Personalizing/extending LOV Mappings

Hi,
We have a need to delete a seeded LOV mapping. Oracle support/development suggests we remove the mapping from the page (mds XML file).
I tried to see if there is any personalization option, buit does not look like we can personalize the LOV mappings.
1) Can we replace the standard LOV attched to an input field with a custom LOV
2) Is there any method available to remove the mapping?
Thanks,
Ashish

Hi,
To personalize LOV region, we need to navigate to
funcitonal administrator--> personalization--> give the path of LOV region--> and click on personalize..
Thanks,
raghav.

  • OAF : LOV mappings do not execute for specified default value in the LOV

    Dear All,
    I know the topic of default value in an LOV has been discussed a million times.
    Please bear with me -
    I set the "Initial Value" property for an LOV to populate a default value in the LOV field when the page loads. This works fine
    My LOV has about 4 lov mappings that populate 4 "formValue" items on my page.
    However, for the default value, these mappings are not executed and the formValue items remain empty. (Though the default value shows up fine on the screen)
    Do I have to explicitly default these formValue items as well ? Is there anyway to get the mappings to execute ?
    Thanks,
    Gagan

  • Extending LOV VO - is it always possible?

    I am attempting to extend a VO used into a LOV within iProc 11.5.10. I have successfully done this a number of times now within this module. Following these exact steps I am attempting to do this again with the Project LOV on the checkout summary page but to no avail. The steps I am following are as follows:
    - Create a new VO which extends the original VO ('ProjectAllLovVO') including the additional data items in the query.
    - Define the substitution with the project business component settings.
    - Copy the new VO XML to the Apps tier file system under a path registered under the JServ classpath.
    - Load the subsitution using the JPX load utility.
    - Create a personalisation adding a new data item for the new fields.
    When I try and query the new LOV I get the following error:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition XxuomOrgName of type Attribute not found
    Everything is spelt correctly and files are in the correct locations.
    My question is: can all VO's be extended? I am thinking that there is something different about this VO / LOV that is preventing the new VO from being seen.
    Any help appreciated.
    Jon.

    Thanks.
    When I compare this personalisation with one that I know works there is a difference in that the one which works specifies a "package":
    - The one which works:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <customization xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/jrad" xmlns:ui="http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/ui" xmlns:oa="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oa" xmlns:user="http://xmlns.oracle.com/user" version="9.0.3.8.11_1183" xml:lang="en-US"
    customizes="/oracle/apps/icx/lov/server/ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVO" package="/oracle/apps/icx/lov/server/customizations/site/0">
    <replace with="/uom/oracle/apps/icx/lov/server/XXUOMExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVO"/>
    </customization>
    - The one which doesn't work:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <customization xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/jrad" xmlns:ui="http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/ui" xmlns:oa="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oa" xmlns:user="http://xmlns.oracle.com/user" version="9.0.3.8.11_1183" xml:lang="en-US"
    customizes="/oracle/apps/icx/lov/server/ProjectAllLovVO">
    <replace with="/uom/oracle/apps/icx/lov/server/XXUOMProjectAllLovVO"/>
    </customization>
    Also I am not able to view the loaded substitutions as the "about this page" link is not available on the LOV page. Is there anyway to enable this for LOV regions so that I am sure it is being loaded? Is the reference to a "package" above important? If so how do I go about specifying this in the substitution?
    Thanks again.
    Jon.

  • Extending LOV that is used in multiple places

    Hi,
    I am planning to extend organization VO in iRecruitment (vacancy creation) to restrict the LOV based on organization type. This LOV is very common and is using in multiple places in he application.
    I am new to this and i need to know that by extending such kind of LOV, will the affect appear on the whole application where this LOV is using or only at particular place ???
    Regards
    Ayaz

    Anoop,
    Responsibility : Recruiter Home
    Function : Vacancy Creation / Vacancy Search
    Page : /oracle/apps/irc/vacancy/webui/VacSrchPG.VacancySearchQuery.IRC_ORGANIZATIONS_LOV
    VO Name : oracle.apps.irc.lov.server.OrganizationsLovVO
    Is it possible to extend the VO so that it will affect on vacancy search page ONLY as i want to restrict the search on the basis of login in user organization id only.
    But while creating this will work as it is.
    Regards
    Ayaz

  • Extending LOV

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to restrict the LOV values based on Location.
    1. I have exteneded the VO to include the where condition.
    2. I have extended the CO to pass the new where condition.
    3. I have extended teh AM Implementation Class.
    4. I have modified the PG (ChangeLocLovRN.xml) and attached the custom VO, Custom CO, and Custom AM. I have uploaded the page into the Application Server.
    5. Bounced the Apache.
    when I tried to test, below error is prompted.

    Cross Check you are setting the where clause of query to "" and it is expecting the Number format.

  • Extending LOV View Object

    Hi Guys,
    Requirement - I have an oaf page which has got details like customer name and number which are styletext. Same page has got an lov Filed called contract number. Currently if i search by giving % in contract number lov field , its giving me all the contracts.
    Now my requirement is that i want to allow user to be able to search only those contract which are related to that particular customer. ie i have to capture the customer number or name at run time and display contracts related to that customer only without giving any value. Customer name or number will keep on changing. So i have to capture that value from main page and display contracts related to that customer in LOV page so that user can select only those contracts which are related to that customer.
    Thanks,
    Rajeev Singh Rajput

    The second 2 errors were solved by copying the ExpenditureTypeNoAwardLovVORowImpl.class to my myclasses directory under oracle/apps/icx/lov/server and then recompiling.
    I'm still not sure why an empty .java file was added to my project causing the first error. I was doing this extension on a machine with Windows 2000 and I had created a new workspace (other than toolbox.jws) when I got this error. When I did the same extension on a machine with Windows XP and in the toolbax.jws workspace, the empty .java file didn't get added to my project and I didn't get the first compile error. Not sure if one of these variables was the cause.

    on the first option I mean you can add new region  programaticaly like this on Processrequest
                OAStackLayoutBean newLocationLovs=
                    (OAStackLayoutBean)createWebBean(pageContext
                                                        ,"/yandex/oracle/apps/csi/instance/location/webui/YaLocationLovsRN"
                                                        , "xxnewLocationLovs"
                                                        ,true);
                  webBean.addIndexedChild(newLocationLovs);

  • How does one create LOV Map between 2 fields for custom lookup mapping

    Hi there
    In Internet Expenses, Expense Report Line Detail we have two unrelated fields; namely Expense Location & Tax Code.
    The requirement is to map a default tax code to locations; basically when a user enters Expense Location then the mapped tax code value should default into field Tax Code.
    The location-tax code mapping is stored in a custom lookup (FND_LOOKUP_VALUES).
    My question is how does one go about implementing this?  For example is it possbile to create a new (hidden) LOV based on the lookup mapping & then create a Personalization LOV Mapping between the 3 LOV...  Or is it necessary to modify the Tax Code drop down Message Choice in JDeveloper?  Of course details are appreciated!
    FYI below is the relevant Personalization Structure from "Personalize Stack Layout: (NormalDetails)".
    Message Lov Input: Expense Location
    - Lov Mappings
    -- Lov Map: (lovMap1)
    -- Lov Map: (lovMap2)
    -- Lov Map: (lovMap3)
    - Message Text Input: Expense Location
    - Message Styled Text: Transaction Location
    - Message Text Input: Merchant Name Yes
    - Message Styled Text: Description
    - Message Check Box: Original Receipt Missing Yes
    - Message Choice: Tax Code
    - Message Check Box: Amount Includes Tax
    - Message Choice: Tax Code
    Many thanks
    G

    Hello all
    The correct & supported method is this:
    Extend the location LOV in JDeveloper & add a "default tax" attribute, this could be derived from a new location DFF storing the default tax code for each location. Now simply create a location Personalization LOV Map which takes this new location lov tax attribute & target it to the tax message choice field.
    That's my 2c worth anyway, so please give comment if you feel there is a better way.
    There is just one more little problem however... The requirement has changed! Now we require the tax code to default according to not one location field, but other fields too. For example if the user selects Expense Type of Beverage & Location of Netherlands then Tax Code should be NL19%, for Expense Type of Hotel then it should be NL6%; if the user ticks "Missing Receipt" field then it should over ride all others & set the code to NL0%.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks

  • OAF: *PG.xml is read-only. Unable to extend the LOVRN to add lovmappings

    Hello All,
    I am trying to extend the PG.xml to add additional lovmappings using JDev. But the PG.xml is readonly. Unable to create new items on lovmappings!
    I have imported all the server.xml for the VO extension. That worked fine. ( I tried to add the new lovmappings using Personalization but with NO LUCK! ).
    So, now I am trying to add the lovmappings using JDev and am unable to create new lovmappings! The whole PG.xml is readonly (except the Privacy and others on the footer! ).
    So I opened only the PG.xml and the concerned LovRN.xml from myprojects/oracle/apps directory! along with all the myclasses/oracle/apps xml files.
    So Do I need to bring in anything else into my project to make the lovmapping to create new items ???
    Please help...
    Thanks,
    Francis

    Ramkumar,
    This is what I am trying to do!
    I extended the LovVO and deployed it successfully to application. I could see and use the newly added fields in the LOV region. That works fine.
    The requirement is:
    I want to populate the newly added field values from Lov region to the base page. This is what I did.
    1. Added the 2 new "Message Styled Text" items (from the extended VO) in the LOV region ( But not rendedred! )
    2. Added 2 new "Message Styled Text" items on the base page to populate the values from the LOV region.
    3. On the base page, personalizing the LOV (lovMappings) to inherit the values from the LOV region.
    >> Created 2 new lovmappings to inherit the 2 new values from the LOV region extended VO. ( Here the "LOV Region Item" {the itemID from the LOV region that I want to bring back and populate} and "Return Item" {the itemID on the base page that I want the value to get populated} are the only fields I entered other than the ID column! )
    5. Bounced the apache.
    -- After doing this, logged back in and tried the LOV, it doesn't populate the inherited values to the newly created items on the base page.
    Thanks for all the help.

  • How to bind variables to a LOV query

    Hi,
    I have a page with a messageLOVInput field. I have attached an external LOV with it. The query attached to the LOVregion has a bind parameter which should be replaced by the logged in Person's Business Group ID.
    I have done all the required LOV Mappings etc for a normal LOV.
    If I hardcode the business group ID and then run the page, its working fine. But if I want to bind the businessgroup id at runtime, I am getting an error saying "all variables not bound"
    I tried the usual method of calling some initMethod in AM from the CO of the external LOV region, and then calling some initQuery in the VO to set the bind parameter, but this doesn't work.
    How do I bind variables at runtime with the LOV VO ?
    Thanks, in advance !!
    -Debojyoty

    Hi Deb,
    Heres what you gotta do.
    By default the query is going to be executed in the EO . In case of a query without any bind variables this works fine. This is because for LOV EO's one doenst' have to explicitly call the the executequery method. In your case, there is one bind variable that needs to be set, before any query is fired, either implicitly or explicitly else you are going to get Bind variable not set exception.
    1. Define an init query method in your EOImpl.
    public void initQuery(String p_param)
    setWhereClause(null);
    setWhereClauseParams(null);
    setWhereClauseParam(0,p_param);
    2. Define a method for initializing the query. In your AM IMPL for the LOV, recieve the EOIMPL and call the initquery method and pass the parameter that you would to base the query upon.
    3. In the CO for the LOV, call the AMimpl Method defined in step 2.
    Let me know if this works ? If you still have problems, I will post some sample code.

  • The LOV modal window could not return value to the base page

    when practicing the "create1" task in tutorial, met an issue.
    when create an employee, manageName is a messageLovInput and managerID is a messageTextInput.
    The issue is the LOV modal window could not return value to the mangerName, but can return to managerID .
    If I remove the data boud porperties of the managerName (the bc4j porperties of view name-EmpFullVO and view attribute-MgrName), the lov works fine.
    What is the reason?

    James I would suggest to read the LOV topic in OAF developers' guide. Lov mappings are responsible for bringing pop up values to base page in LOV.

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a LOV item (personalised/CO extension) in a seeded OAF page.
    When I am trying to do from Create Item option of personalised page then I cannot find the option for creating the LOV mappings.
    When I am trying to create it by CO extension then there is an error that it cannot fetch the values, though I have created a customised Region with a customised LOV and by programming attaching it in the said region.
    Please suggest.

    Which version are you using? I believe that adding regions started from CU2. Confirm this.
    Did you set the profle FND:OA Enable Defaults? This may not be the cause for your error but I got some LOV map errors because of this. There is a thread in the forum on this.
    Ensure that your path and spelling are correct. The error shows ...CostPG. Should it be ...RN perhaps? LOV Regions are usually called RN.
    If all else fails open a tar.

    Hi,
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean); OAMessageLovInputBean lovInput =
    (OAMessageLovInputBean)createWebBean(pageContext, LOV_TEXT, null,"inputTest");
    webBean.addIndexedChild(lovInput);
    // Specify the path to the base page.
    lovInput.setAttributeValue(REGION_CODE, "/oracle/apps/dem/webui/Basic");
    // Specify the application id of the base page.
    lovInput.setAttributeValue(REGION_APPLICATION_ID, new Integer(20001));
    // Specify the LOV region definition.
    lovInput.setLovRegion("/oracle/apps/fnd/framework/toolbox/tutorial/webui/EmployeesLovRN", 0);
    // Validation should be enabled for LOVs unless it's essential for the field to allow a partial value (in a "Search" region, for example).
    lovInput.setUnvalidated(false);
    // Configure the LOV mappings.
    // Note that you must call this method after you add the messageLovInput item
    // to the web bean hierarchy.
    lovInput.addLovRelations(pageContext, "inputTest", // base page item
    "Empname", // lov item
    LOV_RESULT, // direction
    LOV_REQUIRED_NO);
    lovInput.addLovRelations(pageContext, "inputTest", // base page item
    "Empname", // lov item
    LOV_CRITERIA, // direction
    LOV_REQUIRED_NO);

  • Adding DFF to table as an LOV field

    I am trying to add an LOV field as a new column to a table on an iAssets page. The new LOV field is a DFF. Using personalizations, I try to add an LOV field of messageLovtInput, to the table region of the page but I get a message: Unable to find component with absolute reference = /xxsd/oracle/apps/ia/lov/webui/xxsdAssetAssgndToLovRN. The file: xxsdAssetAssgndToLovRN.xml exists in the directory. I found a reference to this error message and there was a suggestion to import the file to the MDS repository. I ran jpximport but got a message: No Documents imported.
    I have created a new AM, created an LOV VO, added my VO to my AM, created an LOV region, defined the LOV mappings.
    We are running eBusiness r12.1.3. I am unable to get past this error. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Emily
