Permanent timeouts for 10 set of documents

I've been experimenting with DocumentDB and have added a couple of documents. Document Explorer won't load anymore (I'm assuming it times out, but it simply just loads for a while then display nothing but "Load more") and Query Explorer just times
out every time. I think I broke something...
What I was attempting to do was the following: simple chat application that appends chat messages to a document until it hits the document limit and then creates a new document and continues there. This logic is in a stored procedure. I tested using some
large messages, the roll over worked as expected and for a short while I was able to see the document and query the db without problems then this happened.
I've returned to the project about after two weeks and it's still showing this behaviour.
The portal tile for DocumentDB ist generally a bit sluggish, lot's of refreshing required (even on the not affected database) - not sure if that was the case when I started out.
Was I doing something wrong? Is it because by documents close to the maximum allowed size?

Update: I've replayed the same scenario with less text and I have a single document that has 141KB and this is causing intermittent timeouts but very similar behaviour to the other database. The document in question is: dbs/JeMAAA==/colls/JeMAAION4gA=/docs/JeMAAION4gAgAAAAAAAAAA==/

I have a single user, 1 CU and I'm not sure what you mean by comments (if you mean attachments, then we have none).
Based on your explanation I understand that I should try to avoid larger documents.
Is there anyway to measure the size of the document in order to facilitate a roll over to a new file when a threshold has been reached? (Comparable to log rolling maybe.) So far I only know about the error you get when you execute replaceDocument with a
file that's too large, but I don't think the SDK provides a way measuring the size? (Or should I simply calculate this on the my side before running replaceDocument?).
Conceptual question: in a scenario where I have a large number of small messages (say for example a chat) would you advise to have each message be it's own document instead of grouping these messages into a document? Is there a limit applied to the number
of documents per collection during preview? Will there be during the preview?

If this is the case, then how can i point my browser to the server is it by the context root only?

Timeout for setting flag to TPETIME

tpgetrply() will wait for the reply of tpacall(). When waiting for that, timeout may happen. If tpgetrply fails and tperrno is set to TPETIME(unless flag is set to TPNOTIME), timeout will happen.
My question is that if flag is not set, whether timeout will happen or not?

The TPNOTIME flag needs to be set on both the tpacall() and the tpgetrply() in order to avoid blocking timeout. (As mentioned in the documentation, it is still possible for a transaction timeout to happen if your application is in a transaction.)
If a particular tpacall() is expected to take longer than other calls but is eventually expected to complete, you may want to consider the use of the tpsblktime() API, which is available in Tuxedo 9.0 and later. tpsblktime() lets you set a blocktime on a per-call basis, which will give the long-running call the time it needs to complete while ensuring that your application will not hang indefinitely waiting for a reply.

Setting timeout for all the web test scripts in the solution

Hello,
I have around 16 web test scripts (using VSTS 2010 ultimate version) in my project (in a solution). By default the timeout set for each request is 60 sec. I need to increase the timeout to 180 sec. Currently, I am clicking on each request and modifying
the timeout parameter from the Properties window.
Is there any common setting for timeout available which would be acting across all the scripts?

We only can set Timeouts for a separate request in Visual Studio Web Test. There is no way to set Timeout for all requests in VS IDE. But you can write you own logic code using
Timeout Property in a web test plugin to set Timeout for all requests in a web test.

Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis.

Set a timeout for "read from text file"

I Need to read from a text file on a remote pc and use the read from text file function to do this. It wotks but sometimes this pc is down causing long wait times in my vi.
Is there a way to set a timeout for the read from text file function, or is there an other solution?

You could check that the path is valid first before you attempt to read the file. hen put the file read in a True-False case structure based on the results of the check. You can use the function "Check if File or Folder Exists" It checks whether a file or folder exists on disk at a specified path. This VI works with standard files and folders as well as files in LLB files. The function is found in the File I/O --> Advanced File Functions palette.

Please suggest me the way to set print option for a Billing document for T-code VF02 and please let me know how to get print preview for any particular Billing document?

Enter the billing documents detail
Goto Goto> Header>Output.
Check the status for your output type in this screen.
If it is green then come back to the VF03 screen.Enter the billing document number.
Click on Billing document-->Issue output to.
Press (CtrlShiftF1) or click on the icon beside "Print options".
Here you can see the print preview.
If the status is red then click on the processing log.Here you will get the error messages.
If the status is in yellow colour,then click on the "Further Data" button
Set "Dispatch time" as "4 Send immediately (when saving the application)"
Before the print preview option you should make sure you have added correct output type to the relevant billing document. To do that, go to transaction VF02.
Enter the billing document no
Go to Menu option -> Go to -> Header -> Output
In that screen you have to add relevant output type. (Standard output type is RD00)
Add that & press enter key
Highlight that line & press "Further Data" button
Set "Dispatch time" as "4 Send immediately (when saving the application)"
Press "Back" Button
again select that line & go to "Communication method" button
Set "Logical destination" as LOCAL"
Don't mark "Print immediately" & "Release after output" ticks. If you mark them, sa soon as you save the billing document, you'll get a print out.
Press "Back" Button
Save
Now form the initial "Change Billing Document" screen, Go to Menu option; Billing Document -> Issue Output to
You can see that output type line appear.
select that line & press "Print Preview" button or (CTRLSHIFTF1)
You can see the print preview.
Alternatively you can use VF31 to print multiple print outs at same time.
If you want to get PDF outputs of billing documents, go to your printer settings in the your computer from Control Panel.
Set PDF Writer as "Default Printer" (Right click & select "Set as Default Printer")
Then normal way, print the billing from SAP.
It'll automatically send to your PDF writer. You can save it to the path you want,

Session timeout is 20 minutes and cannot be changed. In fact it is configured at the platform level.

Setting timeout for SOAP requests in a webservice client

I am trying to set the timeout for a synchronous SOAP request sent to a Web Service deployed on weblogic 8.1 SP2. I tried setting timeout thru bindinginfo setTimeout() and also javax.xml.rpc.Stub _setProperty(). Both of them seem to be not working. I set the value to as low as 1 sec but i still donot get a timeout. Other properties/method from these two classes work fine though (like endpointaddress property in javax.xml.rpc.Stub and setVerbose flag to true in BindingInfo).
Can someone please help.

Our application calls the webservice provided by another company over the internet using the ssl. We use the wsdl url of the webservice on the destination while creating the port. If the destination is not available statement which creates the port blocks for around 4 minutes.
I think the first network call gets the wsdl from the remote server. Thus we encounter delays before getting the stub created. How can I timeout such a calls.

Excel 2010: I get the error message "This file can't be previewed because of an error in the Microsoft Excel previewer." even though Advanced Properties is set to Save Thumbnails for all Excel Documents.

Setting content server for storing PPM documents

Hi Folks,
We have followed the steps outlined the PPM config doc for setting up the content server (pages 117). Summary of the steps are shown below. (We are on PPM5.0)
Creating a Content Server Entry
1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server Basis Services
Knowledge Provider Content Management Service Define Content
Repositories , choose Content Repository Display/Change .
2. Choose Content Repository Create .
3. Enter a name and a description for the content server.
4. Enter CFF in the Document Area field and HTTP in the Storage Type field.
Creating a Storage Category for a Repository
1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server Basis Services
Knowledge Provider Content Management Service Define Content Categories
, choose New entries.
2. Enter a name and description, and then enter CFF in the Document Area field.
3. Enter the name of the newly-created content repository in the Content Repository
field.
Setting the new Content Server as the Default Storage Category
1. Choose transaction DMWB.
2. Choose model area CFF in the tree.
3. Navigate to PHIO-classes, node CFF_VERSION_V.
4. Change the standard attribute STORAGE_CATEGORY from CFFCONTENT to the
category you have defined above.
5. Repeat this for node CFF_ADD_FILES_V and for CFF_VERS in node
CFF_VERSION_V.
After doing the above steps I did the following tests.
1. Tried to access documents stored at the portfolio item level before doing the above content server config. I was able to access the documents which leads me to believe that files are still getting stored in the DB.
2. Checked the table CFF_CONT before and after storing a 1kb file and the number of entries increased by 2, which again leads me to believe the file is not stored in the content server.
Appreciate any input on whether we have followed the correct steps and if there is a better way check if files are actually being stored in the content server.

Why didn't it work for you when you posted your 1st post, and now is is working? Is there some installation or Add-on that we need you have? Is there any Basis system parameters that we need to put?

jdom's document class provides a setDocType(String, String) function to set the DTD for the document.
Is there anything similar in dom?
The javadocs only mentions a getDocType() for the document interface in org.w3c.dom.Node interface. Is there any way I can SET the document type (DTD) for a given document object?

Set request timeout for distributed cache

Coherence provides 3 parameters we can tune for the distributed cache
tangosol.coherence.distributed.request.timeout      The default client request timeout for distributed cache services
tangosol.coherence.distributed.task.timeout      The default server execution timeout for distributed cache services
tangosol.coherence.distributed.task.hung      the default time before a thread is reported as hung by distributed cache services
It seems these timeout values are used for both system activities (node discovery, data re-balance etc.) and user activities (get, put). We would like to set the request timeout for get/put. But a low threshold like 10 ms sometimes causes the system activities to fail. Is there a way for us to separately set the timeout values? Or even is it possible to setup timeout on individual calls (like get(key, timeout))?

not necessarily for get and put methods, but for queries, entry-processor and entry-aggregator and invocable agent sending, you can make the sent filter or aggregator or entry-processor or agent implement PriorityTask, which allows you to make QoS expectations known to Coherence. Most or all stock aggregators and entry-processors implement PriorityTask, if I correctly remember.
