exceptionMessage>
    </LoginFault>
    Notice just the detail body exists in the payload instead of the soap evelope and body, which I read is stripped off within XI in the case of application errors.  I have setup a fault message mapping to tie the wsdl login fault with the standard fault message type and included this in the service interfaces and operations mapping.  When the soap fault happens within XI I am getting the following mapping error:
    NO_MAPPINGPROGRAM_FOUND:  Mapping program is not available in runtime cache:
    I am expecting the fault mapping to be executed in this case but doesn't seem to be found.  Any ideas why this mapping error is occuring and not being directed to my fault message mapping?  Is the mapping expecting the soap envelope and body to be included in the payload?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nate

  • Catching and rethrowing a SOAP Fault from an OSB 11g Proxy service

    Hello,
    We have a chain of proxy services (that last one of which calls a business service) in our 11.1.1.6 OSB project.  At one of the lower levels, we successfully throw a fault like this:
    <soapenv:Body xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <soap:Fault xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
        <soap:faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Client</soap:faultcode>
        <soap:faultstring>Non-Existent User</soap:faultstring>
        <soap:faultActor>Client who consumed this Web Service operation</soap:faultActor>
        <soap:detail>
          <sc:UserNonExistentFault xmlns:sc="http://xmlns.sc.com/Services/V1">
            <sc:CustomerNumber>12345</sc:CustomerNumber>
          </sc:UserNonExistentFault>
        </soap:detail>
      </soap:Fault>
    </soapenv:Body>
    In the proxy service which calls this proxy service, I tried to catch this fault in an Error Handler so that I could confirm that it's available for me to re-throw back up the chain.  Curiously, the proxy service which calls that proxy service cannot see that fault.  But rather it sees what appears to be an OSB-overridden fault:
    <con:fault xmlns:con="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
      <con:errorCode>BEA-380000</con:errorCode>
      <con:reason>com.bea.wli.sb.pipeline.PipelineException</con:reason>
      <con:details>
        <err:ErrorResponseDetail xmlns:err="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/errors">
          <err:response-metadata xsi:type="sb:SBResponseMetaDataXML" xmlns:sb="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports/sb" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
            <tran:headers xsi:type="sb:SBResponseHeadersXML" xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports"/>
            <tran:response-code xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">1</tran:response-code>
            <tran:encoding xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">utf-8</tran:encoding>
          </err:response-metadata>
        </err:ErrorResponseDetail>
      </con:details>
      <con:location>
        <con:node>PipelinePairNode</con:node>
        <con:pipeline>PipelinePairNode_request</con:pipeline>
        <con:stage>GetCustomerByNumber</con:stage>
        <con:path>request-pipeline</con:path>
      </con:location>
    </con:fault>
    I have tried printing out the values of $body, $fault, $outbound and $inbound from the calling proxy service's Error Handler just to see if our <sc:UserNonExistentFault> is nested anywhere therein.  Unfortunately, it is nowhere to be found.
    How can we force OSB to NOT override our faults with OSB-framework faults and, instead, just throw our custom fault all the way up the chain and back to the consumer?
    Thank you,
    Michael

    I think I figured this out.
    In proxyService-2, build the <soap:Fault> and assign it to the body, then Reply with Failure (as you mentioned above).
    When proxyService-1 receives this, it will still be in the $body variable.  But the $fault variable is now populated with a BEA-38000 error.  It seems that as long as the $fault variable has data in it, then the OSB system will throw that instead of my fault (ignoring the <soap:Fault> I put into the body).
    So what I did was to Delete the $fault variable in the error handler of proxyService-1, then Reply with Failure (again).
    It would seem as if the inner workings of OSB has some logic like:
    if $fault is not null, throw the BEA-####### fault.  Otherwise, return the contents of the $body.
    By removing the fault, I effectively got to that "else/otherwise" condition.
    Of course, the Reply with Failure is still needed to ensure that an HTTP 500 error is passed with the fault (per the SOAP specification).
    Cheers!
    Michael

  • Business Service SOAP Fault : OSB still using body to populate fault?

    I have a SOAP service specifically returning a SOAP fault. OSB doesn't recognize it as an fault and continues processing as if everything is OK. As per the documentation, in case of SOAP faults, OSB should generate a $fault variable based on the details present inside the SOAP fault, which in turn should give the control to the normal error handling stage and by pass the pipe line flow.
    Does anyone know how to get OSB to recognize a SOAP fault for what it is? Here's the response returned to OSB:
    <SOAP-ENV:Fault xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

  • PI 7.1 Adapter Module Development - Identify SOAP Fault Message

    Hi Experts,</br>
    here's a PI 7.1 Adapter Module Development issue I hope you can help me to resolve. It's about identifying SOAP fault messages.</br>
    </br>
    Scenario at a glance:</br>
    Adapter Modules placed in the modules chain at request and response time in a synchronous Scenario:</br>
    - Request: SOAP Axis to RFC </br>
    - Response and Fault Response: RFC to SOAP Axis</br>
    </br>
    The issue is how to identify SOAP fault message in SOAP Axis Adapter Module in the response message:</br>
    The client gets SOAP fault messages like the follwong one:</br>
       <SOAP:Body>
          <SOAP:Fault>
             <faultcode>SOAP:Server</faultcode>
             <faultstring>Server Error</faultstring>
             <detail>
                <ns1:exception xmlns:ns1="http://typen.geschaeftsstelle.pab.barmer.de">
                   <ns1:errortext>bla bla bla ...</ns1:errortext>
                </ns1:exception>
             </detail>
          </SOAP:Fault>
       </SOAP:Body>
    </br>
    </br>
    But when trying to access the tags faultcode and/or faultstring in the adapter module via xPath expressions I do not get them. Obviously the SOAP Fault tags are built AFTER the adapter module has been passed. So my question is:</br>
    How can I clearly/uniquely detect a SOAP fault response message (and distinguish it from a "normal" response message) in my SOAP Axis Adapter Module?</br>
    </br>
    I tried it the following way:</br>
    </br>
    </br>
    // Check Message Payload for SOAP Fault Message via xPath expressions</br>
    ...</br>
    // SOAP Fault Code</br>
    zv_xPression = zc_constXPattern.replaceFirst("&", "faultcode");</br>
    zv_soapFaultCode = XPathAPI.eval(zv_doc, (String) zv_xPression).toString();</br>
    // SOAP Fault String</br>
    zv_xPression = zc_constXPattern.replaceFirst("&", "faultstring");</br>
    zv_soapFaultString = XPathAPI.eval(zv_doc, (String) zv_xPression).toString();</br>
    // check for SOAP Fault Message</br>
    if (zv_soapFaultCode.equals("") && zv_soapFaultString.equals("")) {</br>
         // Create Audit Log entry - NOT a SOAP Fault Message</br>
         zv_msgText = zc_constModuleName + " 0190: xPath - OK! This message is NOT a SOAP Fault Message";</br>
         zv_audit.addAuditLogEntry(zv_msgKey, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS, zv_msgText);</br>
         zv_faultCheck = false;</br>
    }</br>
    else {</br>
         ...</br>
         // Create Audit Log entry - SOAP Fault Message</br>
         zv_msgText = zc_constModuleName </br>
              + " 0200: xPath - this message is a SOAP Fault Message. " </br>
              + " - Faultcode is: " + zv_soapFaultCode </br>
              + " - Faultstring is: " + zv_soapFaultString; </br>
         zv_audit.addAuditLogEntry(zv_msgKey, AuditLogStatus.ERROR, zv_msgText);</br>
         ...</br>
    }</br>
    ...</br>
    </br></br>
    But zv_soapFaultCode and zv_soapFaultString are always empty (with other payload tags this coding works fine).</br>
    </br>
    Any ideas? </br></br>
    Thanx very much in advance!</br></br>
    Regards,</br>
    Volker

    Hi Alex!
    Like already mentioned I solved my problem by identifying the SOAP exception with the messageClass attribute of the PI message header. Acess code:
    try {
    String zv_msgClass = zv_piMsg.getMessageClass().toString();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    zv_msgText = zc_constModuleName
    + " E0110: Message processing terminated."
    + " Reason: Error while getting MessageClass "
    + zv_dataSource
    + e;
    // create trace and audit log entry (severity ERROR) for exception
    zv_location.errorT(ZV_SIGNATURE, zv_msgText);
    zv_audit.addAuditLogEntry(zv_msgKey, AuditLogStatus.ERROR, zv_msgText);
    ModuleException me = new ModuleException(e);
    zv_location.throwing(ZV_SIGNATURE, me);
    e.printStackTrace();
    throw me;
    }     // end of try-catch-block
    But I do not think this will solve your problem. I am almost sure, that something in your Axis configuration is wrong/missing. If a handler cannot be instatiated then it really may be missing. Have a look at defaultTrace.trc. Maybe you will find more suitable information about the root cause of your problem. Also have a look at NWA under software components and/or application modules if you can find/see your modules.
    But there is a general issue when trying to catch PI fault messages. If e.g. the requestor tries to login with wrong userid/pasword, then you will have no chance to catch this kind of error - at least as far as I know. Because in this very early stage of PI message processing no module is called.
    One last question: Did you develop your own Adapter or just an adapter module? In the first case: Is your adapter started and healthy? Have a look at RWB -> communication channel monitoring.

    Volker

  • "SOAP:Fault" in scenario with ABAP proxy client

    Hello,
    I realized the scenario CRM40_Basis620(ABAP proxy client)->XI->File.
    XI:
    The sender communication channel is a XI adapter (Parameters: HTTP 1.0, XI 3.0, Integration Server, Security profile unchecked, Security level - HTTP).

    The proxy generation is ok.
    SLDCHECK is ok.
    All RFC destinations are ok.
    APPINT_200_620 for CRM was installed and configured well (I think so, but...).
    When I ran the ABAP proxy client on CRM, sxmb_moni(CRM) returned the text for the XML Message (Display-CallIntegrationServer-Payloads-TraceDocument):

    There is no need for an XI adapter for client proxy.... we only use that for server proxies.

  • Problem with SOAP FAULT messages

    Hi,
    I'm developing the flash interface for a .NET application.
    The client side (flash) communicate with server side (.NET) by web
    services. The problem is that when the server side send a Fault
    message flash breaks telling "Unable to connect to
    endpoint........". In this case I need to know the error message
    send by the server but the fault.faultstring is undefined.
    Here the server Fault message:
    HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error.
    Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2006 09:07:10 GMT
    Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0
    X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
    X-AspNet-Version: 1.1.4322
    Cache-Control: private
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Content-Length: 419
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:xsd="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <soap:Body>
    <soap:Fault>
    <faultcode>SoapHeader</faultcode>
    <faultstring>The userid: xxxx is
    invalid</faultstring>
    <detail />
    </soap:Fault>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    And this the code that handle the fault case:
    pendingcall.onFault = function (fault:Object){
    rootObj.gbl_logger.log("WS Fault: "+ fault.faultstring ,
    10);
    As you can see the real faultstring is "The userid: xxxx is
    invalid" but in the faultstring property of the fault object I
    found "undefined".
    I've read many posts that report that the problem can be
    solved in the server side modifing the HTTP HEADER from 500 to 200.
    Unfortunately I can't access the server side code. Exists a way to
    resolve the problem in the client side? Seems it is a Flash bug as
    the SOAP 1.1 specs tells that all SOAP Fault messages must carry a
    HTTP 500 header. Exists some patch that solve the problem?
    Thanks.

  • Error capturing SOAP fault for Sync Messages

    Hi
    We have a Sync interface which makes a Proxy call from ECC to PI and then PI makes Soap Sync call to Web application. We are having issues when handling Exceptions. Sender is getting misleading errors in response, even though they are application errors the proxy sender is getting error like MappingObjectNotFound.
    When debug the PI system, PI is truncating error info when it return the reponse.
    Below is the scenario of Synchronous interface:
    ECC(Proxy) -> PI(Soap Receiver Adapter) -> MasterDataApp-(Webserver)
    Below is the actual response from Webserver (Extracted via TCPGW sniffer):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

    </detail>
    </soapenv:Fault>

    Thanks,
    laxman

    Hi Laxman,
    SOAP Adapter cannot handle fault responses. I understand your issue. You even want to send the errorneous response from the Webservice as a payload back to the sender. But because of application error from Webservice, you are getting an error in the response message (Mapping Not found). SOAP Adapter cannot handle application error (i.e you will not get the errorneous response in form of payload) . For details please read below:
    The receiver adapter expects a SOAP message as response. For synchrnous calls, a successful response should be returned with HTTP 200. In this case, the content of the SOAP body will be returned to the caller as the response payload. When some error occurs, the SOAP message may contain the SOAP fault element. In this case, when the fault detail element is not empty, its content will be returned as the fault payload in an application error message. For others, a system error message will be returned to the caller.
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK

    In order to send the erroneous response as a payload to the sender, you should develop flow in below manner:
    ECC(Proxy) -> PI --> ECC(Proxy)
    In PI make a SOAP lookup. The response of the SOAP lookup will contain the response given by the WebService (it can be a vaid response or an application error in WebService). Now map this response to the proxy...In this way you can handle the application error msgs from webservice..
    I hope this helps you...

    All my certificates on the Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 servers are from my local CA.
    I use APP with the public certificates as my reverse proxy for people connecting from outside the network.
    In Lync, the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate created through the Lync deployment wizard is issued to domainname.local (my primary sip domain) and the Subject Alternative names include domainname.co.uk
    I then exported this certificate to the Exchange Server and use the Set-AuthConfig to use this certificate for OAuth.
    from what I read this was what I was supposed to do.
    is this correct?
    I have tried so many things I don't know what do to next.
    Should the OAuth certificate in exchange be the one exported from Lync?
    In Lync, should the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate include the servername or lyncserver.domainname.local or just be domainname.local like it is at the moment?

    Thomas,
    thanks for giving this the time. I have run the Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 script following by remove-PartnerApplication so many times that I was wondering if there are other setting that
    Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 creates that aer not removed when you run
    remove-PartnerApplication.
    is there a way to completely remove everything that is confirmed when you run
    Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 so I can run Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 without there being any configurations left from when I previously run that command?
    thanks
    jack

  • Adobe Document Service Configuration Issue

    Hi All,
    Actually we have installed SAP ADS 7.4 ON SAP NetWeaver 7.4 JAVA STACK HUB
    SYSTEM.
    I did the configuration as per the SAP Standard documents. The ABAP
    connection in ADS is working but ADS configuration in an ABAP environment
    is not working.
    While I am executing the form in SFP, I am getting the error message:
    ADS:com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin(200101).
    While I am testing the ADS configuration in ABAP environment, I am getting the error:
    ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException:com.adobe.Processin(200101).
    While I am checking the Destination service in SAP ECC I am getting theerror: SYSTEM ERROR:
    ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException:com.adobe.ProcessingException: XMLFM Exception during render:com.adobe.ProcessingException(200,101).
    For the above issues I raised ticket to SAP. They suggested below steps, So I did the first three steps but I don't know how to do the 4th and 5th steps means how to copy the and extract the files.
    1. Shutdown J2EE engine
    2. Rename the folder
    /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap
    to antoher folder name (ex. adssap.old)
    3. Start J2EE engine
    4. Make sure XMLFormService_native.zip is copied under os_libs fold
    during starting up engine (synchronize phase)
    5. Also make sure XMLform.exe is extracted under
    /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService/bin
    Please help me from where to copy the zip file mentioned in 4th step and find the attachments for error screen shots for reference.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Ravikiran.

    Hi Varun,
    Actually we installed ADS in NW 7.4 and while I am doing configuration I am getting the above issues.
    While I am executing the any form means (standard also) I am getting the same issues.So I think it is may be configuration issue.
    I raised ticket to SAP with the below error they suggested above five steps.
    ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin(200101).
    Thanks&Regards,
    Ravikiran.

  • Business Service SOAP Fault ignored by ALSB

    I have a SOAP service specifically returning a SOAP fault. ALSB doesn't recognize it as an fault and continues processing as if everything is OK.
    Does anyone know how to get ALSB to recognize a SOAP fault for what it is? Here's the response returned to ALSB:
    <SOAP-ENV:Fault xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <faultactor/>
    <faultcode>SOAP-ENV:</faultcode>
    <faultstring>TEST ERROR 1</faultstring>
    <detail>
    <NS1:EOSGAPIError xsi:type="NS1:EOSGAPIError" xmlns:NS1="urn:eschelon.com/osg/1_0-OSGAPILib">
    <exceptionClassName xsi:type="xsd:string">Exception</exceptionClassName>
    <method xsi:type="xsd:string"/>
    </NS1:EOSGAPIError>
    </detail>
    </SOAP-ENV:Fault>

    Let me clarify: If I perform a "route" to the SOAP service, the fault returns and is passed along as the new body of the message - no errors detected.
    If I do a "service callout" to the SOAP service, I get a BEA-382501 error "ALSB Service Callout action received an unrecognized response".
    Any ideas why ALSB does not recognize the soap fault that it receives in the response?
    Here's the fault contents, you can see the soap fault returned in the detail element:

    <con:path>request-pipeline</con:path>

  • HR Employee Address Change BAPI - CONFIGURATION ISSUE

    Dear HR Gurus,
    I have a typical issue in BAPI_ADDRESSEMPUS_CHANGE:
    I am trying to change/update employee address using the above bapi from non-SAP application.  I have tested this scenario on 4 different SAP instances.  The BAPI work fine on 2 different instance 1) 4.6C and 2) 4.7
    And It doesn't work on the other two instances 1) 4.7 and 2) 5.0 .  I get : [Mesg: Processing in SAP failed. BAPI returned message: Type: "E", Number: "055", Text:"Make an entry in all required fields".], Even though i am entering the same values as i enterd while testing with other two instances.
    I guess, If this is a bug SAP would have fixed it in 4.7 or 5.0 at least, since one of our 4.6C instance works fine.  I believe it's a CONFIGURATION ISSUE.
    Any one of you encountered this problem ever?  Any thoughts on this would highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Madan

    Hi Madan,
    You are right, it looks like a configuration issue. Config dictates which screens and which fields of those screens are required, optional or not displayed. From your description, it looks like the config on two of them matches with your input and in the other two, it does not. Check the config. Here is the path.

  • BPM:  System_Error" SOAP fault message received

    Hi,
    We upgraded SAP system from 4.7 to ERP2004 on 09/17/05.
    We have XI-3.0 version from last 9 months and this BPM was working good so far. We have not changed anything in it except we upgraded the SAP system.
    We are using ABAP proxy from SAP to send "userid"

    In the first step when it is sending data to XI an exception is raised and in the second step when it tries to make synchronous call to SAP we are getting error:

    Hi,
    Can you paste the full error message. Also take a look at the default trace log in Visual Admin. Set the logging for soap to debug.
