Pinter enters unexplaine​d start-up
Printer repeatedly goes into startup cycle when not in use for no apparent reason--day and night. Very annoying. What could cause this?
Thanks for the printer model. The Photosmart 7520 has a removable printhead and individual ink cartridges (IIC) style ink system. Typically, in this type of ink system, if the printer is repeatedly performing checks/cleaning procedures, then the printer doesn't have a secure connection with these parts.
I would advise removing all of the ink supplies, including the printhead, and cleaning the contacts. This process is known as an ink system reset and I have a thread with the steps outlined. To access this information click here.
As well, check the ink levels of the cartridges in the printer. This can be accessed by clicking on the Ink Drop symbol at the top of the touch display. How much does the printer indicate is in each cartridge?

half_quarters generates the start dates of every half of a quarter, starting with the begin of the first quarter that contains the sample date.
The next step is to order the dates and to select only those after the sample date.
The last part formats the output and orders the data.

I try to sinc. first i get "computers not authorized, would you like to authorize". I do that then it tells me its already authorized. enter and it starts over.

Upon startup of computer, user name centered on screen, (the word LOCKED beneath it). How do I unlock, so it will start up without entering password?? Also, when I step away from the computer for a few minutes, when I return I must enter the password again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
To disable logon screen after screensaver:
Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.
De-Select the On resume, require logon check box, set a time after which to start the screen saver, and then click Apply.
To remove windows password for user accounts:
Click on Start and then Control Panel.
Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
Click on the User Accounts link.
In the Make changes to your user account area of the User Accounts window, click the Remove your password link.
In the text box on the next screen, enter your current Windows 7 password.
Click the Remove Password button to confirm that you'd like to remove your Windows 7 password.
You can now close the User Accounts window.
Now that your Windows 7 account password has been deleted, you will no longer need to log on when your computer starts.
Your computer should now boot all the way to the Windows 7 desktop.

Hey, everytime I hit the enter key for example in Safari to enter a webpage, my itunes songs keep starting and stopping like I have the itunes window active... Does anyone know a solution for this? I tryed reinstalling and no luck...

In customizing I have entered the FM and as Workflow Task I entered "Workflow Template WS00200063 (QM ComplTask)". After pressing the activity in notification a task is entered. But after saving the notification a dump occurs (CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR, "Unable to create work item container (CL_SWF_RUN_WIM_FLOW->_IMPORT_CONTAINER)").
Has anybody an Idea what is wrong.
The only thing I want to archive is to start a workflow for a user when entering a task from activity.
If I enter the task manually (without activity FM) the workflow is starting right.

Entering passwords on start-up
On my MBPro Lion, each time I start-up, there is a message for me that SafariIDVDclient wants to use the login keychain and requires me to enter my pasword.
Is there a way I can enter the pasword once without entering each time I start-up and if so, where can I do so?
Also, I receive a second message saying that iPhotoStreamAgent wants to use login keychain and requires me to enter my password for that as well as for the SafariiDVDclient.
Is there a place where I can enter the oasswird for the iPhotoStreamAgent without doing so each time?

VernonHere's another quirk: after previous post, I entered System Preferences and had to enter my password there. I then clicked on iCloud I unchecked everything, including Photo Stream and shut down my MBPro. On start-up, no message came up requiring a password. I re-entered System Preferences and in iCloud I re-checked everything, shut-down and after start-up, I now have the same request for passwords appearing again.
So, there must be some link with iCloud.
Any suggestions?

Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.

Unexplained full start-up disk
I just experienced a situation where an unknown task was writing to my start-up disk continuously until it was filled (0 bytes available). I forced a restart (power switch) and rebooted from a cloned back-up of the start-up (fortunately I had one that was only a few days old).
I inspected the original start-up drive and determined that the /Volumes folder (the mount point for other drives, and normally quite small)contained 50GB of material that appeared to be a (partial) copy of one of my other drives!
Has anyone else experienced this bizarre behaviour or have an explanation?
I have since used the clone to restore my start-up drive and everything is working normally now; I was just wondering if I had been a victim of some virus and I am afraid of a reoccurrence.
Thanks for any suggestions.The most usual cause of a "false clone" being created in /Volumes is an interruption of the connection to the target volume during the cloning.

One of my clients has OSX Server (10.4.3) running on a Dual G5 with 2.5Gb RAM. He experiences unexplained re-starts. Sometimes these occur during the night when no-one is logged in and sometimes during the day with users logged-in. G4 QuickSilver 800DP Mac OS X (10.4.5)There isn't enough information in your post to be able to formulate an answer. Clearly the CPU panicked but there's no clue as to why.
Random panics can be caused my many things, including faulty RAM, overheating, flaky power supply, and more.
What would be more useful are the logs before the crash and the entire reboot log since it might provide more clues.
I'd also upgrade to 10.4.5. There's no reason to be two revisions behind the curve in system updates. -
ThinkPad Twist - I can not start the bios or the start-up menu pressing Enter

No matter how fast or how many times I press the enter key when starting, I can not access the start-up menu.
Immediately after the white "ThinkPad - To interrupt normal start press Enter" letters appear for just a fraction of a second on the bottom left corner, there comes the windows blue logo, and windows starts.
- The enter key is working fine (I can use it with any application)
- I am completely shutting down the laptop, not sleeping or hibernating.
- I have tried a "safe mode" start from msconfig -> same results.Ok, I've been able to access the BIOS with the following procedure:

I am trying to do a full Time Machine Backup to a new external disk. The backup starts, and it says "Time remaining about 4 days." That seems like a very long time, but the real problem is that the computer "logs off" after a few hours, and the backup stops. The system preferences are set to "Never" for Computer sleep and Display sleep. The computer does not ordinarily log off automatically, but it has done this twice since I started the Time Machine backup.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the search box.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.

Contract Start and End Dates in Sales Order

I have a situation where a service item is bundled with a deliverable item. The order is as follows
Line Item Mat Qty Higher Level Item
10 Item No.1 (Physical Item) 1
20 Item No.2 (Service Item) 1 10
For the deliverable item 10 , Revenue is recognized immediately. For the Service item no.20 , revenue needs to be recognized over a period of 1 Year (It is a 1 year service contract).
The whole order is created via BAPI from an external 3rd party order capture system.
In order to do revenue recognition properly for service items , SAP I believe has 2 options
1. Based on Billing plan dates
2. Based on contract start dates
Since order with both the line items need to produce 1 invoice, I cannot use billing plan . The only other option is to use contract start and end dates. I have enabled contract data at the sales order level. So when I enter the contract start and end dates manually at the line item level and set the item category to recognize revenue based on contract start and end dates based on time-based revenue recognition it is working fine.
But I need a way to automate the population of contract start and end dates at the line item level. My ABAP guy is not able to find a user exit that can change the XVEDA or any VEDA structure in any of the user exits.
I guess the SAP SD gurus out there would have definitely dealt with a situation of product bundling (Service and non-service items in the same sales order with one billing document , but seperate revenue recognition for service and non-service items)

Standard SAP comes with a few baseline dates for contract start date and we can control this from customization itself.
01 Today's date
02 Contract start date
04 Acceptance date
05 Installation date
06 Date contract signed
07 Billing date/Invoice date
08 CntrctStDate+contract duration
09 Contract end date
If you have some criteria which is not covered here, then let me know and i will try to provide some help then.
