PI 7.31-ABAP Proxy Alert

Hi All,
Configured the steps mentioned in the below blog to trigger alert for ABAP Proxies.
SAP PI 7.31 : ABAP proxy monitoring and Alerting using CBMA
Tested by stopping the Sender SOAP channel and processed one message from ECC, it ends in error in ECC SXMB_MONI but alert is not getting generated.
Alert Job is running successfully and log is showing "0 alerts had been consumed and aggregated successfully."
Please share your inputs to resolve this issue.
Thanks & Regards
Prakash

Hi Hareesh,
I am also making use of existing connection XI_IDOC_DEFAULT_DESTINATION which is pointing to ECC system
Also alerts are generating for message or communication channel failure in PI.
RFC destination of type 'T' created in ECC and it works fine.
  Any other configurations required?

  • ABAP Proxy Structure

    Hi,
I have SAP server at sender side, XI is my middleware and  two 3rd partyservers on the receiver side.
So,from SAP side data  comes through proxy,I would generate a structure which contains the fields required to send the data to both the receivers. But few fields would used to send the data to one server and some fields to another server.
So, once the data is filled, there would be a segreation process internally writeen in proxy to segregate the data.
So, Now can i use the same structure for all the proxies i generate to send the data or should I generate different structures for each and every interface.
    Thank you,
    Kishore J.

  • Error Handling in Inbound ABAP Proxy with EOIO

    Hi,
    The scenario
I have a File to ABAP Proxy scenario and since the requirement is that the messages have to be processed in a single queue in the SAP system (i.e. EOIO), the sender file channel was configured to be EOIO. This ensures that all messages that enters the SAP system are put in a single queue and then processed one after the other.
    The Issue
Now if one of the messages that enter SAP system fails during the processing in the ABAP program, the queue gets stuck and all messages after that go into a scheduled state. And one has to manually clear the errored message in order to continue processing the other waiting messages.
    The Question
I know this is a default behavior in an EOIO scenario, however is there any way in which if a message fails in the ABAP program then one can automatically push it out of the queue and keep processing the other messages after it ?
    Thanks
    Bharath

As a general rule I only use EOIO when there is a possibility of dependancy between messages (message 1 must be first and finsihed before message 2 starts). Assuming your just moving the errored message asside, I would assume that EOIO should be just EO.
Alternatively, change the ABAP proxy to handle the error and return a clean status. Exception handling (try/catch) should be used were ever dangerous code is being used.
If alerting in the proxy end point is to much trouble - change your proxy to a sync scenario return the error to PI and fire alerts from there <- I think this should be avoided but it will work.
The main point is the exception handling so that the proxy fails "gracefully".

  • Forwarding Application Error in ABAP Proxy to CCMS

    Hi,
We are using fault messages for inbound ABAP proxy interfaces to capture application errors, and we can see the error in the monitoring of ECC. However, Is there a way, we can forward it to CCMS of ECC (and not XI), because we want to use an external tool linked to CCMS via SOLMAN to get alerted in case of application errors.
    Best regards,

Is there a way of getting the above thing done? I have a very similar Issue.

  • Tags dont appear in XI from ABAP Proxy!!

    Hi,
I have an interface which receives the data from SAP to XI via ABAP proxy. There are some fields in the structure which are mandatory in XI and the values are not been passed from SAP. As a result, the tags dont appear when the message enter XI and this results in the message mapping failure.
As a workaround, we are checking for the existence of this field in the incoming message and assigning some constant value to it.
But is this, the only option? do we have any better approaches to tackle this?
    Thanks for all your inputs,
    Regards,
    Vinayak Kamath

    Hi Vinayak,
<i>There are some fields in the structure which are mandatory in XI</i>
In XI, we make the fields mandatory based on the requirement and business rules of the sender side. If u r making it mandatory, that means the sender has requested u to do so. This implies that the sender should send the data according to the specifications it has provided to XI implementer.
So either request the sender to send data according to its specification or change the structure in XI.
If u couldnt do either, handling it in message mapping is good enough.
    <i>
do we have any better approaches to tackle this?</i>
U may also configure alerts for the same

  • ABAP Proxy - Error situation

I am developing inbound ABAP proxy. Using fault message and raise exception, I can safely fail the ABAP proxy without blocking the queues.
If I want to configure ALERT message to be sent to a email id in  this scenario, how do I achieve this? Can this be done using Alert configuration?  or do we need to use BPM? IF BPM is the only alternative, can anybody indicate the BPM steps?

    Hi,
if you want to raise an alert from BPM
have a look at my weblog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/13/alerts-with-variables-from-the-messages-payload-xi--updated
but if you want to send a mail from BPM
use mail adapter then you'll be able to
configure it very easily (even html mails):
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/23/xi-html-e-mails-from-the-receiver-mail-adapter
    - if you want you can also send mail from SAP
    (when you catch the exception)
    - you can also catch the excetpiton and
send the error to the XI and use the mail adapter from
    there - without the BPM
    there are many possibilities:)

  • Java Proxy and ABAP Proxy

    hi,
can any one send me some documents on Java Proxy and ABBAP Proxy
    regards,
    John

    hi,
Proxies are nothing but a mechanism to shift the application logic from the XI server onto the sender or reciever system so as to reduce the effort on the side of XI.Depending upon where the proxies are generated ,it is differentiated as client proxy ( sender ) and server proxy ( receiver ) .In R3 system having WAS 6.2 and above its already has an inbuilt small IE so the proxy generation is favoured and possilbe, for more on this please go thru the following links
Proxies: are interfaces which will get executed in the application system. They can be created only in the system from message interfaces using the proxy generation functions.
The biggest advantage of the proxy is that it always by passes the Adapter Engine and will directly interact with the application system and Integration engine - so it will and should give us a better performance.
The literal definition of a proxy is an object / process authorized to act for another; an agent or a substitute. In simpler terms, proxies in the XI context are objects used to encapsulate the creation (from a sender system) or parsing of XML (at a receiver system) as well as the communication with the relevant runtime components required to send or receive those messages. The Proxy Runtime controls these objects / processes, and can itself be controlled by the applications it communicates with.
The Proxy currently has the following components available:
    1. ABAP Proxy – Communication using XI or Web Services
    2. Java Proxy– Communication using XI (J2EE)

  • ABAP proxy related issue

    Hi All,
    Good morning,
i working with ABAP proxy to file scenario. the requirement for this scenario is we are fetching data from data base to internal table then using that table we have to write code and send data to xi.  can give me past response that how to write code using internal table. i want only code related internal table not total code.
    thanks for fast response.
    regards

    Hi Sai komala,
After genrating the Proxy, you can view the calss & structures genrated by proxy. You need to create an object with refrence of Class and to be create workareas for your Message type and Data type strucutres. Create an Internal table with your desired structure and do the validations as per your mapping rules. After completion of your all validations you need to populate your final internal table data to the structure of message type and call the execute asynchronous method.
Have a look into following weblogs

  • Using ABAP Proxy

I am researching a way to integrate SAP system with ABAP Proxy. I have sevareal questions.
    1. Is it possible to use XI alerting for ABAP
    2. Is it possible to use application acknowlendgement with asynch ABAP Proxy.
    3. When I generate ABAP class in SPROXY transaction do I need to change it by hand or I can to map this proxy to RFC function or BAPI? Is it possible to generate interface in XI by BAPI or RFC and then generate ABAP Proxy?
What is  the advantage of ABAP Proxy? I think it requres more ABAP coding...
I have read some blogs but I haven't got answer

    Hi, Sergey.
I can try to answer questions 2 and 3. Regarding 1, unfortunately, I haven't tried yet.
    <b>2. Yes, definitely.</b>
If you are programming a client proxy (outbound, that is sending data to XI and then to another system) you can require ack and in case the receiver system is able to produce ack (for instance inbound ABAP or Java Proxy), it will be routed back to the sender system.
If you are programming a server proxy (inbound, that is receiving data from XI), raising an exception inside ABAP code will put the R/3 message in "Application Error". The fact that this ack is routed back to XI and to the sender depends on who sent the original data to your proxy: as far as I know, just BPM is able to require ack.
<b>3. Don't confuse RFC with Proxies.</b> The technology behind is really different. Either you use RFC/BAPI stuff (and in this case from an XI perspective you are using RFC Adapter) or proxies (using XI Adapter).
When you generate with SPROXY you have to:
    1. write your own abap code to manage data if that's an INBOUND MESSAGE INTERFACE
    2. nothing if it's an OUTBOUND MESSAGE INTERFACE, except find the right point in the system where to invoke it (report, customer exit, module pool or whatever).
Finally, the great advantage of proxies is XI native protocol usage. It doesn't require more ABAP. The ABAP code is the same you would put in a function module. The difference is that with proxies you are in an ABAP Object context, which is not the case of functions.
Hope this is exhaustive for you!

  • Queue Stucked - Exactly Once Async Abap Proxy

    Hi Guys
I have several JMS->Xi->Abap Proxy scenarios in my production environment, the Abap Proxies servers are in a SAP IS-OIL 4.72 with a SAP WEBAS 6.20 and the XI is the XI 3.0.
Some of the Abap Proxies calls are asynchronous, and when one of the abap proxies has an sysfail error (for example), it stuck the entire queue, and this is causing some problems, for the other calls (interfaces) that are not being processed until the "bad" abap proxy is "solved".
I know that we can schedule a job that reprocess the call but imagine that the problem is still not solved, I still have the other calls waiting, ie, I am putting in jeopardy some interfaces because of one error.
It seems that this queue management happens because SAP IS-OIL is treating all asynchronous AbapProxy calls as EOIO calls.
<b>1. Is my previous assumption correct???</b>
<b>2. How can I invoke from SAP XI3.0 an asynchronous Abap Proxy just with EO quality of service???</b>
<b>3. How can I setup the CCMS to alert when a queue is “stucked” (please be aware that I have a ERP SAP has a SAP WEBAS 6.20)???</b>
    Take Care
    PC

    Hi Moorthy
    > You are calling Proxy from XI right ?
    Yes
    > What is the source system ?
The source system is a 3rd party app that sends an XML message via JMS to XI, XI then calls the abap proxy that is in our SAP ISOIL.
    > You can restrict the quality of service in the
    > Outbound Interface..i.e message coming into XI.
    >
Are you saying that has to be the 3rd party that has to say to Xi that the async call that XI will have to do to SAP ISOIL has to be EO??? How can this be done?? Is in the Message Interfaces configuration - Integration Repository???
Remember that I'm having queue problems in SAP ISOIL, where the abap proxies are processed !!!

Thanks a lot for the links, it seems that is good head start.
However I'm concerned that because my SAP ISOIL has the SAP WEBAS 6.2 (old Integration Engine), the CCMS features that are explained in the links will not work in the old version. Remember that I've probably have to configure the CCMS in XI3.0 (my integration platform) and SAP IS-OIL my main system, where all abap proxys are run and called, where IDOCS are sent and received, ie, is the point of origin and final point of all my integrations...
That's why I'm so concerned about the stopped queues in SAP ISOIL, I really need full availability in this system (queues), I am talking around 10.000 messages being sent and received... and in the near future will be around 100.000 messages for sure...
