Photoshop Elements 8: Ebenen

Hallo,
ich probiere die Testversion von Photoshop Elements 8 aus und komme bei einem vermutlich ganz einfachen Problem nicht weiter: Ich habe eine Unterschrift in Gelb auf weißem Hintergrund. Ich will lediglich den Hintergrund grau haben. Farbe ersetzen gibt kein gutes Ergebnis. Also versuche ich es mit Ebenen, scheitere aber daran. Ich schaffe lediglich, dass das Gelb durch die graue Ebene schimmert. Vermutlich müsste ich Hinter- und Vordergrund tauschen, aber laut Hilfe soll ich im Ebenenbedienfeld auf die Hintergrundebene doppelklicken und dann „Ebene“ > „Neu“ > „Ebene aus Hintergrund“ wählen. Dieser Dialog erscheint bei mir aber nicht. Liegt es an mir oder an Photoshop Elements 8? Hilft mir jemand bitte?

Hallo Anselm,
ich verstehe deine Vorgehensweise nicht recht. Ohne Auswahl kannst du noch so viele Ebeneneffekte probieren. Da wird nichts draus.
Mein Vorschlag: Nimm den Zauberstab und stelle eine sehr niedrige Toleranz ein (<5, je nach dem, wie hell und gleichmäßig das Gelb der Unterschrift* ist). Ggf. die Auswahl noch anpassen (>abrunden, weiche Auswahlkante) und dann auf eine neu angelegte Ebene kopieren. Unter der freigestellten Ebene eine neue Ebene anlegen und mit dem gewählten Grauton füllen.
* dass die Unterschrift in gelb (!) angelegt ist, lässt mich fast vermuten, dass der/die Unterzeichnende eine Manipulation der Signatur verhindern wollte. Bist Du sicher, dass die Änderung in seinem Sinne geschieht?

Wie Ebenen ausrichten in Photoshop Elements 4?

Hallo,
ich finde einfach eine Funktion im Photoshop Elements nicht - oder gibt's die gar nicht (kann ich mir eigentlich kaum vorstellen)??
Und zwar möchte ich Ebenen ausrichten.
Beispielsweise wenn ich in ein Bild ein anderes, kleineres Bild als Ebene importiere -> dann möchte ich z.B. dass diese Ebene genau mittig (also horizontal und vertikal zentriert) auf der Hintergrundfläche erscheint.
Bislang muss ich die Ebene nervig mit der Maus von Hand hin und her ziehen, bis ich glaube (oder am Raster halbwegs sehe), dass sie mittig sitzt.
Ebenso, wenn ich zwei Ebenen zueinander ausrichten möchte, z.B. ein Bild und eine Text-Ebene, so dass diese vertikal untereinander, aber horizontal mittig zueinander stehen. Oder auch beides genau rechtsbündig zueinander.
Auch hier bin ich derzeit nur mit Mausschieberei halbwegs zum Ziel gekommen.
Das kann doch nicht die Lösung sein?
Wo ist denn die Ausrichten-Funktion versteckt?

Mngels PSE 4 kann ich nur einen Ausschluss-Hinweis geben:
Wenn im Menü Ebene kein Punkt enthalten ist, der das Ausrichten möglich macht, dann gibt es diese Funktion auch nicht.
Das mittig ausgerichtete Einfügen von Bildteilen ist möglich: Wenn man Bearbeiten/Ausschneiden (Kopieren) + Bearbeiten > Einfügen verwendet, landet das eingefügte Objekt in der Bildmitte.
Beim Ziehen von einem Bild in ein anderes hält man die Umschalttaste gedrückt > auch dann landet das gezogene Objekt in der Bildmitte.
Für das Beispiel mit dem Text gibt es keine elegante Lösung.
Insgesamt muss man sich damit abfinden, dass in PSE diverse Funktionen fehlen, die bei anderen Programmen der gleichen Preisklasse schon seit Jahren enthalten sind.

Rahmen mit Photoshop elements 2.0

Wie kann ich am besten mit photoshop elements 2.0 einen Rahmen um´s Bild setzen?
Ich habe hier ein englischsprachige Rezept,-leider finde ich in meiner deutschsprachigen Version die entsprechenden Befehle nicht?^

Ich habe nur PS EL 3, da ist der Befehl so:
Zuerst gehen Sie unter Ebenen und klicken doppelt auf Hintergrund, dieser wird zur Ebene 0.
Bild: Skalieren: Arbeitsfläche
Dann klicken Sie "Relativ" an, geben Ihren Wert, den der Rahmen haben soll ein.
Dann erstellen Sie in der Ebenenpalette eine neu Ebene, ziehen Sie diese unter Ebene 0 und geben dieser die Farbe oder das Muster oder ... wie Sie wollen.

Photoshop Elements 6 und Lightroom

Hallo zusammen, habe Lightroom und Photoshop Elements 6 und hatte gehofft damit würde es besser funktionieren .Zum einen klappt das Zusammmenspiel mit LR und PS Elements 6 nicht da ich von LR aus meine Bilder nicht an Photoshop Elements 6 übergeben kann das diese Option nicht anklickbar ist was natürlich nervt da es Produkte von Adobe sind und diese normalerweise funktionieren sollten.Zum anderen kommt das in Photoshop Element 6(Mac) das man das Fenster nicht hin und her ziehen kann zwischen den Monitoren.Jemand eine Lösung parat?Wäre euch dankbar.

leider bin ich als blutige anfängerin auch keine hilfe, hätte aber zum pse6 auch ein paar fragen:
1. wo ist denn bitte das pfadwerkzeug?
2. wie kann ich das umstellen, das beim speichern meine ebenen nicht immer auf eine reduziert werden?
und hier noch eine frage, deren antwort ich seit beginn des forums suche....wie kann ich den meinen account bei adobe und meinen account beim users to users forum löschen???
für antworten wäre ich sehr dankbar, die adobe support seiten machen mich nämlich langsam wahnsinnig, weil ich immer fehlgeleitet werde, oder an den anfang wieder rauskomme.

Problem mit Photoshop Elements 9

Hallöchen,
schonmal vorab, ich habe wirklich nicht viel Ahnung von irgendwelchen Einstellungen.
Ich weiß nur, dass ich Photoshop Elements 9 schon eine ganze Weile habe und
seit seit ner Weile nun irgendwie alles umgestellt wurde oder vllt. sogar "kaputt" ist.
Ich zeichne sehr viel mit dem Programm und natürlich einem Grafiktablett von Wacom.
Folgende Probleme:
Öffne ich ein neues leeres Bild, dann erscheint ja ein weißes Blatt und in den
Ebenen wird "Hintergrund" angezeigt. Auf diesem kann ich nicht mehr zeichnen,
ich hab schon mehrere Pinsel getestet, nur das Füllwerkzeug funktioniert (doll..).
Wenn man dann eine neue Ebene (normal) erstellt, kann man dort nur kurze Striche
ziehen, das hackt auf einmal ab ner gewissen Länge ab.
Außerdem kann man immer nur eine Farbe auf einer Ebene verwenden, wenn man noch eine verwenden
will, muss man noch eine Ebene erstellen (o.O).. geht man mit einer zweiten/anderen Farbe
auf die Ebene, dann kommt eine andere Farbe dabei raus und meistens auch noch
sehr fein und hell, obwohl die Deckkraft bei 100% liegt.
Ich möchte ganz einfach wieder normal zeichnen können, ich verwende die Hintergrundebene
meistens eh nie, aber ich finde es merkwürdig, dass man darauf nichtmal 'nen Punkt
setzen kann.
Wisst ihr, wo das Problem liegt?
Liegt es an irgendwelchen Einstellungen?
Bitte bitte helft mir.

Schon geprüft, welchen Modi deine Problem-Datei hat (8bit oder 16bit, RGB-Modus oder sonstiger Farbraum)?
außerdem:
... Öffne ich ein neues leeres Bild ...
Neu erstellt oder geöffnet? Wenn letzteres - woher stammt die Datei?
Bitte auch daran denken: PSE kann bisher kein CMYK handhaben (mein Kenntnisstand bis Vers. 8)
... seit ner Weile nun irgendwie ...
Wurde seither ein neues Programm installiert oder irgend ein Update gemacht?

Fotomontage eines Bildteiles Photoshop Elements 6

wenn man im Editor Photoshop Elements 6 in einem Foto einen Teil z.B. eine Person ausschneidet (mit Lasso oder Freistellwerkzeug) und diesen, nach Bestätigung, mit dem Handwerkzeug in ein zweites Bild einfüg, dann kommt es immer zu einem rechteckigen Bild: z.B. die ausgeschnittene Person und ein weißer, breiter Rand bis zum Rechteck hin. Wie kann man diesen Rand, der das darunterliegende Bild verdeckt und grau-weiß bleibt, verhindern?

ich glaube fast, dass es sich um Probleme mit Farbmodus bzw. Dateiformaten handelt.
Hast Du überprüft, ob Ausgangs- "und" Zieldatei im RGB-Modus sind. In anderen Farbmodi gibt es meist deutliche Einschränkungen.
Wenn du ein Bild mit Transparenz (z.B. mit dem genannten Karomuster)speichern möchtest, musst Du ein Format verwenden, welches diese auch unterstützt - z. B. Photoshop PSD oder PNG. So bald das Bild mehr Ebenen aufweist oder mehr als 8 bit/Farbe hat, kann aus PSE nur noch *.psd verwendet werden.
Ansonsten komme ich auch nicht weiter, zumal ich noch mit PSE 5 arbeite.

Namenänderung bei Photoshop Elements 7

Hallo zusammen,
habe seit kurzem Photoshop Elements 7, komme auch ziemlich gut damit zurecht, nur ein Problem habe ich noch.
Wenn ich im Organizer über die "Inteligente Auto Korrektur" die Bilder nachbearbeiten lasse, werden die Bilder sofort gespeichert unter den Original Dateinamen mit der Erweiterung - bearbeitet-1 usw... Wie bekomme ich die Erweiterung weg (ausser alle Bilder einzeln im Explorer umzubenennen)?
Ich bearbeite eh nur Kopien, also könnten die Bilder dann mit dem Original Namen gespeichert werden - habe aber leider noch nichts gefunden wo ich das ändern kann... Auch wenn ich auf "Als neue Dateien exportieren" geh kommt der Zusatz "bearbeitet-1" dran :-(

Ich habe die US Version von Elements, kenne mich mit den deutschen Kommandos und Ausdruecken nicht so genau aus...
Etwas muehsam aber vielleicht hift es:
Du kannst im Organizer den Versionensatz auf eine Ebenen reduzieren (die obere), die die bearbeitete Version sein muesste. Dabei geht natuerlich das Original verloren, was aber keine Rolle spielt, wenn das nur eine Kopie ist.
Dann nimm eine Utility fuer die Namenaenderung, ich benutze diese oft, http://a-f-5-rename-your-files.software.informer.com/, und reduziere die Dateinamen um das 'bearbeitet-x'.
Falls du doch die andere Version behalten willst, koenntest du die bearbeiteten Versionen zuerst exportieren und dann die Namenaenderung im neuen Folder vornehmen.

Using Adobe Bridge with Photoshop Elements

I have an iMAC with iLife 08.
I take photos in RAW format with a Nikon camera.
I have been editing photos this way:
After uploading photos to iPhoto, export them as jpg to a new folder on the desktop, external HD or wherever. I open Photoshop Elements, edit the exported photo.
Then I'm stuck with my edits outside of iPhoto, unless I then import them back into iPhoto. It works, but it's cumbersome.
Today I thought I'd try a different route. I opened Photoshop Elements, and tried to use Bridge to browse photos. I can find the iPhoto library easy enough, but if I click on it, it opens iPhoto, and I'm stuck - can't open the photos in Photoshop.
I am hoping that if I do it correctly, I can save my edits directly back into iPhoto.
Any ideas?

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

How many computers can you use one copy of Photoshop Elements 11 on please?

I intend to purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for my two student children. Could you tell me if they will both be able to install in on their respective computers?

I am totally happy with the way iPhoto organizes my photos and how I can work with iMovie to create slide shows with music from iTunes, etc.
I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!
After having these programs sit on my computer, I decided to try to see if I could figure them out. When I opened Aperture, this is what first comes up.

I have heard horror stories about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
So here is my dilemma. I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?

Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop. Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file. For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.

I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

How can I install Adobe Photoshop Elements Update 9.0.3 after I get a message that Installation has failed and the solution is not in troubleshooting or forums?

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

How can I integrate metadata and keywords in Lightroom with those in Photoshop, Bridge, and Photoshop Elements? In other words, is there a way to retrieve common metadata templates from all modules? Thanks!

What I mean by "common metadata", is a unified, updated, most current metadata, which I could update in each program. That is without overwriting the metadata, but appending new keywords to the metadata I created in the previous program.
I use Bridge, then Lightroom and finally Photoshop. That's the regular workflow: Bridge for preliminary sorting and and adding some keywords; Lightroom for organizing and picking the best images; finally, Photoshop for processing. I got Photoshop Elements on trial. Doesn't work for my purposes.
I need to share and update the metadata / keywords when I go from one program into another. Can't retrieve metadata I set up in Bridge into Lightroom. Same happens with Photoshop, where I can't retrieve keywords I add in Lightroom. It's tedious to write up the keywords again.

Unable to View .mod files in Photoshop Elements 11, can see they are there but no picture, I import them into Premiere and all OK ?

I have hundreds of .mod files which are supported but I am unable to view them on my Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I cant see the picture icons as pictures or see the vision when i select them? I am running the latest Windows 8.1 PC with heaps of Ram and memory. If I import the files into Premiere they play fine?

I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.
