Picture Cut-off

Hi All,
I have recently updtaed to 3.0.1, and my TV shows are now not playing correctly. When I play them, the top and bottome of the picture is cut-off. It may be that the sides are cut-off as well, I just cannot tell. I have tried to adjust my TV settings, as I assume it is a format problem (16:9 vice 4:3), but unfortunately I have no manual selection for the different formats, it does it all in auto. Is there a way to change this in the atv setup? I have tried changing output resolutions but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for your replies. I am certain that this is a new problem since the update. Just to be sure I tested the same TV shows on my second ATV in a different room(but a different TV). I have not updated it yet, and it displays the shows perfectly. I am sure that there is some loss of picture on most programs due to overscan, but the problem i have right now is extreme. There are numerous scenes in most of my TV programs where a character is completely out of the picture. Naturally for a single person on screen scene they are in the picture, but they may have the top of their head our of shot. It really is very annoying. As to the Ken Burns effect, I am not sure, I thought this was just for still images and potgraphs, but I will stand corrected on that one as I am not sure.

Vertical Pictures Cut Off in Photo Album Page

On my photo albums page, the picture I want to use as the first picture is a vertical picture. But on the albums page, the albums are all horizontal. So when someone goes to look at my albums page, they just see these cut-off pictures with heads missing. Is there a way to change the orientation of the albums so they are vertical? Or is there a way to edit the first picture so that you can move the picture down so at least the head is showing in the horizontal view?

the only solution I can find is to drop a vertical photo into the MyAlbums page and cover the album with it (thus hiding the other head-less photo) linking that photo to the photopage.
However this will cause the effects moving the pointer over the album cover (skim, dissolve, ...) to disappear.
As far as I know albums can't be rotated and vertical photos are cut off and you can't tell iWeb not to cut them off...

Pictures cut off on television....

So, I just created my first REAL slideshow, for a 50th Birthday party celebration. I moved the movie from iMovie to iDVD, and burned it...it worked nicely until I viewed my show on the television. Most of my pics were cut off, so much so that the movie really isn't showable. Can I fix this? If this is a repost, I'm sorry. I kinda looked quickly to see if this question had been asked, but I couldn't find it right away. Thanks for any help!!

The site works fine on BC so possibly problem can be from your hosting end , have you tried to contact them and report the issue ?

Half of pic being cut off in FCP

Hi,
I am a high school student working on a documentary for our island and am new to FCP, so all answers are welcome and all hints to working with FCP are greatly appreciated. but my main problem is this:
Whenever I open a still image picture in Final Cut Pro, Most of my images are having the lower half of the picture cut off and it is all black.
so if anyone knows how to fix this or what is wrong, please help. thank you.

Playing slideshow on tv from ipad cutting off picture

I am connecting my ipad 2 to my TV with a RocketFish Composite adapter and trying to play a video slideshow on my TV. I am able to play the video/slideshow just fine, however both the top and bottom of the videos (and pictures) are being cut off by several inches. When played directly on my iPad the size is fine ( no cut offs). The videos were converted to Ipad compatable (.m4v) using Aimersoft Video Converter and the iPad presets. The resolutions of the videos are 720 x 480. The TV I am connecting to is 1080P LED TV. I have tried different aspect ratios in the TV's settings but there are not much to choose from and each setting changes the size of the video a little, but the amount being cut off from the top and bottom is consistent. What can i do to correct this problem. Also, I need this slideshow for a trade show I am in tomorrow afternoon, so a quick response would help a lot.
Another thing... In my research so far, I found that iPad 2 can mirror its display (meaning what you see on the iPad you see on the TV) onto the TV. But I cannot seem to get that to work either. I can only play videos and slideshows from the apps that allow you to. How do I go about mirroring my display to my TV? Does it only work with a HDMI connection?

What adapter are you using? I have the Digital AV Adapter that connects to the HDMI input of a small Vizio HDTV. It seems to work OK, and has stereo sound. My only problem has been the weight of the HDMI cable pulling the adapter out of the iPad.
Apple also sells VGA, Component and Composite adapters. I also have the VGA adapter which works on the HDTV and one LCD monitor. However it doesn't work on a couple of older monitors I tried. Also VGA is video only. You would need to run a separate cable for sound on the TV.

IPhone e-Mail bug: Text cut off below a picture

Hi Guys,
Just discovered a very annoying bug in iPhone's mail client: If you are creating a new e-mail and paste a picture into it, the text below the picture will be cut off completely. So if you have a mail: "text before [PICTURE] text after" then it will only send: "test before [PICTURE]" and the "text after" will be dissapeared to the thin air.
This is rather annoying and I would consider it as a serious bug.

Thanks for your help, I am not convienced if backup and restore would help. In the meanwhile I have found few discussions about this from 2010 -- Apple blames Microsoft Outlook protocol for this, but in my opinion this is wrong. If that is a known bug Apple should really warn their customers about losing data if they try to do that. Or just fix it even if Microsoft broke some RFCs. But yeah, with a message box with the warning "Due to a bug in Outlook protocol you are going to lose your text below the picture. Do you really want to continoue and lose the text below your picture? [I am Dumb Yes] [God No!]" would be sufficient, just do not let me hang and wonder where my text evaporated.

Picture Edge Cut Off!

We have DirecTV and this happens on all three sets but is especially noticeable on my new Toshiba 32L1400U 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV because of the screen shape. Our service is the regular, not the HD. Personally, I think the problem is in the broadcast picture itself and have contacted them about it several times, but I decided to cover all bases. I have tried every setting and finally got a picture that looks nice and normal except for all four image edges being badly cut off! Is there any other setting I can try which won't mess up what I already fixed? Thanks for any help!

I have the same problem with my 7510. Even if I copy a text document, The text of the copy moves
to the left. It seems the printhead is not centered.

Pictures are getting cut off

I made a movie in iMovie and went to burn it on iDVD. When I played in on a dvd player, some of the pictures were cut off? But when I play the movie on my Mac the pictures are fine. HELP!

Sounds like the webpage you are on isn't optimized for devices with touch screens. I would suggest attempting to use a different web browser such as atomic browser or any of the other ones in the App Store. Otherwise you may have to resort to using a Mac/PC to do your homework.

Pictures in Facebook are too large and content is cut off, is there a way to adjust.

While using my I pad 2 for Facebook the pictures of postings are huge and some of the content gets cut off. This doesn't happen on a laptop is there a way to adjust size of content so entire post can be seen.

Don't use the app.
Unfortunately, the app has had the photos bug for months or more. I access facebook via safari and find it a much better experience.

Shatter - tops and bottom of picture gets cut off

When I use this slideshow the head of subject gets cut off when the subject is
close to top of picture. I have tried re cropping but it just makes it worse. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
The theme is designed to work with Landscape format pics. You will have issues if you use Portrait ones.

When I go to a site and open a picture it opens on the left bottom of the screen and the bottom portion of the picture is cut off. Any suggestions?

When running a slideshow from an album it will not run properly if the photos are sorted manually. Sort them by any of the other options, title, date, rating, etc. and it will play correctly.
Send a report of the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
If you must sort them manually create the slideshow in the slideshow mode in iPhoto, not from an album.

HT4356 printing page from facebook using picture and airprint page in upper left quadrant with words and margin cut off

I have a ipad 4 with 6700 hp printer. I was told by support that the way to print a page from facebook was to take a picture of the page and then print the picture. When I do this the picture is printed in the upper left hand quadrant with part of the wording cut off. Is the only or best way to print from facebook and how can I fix the location of the print. Seems Hoaky to me

Well after weeks of anguish, trips to the apple store (not very professional ), calls to Apple support (no help), calls to HP support, they transfered me to airprint support who actually told me how to fix my problem. For an HP printer download from the app store HPAIO remote print. You have to search on AIO remote print. Installed this app and now I can make the print work like I would like. Good luck

Open the screen saver control panel. Right above the preview window there's a popup menu. You'll probably want to set it to "Fit to screen" so the pictures will be resized to show on the display.
