Plant Maintenance notification

Hi all,
In notification (PM)  the I-button (blue-white) in the reference object screen area is not there for a one of the notification type. User wants this button is to be there. I checked configuration settings , screen category object for this notification type is 0100 (Functional locationequipmentassembly). Please anyone guide me in getting this button in notification. I am new to PM module.

For that particular notification type you may not have assigned a object information key.
This can be done in customizing.

Compare the settings for notification types with those that don't have the icon.

    The facility to create PM notifications from EH&S workbench has been provided for separately tracking EH&S safety measures as deemed by various EH&S departments in organizations. This helps in determining the KPI's and KRA's of the EH&S management in an enterprise. The notification gets created with separate notification type i.e. OS in SAP R/3 which communicates through SAP EH&S through function module "REHS_GET_ACTIONS_FROM_PM". This updates the status of the notification in EH&S. So, for a EH&S representative in an organization, getting a report of what all EHS notifications are open for action, is quite handy to plan his follow-up and reporting. Moreover, it's not always the case that notifications are raised for only braekdown of the equiments. It can be more elementary such as some gasoline spill have occured out of an incident. In this case person reporting the event would like to list safety measure for cleaning the pump area and tightening the leaking flange for arresting the leak. The first would amount to triggering notification to the housekeeping dept by specifying the relevant person responsible, and the second would trigger the notification to the maintainance dept. for flange tightening.

  • Cause Code - Structure for Plant Maintenance Notification

    Dear firends,
    I am trying to create cause code group structure for a notification as follows,
    --> Superior Level Cause Code Group ( XXXX)
                        - -> Cause Code Group (XXXX-SUB)
                                       - -> Cause Code ... (1010)
    In standard SAP we can create a Cause code group for a catalog then assign the Cause codes to the Cause code groups then assign to the Catalog profile ...and the structure looks like as follows (AS IS)
            - -> Cause Code Group(XXXX-SUB)
                                       - -> Cause Code ...(1010)
    But in my case i need to add one more level above the "Cause Code Group" as shown below ( TO BE)
    --> Superior Level Cause Code Group ( XXXX)
                        - -> Cause Code Group (XXXX-SUB)
                                       - -> Cause Code ... (1010)
    Please assist me is there any way to accomplish this requirement through user exit or something else.Thanks.

    Do the Divisions have its own Equipment base?          - Ans  : NO
    Do they create Notification for the same Equipment?   - ANS : YES
    So, lets take the case 2 you mentioned ...
    Case2:
    If they are creating notification for a same equipment (EQ01 is common for all Divisions), you can create Defect code group with Division Name CHEMDEF1, CHEMDEF2,... BIODEF1, BIODEF2... etc ...
    User has to select appropriate Defect code group and defect code.... If he enters Def code as Cause code group system will populate caused relevant for particular Def Code ...
    Problem here is lets say the Defect Code Group CHEMDEF1 has two defect code A010 & A020 ,
                                                                                  CHEMDEF2 has three defect code B010, B020 & B030.
    I would like to bring this Defect Code Group CHEMDEF1 & CHEMDEF2 under DIV1 and Defect Code Group BIODEF1 & BIODEF2 under DIV2.
    Example : The structure should look like this ..
                    - DIV1  ( Superior level needs to be added on the Structure)  - Will it be possible ?
                            - CHEMDEF1  ( Defect Code Group)
                                           - A010 ( Defect Code)
                                           - A020( Defect Code)
                            - CHEMDEF2( Defect Code Group)
                                           - B010( Defect Code)
                                           - B020( Defect Code)
                                           - B030( Defect Code)
                    - DIV2 ( Superior level needs to be added on the Structure)  - Will it be possible ?

  • FM to create plant maintenance notification

    Hi all,
    Could anyone help  me with this problem! Notification is not getting created when i call the standard BAPI BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE. I have called the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT .
    Tha BAPI returns a notification number .But when i check with this notification number i get a message Notification doesnt exist.
    Can anyone give me a solution for this.

  • Unable to create a order in plant maintenance

    Hi,
    I  have deployed BUSINESSPACKAGEs of ERP5 for  PLANT MAINTENANCE,  after deploying i have assigned the roles and configured sso when i go to role maintenance execution and click on create order i can open the screen. but when click on notification and click on create order i could not able to create the order
    The error throughing is iview "maintenance_order" not available.
    Could you please tell for the above iview which BUSINESS PACKAGE is used.

  • Warranty for materials in Plant Maintenance

    Hi Experts
    I am trying to explore how warranty could be used for spare parts in PM. I did following and seems that it works the same way as it works for equipment . meaning that it shows a dialog box when creating Notif and order.
    Step1: Create Material Master
    Step 2: Create Material Serial Number (Equipment master is created in background)
    Step 3: Add warranty information in equipment
    Step 4: Create Notification or work order, the warranty information is displayed
    My Questions is on Goods movement  and benefit by using serial number. I have created 03 serial numbers (1,2 and 3) by using TX IQ01. I have two cases:
    Case1: what are the benefits of serial numbers created above without activating serial numbers in Inventory management.  How it helps in Plant maintenance
    Case2; Assming we activate serial number mgmt in IM ( by assigning serial no profile in material master). How does the serial numbers created above (1,2 and 3 by using IQ01) tie to Inventory management serial numbers. When I receive material for a purchase order how the serial numbers  are assigned and tie to serial numbers created by IQ01.

    Dear PM Gurus,
    for one my client going to rollout, how we have to do the plant maintenance module and what parameters have to be consider, how to assign the different number ranges? for example he using 1000 plant its already implemented and now he going to do the rollout of plant 2000,3000,4000,5000. how i have to define equipment categories and number ranges, measuring point categories and number ranges, measurement documents number ranges, notification number ranges, notification types, order types, order number ranges, maintenance plans, maintenance plan category, task list number ranges is it any plant level customization or client level customization? please help me i am in critical situation.

    This is not PM (Plant Maintenance) Platform.
    Actually I also got confused and doubly checked whether I had clicked on wrong link or not. No I had not. Please please create your threads on PM specific link.
    Just it looks like that for your requirement - Plant specific customization and other data are required. You can take reference from Plant 1000 while copying to other Plants.
    Hope this will make sense.

    I will explain u measurement document.
    there are there steps
    1. cerate, change ,display characteristics (trxn ct04 )
    2. create ,change display measuring point ik01,ik02.ik03.
    3. create,change ,display measurement document  ik11, ik12, ik13.
    in characterstics u define data type ,unit of measure , status and all other details.
    you can assign number of measuring point /counter in master data of equipment
    by selecting goto>measuring points/counter.
    Or directly through traxn ik01 by specifing equipment number.
    if it is measuring counter do not forget to tick checkbox "measuring pt is counter"
    in mesurement document u will enter actual reading taken.
    e.g. for hydraulic pressure of an pump
    characteristics is pressure
    measuring point is hyd pump
    and in measurement document u will enter pressure reading in time to time.

  • How to read the configuration for SAP GUI elements in Plant Maintenance module from SPRO and leverage the same in NWBC for HTML.

    Greetings for the day!
    I am working on NWBC for HTML in Plant Maintenance module.
    We have configured some changes in SPRO for customizing the UI elements( like visibility, mandatory ) like tabs and fields in transactions like IW21( Create Notification).
    As of now separate parallel configuration needs to be carried out in NWBC for HTML in PM module to achieve the same UI features for creating notifications and this is time consuming.
    Is there any way to read the configuration done in SPRO for the SAP GUI's and leverage the same in NWBC for HTML.

    From a broad stroke, the business processes in plant maintenance are as follows:
    Maintenance Processing - This includes corrective and breakdown maintenance
    Preventive Maintenance -  This is where you set up the system to generate a maintenance order, notification or service entry sheet at a set schedule so that regular routine maintenance may be performed.
    The organizations levels in plant maintenance are as follows:
    <b>Maintenance Planning Plants</b>: This is where the maintenance work is planned my the maintenance planners for the work centers in the maintenance plants.
    <b>Maintenance Plants</b>: Where maintenance work is performed in/out of... These are tied in IMG Configuration to the Maintenance Plants. A maintenance plant can have only one planning plant assigned to it but a planning plant can be assigned to more than one Maintenance Plant.
    <b>Maintenance Planner group</b>:  Also assigned to the planning plants in configuration. These are the people who plan the work... also called maintenance managers, supervisors, foremen, etc. in the various industries.
    <b>Maintenance Work Center</b>: These are the people that actually perform the maintenance work. This is master data and they are created in relationship to a maintenance plant.

    Its a fact that when we are confused we tend to reply that this is a very good question. Before answering your question I would like you yo know the basic functionalities of these SAP solutions. Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) is an end to end solution from concept of an asset upto its end of lifecycle i,e decommisioning. Enterprise asset management is an integral component of PLM. PLM supports selection ,purchase, installation of equipment, tracking the cost of assets, access drawings manuals parts info over internet. It also supports mobile business so that you can access plant information over PDAs and other mobile devices.
    EAM typically addresses and manage notifications, work orders, measurement documents, requisitions, purchase orders, and service entry sheets – among many other things.
    It is a fact that PLM supports much more than the standard asset management concept.
    With this background in mind we can assume that any issues related with typical asset related queries may be posted in Enterprise asset management. Queries that relate to features such as DMS, Mobile asset management etc may be posted in Product Life Cycle Management.

    I have an peculiar issue in plant maintenance.
    I have created a new Equipment and now it is in status - INST and PRO.
    If is execute IH03 transaction I am able to see this Equipment whereas the other users are not able to see this new equipment in IH03.
    The issue is not only with IH03 even the equipment is not visible in transactions like Create notification, Maintenance orders, Maintenance plans.
    please throw some light.
    Whereas the other equipment which was created very long with deletion flag set. Even that get displayed. As I assume it should not get displayed right.

    I hope, for the below points there is no separate configuration.
    1) Set List Processing for Fleet management objects.
    2) Set reference object screen for Vehicles.
    For 3) Consumption Relevant Counter reading Update.
    IMG => PM & CS => Information systems for PM & CS => Configure Measurement document update
    I hope, this is common for all the versions. Please check.
