PI 7.3 AEX - XI 3.0 message protocol in the SOAP adapter.

Hello,
My client's landscape is on SAP PI 7.3 AEX(Java only installation) and SAP ECC 6.0 EhP4.
I have configured a HTTP-Proxy scenario. For the proxy messages to go into the SAP ECC system, I have configured a SOAP Receiver adapter in PI 7.3 AEX.
I have created a service interface in ESR in PI 7.3 and generated the proxy in the SAP ECC system.
I have configured the SOAP receiver to use the XI 3.0 protocol and by using the Addressing Type as 'URL Address'. The URL that I am using is " http://<SAP_ECC_server>:PORT/sap/xi/engine?type=entry  ".
When I try to test the scenario, the messages are not reaching the target ECC destination and in the SOAP Receiver communication channel, I am getting the following error:
Information:                Delivering to channel: SOAP_RECEIVER
Information:                MP: processing local module localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean
Information:                SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user Guest
Error:                          SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket Information                 SOAP: sending a delivery error ack ...
Now, in my client estate there is also a SAP PI 7.11 system, I have replicated the service interface in the ESR on 7.11 and regenerated the proxy in SAP ECC. When I now run the scenario, it works.
Just stressing here on the point that, the abap proxy generated from SAP PI 7.3 ESR did not work(but worked when I generated the abap proxy from SAP PI 7.11 ESR) when configured using the XI protocol on the SOAP adapter.
ALso, I have gone through the 'Note 1247043 - Release Restrictions for EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1'.
Is the behaviour I am facing a release restriction on SAP PI 7.3
Need suggestions from anyone who has tried configuring this scenario, is there anything that I have missed?
I am happy to share more info if required...
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
Karthik

HI Karthik,
Did you able to resolve this in PI 7.3??
Even i am also facing the same issue in receiver soap adapter for abap server proxy:
SOAP: error occured: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
Please let me know how did u resolve this?
Thanks,
Prasanthi

    Hi!
    First please confirm whether you are working on XI or PI 7.1 ?
    because in XI you need to generate WSDL manaually via Tools>Define Web service-Giving Input..and in XI you need to test the SOAP scenario from external tool like Altova xml spy tool kit or else SOAP client tool.
    In PI 7.1::
    You can publish directly the web service in the SERVICE REGISTRY from sender agreement onwards.
    once it is published you can check the status on your interface in service registry as CONFIGURED..Okay
    Here you can test directly in service registry...
    According to your error check ocne agan even though you gone through all the steps..
    1. Check whether the SOAP service is active or not in SICF>SAP>bc>XI>Service-->SOAP.
    2. sicne after generating wSDL u can get one url right that URL itself acts as  a gateway to enter the source data into XI..
    lets give to the source team to try with XI super uID adn PWD as authentification.
    3. Also please STOP ur communication Channel and start once again.
    4. Please check whether the WEB Service is configured correctly or not.

  • Using Message ID in the SOAP header (Sender)

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is SOAP to IDoc.
    We have requirement to insert the Message ID in the SOAP header for avoiding duplicate messages from the SOAP client.
    Please note SOAP client is unable to support URL parameter, so we have to use Message ID in the SOAP header.
    So please suggest how to insert the Message ID in the SOAP header (WSDL) , and do we need to implement any mapping to retrieve the Message ID value from the SOAP header  - to create a PI message.
    Thanks in advance.
    MK

    But I want to know how we update the WSDL with the required Feild(messageID).
    I dont think you can update the wsdl url to include the messageID field...if you notice the other fields in the wsdl you will find all are static...however your messageID will be dynamic.....so just ask the SOAP client application to append the MessageId field and send the message.....at runtime the message id will be extracted by PI......did you test the scenario?...if no then test it once so that if there is an error we will come to know...

    Abhishek.

  • Message Level Security with SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
    I need to use Message Level Security with my SOAP Adapter. Please let me know if anyone has done the same in the past?
    What are the steps I would need to do? How can I use WSS based security in the SOAP Adapter?

    Hi,
    Message-level security is recommended and sometimes a prerequisite for inter-enterprise communication.
    It improves communication-level security by adding security features that are particularly important for inter-enterprise
    Message-level encryption is required if message content needs to be confidential not only on the communication lines but also in intermediate message stores.

  • Failed in Message Mapping for Sender SOAP Adapter

    I am using a synchronous Sender SOAP adapter for sending SOAP messages using HTTP security protocol. I am trying to send SOAP messages to XI and then to RFC-R/3. And Responses back from RFC to XI and then to SOAP. I am getting an error for failed in message mapping in SXMB_MONI for converting SOAP messages to RFC. When I debug it in Message Mapping in Integration Repository, it works fine.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    I want to send JAXM message from client to server

    SOAPEnvelope envelope = part.getEnvelope();
    SOAPBody body = envelope.getBody();

    2)How do i access the message content in name wise in he case of many messages recived to the server

    * To save a message to a file.
    File file = new File("file.xml");
    msg.writeTo(new FileOutputStream(file));
    * To recreate a message (without attachments) from a file.
    MessageFactory mfactory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    SOAPMessage msg = mfactory.createMessage();
    SOAPPart part = msg.getSOAPPart();
    StreamSource streamSource =
    new StreamSource(
    new FileInputStream("file.xml"));
    part.setContent(streamSource);
    // to view the recreated message
    msg.writeTo(System.out);
    * You should also be able to use DOMSource to recreate the message as:
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document domDoc =
    builder.parse(
    new File("file.xml"));
    Source domSource = new
    javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource(domDoc);
    MessageFactory mfactory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    SOAPMessage msg = mfactory.createMessage();
    SOAPPart part = msg.getSOAPPart();
    part.setContent(domSource);
    Hope this helps.

  • Monitor XML-Messages sent by the XIF adapter

    Hello to everybody,
    I am looking for a possibility to monitor all XML-messages that are sent by the XIF Adapter to external servers. I would like to see the detailed XML messages.
    Does there exist anything?
    Thanks and regards
    Michaela

    Hi Michaela
       XML messages can be sent to the SAP infrastructure where the XML messages can be mapped in to other XML schemata.CRM business connector communication.IDocs should be used:An IDoc transfer is quicker in comparison to SOAP/XML because the IDoc document contains no metadata information(tags)unlike an XML document ,and therefore ,the size of documents sent down line is substainally smaller in comparison.More information about XIF adapter may be found in the SAPNet vai the alias:crm:ci about the external systems.

  • Not able to see Message Content while using SOAP Adapter

    Hi freinds
    I am working on following scenario
    Web Application ---> SOAP Adapter ---> XI ---> RFC Adapter ---> SAP R/3
    Web application is using the WSDL file which I generated from XI.
    Now everything is going fine & I am even getting the XML data in SAP R/3 ( Order is getting created ) but in RWB under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
    Even in SXMB_MONI for that timeframe it is showing " <b>No messages available for selection</b> ".
    Can you tell me why I am not getting the message content & the message itelf in SXMB_MONI. What I need to do in order to get the message content while monitoring.

    As my payload was of 100 records with 15 fields I guessed that this can be the reason I am getting timed out. So next time I just send 2 records & this time no error & everything went fine.
    Now one thing I need to do is to increase the TIMEOUT value with the help of <b>OSS Note 824554</b>.
    But still in RWB ( with 2 records also ) under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
    My objective now, is to display the payload which is coming from Web Application via SOAP Adapter in RWB. Can you help me in this.

    You are connecting into a remote database from an client, but clarify about DBlinks. Do you talking about Database Links objects on a database ?

  • SOAP Adapter - Using Fault Message

    Hi all,
    I have developed a Synchronous Integration Scenario which receives a SOAP request to the SOAP adapter, calls an ABAP proxy in SAP ECC to post some information and return a response or a fault to the sender.
    This all works fine, I am using a fault message in the ABAP proxy to record errors and return them to the SOAP adapter using the fault mapping. Again this all works fine. However when an application error is identified and a fault message returned to thre SOAP adapter, I had expected that the error details in the fault message to be packaged up in a standard SOAP fault and returned to the sender. Instead the fault message details are sent as the payload in the SOAP body of the response.
    Can anyone provide information on if it is possible to return the fault message as a standard SOAP fault instead of in the SOAP body of the response.
    Thanks
    Gary

    Dont think this is possible in standard.
    As an alternate, maybe you can select option Do not use SOAP Enevlope int he sender SOAP Adapter and thereby the entire SOAP Message will enter the mapping and you would need to use a XSL or Java  mapping to strip the SOAP Envlope in the mapping for the request and like wise in the response mapping you would need to add the SOAP Enevlope to the response.
    For the fault message mapping you need not add the SOAP Envelope.
    Not a standard solution, but can be tried if the requirement is really worth it. Otherwise I think the Fault Message will continue to be sent as the payload in the the SOAP Enevlope as this is how the SOAP adapter works.

  • SOAP Adapter + asynchronous message + Runtime Workbench

    Hi
    I have problem with error monitoring in Runtime Workbench -> Message Monitoring
    I have SOAP adapter deployed on Apache Axis.
    I have flow SOAP->XI->SOAP (asynchronous mode)
    It works great until receiver adapter generate error.
    I can see error message in defaultTrace log but in
    Message Monitoring-> Details I see only "SOAP: response message
    contains an error Application/UNKNOWN/APPLICATION_ERROR - application fault".
    SOAP message from receiver adapter (with error) looks like that
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
      <soapenv:Body>
        <soapenv:Fault>
          <faultcode>Client</faultcode>
          <faultstring>Internal Server Error</faultstring>
          <detail>
            <myfaultmessage>
              <type>RABAX_STATE</type>
              <message>Divide by 0 (type 1).</message>
            </myfaultmessage>
            <ns1:hostname xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">pslupkowski</ns1:hostname>
          </detail>
        </soapenv:Fault>
      </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    I'm think that this message is not well formated and
    Adapter Engine can't find some tags during parsing this
    message. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
    I'm just want to see error description from <myfaultmessage> tag in Message Monitoring

    Hi,
    Did you check the log on adapter engine?
    http://<host>:<port>/MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp
    Take a look to this monitor, here you can see both messages (request and response).
    Cheers,
    Ricardo.

  • I need to secure SOAP message sent into SOAP adapter, how to?

    Hi guys,
    My scenario uses SOAP and I need to secure this SOAP message sent into SOAP adapter. As I have read in the documentation, HTTPS is possible only on the SOAP receiver adapter. But my is SENDER.
    COuld you help me please, how to solve it? Or post some link? Or, if you have your own approach, to let me know?
    Thanx, Peter

    Hi,
    you can use SSL with the sender adapter. Please see the extract of the SOAP Adapter FAQ (Note #856597) below:
    <b>Q:</b> Can I use SSL for my sender adapter?
    <b>A:</b> Yes. Normally, the SOAP adapter servlet runs on the engines HTTP port. But you can activate the engine's HTTPS port so that this servlet can receive messages sent to the HTTPS port. See the documentation about the J2EE engine's security configuration.
    I am afraid, I haven't yet tried this myself, so you will need to consult the J2EE documentation.

  • 1:n message mappings using JDBC-soap

    Hi
    The sender is linked using a JDBC adapter and is sending in a message which consists of several rows
    For each row I need to call a webservice using the SOAP adapter.
    How is the message mapping, interface mapping configure to do this
    If I have to use ccBPM, how do you define the loop so that I can loop around each row
    thanks

    Hi.
    You don't need to use a BPM for this, you can use MULTI MAPPING.
    Follow bellow a link about it:
