Playback a seamless animation using wmv format

I have created a seamless looping video for a piece of equipment.
In after effects, the video is truly seamless and no skipping is present.
Currently I am exporting to swf format, which plays back seamless at the cost of a larger file size.
The reason for going with the wmv format is the size is significantly less than the swf.
Is there a player that can playback a wmv file seamlessly?
Windows Media Player, Quicktime, VLC Player, all have a pause or black flash at the end of the video when looping.
Any other format recommendations?
Thanks for the help
-Steve

if your loaded swf just plays from frame 1 to its main timeline last frame and that's when you want your loading swf to advance to frame 3, you can use:
var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
addChild(myLoader);
var url:URLRequest = new  URLRequest("iwill_cards_video.swf");
myLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,onLoad);
myLoader.load(url);
function onLoad(e:Event){
MovieClip(myLoader.content).addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,checkPlay);
function checkPlay(e:Event){
if(e.target.currentFrame==e.target.totalFrames){
e.target.stop();
MovieClip(myLoader.content).removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,checkPlay);
removeChild(myLoader);
myLoader.unload();
myLoader.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,onLoad);
myLoader=null;
MovieClip(root).nextFrame()

  • Seamless animation using a SWF

    Hi,
    I'm having problem with playing a *.swf file in my animation.  The *.swf file actually contains a video clip of people passing a card to one another. On the main timeline there are 3 nested movieclips, the movieclip on the second frame contains the *.swf file, and using Im using this code to load the SWF file:
    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    addChild(myLoader);
    var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("iwill_cards_video.swf");
    myLoader.load(url);
    MovieClip(root).nextFrame()
    The first movieclip plays fine, but then the next two movieclips play at the same time over one another.  I would like for the first movieclip to play, then the second movieclip containing the SWF file, followed by the final movieclip.  I have a "stop" on each of the 3 frames on the main timeline but it doesnt seem to work?
    thanks in advance,
    Matt

  • Problems with playback quality of animated DVD on television

    I'm sending a ~20 minute (uncompressed, millions of colors) animation in QuickTime out of Final Cut Express HD in a format of HD-1080i and trying to get a very high resolution DVD for television (HD TV). Before taking the QuickTime video to any DVD writing software the aspect ratio (16:9) is correct and resolution is immaculate.
    However, all my efforts to get a super-high resolution DVD of this animation, whether I go through iMovie or only to iDVD have gotten me a lot of written and wasted DVDs in my tests. The resolution is very poor.
    QUESTION:
    How do I get a very complex animation that requires very intense color and clarity to a DVD for playback on a HD TV using my software? In my arsenal is Final Cut Express-HD vers. 3, iLIfe '06 incl. iMovie and iDVD, Toast (if needed).
    Please advise.

    HHHMMM….. where to start. First, you can’t possibly
    hold yourself to commercial quality unless you have a
    commercial budget.
    I don't expect commercial quality - just to be able to display the millions of colors and the extreme clarity on any TV and even better still on a HDTV. So far I only can get the quality I seek on a computer display. All my efforts to find a solution for television playback have resulted in a fuzzy and jerky animated feature. Here again I'm not looking for commercial quality - just clear, crisp and smooth.
    Hollywood spends millions on
    feature films. Compression hardware alone can run
    several thousands if not hundreds of thousands of
    dollars. Compared to iDVD included in a $79 software
    suite? However, even the Hollywood produced DVDs must
    rely on the DVD specification and as such, 1080i is
    currently lost on them. So your answer to “isn’t iDVD
    supposed to write anything I give it” is that if iDVD
    takes your QT file (Which BTW, should be in the DV
    format) it WILL compress it to a DVD MPEG 2 compliant
    file. This means 720x480.
    But I don't want any compression other than the final step MPEG2. And after reading this reply today - THANK YOU - THANK YOU - I at least understand now that I can't even use iDVD because it doesn't offer MPEG2 as a compressor.
    I have located a mpeg2 encoder program that is shareware and will try to find a formule to use after iMovie HD additions of themes and chapters.
    So the first step to take
    is to recognize the limitations of equipment and
    understand the standards. So now we should examine
    the workflow to see if there is anything that can be
    done. Other than knowing what Flash is, I don’t know
    much about it. Can you select a frame size for doing
    your animations? If so, guess what, use the 720x480
    frame size. This is what iDVD is going to make it
    (again, FCP may offer more options to you but that
    isn’t listed in your arsenal).
    Final Cut Pro isn't needed for what I'm doing, is it? I have already gotten exquisite playback quality for computers using FCE HD and I'm now trying to get the playback quality on a TV as good as I can get it.
    Next, from within FCE,
    do not change the settings when exporting via QT. You
    want to export it as it is in FCE, you don’t want to
    change it. iDVD is expecting a DV file. Any other
    file and quality will likely take a hit. Finally, why
    DVDs? Flash is typically web based. And computer
    monitors have a much higher resolution than a TV.
    Flash is generally web based but it can be used to produce a single QuickTime movie if the elements are primarily drawings as my animated feature is. Then on to Final Cut Express all of my imported clips are in QuickTime and thus are already compresssed by QuickTime's excellent compressor. I found that I do not get a good result if I allow any further compression - at least not on computer displays - as long as I export with QT conversion, compression none, millions of colors and specify the size I want it to maintain.
    You
    could output your Files and serve them up via a data
    DVD to be played on a computer. Just curious.
    I am already getting excellent playback quality on computers but now I need playback quality on any television because it is not intended only for computers.
    Mike
    Thanks Mike. You've already been a help in getting me away from iDVD for this project. iMovie may be OK still because its "HD". Got any more suggestions for my situation?

  • Using .wmv clip in iMovie 6

    How do I use a film clip, currently in .wmv format, in iMovie HD 6? I am using iMovie for the first time, and when importing a new clip with a .wmv extension, the clip has text across the middle of the screen 'Created with Flip4Mac Trial' 'www.Flip4Mac.com'.
    I did have Flip4Mac, but have deleted it completely from the MacBook.

    Sounds like you, at one time, converted a wmv to a .mov, cause wmv will not import into iMovie without converting it first. The watermark on it says that you didn't have a paid version. The free version allows you to convert up to 30 seconds of a clip, but lets you know that it's in trial mode with that watermark.
    If you indeed want to use wmv stuff in your edit, then you'll have to buy F4M or there's another thing called Visual Hub...F4M is the better of the 2, but VH is about twenty bucks cheaper.

    I had this problem and it is a bug in the Flip4Mac program. They did fix the bug. You have to download a patch from Flip4Mac's web site. here is the e-mail they sent me:
    Dear Customer:
    The recent release of QuickTime 7.2 created an audio compression error for Flip4Mac WMV Studio, Studio Pro and Studio Pro HD customers. Specifically, when encoding WMV files with Flip4Mac WMV v.2.1.2 using uncompressed audio sources on QuickTime 7.2 systems, customers were receiving "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate" error and the encode will fail. This problem has been resolved with the beta release of Flip4Mac WMV v2.1.33. If you are using QuickTime 7.2, please upgrade to this release at http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_beta.htm.

  • Crash when changing WMV format settings - error code included

    Myself and a cowroker had this same issue happen in the same afternoon so I'm guessing it's not solely an Adobe issue, but our IT department said to contact Adobe. I'm hoping I can at least get something specific to take back to them even if  we don't completely solve the issue here.
    The issues we are facing:
    In After Effects CS4:
    When setting up a render for a WMV file, there is an immediate error and crash the second we click on the "Format options" button:
    This is followed by a chance to save the file and a Windows Run Time error message.  I would also upload the Runtime error, but it isn't up long enough to capture.  Both myself and another designer have this issue, while two other designers in the department do not.  Everything has been running filne for the last several minths, so this is a relatively new issue for us.
    Our Systems:
    Windows XP 64bit
    32gigs RAM
    Nvidia Quadro FX 1800
    Xeon CPU @ 2.4, 2.4ghz
    We called the general support line.  The rep had us uninstall the suite which resulted in us not being able to re-install for some reason.  They fixed this by removing the color profiles.  Once we were back up and running, we still had the same issues. We were told to call the video support team.  They told us it would cost $.  We submitted the request for that to our manager, but we don't know when that will be approved, and in the meantime we now cannot use WMV files (which, unfortunately is our primary format), AND my coworker now has no color profiles due to the support from this morning.
    In addition to that, we have tried the usual steps of updating, renaming the preferences folders, and performing the "repair" style install. Additionally, niether of us has downloaded or installed any new programs or codecs, so we are unsure what to try next.   The two of us are also having trouble with Premiere CS4 -
    Premiere no longer recognizes AVI files and says that the xmp metadata is disabled.  I'm wondering if the issues are connected.  Any help at all would be appreciated.  Let me know if I need to post more details.  Thanks in advance!
    EDIT:  I should add that the issues in both programs and with both file formats occur regardless of file size or resolution.  It does not appear to matter if the file is the smallest web banner or the largest HD video ...

    Unfortunately, eradicating the current Nvidida driver and running a different one has not solvede the issue.  Although the Windows RunTime error now stays up long enough to Screen Cap:
    Todd,
    We are aware of the specs, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we are stuck with either trying to get the programs running again in XP64, or switching editing packages.  We would obviously like to avoid switching.   Two other designers are running the programs fine on the same set up, and as I mentoined before, we were also running fine until recently.  Since we didn't change any drivers or download any codecs prior to the onset of these issues, I'm not sure what else to do.

  • Soccer animation using java2D

    Hi all,
    I am developing a soccer game for fun. I've already done a simple animation, with squares instead of players and a green screen with white lines as the field. Althouth this simplicity. The only technique I've used is double-buffering. The system runs a bit slow.
    I don't have many experience in java graphics. Which advice could you give me to get a good animation?
    I'm still trying to find how I am going to get the players to have a transparent background. I mean, if I draw a picture with the player, it is going to be a rectangle, but I would like to draw only the shape of the players.
    Any suggestion?

    I haven't really done any animation using Java. But, I do know that if you want to have some sort of transparency to your images (i.e. to show only the image of the soccer player), you won't be able to use JPEG's.
    You'll have to use a format that supports transparency like GIF's.

  • How do i use conditional formatting to edit the color of other selected other cells?

    I have been playing around with the conditional formatting feature of Numbers, I have figured out how to change font and background color of the cell i am working with.
    However what i am looking to do is apply a background color formatting to another cell (i.e. F2) if conditions are met in (B2).
    the end game is this,
    I want to make a column of check boxes, and using contional formating i want adject cells to change color (I.e. the example above: if (B2) is a check box, then when unchecked the reffered Cell (F2) does nothing, but when check the color of (F2) changes)
    I can make this happen with Logic equations, the give (i.e. F2) some letter or number value, then using conditional formats i can have the color change. but this leaves that particular cell useless to me (i.e. F2) I am not free to enter or edit text in that cell. (i.e. =IF(B2=TRUE,"Paid","Due") ----> then add a conditional statement that chages color when the value is either "Paid" or "Due")
    How do i have F2 change color, when B2 is checked and still retain the ability to enter information (or potential have another formula) in F2? (The Cell is not used up by "Paid" or  "Due" it is editable just like any other cell)
    is there anyway to change cell characteristics like font, color, and background color inside a formula, because in that way i would be able build it manually
    i tried using the formula editor inside the conditional format pane, but the only infor it will allow me to retain is one partictular cell. i cannot add modifiers like "+" or "=" or anything else. what is that space used for then?
    thanks for anyones help

    MC,
    You can do what you want in Numbers. It requires an auxiliary column and it's a bit tedious to set up because conditional formatting by comparison to another cell isn't relative, so each cell has to be programmed individually with no option to Paste or Fill to other cells in a range.
    For explanation purposes, let's say your checkbox is A2, your cell to be conditionally formatted is B2, and your auxiliary cell is  C2. To have the format of B2 determined by the checkbox status in A2, you will:
    1. In C2 write: =IF(A, B, " ") The " " is any string or value that you don't expect to encounter in B normally, and using the space character means you don't have to worry about having it visible if C is in View.
    2. In B2 use Conditional Format: "Equal To" cell C2 and set your text and fill attributes to be used when the box in A is checked.
    That's it. Do that for every cell in the range.

  • Can you transfer data from one numbers spreadsheet to another using conditional formatting?

    I have a tracker document set up for client payments and when I indicate payment received, it  flags green using conditional formatting. However I would like these to automatically transfer to another sheet - without having to cut and paste the associated data to the other sheet. Can I set up conditional formatting to do this? If not how could I get and automatic transfer?
    thanks forum.

    Hi Kangers,
    There are a number of ways to transfer data from one table to the next. It should not be hard to set up.
    Conditional formatting would not be involved it moving the data but you could set it up to flag the data in the new table.
    Without knowing what your tables and data look like it is hard to propose a solution.

  • Is there a way to use the format:time to enforce 2 character hour and minute?

    I'm using the format HH:mm, but it looks like you can use 1 character for each (for example, 1:4).
    I added a check for that the length is exactly 5 to take care of that,
    since minChars and maxChars aren't applicable for Time according to the documentation.

    Still not working.

    <Email Edited by Host>

    Yes you can. OS X version 10.6.6 and later can read/write exFAT. Windows XP SP3 and later can read/write exFAT. As posted by Radiation Mac, you can do it from Windows or from OS X.
    However, I've noticed Windows to be somewhat picky about drives formatted on a Mac. So, if Windows can't read it, try formatting it on the Windows machine, and see how it works on the Mac.
